Thanks for the info!
Hello Louis, I love the new scarlet red color, bought the coat and the quilted jacket. I have the turtleneck, and I would LOVE a scarlet red tank – like A229468, my favorite tank. I love to wear this olive tank with the olive quilted jacket. Very Chic, like everything you make. I would also love a shawl in scarlet red. Can you tell I love this color. Thankyou
Hi Louis!
I am doing some xmas shopping this morning. The seamless legging is in dark grey or heather grey. Which would go best with you WK charcoal grey?
Thanks for your help!
Susan
Louis, I had to tell you how much I love your quilted lightweight jacket. I got it in olive – and it reminds me of an ancient and beloved dubarry jacket that my teenage daughter now wears as much as I do! I wore your’s yesterday with khaki slim pants and riding boots – what a really great, classic piece!
I’ll be showing it in the show at 11am as an under pinning to the Olive Trench coat…..they look fabulous together, and since as you know the quilted jacket is no heavier than a cardigan, the two can be easily worn together when the weather starts to really get cold.
I know! I bought the olive trench, too. They look wonderful together!
Shari, I believe that pant is not due to December and I do not believe Louis posted a QVC # yet.
Okay, I’ll try again. Could someone please put forth the item number on this “new 30″ ponte knit straight leg pant” “?
I must have missed it
Shari….it’s A282511, but you have to be patient as it isn’t due for a while. I think this is going to be my triple crown….the Slim Leg pant, the Boot Cut pant, and this new Straight Leg pant should be just as successful as the two previous pants.
My apologies!
The conversation with the other posts seemed like
they were already here.
Thank you for the info though!
The new coat A284133 is up for sale!
I’ve ordered the black. It looks fabulous!
Linea Ladies: Lunch time special Linea Peacoat.
Louis and Louis’ ladies
I was just at a friend’s house and she had purchased a Dennis Basso coat that arrived in a box with hanger and plastic bag. I was furious that your incredible trench arrived in a bag, wrinkled, thus I have to send to cleaners to be steamed. I think we ( Linea Ladies)should deluge Q’s customer service With emails complaining. Also this coat she bought had double zippers with his round hanging logos on the zippers! i was so angry here is a style steal From you in my face and they don’t give Linea customes the courtesy if delivering your coats unwrinkled. I see so many Linea design steals in Logo and Denim and company from you…and rarely see as many 5 star items as you have ( making angry faces)
I know you probably have nothing to do with this aspect of delivery, but we sure as heck can complain.
I know how you feel, Victoria1. We have great fidelity to Linea and Louis and are aggrieved when others make obvious swipes from his playbook. To tell the truth, both my trench coats and my first two faux-suede anoraks arrived in painstakingly packaged shipping cartons. Buttons were wrapped in tissue, etc. My third anorak, ordered recently and probably a return, arrived tossed willy-nilly in a bag. I believe these garments are not repackaged as fastidiously when they are returns.
Dear Victoria, I know the clothes are shipped beautifully from the factories, because that is how I get my samples which are the first from production. I have no idea what happens at the Q’s warehouses once something is returned and they re-ship it. They need to be better trained in folding and re-packaging.
I’m with you all the way! Why does Linea get no respect? Basso is on all the time now.
In case this helps, when I ordered a trench with another item, they came in a decent box. However, when I ordered my second trench by itself a day later, it arrived in a bag, wrinkled, and I’m sure (since buttons were covered and due to the timing) that this was not a return.
It’s time to complain again!!
I have so many Linea jackets and coats and I guess I’ve been lucky, because they always arrive carefully packaged and unwrinkled. As Goldie mentioned, the faux suede anoraks and trench coats were packed in boxes and the buttons were wrapped in tissue paper! Sweaters and LL with the Linea logo buttons are also wrapped the same way. Rarely do I find reasons to complain about the packaging of merchandise, but I think there’s plenty room for improvement on the pricing and speed of shipping the merchandise. 😉
I have brought several DB coats over the years and they all arrived in a box and on a furriers hanger with his name on it as well as a DB garment bag. I never understood why all of my Linea coats that I purchased arrived in a regular bag. My Linea clothing and jewelry arrives perfectly folded and packaged with tissue paper.
My Linea first has to ship to Southern California – then numerous Items are consolidated into a large box – and shipped to Canada. I have never had a problem with even one Item. I particularly remember my Trench Coat – it took forever to unwrap it – and the buttons and belt – and unfold it – it was in perfect condition.
Thanks for the quick reply! Will the v-neck also be cut to the same specs as the original?
Madame
It should be very close if not exact, but manufacturing knits is very different from wovens. There usually is very little variation in wovens when I want the same body used with a different neckline. Even thought the sweaters should be the same sometimes just in the finishing pressing process there could be a slight difference…..but to answer you question Jac usually wears an xxs in WK and the sample she had on was an XS so she felt it was a little roomy on her which it should have been. I would say you should order the V-neck in the same size you would order the ballet neck swing sweater.
Thank you so much for the details! I’m thinking about the wine color. It’s either that or the scarlet red swing cardigan. Or maybe the t-neck. Or how about all three LOL! Have a great evening.
Madame
Hi Louis…I would appreciate knowing if the new v-neck swing is ENR? TIA
Madame
Dear MadameD….absolutely. anytime I do a swing body in WK it will be in the ENR. That’s the way it works best.
Louis, in the latest photo on Jac’s Facebook page, she’s modeling the new v-neck swing sweater and she’s wearing a black pant. Is that the new slim leg ponte pant?
Grace, she is wearing the A265615, the slim pull-on. Many of you taller women thought it was too short, but Jac thinks, at 5’10”, it’s just right with the new lace socks, and when she likes something it becomes her go to uniform until something else takes it’s place, but for now I expect to see her wearing the pant and socks a lot!….LOL
Thanks, Louis! It’s funny…I have that pant in black (plus navy & lt khaki) and Jac & I are the same height, but that pant isn’t as long on me as it is on Jac in that photo! That’s why I thought it had to be the new ponte straight leg! I’ll have to try the slim pull-on with the new socks 🙂
I love those pants! I have multiples in all colors. I guessed that Jac had on the slim ankle pants in the photo’s from the Lambs Club. Great outfit!
