Louis,
Watching the D. Basso show and already have seen four different necklaces/earrings sets! Comments on the jewelry are all complementary and shows the versatiliy of your pieces.
Just wondering if the turquoise ribbed bottom tank (A307363) will match the turquoise shantang jacket and if the fascia tank will match the India pink jacket?
Waiting for delivery of the India pink. I don’t usually wear such brights but they make me light up! Love, love.
Thanks for your reply.
Sorry, typing on my iPad. Meant to say saw your jewelry on the DB show.
Dear Maryinct, no they do not match. I showed the colors mixed like the fuchsia under the turquoise, and visa versa
Thanks, 4MecLouis for checking. Looking forward to seeing you next week at the Q. Have a safe trip.
Finally my floral black and red sets shipped yesterday after ordering both on May 4! The shows were great I taped them and watched them later with hubby, when he saw the floral he said right away you should get that….I laughed and told him I already ordered them I thought I would have them for Mother’s day but the shipping is so slow. Oh well I have enough colorful backup outfits to wear. I ordered the midnight tiger lily scarf so now I am the proud owner of all three colors….they are fabulous!
Louis, have you seen the Chanel indigo lace pieces? They are so similar to yours! I love the pieces I bought from you!8LBP
Yes Pam, and the jackets are framed out with bandings in the same way….only the Chanel jacket is over $12,000!
Your lace pieces are gorgeous. I tried wearing the indigo lace jacket with jeans and heels and loved it. I’m also wild about the shantung jacket in pink. Perhaps there might be shantung pants in black and white in the future?
I still wear your shantung military looking suits and jackets all the time. They are truly timeless!
Dear Pam I wanted to do matching ankle pants in the India Pink, Lime and Turquoise, but no one agreed with me I thought a suit in these colors would be fabulous,….not like I haven’t seen them before, but I guess they thought that would be too much for QVC…..maybe they were right…..still think they would be fabulous!!
Why not white???
Maybe next time….I already did white in the other lace top. Trying to keep things different.
O thanks Louis!Actually meant white in slim leg pull on pants along with the alabaster that Celia requested. I personally NEED to try and hold out now for new super ponte. I got the indigo lace pants with gauze tunic then broke down for jacket andtank as well…a week ago…still processing. Loved your shows. P.s. hope not out of line here…or insensitive, but one day…if u ever saw yourself dating again…you and Maria??? At least someone to travel with…someday..??
Dear Louis,
Please bring the ankle knit pants back in alabaster! You always give us reorders in black and white but since there’s no white would you consider a reorder in alabaster? These really are the perfect pants, especially for traveling. They are so elegant, plus you can wash them in your hotel room and they will dry in no time flat. Alabaster is just the best color I want to have another!
Thanks,
Celia
For you Celia, yes I will recommend Alabaster……Actually they have never been done in white.
I think these pants are among the all-time Linea favorites… a “cult” favorite! lol LOVE them! White would be so perfect 🙂 Also…red, taupe and the light khaki.
Which pant are we talking about here? Asking coz I don’t want to miss a cult favorite as I was a bit late to the linea party. Can you give the item number?
Pratt, it’s A265615.
Thanks Grace! I ll wait for the alabaster too 😊
Oh, and let’s not forget Perfectly Pink Slim Ankle Pants—-pretty please!
Sheila
This morning I was reading in the New York Times about Max Azria along with another article which was published in 2007: What They Design, Real Women Wear
By RUTH LA FERLAFEB. 8, 2007
It prompted me to wish that you would write a book or a series of articles about your life in fashion. At some point I hope that you do.
Great shows, Louis and Jennifer. I’m so glad to hear your a fellow GOT fan. As such, perhaps you’ve noticed Sansa’s signature necklace. I think an LDO version could sell very well as it looks like something you’d design.
Ordered the black floral blouse from your show this morning. Looks so fresh with ivory pants. You also inspired me to pair the boysenberry lace with merlot. Jennifer inspired me to put a red tank under my black stripe blouse.
Waiting impatiently for the new crops, the nude tank and the almond tunic to appear.
Louis, what do you think about wearing the black floral skirt with thenRED floral blouse? Too much?
Kathryn….I think anything can work if done right. Since the prints are the same with only the color difference there is a point of similarity. I would tuck the shirt in and belt it with a black or red belt to divide the prints, but before I commit I’ll try it on my form to make sure it does work.
I have the same question too. And a similar question – can I pair the red ruffle blouse that was sold earlier this year with the new red ruffle skirt? And the same with black.
No Pratt, they really don’t work IMHO
Kathryn…..I tried it, and i didn’t like it very much.
Thank you Louis, you are very kind to go out of your way for my question.
A GOT FAN!!!!! I’m obsessed….The funny thing is I never watched it over the past 8 years. Jac wasn’t into it so I wasn’t into it. However when they just recently did the marathon I watched and never left the TV. I DVR’d them until I realized I could watch them on HBO Demand, and now they are on constantly in my office. I know Jac would be shaking her head and rolling her eyes, and then leave me to enjoy myself. Glad you enjoyed the shows. Don’t forget the blouse has roll up sleeves with a tab and button.
I’ve watched every episode since GOT premiered. I came for Sean Bean and stayed for the dragons!
Ditto CarlyTwila, Louis, PLEASE let us see Your fantastic archives again. It is so inspiring and helpful to see how You put together Your beautiful designs.
I am so glad that you continue to bring clothes for the professional (working) woman to QVC. I find that there are so many collections on QVC that feature very casual items (and they have their place in a wardrobe), but I need pieces for work. A few years ago you had some heavy knit dresses that were knee length, one had bold stripes and another had a drawstring waist with a bamboo or leaf print. I loved both of those dresses. I unfortunately cannot wear them anymore due to the fact that I have gone up one size. I would love to see more items like that. I just ordered your maxi dress, so I look forward to trying it! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
Louis, I realize that you’re busy preparing for tonight’s show, but when you get a moment – will the beige tank that’s dyed to match the inset lace top be available soon? I keep checking, and it hasn’t been posted yet. Thanks! I’m looking forward to seeing these gorgeous tops!
