Hi Louis,
One of each in black WK, please:
-little Chanel style jacket
-Hi-Lo hem skirt like your paisley one
-Long, easy tunic buttoned down the back
-Sleeveless chemise dress that doubles as a jumper we could pair with Linea blouses, turtlenecks, shirts
-A231805 for casual wear (I’ve begged for this before)
-Moto jacket, asymmetric zip, ribbed lapel, cuffs, waist, basket weave body.
P.S I also think your denim jacket would be cute in WK.
As for colors, you’ve given us just about every gorgeous color in the rainbow. Maybe we could explore the greens and blues. I saw these gem stones somewhere, Rose de france, citrine, green amethyst, green turquoise, peridot, aquamarine, brown topaz, copper, rose gold, green gold (thinking of your pearls) sigh.
1. I second the request for a double zip cardigan, I think it would work best in the same style as the original, A210360, complete with the ribbed waistband and ribbed cuffs.
2. Bring back the bolero, please, in more colors – navy, walnut, and/or coffee bean would be my first choices.
3. Bring back A232345, the sweater that matches the bolero, in more colors.
4. A whisper knit dress with waist whittling detail, sleeveless, slightly pegged hemline (like the skirts), in dark neutrals. Think of A232345 in every needle rib, but with a skirt attached.
Dear Catherine…..The cardigan is coming in Aug, but it is not a double zip………..whether the bolero and tank make a return is up to the reorder committee. If it continues to sell well it will be reordered….if it doesn’t….it won’t. There will be a waist whittling dress in WK for fall with a matching shawl…..and that’s all the info anyone is getting out of me for next fall…..I will say it’s turning out beautifully and the fabrics are wonderful.
Wonderful. I hope that dress comes in dark colors, like black, walnut, and navy. I’m a very boring person when it comes to color.
I just got your wk knit stripe sweater in white and black and love it. The neckline is perfect and the feel of the fabric is incredible. I’d love to see it in black with a thin white stripe, navy with a Kelly green stripe, Kelly with a pink stripe. I was thinking you could coordinate the with your ponte knit blazers and pants. It would be absolutely unstopable.
Louis, Thanks for asking for our input! I love all your WK (especially the v-neck tanks) and would love to see a rich summer green. Not a pastel but closer to what we used to call kelly green. I think it looks lovely with both navy and white.
Would love to see a WK V-neck pullover with 3/4 or elbow length dolman sleeves.
Also requesting Fruit colors: watermelon, raspberry, kiwi, blueberry, mango, maybe pineapple.
I really can’t add much to what others have listed (especially the true navy/white Breton sweater) but I’m wondering if you could you do a “summer weight” whisper knit? Lighter, shorter, more fitted?
Dear Kate…..the jersey WK is the lightest weight this particular yarn will knit. It is a 12 gauge yarn and the jersey is knit on 12 gauge machines with a single thread…..that the lightest this tread or yarn is capable of. A lighter weigh sweater would have to be made out of a thinner yarn on 14 gauge machines. 14 gauge fully fashioned machines are very slow and take much more time to knit a sweater, which means more money. You don’t see many sweater made in this gauge for that reason, but I will look into it.
Now that was interesting. Thanks!
For Spring:
3/4 sleeve length “gum drop” button cardigans (like the Posh), jewel neck with coordinating scoop neck tanks:
Colors: Navy, blk, cream/white, sea glass colors, robin’s egg blue, blueberry blue, dark olive, butter, kelly green, strawberry red. No ENR for Spring/summer–it’s too heavy!
For Fall:
Full sleeve length cardigans, either V or jewel neck with coordinating scoop neck tanks and sleeveless turtlenecks:
Colors: Navy, blk, cream, dark olive, cassis, hunter green, spruce green, powder blue, charcoal grey.
Maybe a tulip midi? A ruana in ENR (maybe too expensive?) WK pants in charcoal grey and spruce green?
Dusty rose or a nice rich, but not bright, rose.
I gravitate to the classic, neutral colors (white, black, navy, khaki, grey etc.) for any season, with the addition of beach/sand colors in the Spring, like sea glass, aqua, begonia pink, sand/twig.