Joanne you guessed right….she loves those pants!
Grace you could have longer legs then Jac, but I have to say Jac has loooooong legs. She likes the short pant length. It really has become very acceptable like tops hanging below jackets, or dresses longer than coats. At one time that was a no no, but our eyes change as we see these things more often. I happen to come from the old school….even as a designer I don’t always immediately like things that I’m not used to, but we must always look at things differently or we will be stuck in a box and never change.Things that I didn’t like before I love now.
Louis, I couldn’t agree with you more about trying new things (especially at this age & stage!) and no way was I saying I didn’t like the slim leg pant, due to the length. In fact, I count it among my all-time favorites!! I think the pant looks great, even though it hits just above my ankle. I wear them most of the year with ballet flats and I think the look is very Audrey Hepburn 😉 But, truth-be-told, the 32-inch inseam boot leg ponte pants and the crepe gauze pants are at the top of my favorites list because the fit is tailor-made perfection.:) Will you be doing any more wider leg pants in the near future?
The landscape of the D.C. area’s high-end clothes shopping continues to change. The 128-year-old prestigious Saks Jandel is closing its doors. According to today’s “Post,” the children of the present generation are not interested in taking over the reins as previous generations of the Saks family have. Does this fall into the same realm of “my children do not want my china and silver”?
I’m afraid so Goldie…..This new generation is not interested in traditional things….collectibles or antiques. There is a lack of refinement. Did you see the movie “The Intern”? I think it was pretty accurate in depicting the “new” generation. Saks Jandel was a marvelous store and I’m actually surprised it was here this long. It’s too much trouble to run a high end store these days. I go into Bergdorf Goodman with Jac and wonder who buys these exorbitantly priced clothes…..then later in the season there they are. Racks and racks of mark downs on clothes that weren’t that fabulous to begin with.
All we can do is shake our head, I guess. Yes, I did see “The Intern,” and I very much agree with your take on what the film conveyed about the generational differences. There was the DeNiro character, carefully laying out his presentation of self for the the next workday, selecting from an assortment of elegant shirts and ties. By contrast, his co-workers appeared at their post in their all-purpose sweat shirts and hoodies, looking rumpled and unconcerned with a certain presentation of self. And, sadly, this casual attitude permeated other aspects of their behavior. Loved their lessons learned by the end of the film! By the way, last month Claire Dratch passed away at 93 (or so). I’m certain you knew of her shop of the same name. My brother’s mother-in-law swore by the clothes selections at Ms. Dratch’s shop. The MIL drove from Frederick, Md., to Chevy Chase to shop from the stylish choices that Ms. Dratch always offered.
Just remembered, the MIL’s husband used to kiddingly refer to Ms. Dratch and her shop as “Claire Dracula” because he felt the money spent there drained the blood out of his bank account. He meant no disrespect; it was his way of joshing about the bills from the shop. Meanwhile, he loved the way his wife looked.
Hi Louis
Will the new V neck swing sweater be on your shows on October 17. I am sorry if you have answered this question already. I could not find it. But after seeing on Facebook how great Jac looked in the wine sweater, I cannot wait to buy one of the V neck swings.
Dear Joanne, no that sweater isn’t scheduled, as of now, until Nov/early Dec.
I absolutely cannot resist asking this question, Louis. Are you watching THE debate tonight?
I’m ready for a few pink dresses after too many years of t-shirt and tracksuit couture. How about it LDO? https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2016/oct/04/fashion-pink-dress-designers-tracksuits-gender-fluidity-years-femininity-paris-catwalk
Kate, as you know it’s not about me…it’s about what they will buy. If I manufactured every sketch I have presented to QVC I could clothed the world….LOL
Yesterday I got your beautiful Palm Leaf Necklace in gunmetal (I already had it silver). I mostly wear silver jewelry and this is my first gunmetal piece. I noticed that you show the gunmetal a lot with black. With what colors would you use the gunmetal rather than silver?
Dear Karan, besides the obvious of white, black, silver and grey….I would say anything you would wear silver with, and then some, you can wear Gunmetal with…..any and all colors….ivory, camel, red, purple, fuchsia, pink, navy, chartreuse, lime, blue etc etc etc. Just realize it will be a bit more subdued then silver….but….the necklace is so bold that it will stand out on any color.
If I understand you right, the gunmetal has a more subdued elegance (less bling than silver) and is a bit more versatile. Could you give me an example where you would wear gunmetal (not just this necklace) and nor silver?
I’m thinking maybe I need to get more things in gunmetal. Thank you
Dear Karan, as I said they are really interchangeable. You are correct when you say the GM is more subdued though it is still shiny. The silver is shiny and brighter. Silver has a cool classic look while GM is edgier and a metal color you see less of. The Palm Frond necklace is spectacular but not an everyday or casual throw on necklace. If you are interested in another piece in GM I would suggest the Trapeze or the Ribbon necklace and the Demi hoop earring, which is still avail in Gunmetal only. This is the perfect GM earring because it will go with any GM pieces you choose, and there aren’t many left, so don’t hesitate too long. If you like a bigger hoop the bold hoop which I love, is also still avail in all colors except chocolate.
Thank you so much for your answers. Yes, I got this earrings. I couldn’t believe the price. Ladies, run and get these earrings.
Thanks again, you have no idea what this blog means to all of us. Very special 🙂
Louis,
I had asked you previously about whether to get the scarlet swing cardigan or the fuchsia zippered open cardigan. Was unsure of how they would look with my coloring. I ended up getting both and love each one. The scarlet is a great true red. No orange undertones, but not too blue. Gorgeous! I also picked up the umber because it was buy more save more. Another rich color. I now have 7 of the swing cardigans!
The fuchsia sweater is a beautiful color and the zippers make it neat and stylish. Will have to pick up the black too. You really have a knack for picking out colors!