Dear Enjay, I have just been asked to sell the lace top on this Mondays 5/13, PM Style I will ask the buy to make sure the color is avail.
Thanks so much! The lace tops are fabulous. I think I’m in for 3 colors – the pink, that gorgeous blue, and the romantic tea rose.
Hi Louis and Ladies. I have been reading the complaints about QVC’s slow “in process” orders and its high shipping & handling charges. I don’t know anything about the long “in process” wait time issue, but I do know something about the shipping & handling charges. Several years ago, QVC and other online vendors were sued by whistleblowers for failure to pay state “use taxes” on shipping and handling for out-of-state merchandise that allegedly should have been paid to the government. As a result of this lawsuit, QVC immediately began collecting those charges and paying these taxes on its merchandise, and the lawsuit was settled. So tax laws and litigation have played a role in causing these higher shipping and handling charges. I don’t know how Amazon does its free shipping–maybe it is big enough to make other arrangements. Hope this helps!
Nancy – QVC can still charge the tax and not charge for shipping!! By the way, unlike most retailers, QVC taxes you on the merchandise PLUS the shipping charges, claiming that the shipping charges are part of the price of the merchandise. THAT is a rip off – I don’t know too many retailers that do that. Most offer free shipping over a certain dollar amount. When the Q has free shipping, notice they only charge you for the tax on the merchandise. They always charged the sales tax, and I have been shopping with them almost from the beginning. So – they always charged the tax on the merchandise plus the shipping back from the beginning!
I still think their shipping charges are too high.
Agree, Joanna, the shipping charges are too high. Most other online retailers either ship for free or are free after a certain dollar amount. In addition, almost all ship much more promptly than QVC.
QVC has to realize that if I can buy the same shoes on Amazon and get free two-day shipping and free returns, I’ll always choose that over QVC’s $5.95 to ship, $7.95 to return the shoes I won’t receive for ten days. Amazon is not losing money on that deal and QVC’s charges are excessive.
Louis, have you seen the indigo lace pieces in the new Chanel collection? As usual your clothes are classics and on trend!
Yes I saw them in the magazines and on Vogue.com……Someone listed the prices. I think the jacket was $12,000 and the pant $5 or $6 thousand. I’d put mine on the runway with Chanel’s any day. Accessorize them the same way and you wouldn’t know which was the $12,000 jacket and which was under $100. They are both framed out the same way. and my pants are on CLEARANCE!
Dear Louis,
Your new floral blouse and skirts are fresh and fun! I love the scale of the print — it’s neither exploded nor ditzy — yay! I’m gravitating to the red option, even though I typically shy away from reds head-to-toe as I am semi-petite at 5’4″ with short legs and a long torso. I love the black option too — and haven’t ruled it out — but I already have plenty of black ground florals in my closet. Questions: I own the white blouse with appliques — would this agree with the red option even though there is ivory in the print? I also wonder if a chambray blouse or jacket would agree with the red? I am thinking both would work with the black? Finally, is the hem asymmetrical? My short legs usually prevent me from wearing that hem style. My fashion purchasing rule is that any new pieces work with existing pieces in my closet. Thinking of you today on Jac’s birthday. I hope that springtime sunshine and the emerging garden brings happy memories and a hopeful heart.
Dear Louis, Thinking of you and wishing you comfort this May 5th, Ruth
Hi Louis would your A232353 tank in twig blend with your new chino? Got this tank last year and just wore it I love it the material is so comfy, needed something as a filler and this tank was perfect as you say shop your closet! Amazing what you may find!
Dear Judi…..I no longer have those samples so I really can’t say.
Hi Louis. Hate to go against grain here, but have to ask…is this pebble crepe thinner?Seems to be thin and clingy on me as opposed to original which i LOVED BECAUSE it was sturdy enough to flow over curves but still cool and comfy. Wish for petite crops too. Colors are pretty. Thanks
Dear Pamela…..The fabric was made by the same company we have been ordering from for years so I don’t know why it should be different. I honestly didn’t notice a difference, but I didn’t compare. Sometimes different colors feel different? I’ll ask my manufacturer if they know of a difference?
I received all three of the new colors today, and this not regular pebble crepe. I’ve been buying and wearing pebble crepe since the original jumpsuits, and I’m sorry to be a downer, but these require attention to undergarments. I don’t mind the difference, but some may. And the colors are yummy.
Louis
I’d like to make two requests for next year’s Spring/Summer collection, if I may.
I own this season’s Ponte Knit blazer (A347451) both colors. The blazer pairs beautifully with so many of my Linea pieces and is a true work horse in my closet. I particularly like to wear the blazer with the Ponte Crop pant (A302601) and a great pair of heels for the office. Would you consider offering this blazer in black? I would love to have a black option to mix and match with the Ponte Crop pant and the Ponte Knit skirt in white (and linen, etc.). Of course, if you’re open to other color requests, I would put my vote in for a red that matches the new Printed Ruffle blouse (A351414).
My other request has to do with your stretch denim. We’ve seen the denim outfits that were all over the runway this year. I guess that I must have blazers on my mind (smile), but I thought about your designing a blazer or blazer-like jacket in your wonderful stretch denim material. The traditional jean jacket is wonderful. However, sometimes it’s just a bit too casual for the office or a particular occasion. A denim blazer, particularly in colors like red and white, along with the traditional denim blue, would fill a unique spot in our wardrobe.