I’d LOVE to see another maxi skirt, like this one A239318 in WK in a range of basic colors: navy, twig, taupe, black, white for Spring. Adding pleated skirts in various lengths would be wonderful, too, in a lighter fabric. But, I’m off topic…I just want to say thank you again, Louis, for giving the Linea talls this perfect maxi skirt last season. Hoping we’ll see more of the same in the future!
Additional new colors:
Peacock as in your Chiffon Jacquard Tunic A251587, don’t know how I forgot it
More:
White, my favorite summer color
Fave colors that I would buy in almost any style: Perfectly Pink and Sage
Yes to the idea of square neck and elbow sleeves.
T necks in endless colors! I’ll keep buying them!
Thank you, Louis, for all you do for us!
I would love to see more boat/ballet neck tanks [a slightly higher necklace, not a scoop and not a V-neck] — that neckline looks wonderful under the suits I wear to the office. Your WK is so comfortable under jackets in the office. Thank you!!!!
Dear Louis — I love all of your WK styles, especially the v-neck cardigans. Color request: cornflower blue. Thank you!
Love cornflower blue. Would be so gorgeous in WK sweaters.
Is your head swimming with all of the wishes and requests? There’s a lot of good ones to be picked from I’m sure. I’ve agreed quite a few times with the ladies on some of their suggestions…My one requests is that the “Boyfriend” sweater with pockets come back or a different rendition of that style. Colors are to be whatever goes with the current collection…always something I like…sometimes too many…LOL. Thanks for the opportunity to make our wishes known. Don’t know anywhere else you can ask a designer for something and perhaps get it in the future. Amazing!!!
I love the whisper knit cardigans, tanks, and sweaters in all sleeve lengths. As to the colors, I look best in colors with cool undertones. My all-time favorite color to wear is grey.
Thanks for asking Louis
i would love more pink and of course Aqua
Mint too if if is still a popular color
love you and your designs!!
Hi Louis. I would like to request a spring version of A237407, the faux wrap sweater in a lighter weight version of the whisper knit. It’s such a figure flattering style. I feel great in it! My color preferences include any shade of blue-green like aqua, teal, and turquoise; black; ruby red; and most colors that are clear and not muddy in tone. I love that your choice of colors are almost always a good match for me. Thanks for asking.
Carol
More colors in the Boyfriend Cardigan, please! I’d also love an elbow sleeve Boyfriend Cardigan. And more stripes.
Colors: Mint, Seaglass, Smoke, True Purple
Hi Louis – Hopefully I’m not too late to the party:
Favorite Pieces: Sleeveless Mockneck, ENR Tank, Striped T, Classic Cardi
I would like the Sleeveless Mockneck in Latte, Coffee Bean, Smoke and Red
New Color preferences: pale grey blue – a mature soft blue similar to your perfectly pink
another shade of aqua, deeper or lighter
peony pink (similar to double breasted jacket)
Favorite existing colors: Navy, white, wisteria, aqua, chili pepper, lapis/limoge, red/ruby, malachite
Thanks for asking!
Yippeeee! Thank you for asking :)))
…More boyfriend cardigans! And the coordinating tank A251579
In Black , Smoke and Optic White
… Mock neck sleeveless in Smoke
… More Striped …. Please make in elbow sleeve AND mock neck sleeveless
In Black with White Stripes … And Navy with White Stripes
And more, more Aqua please. Love wearing with Sterling or Gold. Looks wonderful on most women. A ‘must’ have color for Sleeping Beauty Turquoise & Coral gemstone jewels.
Plan to wear my Aqua Crepe Blazer very soon! Love it!
Any style of WK in Aqua would be grand! Forgot to cast my vote for a “square” neckline – very, very hard to find in regular retail.
UR the Best LDO – Love you!
Hello, Louis. I would love to see a true medium to deep Purple (not Lilac) Tank and an open Cardigan. Thank you for asking.
I would like dusty light blue, no purple in it, so no to periwinkle. I prefer soft smokey colors in spring. Need a light silvery grey. Stylewise: armholes on your tanks are substantially oversized, need to be MUCH smaller (plus sizes above large).