Also got the western shirt in grey/navy. Love! I’ll be wearing it with jeans and some grey boots.
That’s it for my latest order. Have the black trapeze on the way though!
By the way, loved your show with Mary Beth. Was great to see Jac back too.
Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂
Melissa…..when in doubt….get both….LOL…..at least you are getting things you know are the best quality and you can wear forever so it really is a good investment. I’m with you…there is nothing wrong with a good basic cardi, and I’ve made plenty, but the swing is just as classic with a bit of pizzazz. I don’t think anyone can have enough cardigans in great colors in their wardrobes so I don ‘t think it’s extravagant having 7 cardigans…..I think it’s smart collecting…….I know you will get a lot of wear from the grey western shirt with jeans…..and wear you live Capri jeans and sandals in the spring with the sleeves pushed up. Let me know how you like the Trapeze in black…..I love it because it’s so unique!…..Have a great weekend too.
Thanks for responding Louis. I think it is smart collecting too as I really get a lot of wear out of these cardigans. A great weight for Florida. I like your idea of wearing the western shirt with capris and sandals too – I hadn’t thought of that!
Will let you know what I think of the Trapeze. Talk to you soon!
Are the Whisper Knit pants going to come back in stock? I ADORE them and have lost some weight and mine are too big and I desperately need more!!!
Dear Susan…..as of now no……I want them back, but since I can’t bring them back as is I am trying a pair in Med. weight Milano knit which should make for a fabulous pair of pants……Now to convince the buyers!
New colours posted on Q for Linea Body Seamless Leggings A260034 – Dark Umber, Heather Grey and Wine. No pictures.
Dear Seka….the grey matches the Heather grey WK, same for the wine. The Dark Umber matches the Dark Umber faux suede.
Hello Louis
This is to say thank you for all of your new colors in the turtlenecks, my spruce green, espresso brown and blackberry arrived today.I have the red from earlier this season.I also could not resist the brown moto (have the black) from last year, your leathers are so far superior to anything else on QVC.
A sneak peek to brighten these rainy cloudy days would be nice!
Thanks
Dear Kathy, I am happy you like the new colors, as they were all requested by all of you! You are correct when you say my leather is superior to other brands. Sometimes when I am at the Q I get to see other product and I can’t help myself but to feel it. It just doesn’t measure up. You know there are all different qualities of leather and suede, and they are graded by the quality of the leather. I am happy to say I use the best quality for the price. We don’t use a lesser quality and charge the higher price. The adage of you get what you pay for is true with Linea.
I have to disagree with you on that, Louis, because with Linea you get so much more than what you pay for. That’s why we LOVE you so much! I was wearing a white Robyn shirt yesterday with some dark wash jeans, and I got such a nice compliment. I really love the silhouette and length of that blouse. Mine are starting to show their age a bit. I know it was discontinued, but could a slightly different version be created that mimics the shape, length, and clean no pocket look? I like my Kates, and adore my wing collars, but really miss the Robyn. Any chance for a redux?
crdlb
The Robyn was my favorite, too. Please bring something similar back. I love the length!
Louis,
I love the scarlet red items. One of my favorites. another color that has become my favorite is the Cream color turtleneck. I have olive skin and dark hair, and this cream color is just gorgeous on me. I did not think I would love it as much as I do. I hope you have more things coming in this new cream shade. You have a wonderful eye for colors. THankyou
Hi Louis,
Rumor has it that there will be a new v-neck swing pullover.
1. ENR?
2. Cut to the exact same specs as the original swing pullover?
3. Colors?
Thank you!
Madame
I was also very interested in the v neck swing so I asked Louis about colors. I do not know if the new swing v neck sweater is ENR or cut to the same specs as the original swing pullover. Louis answered me on this blog the colors. They are black, wine as well as tobacco. Per Louis the new tobacco is not the same color as his previous tobacco. The new tobacco is a deep russet.
Thank you Joanne! Although those colors aren’t going to do me any good, darn it, I would still like to know for future reference whether the item will be ENR and cut to the same specs. Thanks again for your response!
Madame
Okay, did I miss the new ponte knit straight leg pant with a 30″ inseam you all are talking about?
When were/are these on ?
At 5’6″ ,the 30″ inseam will be perfect, even with a short heel!!
I realize you all are beautifully tall, but ,I for one am glad to see a pant not 32″ long!
Guess nobody wants to answer
Dear Louis,
Thank you so much for recommending your black trapeze necklace – it is a beauty! Both the chocolate and black are traveling with me at the end of the week, along with many other of your pieces of jewelry and Linea fashions.
Dariann
Dariann…..I think I have a good handle on your taste and I was pretty sure [not 100% because no one can be that sure],that you would like the necklace in Black. Have a good time on your trip!
Mine arrived, too, and they are everything I had hoped for! Thanks, Louis.
Dear Louis,
Can you please tell me when we expect that fabulous poncho. I’m impatient. Please tell Jac she looks incredible and i love her new haircut.
Nov.
i’ll try to be patient but at 85 that’s difficult
Beryl, at 73 I’m no spring chicken myself, but I love your excitement and enthusiasm for life and beautiful things. If I’m lucky, I will make age 85 and still want pretty things.
Beryl, I love your sense of humor & spunk 😉
So Louis, the ponchos are coming in scarlet red & black, correct? Any other colors? I might need to order some more turtlenecks depending on the colors, thanks!
Your color “blackberry” is pining for a skirt. At least I think so, and maybe a few other Linea Ladies do, too. Is there any hope that a Whisper Knit skirt in blackberry might materialize someday for those of us who are ga-ga over that color? Really, Maestro Louis has done it again! What a color!
only if the reorder skirt sells out and they reorder it again.
There is hope! [“Sell, WK Skirt, sell.”}
Quilted jacket in Scarlet Red showing available in all those sizes that for weeks have shown as “sold out”. Just ordered mine. Feeling lucky 🙂 I thought it seemed almost “fishy” that all those sizes were supposedly sold out so extremely early, right after the new colors posted.