Thank you for bringing us your wonderful designs and considering my requests. Have a lovely weekend. I hope that the sun is shining and the garden is blooming.
Michelle
Dear Michelle, I think your requests are very doable….if the blazer gets reordered. A Denim blazer I have sketched, but that’s no guarantee they will order it? I agree with everything you have asked for
Louis
You made my Saturday when I read…”I have sketched a denim blazer!” That’s wonderful.
Now I’ll just keep my fingers crossed that the denim blazer and the Ponte Knit blazer make an appearance next Spring.
Enjoy your weekend.
Michelle
Hi Louis, I just noticed that the ruffle printed blouse and skirt are posted in red multi and black multi. They look lovely. I have a question – can the red multi skirt be pores with the red floral ruffle blouse you did early this year (green sapphire and black being the other colors) and the same with black – would you pair the black ruffle blouse with the new skirt?
Louis as many have already mentioned your shantung jacket is most lovely. Thank you for using this fabric and creating a timeless piece for us. I have quire a collection of silk items in my wardrobe. This jacket has the sheen and texture that easily appears like a premium silk item. However, I prefer the weight and hand of this fabric. It does not wrinkle as easily as silk, nor does it need the contrast upkeep of dry cleaning. The hand & substantial weight feels and looks very expensive.
Please make more items for us in the Linea shantung.
Louis, please I have one request. Is it possible for the manufacturer to turn the pattern on the fabric the other direction so we could have the stretch across the body horizontal? It is not as helpful to have a vertical stretch.
Hi Louis,
Do you have a Big Deal coming this month? If so, can you give us a hint?
Thanks!
Ginny, it will be in June
Great!
I also wanted to tell you that I received the shantung jacket today. I bought the lime. It’s a stunner!
Dear Louis,
Forgive me for a quick off-topic question if I might? Friends are taking me to NYC to a show soon. I wondered if you still recommend Orso as a post theater restaurant for a Sunday early supper destination? We loved it so when we went 3 years ago, on your stories, and Walter already has the menu up online lol …
Maybe not so off-topic after all … now which Linea to wear? I think … Linea Lace … now which one … Dill or Burgundy 🙂 Sequin pants might be just too much for a Sunday matinee 😉
Thank you! Cathy in PA
Dear Cathy…Orso is always a sure bet…..Yes sequins are too dressy for a matinee….Dill or Burgundy lace jackets….either would be perfect. What bottom?
Orso it is! My friends have already fallen in love with the menu 🙂 As for the lace, well … not being much of a matchy-matchy lady, I bought the burgundy jacket to wear with black, navy, linen etc. bottoms. I bought the dill pants to wear with a wide variety of white linen, cream, ivory, natural colors. So much may depend on the weather that day … does it demand a jacket, or a slightly warmer sweater, or airy linen etc. I’ll let the weather dictate, but am sure one or the other will be perfect! Unless of course, I opt for the original lace and check trimmed jacket and matching pants … I have MOST of the colors in that one lol. Thank You so much for all the lovely choices, Cathy in PA
I hope the weather improves….it’s been raw and chilly with periods of rain…..not lace weather….more sweater weather…..Don’t forget to order the ROSEMARY PIZZA BREAD at Orso.
I know! At this chilly, windy weather, I may be wearing whisper knits after all! Or, there’s always that lovely Linea Port velvet skirt I got … or Walter’s Mint/Navy botanical top and matching scarf 🙂 On nice side effect, my daffodils and tulips are lasting so much longer in the cool weather. Don’t worry, the guys are already planning to order Pizza Bread lol … It’s so nice to know that no matter what the weather throws at us, Louis and Linea have us in style with no worries. Thanks!
Hi Louis,
I hope this email finds you doing well!!! I’m in the last week of my radiation treatment and have done well so far. I’m starting to get a bit tired now that the radiation is concentrated in this last week.
Question… I love pink and green. I have the olive and forest green ponte pants. Which pink top would look good with each pant? I suspect it would be two different shades, one for each pant but I have a hard time deciding with the colors. I could use your expertise!!!
Hugs,
Bernadette
Dear Bernadette, I am sorry you are going through this. I know from Jac how debilitating it can be. Stay strong it’s almost over and you have done so well………As for pink and green. First you must realize that it will be a strong contrast. I have looked through my pink items, and this is the list I came up: A214117 in the bright coral would work with both f green and olive, A304745 -forest green, A307191 -olive [you can pull it together with one of my Fern necklaces or the olive Berber], A287613-forest green, A302605 pink lace….either green, A347495-forest……let me know what you think and we can explore more.
Louis,
You are truly wonderful. thank you for your kind words and for your keen eye. I will take a look and let you know what I pick!!!
Many hugs to you
Bernadette
I couldn’t find A287613 (must be an older number).
This list of outfits is just delightful and I send Bernadette well wishes.
A287617…is the correct number, but it’s very limited.
Thank you Vicky!!! 🤗🤗🤗
Bernadette, I just had to comment on your radiation. I have just finished my treatments! And it does take so much out of you. I am gradually getting my strength back and it feels so good. Good Luck to You. And Louis’s clothes certainly cheer us up!
Hi Pat,
Thank you for the note. Its so nice to hear from others snd to know we are no alone. To fight this alone is far worse than the cancer itself. Many blessings and hugs to you! And yes, Louis’ clothes work miracles. I’m sad to say I can no longer purchase as much as before but now they are extra special to me!!!
Bernadette, my email is: dpjones @nc.rr.com.Perhaps we can keep in touch if you would like.
Pat
Hi Pat!
I will be sure to email you! 🤗
Bernadette
Marla I have sent the info an will trash your address.
Marla, the rings are being sent out today.