Yes, I would go for soft colors, too
How about a hydrangea/periwinkle blue, and a bright, vibrant teal. I prefer V necks
Louis, first of all I want to say that I LOVE the whisper knit fabric! I live in a very warm climate and finally I’ve found a sweater knit that doesn’t feel too warm – it actually breathes. I wore the v-neck tanks all last summer, with a matching or contrasting cardigan knotted around my neck or stashed in my tote bag. You really were speaking my language with the fiesta colors! For next year, I’d love to see more colors in these two pieces (233942 & A233940), particularly the cardi. I know that the “boyfriend” cardi has many fans among your taller ladies, but at 5’2″ the slightly shorter A233940 is what I need. So please continue with this cardigan. I’ll buy whatever colors you come up with! My preference is warm colors, but I know you’ll come up with both warm and cool shades, to please all of us. Style-wise, I’ll be purchasing the whisperknits with v-necks and shorter lengths. I know that the ENR whisperknits have many fans, but in my climate I need to stick with the lighter weight original whisperknits so I hope you’ll still have a lot of those available. Thanks for letting us give you our “two cents worth”!
I would love a v neck ENR tunic with side slits to wear with jeans/short skirts. Something along the lines of the tunic that you created before with slanted side slits. Thankyou for asking
I would like pockets
New products:
1. Cap sleeve, modified sweetheart or V neckline, 23″-25″ length sweater
2. Elbow length, slim arm, open front cardigan with ENR deatailing on front, 25″-26″ length
3. Slim skirt 21″ length
New colors:
1. Fuschia/magenta
2. Purple like the Purple Queen bougainvillea
3. Medium tone grey/green/blue
4. No pastels (the perfectly pink is an exception!)
More:
1. ENR tanks in more colors, don’t change a thing
1. Would you be able to do a drapy a-line tunic with v neck with v ending in \_/ like this with 3/4 sleeves ?
2. how about a jewel neck WK anorak with finished seams on outside with pockets
3. A short sweater jacket with corded seaming and mandarin collar ( could cording be a subtle muted print of another fabric?)
colors
gray
Pale Sage
Pale yellow
Navy
Off white
tortoise shell
Louis meant unfinished seams on outside of garment making it look more casual interesting
Dear Victoria1….The sweaters are fully fashioned so there really aren’t any seams to speak of.
So many good ideas have been posted that I’m sure there will be styles that will work for me. As for colors, please include colors with cool undertones and another white white. I’m just one of those with finicky skin tone and need cools!
Louis, thanks asking for our feedback. Are we lucky, or what?
I would love a square neckline with elbow sleeves. I also like a shell neckline instead of a scoop.
Before I list colors, would you consider a selection of scarves that would combine a few WK colors? That would stretch my wardrobe, make travel packing easy, and wearing scarves is so….Parisan. You offer so many beautiful classic solid colors, a scarf would be something new. Imagine color blocking with several colors with a scarf to pull it all together.
Regarding colors:
1. Sea glass or that pretty Caribean water color with greenish hue.
2. pink with purple/blue tones
3. Pastel peach or a rose tone
4. Neutral,similar to a Landon stone co,or with yellow/brown undertones.
Oh, yes, I vote for Sea Glass, too!
I can’t improve on the color suggestions already given- there are some wonderful ones, especially the neutrals as well as more dramatic colors for contrast. How about a knee length A-line skirt in WK? It would be a great addition to a wardrobe for all occasions spring and summer, especially in neutrals. Please bring in more white and ivory pants, especially in petites. They always sell out so quickly you’d think the buyers would realize there is a market for them.
Magenta and Mango. Thats Sping for me.):
Thanks for asking! I’m back with my annual request for a WK shaped sheath dress, not too scooped, sleeveless or cap sleeve. ENR WK (like the boyfriend sweater) would have give such a dress great body and shapeliness. For spring, I would love ivory (and I could bring it out again for the holidays). For spring/fall wear, navy, tan and beige, caramel, aqua and sage come to mind. … I also second the call for the return of the square neckline, especially in a tank.
Oooh! I second the motion for a WK sheath dress, sleeveless or cap sleeve. YES!!!
Hi Louis: second the idea of zip front hoodie (double zip!) or mandarin style like the ponte knits in neutrals…. White, gray, taupe, latte, twig, black, navy….you get the idea.
Also……”desert colors”….sage, terra cotta, stone, “river rock” ( the color of our house).