Hi Louis
I so excited about the new straight leg ponte knit pants. Brown and black are always needed. Will the inseam be 32 inches? I’m also in for the black Kate shirt!
Dear Judy for a straight leg pant the inseam will be 30 inches.
Dang, that’s gonna be too short for many of us. Too bad. It’s easy to make a pant shorter…
Double dang.
Okay…..I tried them on Jac in black. Remember she is 5’10’ and LONG LEGS. The pant came down to the bottom of her ankle bone. She had them on with her black pointed toe Armani ballet flat. She said she would definitely wear them with the flat….with or without socks. She loves the new lace sock and she likes to wear dress white socks with black flats….like a spat. Not something I would recommend for everyone, but on Jac it looks wonderful. She also tried them with her short boots and the pant covered the boot nicely….no breaks, but a smooth line. Because the pant isn’t too wide at the bottom it works…..Now you can all decide if you can make it work. It’s certainly longer than the “skinny pant”.
Works for me, & I’m 5’7″. I’m sure I speak for many who love this length, seldom put on a heel, particularly with sporty knits, & don’t need one more errand in our lives. Given the great popularity of the 29″ ankle pant, the 32″ boot cut pontes that seem to work well for the talls, & the lack of petite sizes, this seems a reasonable compromise for the rest of us. Thanks for trying to please everyone as best you can.
Thank you for going to so much trouble to get us the info we need! If Jac can make it work, then I sure can!
Now, where do I get her killer Armani flats?
Triple dang.
I’ll try it on Jac. Angela wore it in the show and she’s 5’8″. I think with flats, Ankle boots or even worn over a boot with a heel it still can work.
Thanks, Louis, this is hopeful news! If they fit Jac at 5’10’, they should fit me. I will give them a try for sure and appreciate you indulging those of us who whine about the inseams (talking about myself here…) We know this is totally out of your control & you’d offer tall & petite sizing, if you could. I’ll put these straight leg pants back on my buy list for December! LOVE this ponte fabric. Besides the expresso, will they be offered in other colors?
Espresso and black….if they do well as they should, then I’ll offer more colors if they get reordered. Grace how tall are you?
Louis, I thought I was 5’9″, but my doctor insists I’m now 5’10”!! Go figureI I think these pants will work for me as I typically wear flats or flat boots with pants.
Thanks Louis
I am only 5’3″ and I am thrilled that the inseam is only 30. I need new brown pants and I also like a straight leg.. I passed on your boot cut because of length. I hope they get posted prior to December.
Hi Louis
I purchased the brown moto jacket, brown espresso tn and the brown swing sweater. You indicated during your show that next month you will be introducing a brown pair of straight leg pants. Will the fabric be the same ponte knit as the boot leg pants? Also will they be pull on?
Thanks
Dear Joanne…First the pant is due in Dec…..don’t ask me why??? The pant is exactly the same body and fabric as the Super Ponte Boot Cut pant only with an inch narrower bottom opening….so it’s a straighter leg. Other than that it’s the same ….so yes it’s a pull-on.
Good afternoon Louis,
I was wondering if the Kate shirt (A214116) will be back for any of your October 17th shows? I have the red and blue and love them both. I am so glad you designed this wonderful shirt with collar stays. If I remember correctly you took a poll as to what new colors to bring back in this terrific shirt and I wondered if you could tell us what those new colors will be. I really enjoyed your show this week, most of my purchases have arrived and I am so pleased with them all!!
Thanks for any information.
Dear Beth, the Kate shirt will be back this Jan. if nothing changes! White will be coming back of course plus FOUR NEW COLORS…..ALABASTER….DARK OLIVE….RASPBERRY and BLACK
Yea Alabaster Kate shirt!
All of the colors were customer requests so let’s see how well they do?
Fantastic! I was so hoping the Kate shirt would return and especially in black. Thank you!!!
Carol
Oh boy, black and raspberry Kate shirts! I’m in!
Dear Louis,
Just had to tell you about my experience with your tropical print maxi dress this summer. I was going to a convention in Toledo, Ohio and ordered your maxi dress to wear at the convention. On QVC you said since there was a limited number of dresses made, a person would be the only woman in town to own this dress. Imagine my surprise when I selected a seat at the convention of 6,000 people and next to me was a lady with the same dress in the same color, moss green! We laughed and she said she was wearing your clothing line all 3 days. Want to thank you for designing modest, quality clothing, it is greatly appreciated!
You should have played Lotto that day! lOL
Dear Louis,
I loved the way you had Amanda styled with the white ribbed sweater, t-neck and black gaucho pants. I have all the pieces, including the gold bar necklace. I don’t wear boots, so I’m wondering if black tights and regular low heeled shoes look okay with the gauchos, or should I put them away until next summer? They hit about 2″ above my ankles. I do have the wide leg crepe pant, so I could get a similar look if the gauchos wouldn’t look right with low heeled shoes and tights.
I enjoyed the show. I didn’t expect to purchase another trench since I already had the navy, but the special price was too tempting. The black is now on the way to me!
I constantly look back at the show videos and your blog for styling ideas. Thank you for making us feel elegant and pulled together.
Dear Chris…..I think with black tights you could get away with almost anything. Do you wear shoe boots? I think you should try it on and see how it looks with different shoes even ballet flats or skimmers. Don’t put the gaucho away. Also try it with different tops like just with the black TN. it will give you a “dress” effect. I don’t know if you tuck tops in, but the white wing collar shirt tucked into the gaucho, a great black belt and black tights and a low heel shoe would look great…..You have to PLAY and exhaust all ideas before you put the gaucho away. If you had a long black skirt that length…how would you put it together?….I am so glad you got the black trench!!!!!! It really is fabulous. Jac took my sample and put it in her closet!!…..P.S. the crepe pants will look fabulous too…..but that’s a different look…..use both bottoms!
Thank you so much for the ideas. My shoe choices are limited due to foot issues. I think I’ll also play with the blue gauchos and the navy sweater, TN, tights and shoes.
I can’t wait for the next show.