Louis, Seka just alerted us Linea Ladies to the new short sleeve moss crepe top that is posted! I can’t tell you how excited I am about this. It is so hard to find a top that hits higher on the hip so it shows your waist, has a beautiful scoop neck, just right short sleeves, in a cooler fabric for those hotter days when a SS WK top is out of the question, AND it’s a little more elevated than a t-shirt. WOW!
I have been looking to fill this exact hole in my wardrobe for a while now and it isn’t easy. I wear mostly light dresses and flowy, A-line skirts in the summer, like your boho. I need more tops like this to go with the skirts as they are shorter, so the top will balance out the longer skirts and make my waist show more so I don’t look boxy. Thank you! I hope that you had a lovely start to your Tuesday. I also loved the story about you and dear Jac in Paris. Love and hugs to you!
Louis, I remember when you and the Ladies went to see The Cher Show and how fabulous you thought it was and how amazing Bob Mackie’s costumes were. The Tony Awards were announced this morning and Bob Mackie was nominated for Best Costumes in a Musical and Stephanie Block (the older Cher) was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical.
I have my fingers crossed for Bob Mackie! His work is unbelievable, sequin, feathers, glitter, oh my! A lovely man as well.
The Tony’s will be hosted by James Corden, should be a lot of fun. The Tony’s are my favorite award show.
Dear Somersault…..thanks for letting me know!!!!! Bob must be thrilled….It’s been a long time since he has been nominated for an award, and he deserves it!!!!!
I just saw pictures of Chanel’s spring collection. Featured were indigo lace pants and jacket! They are very similar to the Linea lace pants and jacket hanging in my closet! Thanks for designing amazing and amazingly affordable clothes!
Pam did they happen to have the prices? I know they are each 4 digits! The pants are on clearance…..it might be worth it to pick up the ivory too and mix with the jacket and an ivory tank to pull it together……It really looks great.
https://www.chanel.com/us/fashion/p/19S-PODIUM-056/look-56/
Chanel Lace Pants $5,750
Jacket $11,000
LDO – priceless
WOW, I didn’t even guess the prices would be that high. There is absolutely no reason for the prices to be that high. This was his ready to wear line not the Couture. Maybe because it’s his last they raised all the prices. I’m wondering if the prices will drop without him designing. Why should anyone pay those prices for a team of designers even if it does have a Chanel label.
Louis, I received my Green patina Egyptian necklace and while I was teaching the bottom part fell off. I couldn’t fix it until I got home at noon. By then, the little jump ring had fallen off. Can you give me the address where I can get a little jump ring to fix it. That is all it needs to hook the 2 parts together. Thank you so much. I really love this necklack. I have it in this color and gold!
Dear Marla, I will check to see if they have any Verdigris rings in this country?!
Thank you!
Marla…..I need your address to send the rings off!
Dear Marla…..I spoke to the manufacturer who made the piece and they said you should give me your address and they would be happy to send you the rings PRONTO. They also apologized for the inconvenience!
Dear Louis,
What a wonderful memory “painting” you’ve given us in your description of Paris with Jac; THANK YOU. Victoria magazine comes to my door every month; isn’t it a delight?
Question for you: The new Lace Insert top: Do you think it might work with the vintage Linea pants and tank that were a natural linen color, made to work with the original lace jackets with the linen and check ribbon trim? I realize you may not have those samples anymore, just wondering if you have a guess 🙂 ?
Thank You! Cathy in PA
You are correct Cathy….I do not have those pants, but there is a good chance they will. Did the color have a pink or yellow tint?
Hi Louis,
Well, the color matched the trim on those jackets. To my eye it was very neutral, like a natural linen, with no strong inclination to either pink or yellow. I’m going to order a Lace Insert Top and find out! I’ll get the new tank as well, just in case the older tank doesn’t work. But it’s nice to have options and extra pieces,
My “shout out” Mint/Navy Botanical Blouse and Scarf shipped, and I should have in a day or 2. Had I known all it took to negotiate more Linea with Walter was hearing his name called out on QVC LOL … he was telling friends about it at dinner last night 🙂
Thanks, Cathy in PA
Cathy, I think you have a gem in Walter!
You are right Louis! My Mint/Navy blouse arrived today, and he said “Ooh, that is so nice, I’m glad you got that green one!”.
Thanks for posting the photos of the lace inset top. Your photos are excellent As usual. I ordered the sage and matching necklace. Your coordinated jewelry and clothes make it so much easier to dress chic. I’m a fan for life.
Will the cami be a separate purchase, and will it go with alabaster?
Linea Ladies – A surprise from Mr LDO! Q has posted a beautiful inset lace top .. A351465.
Louis, it’s BEAUTIFUL!!!! Just ordered the pink. Thanks for the heads up, Carolyn!
Louis, you’re a trooper! I’m picturing me during finals week at college. No sleep for days. I think you, too, do your best work on no sleep, cuz the shows were so good!
Now for the question: The new lace inset tops have posted and I’m wondering if the cami comes with it and if it’s attached.
It looks from the photo (which btw is a new low for QVC. Chantal should sue) that it might be the model’s own cami.
The cami is a separate piece that was dyed to match the lace. It’s the same Knit Jersey cami as the nectar, black, white and p pink.i like them tucked into the bottom with the top laying over the bottom
Carol…..I’m an exhausted trooper. My big plan for today is sit in my electric recliner in my 2nd floor office and watch the Yankee game in San Fran. I am sure after a short while the game will be watching ME!
Thanks, Louis. I hope your team wins, your girls give you beaucoup de puppy kisses, and you can bask in the glory of a very successful set of Lines shows. Now I have the super hard decision of which gorgeous inset lace top I want. I’ll rephrase which one I’ll buy. I want them all!
Vickybliss, the v neck tank is A233942. The mock turtleneck is A233947. I will see if they work with the lime shantung jacket since I ordered it. Can’t wait.