I also have a question, if you have time….I purchased a boyfriend cardigan called ” taupe” along with a matching tank (I think it was). Are there any other pieces in “taupe”..? Have purchased the latte and twig items ; latte being slightly different in tone… Must admit, I have so many of your beautiful items I’m confusing myself (in a quite delightful way?). Thanks
Oh I would love a double zip hoodie for Spring and a square neck sweater too!
Dear Dodies….there will be more taupe pieces coming for early fall.
Ooooo, Louis! Thanks for asking! I would love, love, love a WK with a boat neck, three quarter sleeves and a boxy shape with a length of less than thirty inches… maybe twenty five inches? In black, red, perfectly pink, lapis, topaz, fuchsia, malachite… all of your fabulous colors!
Jumping the gun here, but for Fall 2015 how about a long ENR vest. Really long. At least the length of the boyfriend cardigan.
Julia
I would love to see a sleeveless or short sleeve turtleneck to go under the cardigans.
I would love a sleeveless or short sleeve turtleneck to go under the cardigans.
Dear Louis,
I would love aquas and blues, blue green, teal green, turquoises
periwinkle blue, sapphire
lilac,
magenta, cassis
rose pink, raspberry, opera, permanent rose, pink, pink and more pink
silver/silver grey, Payne’s grey
burgundy eggplant with blue undertones
soft lemon yellow
spruce green, soft grey green, sap green
whites just like this year-thank you!!!!
white and navy Breton sweater
navy always looks right in spring
I especially love your V-necks and cardigans and a soft simple round neckline to wear under things
I appreciate you asking your Linea ladies for suggestions and look forward to a huge haul that lovely Loren will forward to me in Canada-I am so grateful to Loren!
Kate in Calgary
Hi Louis, Thank you for asking, mock neck/elbow sleeve. Colors: charcoal grey, teal green, coffee bean/twig/latte, and sapphire/blueberry. Thanks again, Nanc
Dear Nanc…..what would be the difference between the mock neck/elbow sleeve style you’re asking for and the A251584, which is a mock neck/elbow sleeve?
Dear Louis, Thank you for getting back to me. I’m sorry, I should have stated item A251584(which is perfect) I hope it is reordered for fall/spring?
Kind regards, Nanc
I like your WK, but they get a little too hot for summerwear where I live…heat and high humidity, BUT they are great for the spring. I would love to see a very soft yellow color in a tank and kimono cardigan that would go with navy, gray, ivory. I’ve always found square neck tanks to be flattering….and hard to find. Thanks.
I do agree with Sallie about the WK getting too hot for the Summer heat for some of us. Would love to see the return of some of the Feather Jersey. There are some of us that dearly loved that fabric and would appreciate it’s return next summer. Please consider…
Louis-
I agree with Sherri.
Feather jersey is your hidden gem! I lived in those pieces last summer. Cool, comfortable, packed like a dream, washed well, no wrinkles. IMO, the line was ruined before it was shown by some individuals on the Linea forum.
Could you call it another name and bring it back? It seems as though there are many devoted fans.
I’d love to see black and interesting colors.
An A-line maxi skirt would be great, some tee shirts, crops pants, more maxi dresses (which were a hit…go figure!)
Sorry to hijack the whisper knit thread 🙂
Louis
I would LOVE to see some “retro” circa 1950’s sweater twin sets for Spring 2015 in the Whisper knit. I had a set that had a square
neck, trimmed with two skinny white stripes on a light lemon yellow. I wore the thing to its death. I probably just gave away
my age.!! Would love to see pastels for me and other colors for those that don’t care for the pastels. I wish I had a way to send
you a sketch of my sweater set ( I am an artist by trade).
Thanks for asking
Shari
Thank you for asking, Louis! In styles – gentle scoop neck tops – not low, V-neck, short sleeved and sleeveless. For colors navy, aqua, all blues, especially periwinkle & soft peach – greens and the new twig is fabulous – creams. I love the new stripes and would relish more of those and prints as well as the solids. I always order WK pull-on pants with pockets and would in any length. Matching jackets 🙂
There are no pockets in WK pants….way to bulky
Thank you for asking! I can’t wear turtle or mock necks, but would love a scoop/v-neck/crew neck short-sleeved WK in Perfectly Pink with a cardigan option to make a twinset. Would also love anything in mint green. Definitely second the request for a classic French Breton sweater in navy and white.