Have fun….
Dear Louis,
Your whisper knit cardigan with zipper detail arrived today and I couldn’t be more pleased! It is truly a designer piece with a bit of an edge. I ordered the fuchsia and am now back for the black. I can’t wait for my two trapeze necklaces to arrive so I can pair them with the sweaters.
Thanks,
Dariann
Hi Dariann. I am so happy you love your sweater. I know you will be just s pleased with the black. gardensla already received her Trapeze in black and loves it, so I’m sure you will love yours too! Worn with your new cardigans they will look sensational! Don’t forget to leave your reviews. I know the ladies would love to hear your comments.
I wrote a review for your fabulous new cardigan yesterday but as of yet QVC hasn’t posted it.
Please tell Jac how much I like her new hair style.
Dariann
I will tell her!
Will the whisper knit swing turtleneck be coming back if so when and in what colors? Thank you!!
Dear Wendy, Yes….the swing TN is coming back. It is scheduled for November, but since it is a reorder they usually post them earlier as soon as they get to the warehouse and are processed. There are many colors coming…Scarlet Red, Hunter Green [which will go with the new H. Green Linea Body legging, Purple, Navy, Heather Charcoal Grey [which will go with the HC Grey Super ponte pant], and Espresso [which will go with the new espresso straight leg Super Ponte pant coming in Dec.] So there are SIX colors and ALL ARE NEW!
Hi Louis
Great show yesterday. I could pay close attention because I leisurely made my purchases prior to your air time. My question: As I am only 5’3″ tall I am a big fan of your Linea slim ankle pants. I own multiples in every color. You have indicated that they will be reordered in the future. May I lobby for one of the new colors to be Brown. Yesterday I purchased your brown moto jacket as well as your brown swing sweater. I know you have other brown pants among your pants, but the Linea slim ankle pants fit me to perfection and I do not have to shorten. Thank you.
Louis,
Great show! Lovely to see Jac back and love her shorter hair! Bought a black trench and gray Ponte pants and gray T neck. I have the cardigan and tank from last season. Hope they match, if not enough these are pieces that can go with other colors. Just counted I have a hundred sweaters most of them yours. Your things are too fab to say No. Saying No was very hard for me today. Remember your anoraks from couple of seasons ago in that unusal fabric…had the white on today.. just casual with your ankle jeans, sneakers and tee…but they elevate everything. Guess what? I saw your sneak peek of the black and gray poncho…I drooled…the only other designer I buy is Eileen Fisher…sitting here on my ipad, I just scanned through her website looking for boots. What do I spy? EF has just put up her new black and Gray Poncho for $400+ ! I laughed out loud. I must say I like your design choices better …and I will save money! you have us looking like a million dollars while paying less! We do appreciate your talent and hard work on our behalf!
Dear Victoria…..the grays will match. Enjoy your new things. The poncho is fabulous, and much much less then $400+!
I agree that your show yesterday was masterfully presented. The fashions were, of course, nonpareil. You just have a way with things, Louis. As a “seasoned” woman, you make me feel confident with the tasteful and attractive choices I can make from the Linea line.
Oh my, my grammar took a hit in my last sentence. It should have read, “I, as a seasoned woman, feel confident with the tasteful and attractive choices you offer in your Linea line.” Misplaced modifier and all that…
Hello Louis, I just wanted to tell you that you are my favorite designer on QVC. I have a couple of your jackets and a pair of pants that I have had for years and I still wear them and I still get compliments on them every single time I wear them out. You have such a sense of class and style and I thank you. Can’t wait to add more to my collection. I look forward to your shows and was very disappointed that I was not home to see your show today.
Louis,
I’m sure you get tired of sizing questions, but can you tell us how the moss crepe western shirt fits? I’m between XXS and XS. I usually take XXS, but sometimes I have to size up.
Looking forward to your show!!
It really depends on the shoulder width and bust size those are the measurements you must take into consideration when choosing your size.
Just an appreciation, Louis. The more I study the output of competing designers on QVC, the more I appreciate and cherish the extra touches you add to your garments as well as your dedication to the best quality that can be had from the confining parameters you are given. Something on air today (9/28) made me think this.
Thank you Goldie, I have pride in my work.
Deservedly so!
Fingers crossed your faux suede jacket has an inviting price tomorrow. I want another one.
Today, I threw on your “Linea Leisure Zip Front Hoodie” (A270903) in slate blue. As I sat at my destination, still wearing the hoodie, I kept looking down at the detail of the zipper (contrast ribbon on the side) and its Linea logo. I just kept admiring it. Not admiring myself but your work. And this is a casual piece. What you created with your faux suede jacket is beyond the beyond.
Would like to add if I may – that I also compare my Linea Items to other well known Fashion Designers outside of the Q’s List – for example – one of my favourites is Eileen Fisher. My Linea Gaucho Pants and Tunic in the Moss Crepe – is similar to Eileen Fisher designs – and if I had purchased these Items from EF – they would cost 4 to 5 times what I paid for my Linea – but they would not be better made – or wear better – or even designed better!
I agree!
Hi Louis,
Question: why are Winter White pull on trousers SO hard to find?
I have been looking for a couple of years now on Q, in
catalogs, and on line. I have found ‘some’ at the price of a small car, but
it seems a nice trouser in winter white are not to be found.
PS. Got BOTH casts off the legs!! Woohoo! That was a long HOT summer!
Doing very well.
Dear Shari…..that’s great news. You must feel like a different person!……There are many challengers in doing a white or any very light color pant. First white fabrics are more expensive. Factories have to take alot of care in the bleaching, weaving or knitting and then the finishing process. Most white fabrics have to be lined, and for an elastic waist pull-on pant that can be very bulky. For a more tailored lined white pant it becomes much more costly due to the labor and care that is need. Many factories REFUSE to make white pants because of the possibility of them getting dirty during production and then being rejected costing them money. Fabrics that don’t need to be lined are usually so thick and heavy many women won’t buy them. For all of these reasons and more good white pants cost a lot of money. I have tried many times to do white pants for QVC, but they simply will not go for the cost.