Joyce, Thank you so much
Hello Louis, I thought I had it all planned out to get those Shantung tops in all three colors. I asked if you would post early because of my eye surgery on Tuesday and back to the doctor on Wednesday morning and rush home for the presentation. I arrived home at 10:00 turned on the TV and Mary Beth says they sold out and I was devastated because they didn’t even post them until the wee hours of the morning but I wanted to see them before ordering, should have known better. Was the inventory lowere than normal or did someone come in and buy them all. I will watch out because I need that pink in the larger size so maybe there’s someone out there that bought multiples.
Dear Sharon, I did post my sneak peeks early. I believe the Lime is still avail but not sure if it’s in the size you need
Hi Louis,
Will the new sage lace insert blouse look good with the olive pants?
Thanks.
Will check when I get home. Which olive pant are you referring to?
A265615
I am interested in the sage top too but wonder if it works with the dill lace pants (A349997) (in a tonal sense). Could you please check against those pants too?
Thanks.
Chris
Dear Pat….not really and this is why. All of the olive pants I have done have yellow….green and yellow make olive. The sage is more blue. A273877, the Moss Crepe pant, which many of you own, works perfectly because it has the the same blue base. It is darker than the top, but the colors are the same and they look great together. The bad news is they are on last clicks and are avail. only in xxs. The color that I will be showing with the sage is the “LINEN” Ponte crop pant, or the new “BEIGE” Ponte Capri pant which was dyed to match the lace in all 4 tops.
Dear Pat….they are just OK, not great, and I’ll tell you why. The sage top is a green with more blue, and all of the olive pants have more yellow. There was a pant in the Moss Crepe called SAGE, A273877, that is now on last clicks and is only avail in the xxs that works perfectly, because it has the same blue tint. It’s a little darker but it’s the same color so they work perfectly together. I will be showing my “Linen” Ponte crop pant and my new “BEIGE” Ponte Capri pant that was dyed to match the lace in all 4 tops. The Capri will also come in Perfectly Pink that will not only match the new PP lace insert top, but all of my P Pink pieces.
Louis, they, just, posted your Inset Lace Top A351465! Surprise! Very pretty!
Louis, the pink is gorgeous! So feminine and delicate!
I’m so surprised they posted this so early since my next shows are later in May. I will have to get busy and post them, not that I haven’t been!
They are wearing you out!!!!!!!!!! Time for a vacation!!!!!!!!!!! You deserve one, especially after these last couple of days and tomorrow at QVC! oxoxoxoxo Cat
Hi Louis!
At this point nothing surprises me when it comes to the Q. Your seasoned LL all know that the Q’s photos are terrible. I get the jest of the top and am patient for your pics. Get some rest when you go home and give your ‘Girls’ lots of hugs!
Hi Louis
We had a warm day in Chicago this week. I wore the new ponte navy blue suit w/ pants with the new blue-white striped shirt with embroidery on the front – a spectacular well tailored outfit. I gave a presentation in the suit to a group of people. I fielded numerous questions about my gorgeous blouse. The blouse is really unique and lovely looking.
Dear Louis
I noticed Angela wearing the Voodoo Beaded Necklace and she had on two large beaded braclets, any chance we will be seeing these beauties in the future?
My two latest purchases were the blue and white striped shirt with the lace and the white also, the fabric is wonderful and fit is perfection. I wore the blue the other day and felt so fresh and Spring like in it. (Tomorrow we have snow predicted)
Thank you for all the hard work you do for us.
Dear Kathy, those bracelets were old samples that were never ordered…..for for the tease! So happy to hear you are enjoying your emb. Shirts. They truly are worth every penny. The emb fabric is vey expensive.
I wore my Button Front Striped Shirt in navy for the first time with the Pompeii navy necklace for yesterday. I am so delighted with the way the shirt fits and looks!!! I got so many compliments on the both. Even my doctor said, “What a fun necklace.” I am sure the necklace will be on my top 10 favorites for the future. And it gives me one more thing to wear my several navy necklaces with. By the way, the fabric is wonderful, and it doesn’t wrinkle. Thank you again for making such great clothes.
I was too slow and missed out on the shantung jacket. I keep stalking but I’m afraid I’m out of luck. It’s so beautiful.
Beryl, don’t loose heart. If there is a wait list go on it. I have always heard most wait listed items do show up. It usually takes 2 or 3 weeks for returns to show up. There are always a certain percentage of returns on EVERYTHING FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER. LOOK AT THE SEQUIN PANT. IT WAS SOLD OUT FOR MONTHS, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN, WEEKS LATER, ALL SIZES WERE Avail. It MAY HAVE ONLY been One or two sizes (some are already gone), so keep alert. It may show up.
I think I am not alone in ordering your beautiful clothes in more than one size, fearing that they will be sold out later if I need to exchange. So a return is often built into my order.
You’ve written that QVC considers how many items are returned in deciding too reorder. I hope my practice is not working against those reorders. QVC should look at how many items are left after the return period, with wait lists fulfilled.
Sorry, didn’t proofread. Should be “deciding to reorder”.
Louis, Missed the shows yesterday due to family needs so of course I missed out on the shantung jackets. All gone in my size except Lime, not the color I would have preferred. But I think I’m going to take the plunge for it anyway. Just want to confirm that the solid Lime boho skirt matches the Lime in the shantung jacket.
6 years ago I bought all of the A233947 sleeveless mock neck turtlenecks and I wear them ALL the time. Doubles on the black and the white, turquoise, hot pink, LIME and I’m wearing the butter yellow today as I type this. I am assuming that since these are in fiesta colors, they should work under this Line shantung, even though they are not the tanks Marybeth got so excited about using under the Lime Shantung in the video. And yes these gorgeous whisper knits look good as new after many launderings. Please let me know about the compatability of the LIME solid boho with the LIME shantung jacket when you have time to respond. Many thanks!!!!