I second the request for more Perfectly Pink pieces – boyfriend and kimono cardigans, crew neck long sleeve, tank. Also love the idea of a blue and white stripe sweater. Maybe the ballet neck with the 3/4 sleeves you did a few years ago in more colors and in the stripe. That was a beauty. Oh, and I’d go for a sleeveless turtleneck and elbow length turtleneck — I can’t do the mock necks.
You’ve done such a great job with colors. Love all the brights from last year and the neutrals and nauticals this year. You have such a wonderful eye for color. How about bringing more dark teal — oh, wait, that would be fall 2015 — for spring how about Perfectly Pink, sea glass blue/green, Kelly green, lavender, French blue, lemon yellow, and more white.
Thanks for asking. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.
Julia
So thoughtful of you to ask, as always. Especially like the open-front Kimono cardigan style, longer WK skirts, and ENR construction. I’m tall, and appreciate longer jackets, tops, pants, and skirts. Love the deeper, jewel colors you’ve been using, Iris, Sea Green, Malachite, and the gorgeous, bright Linea Red — my favorite of all!
I would like to see wine, burgundy or maroon — would look great with my grey and camel LDO garments! Thanks for asking!
Wendy…that doesn’t sound very Spring. I’m asking about spring colors.
I would love A3825 in whisper knit material. I have worn these short sleeve, round neck (NOT a high crew neck)sweaters constantly until they are almost worn out! They are variations on a tee shirt, but SO much nicer. I’d like all the neutrals and maybe a Limoges blue, perfectly pink, anything you bring!
I’d also adore whisper knit pants, crops, an everyday casual jacket such as a (sweatshirt/hoodie type). I know with your touch these would be fabulous.
Thanks for asking!
Oh Judi, love the idea of WK crop pants and a sweatshirt style hoodie…fits my lifestyle to a tee…speaking of which I would like some solid tees like the striped tee only with a slightly lower neckline…less crew but not scooped. Color choices would be to go with your collection next year.
Hoodie, yes! With pockets please.
Julia
Yes…I agree a hoodie has to have pockets!
A zippered hoodie would be HUGE. And I don’t care what color, as long as one of them is black & the other navy.
I had one last year in WK, but they thought it was too expensive,
I’d like to second the hoodie…with Hi-Lo hem.
Louis, I’m loving the styles and lengths in the Spring WK. Only a few are too short. My faves are the boyfriend cardigans, the short sleeve cardigan (although this could be a bit longer for me), the ENR tanks. I would love the boyfriend cardigan to be offered in black!
In regards to color, I’ve looked for years for nice knits in seaglass (washed blue green) like Pantone 14-4505. I think sea glass would look great with twig and coffee bean, as well as navy, gray, olive and the linens. I would also add a vote to the other poster who asked for a golden olive.
Spring colors I’ve been looking for (Pantone colors in parenthesis, when I could find a number)…
Sea Glass (14-4505)
Chartreuse or Citron (12-0752)
Ceylon Yellow (15-0850)
“Purpley” gray – Zinc (17-2601)
Golden Olive
Red clay
More of the striped tee – the really thin stripes of the new WK top – in red and white/ Navy and white/ Green and white/ yellow and white etc etc.
I wait in line for all/any new colors in the sleeveless mock necks.
I wait in line for all/any new colors in the elbow sleeve mock neck.
I’ll wait in shorter lines for all/any new colors in sleeveless v or scoop necks.
Colors I crave in mock necks:
light silver grey (bluish undertones);
Stone;
Powder (not hot) Pink;
Soft Orchid;
Blue Green;
Mint;
Soft lemon yellow
Peach
Would LOVE more WK Pants – I know you are working on a pair for us! More styles – Skinny, Straight Leg, Wide Leg, even a Gaucho – Crop – type Style!
Thank you for asking!
I agree–more pants! Love the slim/tapered leg A251581, but would also like a drapey wide leg (not sure that’s possible in WK fabric) in classic, neutral colors: white, ivory, black, navy, camel, grey, twig.