I can see where the issue of getting them dirty while manufacturing would be a problem. Thanks for the logical answer. I should have thought of that myself, anyway, YES! I feel like a new person without the weight of the casts. Just got out all of my Fall clothing! I’m like a kid in a candy store!
P.S. just ordered the trench coat in black, WHAT A GREAT PRICE!!
Dear Shari….it’s an unbelievable price. Frankly I’m surprise it didn’t sell out. A better deal I can’t offer
Louis, I know that you prefer to stay away from the QVC Fashion Forum, but there is a post today that I really think you should read. It’s titled “If you read Rachael’s blog.” Apparently host Rachael’s QVC blog talks about a visit to Elaine Lai during her trip to NYC. The wording on Rachel’s blog infers that Elaine does the designing and Linea is specifically named, grouped together with Quacker Factory and Joan Rivers. I assume that she is the production end of things, but from the responses to this post, everyone assumes that Linea, Quacker Factory and Joan Rivers are all designed by Elaine Lai! Rachel’s blog also sounds as if Elaine picks the fabrics for your designs. I know better, since you so often explain your creative process, but everyone reading the Fashion Forum will assume this is correct. The conclusion is that Ms. Lai designs and produces everything and you just put your name on it! Not sure exactly how you can counteract this misinformation, but in any case I thought that you should be aware of it. I know that I have been fuming since I read it!
Louis, Here is exactly what is written:
“In fact, Elaine produces clothes for several brands including Linea by Louis Dell’Olio, Quacker Factory, and Joan Rivers. Each piece goes through multiple steps before we see the finished product. There’s a sketch, color decisions, fabric selections, body creation, pattern making, sample production, specification adjustments, and production (this is a loose translation…lol). All of those steps are necessary for every single garment!!! Now you know why pieces take at least 3 ½ months to come back in stock! “
Yvette, I am so glad you posted this. I was also so upset to read this because we Linea Ladies know this is not accurate.
Dear Yvette, you are correct when you say I never go near the forums, and this is one reason why. Obviously I was not at this interview, and if I had been this “article” would have come out very differently! I can assure you and everyone else Elaine Lai does NOT design or pick the fabrics for the Linea collection and NEVER has. She is a wonderful manufacturer and takes great care in making sure that the garments are made as well as can be, but that is where her responsibility ENDS. I do ALL of the designing, and choose all of the fabrics, trims and buttons for each garment. I am involved with the first sample fittings to make sure the “look” and silhouette is what I want, then Elaine takes it from there [sometimes I am called in to approve certain garments that are more challenging]. It would be impossible for me to be there at every fitting as garments come in one by one. I’d have to live in her office. I will say there are times that I will ask Elaine for her opinion, as I ask Jac, to get a woman’s perspective, but all final decisions are mine. Elaine and her assistants do have fabric mills send fabrics into the office for me to select, but I do the selection. You have my permission to clarify this on the forum if you so choose. Thank you for coming to my defense……..I’m back……I just read the blog, and really no where does she say or Elaine say she designs the clothes. I think it is more Rachel’s responsibility to have made that clear. I can not fault Elaine for the way the article was written…….I am very happy to be with Elaine for the past 16 years along with Bob who’s been there longer. No one could ever say that we look alike.
Yvette
Thanks for posting. I immediately went to the comment section of Rachel’s blog and also corrected politely the truth about Louis’s involvement in the manufacturing of his garments also. There were other posting on this subject also.
I purchased from QVC your three set pearl earrings in the clip-on style in the Sophisticated colors and they are lovely. I was on waitlist for the Classic colors which included navy which I wanted very badly. It is extremely difficult to find clip-on earrings nowadays and most of them pinch the ears and hurt badly. Yours, however, are perfect. So QVC cancelled my waitlist order for the Classic color set. My question to you is will you please bring these earrings back to QVC, especially the navy clip-on pearls. These earrings are very elegant and go with every outfit. I really need these navy earrings, and I was so disappointed that my waitlist order could not be fulfilled. So please let me know if you will bring these pearl earrings back to QVC in the near future. I’m praying that you do. Thank you very much, Louis.
P.S. I own several of your blouses, and I love them too.
Dear Tomasine, these earring will not be coming back. I’m sorry to disappoint you, but the buyers are not reordering these sets.
Hello Louis,
looking forward to your show on Thursday. Meantime, I’d like your opinion on which of your leather jackets currently available on QVC would work best with the Art Deco metallic dress which I recently acquired. Back when the dress was first presented, model Brenda wore it with a lovely deep green jacket which has been long sold out. I love the idea of a green leather jacket with this dress. What do you think of the Spruce Green suede blazer A236138 with this dress? I have that jacket in Walnut and the style works well on me and with the dress, but needs to be another color for the dress. I wasn’t sure if the green suede was too bright for the dress. Another possibility: the Deep Spruce leather moto jacket? Thanks for any advice you can offer.
Dear Karen, I looked at the dress and the Spruce Green Moyo leather jacket together and they look fabulous! You will look like you spent a fortune in some high end boutique. I would suggest black sheer hose and black boots with a heel. The height of the heel is up to you.
Thank you very much for your advice. I’m ordering the Spruce Green Moto leather jacket now. See you on TV later this week!
Just went to the QVC website, and the new Moss Crepe Tunic Shirt with insets on the shoulders are posted. I ordered it blue/navy, and am looking forward to receiving it. Also looking forward to Thursday. It’s always fun to see things modeled and how you put pieces together.
Hi Louis,
I was wondering if you could describe your color “dark umber”. Is it darker than “nutmeg”?
Thanks
Sue
Dear Sue…..yes it is darker….more of a golden color with brown….it’s sort of like the old tobacco crop pant, but not as light or bright. It’s like a very deep amber
Louis,
Would it go with dark brown, navy and wine colored bottoms? Perhaps ivory?
Sue
Yes, all would work well. An ivory TN, Ivory cords and riding boots or ivory crepe pants and a shoe boot are two options. Brown, charcoal grey, and navy for sure….wine if it’s very deep.