Dear Nancy, as soon as I get home from PA on Sat I will let you know. I can tell you that the lime Fiesta sweater colors will look great with the LIME. If your Lime sweater matches your Boho then it will work…. nancy I have to tell you I LOVE the lime, and it would be my pleasure to help you pull it together with things you own. Turquoise top and white bottoms look great with turquoise jewelry. Lime may not have been your first choice, but it will be your surprise favorite.
Very big thanks Louis. Yes please, I would very much like to have you check to see if the Lime boho works well with the Lime Shantung.
While I have waited for you to have a chance to respond, I’ve been checking my Lime WK sweater (I don’t yet own the Lime boho and the Lime Shantung has not yet shipped) against various Linea floral skirts in my closet. It kind of looks to me like some of your previous years of floral bohos may work well with the Lime jacket. For example A224713 in coral and in navy and in turquoise – all look to me to have spashes of Lime Green in them. And even A287620 in the Black Print and in the Bluebell print look to me to also have splashes of Lime Green in them. And then really going back in time the IKAT A233189 in the Blue Combo also looks like it too has spashes of Lime Green. What do you think? I LOVE your suggestion with turquoise and I also love mixing it up with the fiesta hot pinks. I will take ANY guidance you would like to shed my way on this! And while I love and will order the compass necklace in Lime to help me accessorize, I realized this morning that I have a small collection of beautiful Joan Rivers large silk flower pins which can help me tie together colors in skirt prints to the Lime top. A silk flower that matches, for example, the pinks in some of those floral skirts but also matches the solid fiesta pink WK tops. That could really tie the outfit together with the Lime jacket.
I goofed when I reported that I owned every color of the fiesta WKs.
I was reminded this morning that I own 2 of each color. Honestly Louis, this is one of the reasons I SO love your line. It is AFFORDABLE! I can’t thank you enough for that. So over time, I’ve purchased some fun choices to work with. Every time I see some new brand at the Q hyping a skirt that costs pennies less than $100, I’m SO thankful yet again that Linea prices have held so stable and reasonable as they have. Sending much love and appreciation! Please let me know about the Lime boho and the Shantung together when you get home and get rested! In a million years I never thought I would EVER get excited about Lime 🙂
Joan Rivers flower pins!!!!! Now i won’t answer any of your questions!!!!! LOL You will be happy to know the Lime Fiesta sweaters and the Lime Boho not only match each other but look fantastic with the Lime shantung jacket. They are a little paler than the jacket [nothing can be as vivid as the shantung], but they work fabulously. I am sure as you play you will find many things that will work back to the Lime jacket. There was a long print skirt from a few years ago, it may be the Ikat you are referring too, that came in 3 or 4 different color ways which I’m sure one will work. I do remember lime being in one….A heads up…..in June I will have a print Big Deal crop pant in the Boho crinkle georgette that works perfectly with the Lime jacket. I am planning to show it one way with the jacket and Fiesta lime v neck and another with a Tee I have done to go especially with the pant. There is also a color way in the pant that goes with the India pink jacket too.
I LOVE those Joan Rivers flower pins – like a corsage that doesn’t interfere with your jewelry pieces and all of THOSE these days are Linea 😄!!! HUGE thanks for the info on the lime boho. I’m thrilled! And to my delight I also realized I bought a bunch of V-neck WK pieces in fiesta colors back in 2013 or so. Besides the mock turtleneck sleeveless ones. I think you have me now super excited about that Lime Shantung coming next week!!! I’m inflamed with excitement 😍 and indebted to you for pointing out such fun ways to wear it. So happy I didn’t miss out entirely on the gorgeous shantung !! Thank you Louis!!!
Hi Louis,
We live in Houston & are traveling a lot- mainly to Europe.
Anyway. I love this cardigan -A266305- and wondered if you would make it again in another pattern / colors.
It is so cool, elegant and light weight-just perfect for travel.
I wear it with a solid silk tank and matching slacks.
Love it! Thank you! Have a nice spring!
PS. The QVC item number was A266305. I am not sure if that was clear.
I love the cardigan in blue, but usually wear it with a solid color top instead of the striped tank that came with it.
Thanks, Louis!
Dear Patty, I remember the cardigan well. I have a print open front cardigan coming in July. It would serve the same purpose as the one you have. I hope you like it. It will be avail in two color combinations.
Wonderful! Thanks, Louis!
Louis, thanks for the suggestion on the lime tank from years ago. If memory serves, it was part of the first group of whisper knits you did. I bought every piece. There was lime, tangerine, hot pink, aqua, as well as black and navy. 2 cardigans, 2 short sleeve sweaters, two tanks and a sleeveless mock turtleneck. I have them in a separate closet. Often a twin set is the perfect wardrobe solution, and now with the carnival necklaces, the sweaters have taken on a new life. Thank you for all you do and for allowing us to share with you, and you with us, on this blog. Looking forward to seeing you again today. You must be exhausted, but are always upbeat and professional.
Do you have the number for the whisper knit lime top?
Yesterday I thought they mentioned the lime boho skirt matched the jacket, so I wondered if Louis was referring the lime tank (A214117) Crinkle Georgette Shirt w/ Shell?
Joyce i’m So happy to hear you have the Fiesta sweaters in so many colors. I think that was one of the best things I ever offered all of you. They were a great investment, and they just keep working and working with everything. They are the epitome of “ a pop of color”.
Louis, not that I don’t love seeing you but this is turning into an extremely long day/night for you and on top of that, you, now, have to pull a whole new show together at the last minute! That’s a lot of work to be done at the last minute! I know you will have a spectacular show but I hate to see you under pressure. I mean it’s a whole new one hour show!!! You will knock it out of the park! Make sure you and Jennifer have a really good glass of wine afterwards!
