…………………I don’t know if you are a follower of this series…..”1923″……………but it’s wonderful with an incredible cast…….Last night was the final episode of the series……and it may have been the very FINAL episode, as I haven’t heard it was coming back. It seems they tied up all of the story lines, so I don’t think there is anything left to tell……It was great…spoiler alert!………very SAD ending…..I actually got teary!…….I only have one question for those who follow the series…..WHO is the one that brings Kevin Costner into the world?

“DONNA’S WEDDING”

…………..Now that I’m in a nostalgic mood I came across these photos of Donna’s wedding to Steve……….Donna got married on a very sunny…..very HOT and HUMID day in September, 1983…..I remember that day broke all records for HEAT FOR THE YEAR!!!….and it was HOT!!!….that’s why I’m wearing white shorts, a blue dress shirt, sleeves rolled up, and a pink tie. I designed Donna’s wedding dress…..a long white chiffon skirt and a silk white tank under a white chiffon blouse with aurora baby sequins embroidered all over. She wore a big picture hat with the brim held up with a pearl stick pin….Steve, her husband was the absolute BEST!……He looked so handsome that day!…..In the center picture I’m sitting on Marc Balet’s lap….why I don’t remember…..I’m sure at that point we were all pretty drunk…. Marc was responsible for all the art direction of our “Look Books”, and our “Anne Klein National Ads”…..In the picture at the far left I am licking frosting from the wedding cake off my fingers!….and the photographer just caught the moment!….Jac was wearing a brand new outfit from our spring collection that Donna asked her to wear….It was a shell pink cashmere knit tank top, matching cashmere knit pants and a long matching cashmere open front duster….As it turned out cashmere was not the best choice!!!…Jac who never perspired….was dying even after she took the duster off……The wedding took place at Steve’s mother’s home. She had a huge backyard, and a tent was set up on the grass with a wooden floor…..It was so humid that the moisture from the grass actually came through the floor boards! After a few drinks we didn’t feel the heat anymore even though we were sweating through our shirts!…….We all had a great time celebrating Donna and Steve’s wedding!!!!

“THE GOOD OLD ANNE KLEIN DAYS”

………………..I happened upon these OLD photos taken in the 70s…..I can’t tell the exact dates because they were taken at different times, and Donna’s hair was all different lengths…..but all the photos were in the OLD showroom before it was totally redone…..I had a very black thick beard in one of them, photo upper left….I started working at Anne Klein in June of 1974 the same year Anne Klein died in that previous March….I worked their for twenty years, until Sept of 1994.The photos at the bottom left and right corners were for a WWD Fall shoot that ended up being a COVER PHOTO for the new preview of the Fall Collections. One of the models is wearing the infamous flammable chenille sweater I created in Italy [second from the left]……but that’s another story……..Those TWENTY years I designed at Anne Klein were some of the best years of my life…..I was 23 years old when I started working there…..and I met the “LOVE OF MY LIFE”…..JAC!!!