YAHOO! The Trapeze Necklace J331644 is Posted on Q and available to order!
Just ordered the Black, Goldstone & Silverstone! Have the matching Wire Cuffs!
Dear Louis,
I have a quick testimonial on the faux suede jacket…wore it over the weekend and in one night, I received 4 compliments! I wore the dark umber over jeans and your new navy ribbed sweater to an Oktoberfest event…my husband kept his arm around me for most of the night after telling me how soft to the touch it was and was curious if it was “pricey”! When I told him what it cost, he couldn’t believe it. Even my son and his girlfriend (who wants one now…) remarked that it was a gorgeous jacket. So, that was my first outing with this jacket and I even had a complete stranger ask me where I got it! That’s my “field report” for this wonderful piece. I can’t wait to take the olive and eggplant out for a stroll 😉 If anyone is resisting this jacket, they need at least one color in their Fall lineup. It’s a GREAT anorak.
Dear Grace….the jacket will be on my Sept. 29 show at 2pm…..it might even be at a special price, BUT I’m not sure about that . This would be the time for your son’s girlfriend to get one.. They never aired the jacket at a good time. They buried it on Q Check and it didn’t do what it should have. As you know it’s a terrific jacket.
Thank you, Louis! I’ll pass it on…for all I know, my son’s girlfriend may have ordered one already! I emailed her the link to the jacket earlier today. I think once a larger audience sees this jacket, it will be gone. Weather is cooler now, too, and we’re all in the mood for new outerwear:)
This jacket is superlative in so many ways, Louis. It’s a dream. If one could wear spun cream on the body, that is what wearing this jacket is like. The weather has been unseasonably warm, so I have not yet worn my jackets. I am looking forward to stepping out in my olive or eggplant.
I’ve obviously tried them on and know what they feel like on. So nice to the touch.
Goldie, “spun cream” is the perfect description 🙂
Thank you for “getting” that, Grace. It really is a phenomenal fabric. Perhaps I am so happy with it because I was not looking forward to a bona fide suede product when I purchased the jackets. Something “faux” can be almost anything, as we have experienced in our buying lives. I just happened to be wild over what this jacket’s surprise fabric is. LUSCIOUS.
Louis, I have a question about color in general. Would you say that colors are not quite as bright as they appear on TV or are there only some that appear a little duller in person. I purchased the moss crepe in slate blue and the cloud blue cotton tunic with the snaps. Both colors are not as bright in person but are still very pretty. What is your comment on this?
Dear Eileen, I can only judge by what I we on the TV monitor that we see on the set. In general I agree with you. I often see the colors on the monitor looking either brighter then the actual color, and sometimes it looks like a different color. Also, the lighting on the set is not light natural day light which does change colors on the TV. Sometimes if I notice the color on the monitor isn’t true I will say something. Also color will change in dayl light, fluorescent ligh and halogen lighting. I always say true even clothes should be looked at in evening lighting. The fabrics look totally different under lower lighting.
Hello Louis,
I have been trying to decide which color of WK turtleneck (A72448) I should get next, I purchased the scarlet and just love it! I was wondering if the cream color is a darker shade than your alabaster pieces. I appears that it is from the pictures on the QVC website but I wasn’t sure. You are offering so many beautiful colors, it is hard to decide which color to get next.
Thanks for any information!
Dear Beth, the cream is definitely deeper than alabaster….it is more of an almond color. I will tell you it’s a good thing you have your red, because it is almost sold out and I have so many more things coming in the scarlet that will coordinate with it. The winter white, and the new taupe are also almost gone. So if you had any though of getting one of those do it before the show, because they will surely be gone during the show. There are less then 60 pieces in assorted sizes. All the colors are fabulous and will coordinate with many things that are coming. The espresso is a terrific dark brown. Of course the new blackberry is delicious….all the colors are so just put the names in a hat and pick.
Hi, Louis, You mentioned the dingle dangle necklaces being a replacement for the wave necklace, and I wanted to tell you that I loved them when I saw them, so I ordered two of them, and they are just as nice as the wave. One reason that they work so well is that they really light up your face, which is great for some of us who have white hair. I think that is very important. People always comment on that necklace, too. See what a genius you are?
Dear Eileen….I am very happy after reading what you think about the dingle dangle necklace. It is really one of my favorites. I like unique pieces that you don’t see anywhere, and I think this is one of those pieces. Enjoy wearing it!
Louis,
When will the Whisper Knit scarlet red and heather grey skirts be up for purchase? Thank you in advance.
Dear Goldie , the skirt is planned for Dec.but since it is a reorder my guess is it will be avail in Nov. if not sooner.
I love your moss crepe. I have the pant in all thee colors. I didn’t buy the short sleeve shirt in navy because of the short sleeve. Would your new two toned shirt work well as a jacket over the navy pant and short sleeved sleeve. If so, do you think you cold add that look to your presentation.
Dear Ceicei, I wouldn’t put those pieces together. The most I would put under the shirt is a tank.
But the new two-color shirt is fine with the navy moss crepe pants, right? I’ve ordered the grey/navy combination.
Absolutely….the shirt is trimmed in the navy Moss crepe and I will be showing it with both the navy skirt and pant.
Hello Louis, I am in love with the peplum blazers that you sold on QVC. I was wondering if you plan on bringing those back in new colors. I have bought every color in 2 sizes and even had to go to Ebay to purchase them. That style is very flattering, especially in the plus sizes. It would even be nice to see them made in a lighter weight fabric for the warmer seasons in that style as well. I hope you will bring them in more colors, maybe even in prints. Keep up the great work.
Dear Marla….I did that jacket quite a few years ago as a TSV, so you know it was a while ago. I have no plans to bring it back, but you never know.
Louis, I didn’t finish my note–anyway, I wore the silver wave necklace today, and the reason I am writing to you is that every time I wear it, at least 3 or 4 people tell me how much they love it. Do you think you will be bringing it back? Somehow I thought you mentioned that it was coming back. I think it would be great in silver, gold, and perhaps some of the other metals you have used. Thanks for helping me look so nice.