Dear Somersault… that was some run…I was up at 3am on Weds and didn’t get any sleep until lat night after dinner at about 9. Today I’m staying in my hotel room Horizontal watching TV and sleeping until I have to be back at the Q Sat. at 5:30 am for AM Style at 7am…then HOME!
ATTENTION! LAST MINUTE LINEA FASHION SHOW ADDED TO OUR LINE-UP! TONIGHT AT 2AM ET ON QVC MAIN CHANNEL! Sorry for the last minute—but this just happened! Hope you all can join Louis tonight at 2am ET! 🙂
Poor LOUIS! I cannot imagine a last minute show isn’t giving him severe heartburn! I’ll be there to cheer him on!
Jennifer: Is this in addition to the show scheduled for 4-5pm on QVC2? Sorry, I know you’re all probably as confused as we are! I’m in a different time zone, so I’m always confused.
HELLO LADIES! A LAST MINUTE SHOW HAS BEEN ADDED FOR LOUIS TONIGHT AT 1AM ET ON QVC MAIN CHANNEL! HOPE YOU’LL JOIN HIM TONIGHT! 🙂
Love & Linea,
Jennifer
THEY HAVE NOW CHANGED IT TO 2AM ET TONIGHT INSTEAD OF 1AM! —- SORRY, THIS IS ALL SO VERY LAST MINUTE! 2am ET tonight on QVC Main Channel an additional Linea Fashion Show!
Qvc made a mistake it’s a 2:00am show, not 1am. I’ve committed so I have to do the 2am
Hi Louis!
I heard you mention it today on-air. Just set up my dvr. We all know how hard you prepare for shows but Please get some rest.
I agree with Dawn…you work so hard prepping these shows and this was a very long day. Hope you get some rest. The show airs at midnight in my time zone, so I’ll be staying up to cheer you on!
Dear Louis,
Catching this morning’s show while I packed (Linea of course) for a 2 day sad funeral trip later today. When the Botanical print blouse came up. Walter walked in just in time to hear your shout out mentioning him 🙂 He turned to leave the room; got to the doorway, turned around and said “I think you should get another one of those shirts” … Mint/Navy will be here soon LOL! Thank you for the shout out and the shipping assist 😉
Could you tell me the difference between the azure blue nugget necklace and the previous blue gunmetal (Caneel) nugget necklace? They look tonal. Can they be worn together? Thank you
Dear vickybliss….good question….the Caneel blue is much paler, like a pale aquamarine. It has a very watery effect if you know what I mean. The new Azure is a deep turquoise and looks very different from the Caneel. What’s nice is that they both have gunmetal chains and blend beautifully together and can absolutely be worn together….They are quite beautiful together, and the difference is very evident yet tonal.
Louis, I am so pleased to hear that. I already have the pale Caneel blue one and now I will get the new Azure one so I can indulge in “abundance” when wearing them together! I also love the new copper top and sienna necklace, so it will be hard to choose just one. I wonder whether the sienna necklace looks nice paired with the pale kahki one from before also? I bet it does!
I got my azure necklace yesterday and compared it to my caneel. The darkest nugget on the azure replaces the lightest color nugget on the caneel. They share two colors of the nuggets. So in other words, there are four colors of nuggets: the azure has the three darkest, the caneel has the three lightest. They look wonderful together.
Happy Easter Louis. I love the photos of you and Jac; same place, same outfits, same smile, same wave, same family, same heart. Blessings to you, Ingrid
Louis, is the chino color in the new pebble crepe top and pants a taupe kind of color or a more yellow beige? Also, is the ivory the same as the previous white in the pebble crepe, or is this a different shade? Thanks from a pebble crepe hoarder. I still have the bias cut ankle length skirts and the jumpsuits from your very first pebble crepe collection.
Carol I’d say it was more of a yellow beige, but I gave them a true chino fabric. I don’t have earlier samples in the PC so I could say if they were the same.
Dear Louis,
Somehow I missed the airing of the DARK OLIVE tank.
I couldn’t find the item number to look it up on Linea.
Is it still available, I don’t want to miss it.
Just found it, thank you anyway. Fabulous, love ❤️ the pockets
And deep colors this time around!
Hello, Louis!
I love your tropical, island style maxi dresses. Do you have any coming up soon? I need a new one for a cruise next spring. Thanks for answering.
No, they did select any dresses
Oh, that’s unfortunate! Maybe next year… Thanks again for answering.
Hi Louis!
Every year you bring us dresses. I’m disappointed and can’t wrap my head around the reasoning of the buyer. I know that if it was up to you we would have many more selections and better fabrics. Don’t get me wrong, you do the best that you can with their restrictions. You have made my life so much easier with your detailed descriptions and photos. Very rare for me to shop B&M.
You are a true gem and I appreciate all you do for us.
Dawn
Dawn….it’s really simple….the dress results have not been stellar with too many returns. That’s not to say I won’t do them in the future, but they are not a priority with the buyers.
Hi Louis,
The new colors in the pebble crepe top with inverted pleat (A290929) are posted. I purchased the Azure last night because you previously described the color. Can you also describe the Iris and Copper colors and tell us what color bottom you would style with each of the three colors? Temperatures are now in the high 80’s where I live in California and your pebble crepe is perfect in warm weather. Are new colors coming in the pebble crepe boatneck tunic as well, or other new pieces in pebble crepe? I so appreciate your styling advice. It is such a confidence booster to feel well dressed – which I do with your help!
Since they have posted the availability I will try to post the colors, but it will have to wait until after these shows. This iris is a rich purple and the copper is a rich sienna color. They are vey saturated. There will be a new topmand pant on my 10am show on the 24th
Hi Louis, do you have anything planned in the future similar to the Etruscan necklace and bracelet?