The ENR scoop neck tank A253408 is fabulous. Would love to see more colors and possibly a little longer. This as a square neck would be good too. Thank you for asking!!
I would love to see a square neck with short sleeves or sleeveless. I search the stores every year for square neck tops because I love the way they look under jackets and I almost always wear some sort of structured jacket.
For solid colors – I love your peach tones & the Wintergreen that you used for the sleeveless tunic in your chambray fabric (A215190). Keep doing your Spring Neutrals – they are fabulous for year round wear. The Smoke, Twig etc. look so chic mixed with optic White.
Would love STRIPED sleeveless mock neck & matching crewneck cardi whereas the colors of the stripes are reversed (i.e. Black/Camel mock neck paired with Camel/Black cardi.
Since most of your WK’s are OLO, please keep Navy & Black offered for purchase.
Thanks for asking Louis – Have a great day!
P.S. Also would like more printed cotton cardigans in Spring colors like the Butterfly – The Espresso brings this Blonde lots of compliments.
The elbow length sweater (A230883)in perfectly pink, raspberry a nice shade of lavender for fall a nice spruce or forest green.
The new striped S/S sweater in red & navy, chili pepper & coffee bean, forest/spruce green & coffee bean or walnut, pink & wisteria, raspberry & white/ivory colors.
Longer “boyfriend” type cardigans. Short sleeved sweaters rather than tanks. Shades of purple, violet, pale yellow, pale olive, and coral. Actually, any color you make is beautiful, and I have at least one or more of each!
I would second a spring shade of magenta or cassis and elbow length tops and cardigans.
periwinkle blue (lighter than the wisteria)
Love!
Love periwinkle, too!
Same.
A short A line skirt, would be beautiful. Dolman sleeve enr sweater( or even heavier) with front buttons.
Great idea for the ENR! …especially if in a longer length like the boyfriend cardi. Any color including black.
I adore your clothes. I am tall and long-waisted and would love a longish double-breasted sweater in navy, black, and bone( maybe even brass buttons?)– it could read almost as a jacket and be a classic work horse for many of us. Also, might you consider a soft heathered green or Paynes Gray as a color to add to your whisper knit arsenal?
Many thanks!
I would love a periwinkle blue, lemon yellow, or a rose pink–midtones. As far as styles, I would like a cardigan the same shape as the Posh Knit cardigan, a lower cut v-neck or scoop neck tee, and a polo style sweater.
Yes! Rose pink-midtone!
I would love some shorter styles….. or maybe petites…… just don’t look good in long …. in softer colors (not pastel) but without so much brightness……..
Hello! NMM here. What about a pastel version of the sunshine yellow in a summer top? The same color but with more white mixed in? I can’t wear the super-bright sunshine yellow (although I love how cheery it is) near my face because my coloring is all wrong. But a paler version WK top could go with navy, black, white, tonal with the lace skirt, and with my wonderful kelly green denim jacket I got from you a few years ago. Yellow is very trendy… could you make it a wee bit more wearable for some of us? I. Couldn’t tell you the style – I rely on you for that! Ha! Thank you very much!
The WK styles I am wearing most this spring are:
A251578- boyfriend ENR cardi
AA237402- drape front cardi
AA230883- scoop neck elbow sleeve sweater.(TSV jacket upsell) Would love to see this one in a cardi style as well.
Colors: Iris, Linea navy, cobalt, golden olive and a spring shade of magenta- all colors that work back to black. I am over pastels.
Any color that looks great on your beautiful model Maria- that’s for me. Same coloring.
Many thanks!
Well since we’re dreaming …
I would love more neutrals in navy, white, khaki, charcoal grey, black. More body-conscious styles – maybe a skirt a little shorter, higher hip length sweaters, true summer tank tops/camisoles with skinnier straps, to wear alone or under summer blazers. And a classic French breton sweater in navy and white stripe, with a bateau neck. (And thank you for asking, Louis!)
What she said!!!
I’m having the same dream as enjay…LOL.
An elbow-sleeve length v-neck button front cardigan would be a workhorse for my spring/summer 2015 wardrobe. Also, any kind of solid color pull-on top with a crew neck. Even better, one with a zipper in the back! Thank you so much for asking us again this year!