Dear Eileen. I love that necklace, and as you know it has been sold out for quite some time. The buyers did not reorder those pieces. These are not decisions that are up to me. I did the J325473 to replace it. The hanging pieces have the same “wave” effect as the Wave necklace. It comes in great metal colors. You may want to consider giving it a try. It is another necklace I love and works well with shirts, sweaters, dresses etc.
Hi, Louis, I just had to tell you that I just returned from a luncheon to which I wore the marine blue cardigan and shell, the black moss crepe skirt, and the silver wave necklace.
Love the new shirts – will there be a navy wk skirt to match?? Thanks
I think the navy WK skirt is sold out, and has not been reordered.
Hi Louis
I just received after seeing one of your sneak peeks (A268127) Pullover Knit Hoodie in Heather Blue. I already own the Oatmeal version that I wear with my Alabaster quilted jacket and Linea Lt. Khaki slim ankle pants – a truly expensive looking outfit from your on air presentation. The Heather Blue hoodie looks wonderful with my Olive green anorak and my olive slim ankle pants. Now I also intend to purchase the quilted front/WK knit olive jacket. The heather blue hoodie gives the outfit a different dimension and looks sensational. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy your sneak peeks and presentations. Thank you Louis
My ponte pants in umber and navy arrived today. I am in love with these pants. I have 3 pairs in black and I have the taupe and gray. Please keep them coming. If the black color is ever retired I am not sure what I would do, I wrote a review today but not sure when it will post.
Dear Shan….I am so happy you love this pant. I think it’s the best pant I’ve done. The shape and fit are really good and seem to work for so many women. Pants are the hardest thing to get right. All you have to do is look at the different shapes of women and wonder how one pant could work for so many. I think the material has a lot to do with it. The fabric is very forgiving. Please post on the Linea QVC Forum and let the women there know. I’m sure they would like to know how you like the new colors!
Well, Louis, you answered my longing for a whisper knit v-neck sweater in blackberry. I have the swing sweater and it is a beauty! Looking forward to the blackberry leggings! But a v-neck sweater in blackberry would be heaven. So disappointed the Q has decided to discontinue your absolutely fabulous v-neck sweaters. What are they thinking? Sigh…..
Many thanks for all you continue to do for us!
Terri
Terri….I’ll get one back by hook or by crook!……but…..just so you don’t feel too badly…….a V-neck SWING WK sweater will be coming in Oct./ Nov.
Hi Louis, I’m the other Teri. Please don’t forget us who cannot wear the swing sillouette. I have tried several and I look like I am wearing someone else’s baby dolls. I am long waisted. I also cannot wear the turtleneck for other reasons. I have six of the classic v neck and so many other styles, but this season, I am seeing so little I can try. I do have the quilt front in red which I love!
!
Dear Teri….believe me…..I am not forgetting you. I always offer the buyers many WK options, and they choose what they want to buy…..Hopefully there will be for “classic” bodies in the future.
Hi Louis
What colors will you be presenting in the new v neck swing sweater?
Sorry Joanne, somehow I missed your question. The V-neck swing will be coming in Black, Wine [the leggings will match], and Tobacco which really is more of a DEEP RUSSET color and not like my previous tobacco colors.
Hi Louis, I was just looking around on QVC.com and when I checked A72448 — your WK turtleneck (the classic TN, not the swing)– I see Blackberry listed as a color with all sizes available! Is this correct? I thought the only other item coming in this color is the fleece lined legging. What a nice surprise!
Dear Jane, yes that is correct. The only other BOTTOM coming in blackberry is the legging.
OK, thanks. I misunderstood. Happy to see other items in this great color.
So, does is that a clever answer that means there are other TOPS coming in the blackberry color? Would that be nice.
Dear Lee, the classic swing WK, the classic WK turtleneck and the reorder of the faux Shetland V-neck are all coming in Blackberry….all can be worn with the new blackberry fleece lined legging.
My understanding was that the WK classic T-neck was no longer to be carried. Is that not true, I hope? And while I’m asking, did the much-loved WK V-neck also avoid the chopping block?
WNYGal, are you thinking of the unhappy fate of the classic V-neck? Louis informed us that that particular style has come to an end — unless it can be saved with a modification or two to the basic design. Really, QVC, why mess with perfection?
The WK TN is continuing.
Hello Louis,
Do you have any plans to bring back your lightweight denim pants and capris? They have been my summer staple for spring and summer of the past few years. I love the style and fit. I would like to refresh my wardrobe, but sadly QVC’s supply is very limited. The denim and white are no longer available in ankle length and the capris are on clearance. I would appreciate it if there is some way these items or something similar could make a comeback. Thank you for considering this.
Dear Cathy, I always do sketches in the denim fabric, but they never pick them???? Too much competition maybe???
Oh, that’s unfortunate. In my opinion, the competition’s products do not compare with yours. Keep trying and maybe some day the powers that be will come to their senses. Thanks for the reply.
Hello Louis,
Seen in emails today from NM: lace 3/4 sleeve cardigan with denim trim. Limited sizes remaining . Ivory only. Marked down from $215.00 to $128.00. Not remotely as attractive as your lace jacket that I have in two colors. Also cardigan sweater with puffer front by Montcler. wool knit instead of your WK and actual down filled puffer front. Not very wearable, IMO and I do not need any down filled puffer anything across my front, thank you! Also do not need a pre-order price of about $660.00 as compared with your A267878. You also give us a much greater variety of sizes and colors.
Nobody Does It Better! Not just about James Bond. Thanks again.
Hello Louis,
I’m excited to have snagged a blackberry swing sweater from waitlist. Will there be any matching blackberry bottoms? Waiting excitedly for your WK poncho, do you have any info yet on the colors that will be offered? Thank you
The only bottom in blackberry will be a fleece lined legging which will be part of my Linea Body collection. It has a pin tuck front, and should be avail in Oct/Nov.