I do have something, not the same, but it is the same length and will be used in the same way. To be worn on it’s own and mixed with other things, but it is in the development stage, so it will be a while before it’s avail.
Terrific! The pictures on your website are very helpful for styling. If I had discovered them sooner, I would have snatched up the Etruscan items in multiples. I try to catch you on the Q as well. Your line is absolutely fabulous. Thank you for your response!
Louis, I don’t know if you know but Lisa Mason’s husband, Gino has passed away from cancer. So sad.
Oh NO….he fought such a long brave battle. They were like two peas in a pod. She must be devastated, and I completely understand losing the love of your life, which Gino was. Thank you for letting me know. I do not have her address so I will reach out to her on her face book page.
Hi, Louis. I want to tell you how much I appreciate my wardrobe of Linea. Today the weather was cool enough to wear one of my all-time favorite jackets – A78354 a the French cuff jacket. I have this in four colors (ivory, navy, ready yellow, and Linea aqua. I think this is one of my top 3 picks in jackets – and I’ve been shopping your line since the start (when item numbers had 4 digits, LOL). Thank you so much for creating such wonderful treasures. It is a testimony to your brilliance and care for quality that these jackets are still great with today’s fashion and still in excellent condition.
Deborah, I have that jacket also, in navy and yellow. Always wanted the Aqua but was never able to get it, sold out before I could. It is an absolutely beautiful jacket, still wearing well. Love Louis’s designs, this one is a treasure.
I just looked it up online. The jacket looks fantastic. But I could see only the ivory. Yellow sounds yumm. I wish Louis would do a similar version again, and in yellow 😊
Hi Louis,
I have your knit pull-on slim ankle pants A265615 in black, navy and dark gray.
They are my go-to pants because they are so slimming, easy to wear, and look fabulous with any sort of top.
I wish I could order them in the chocolate brown and olive colors, but for months and months they have been sold out. I check QVC’s inventory several times a week in hopes that they will be reordered and become available once again.
They appear to be very popular and highly rated. Any idea if they will ever return?
Thank you.
Dear Angela….they have not been reordered at this point, but you are correct, they have been a very popular pant so they may be in the future, but that’s a guess.
Hi Louis
The Linea slim ankle pants A265615 are my favorite pants of all time. They are extremely flattering! I hope QVC reorders them.
Joanne Conwsy
Louis,
When will the perfectly pink pants that go with the perfectly pink lace top become available? I am trying to wait patiently, but it is more and more difficult.
Dear Marcia….hold tight. The Perfectly Pink CAPRI pant will be avail next month….MAY
Im waiting too Marcia
I’m starting to get a small collection of copper pieces and want some guidelines . Do you substitute for gold? Thank you
Dear vickybliss, Copper is not really a substitute for gold. There are certain colors that look great with copper better than gold, and there are certain colors that look much better with gold than copper…..then there are colors that look good with both like black, and turquoise. Copper is a great accent to colors like browns, olive, navy.
Thank you very much. The (J350131) Copper Ox Etruscan Bead Set is on sale for only $27.25. For that price I was able to pick up two sets.
That’s a terrific necklace and a great mixer with other copper pieces like the copper ox fish.
Would you mixed the Green Patina pieces (like the Green Patina Fish) with the copper pieces?
I have mixed the green patina and the copper ox Etruscan necklaces and the Green Patina and the Gold necklaces, so yes, I would mix the copper ox and green patina.
Hi Louis – I often use your blog to search back to prior seasons to spur my memory on colors or past items in my closets, mixing and matching with current items. Lately I cannot seem to get “Archives – Select Month” to work on my laptop or my phone. Any idea if this will be fixed?
Susan
Dear Susan, I don’t know what happened to it, and my tech didn’t know how to retrieve it, so for now it isn’t there. If you type in the search box the name of the item you may be able to find it that way.
Hi Louis – I was just browsing through the pictures you posted on April 1, 2019 with your chino tunic and pants, and in the picture of the hibiscus color, was a necklace that looks like Carnival, but you mentioned it as Mardi Gras – it has the silver tubes with the bright colored beads, like red, green, etc. Can you give me an item # for that? Is it Carnival or Mardi Gras? I don’t see it on the Q yet. Thanks so much!
It is the same number as the Mardi Gras. It is a reorder that will be avail in June and the silver version is the new color.
Louis – hope you are enjoying the weekend. My question regarding the fabulous shantung
jacket-will the lime long strand bead necklace coordinate with the lime shantung?
Thanks.
hello Louis,
I see that colors are listed for the nugget jewelry set, however photos are not available. The listed colors are azure, iris and sienna. Would you mind describing the azure?
Thank you
It’s a deep turquoise like a mallard blue. A very saturated and clear color. It’s not a cloudy or murky color. All colors will match a pebble crepe top. It looks great mixed with the Green Patina Ring necklace
Thank you Louis.
I have the wing collar swing coat/jacket and love it. Is the new Shantung jacket the same fabric weight? Thank you.
Yes…..I don’t recall and I don’t have those samples anymore, but if your jacket is stretch than they are the same fabric.
Just checked the fabric. It has a light stretch. Great fabric – easy and comfortable to wear. Thanks again.
This has more than a slight stretch so it must be different but looks and feels very much the same.
Ah! The shantung at last!! Time to stalk the Q!
Dear Louis,
Do I spot a hint of blue in the India Pink” shantung jacket? Perhaps I am hoping for this and, therefore, imagining a hint of blue.
Your new shantung jackets are exquisite! Thank you!
Well Goldie there isn’t any orange so I guess you might say a hit of blue, as all fuchsias and hot pinks have a little blue.
Very welcome news, Louis. I’m not looking for a blue/reddish pink, but a Hot Pink that tips away from orange is better for me.
HURRAH!
I mean India Pink, not Hot Pink.
