This section is dedicated to and for anyone who would like to post a question or comment on anything so I may give some feedback and hopefully help in anyway possible. Please make sure all comments and questions are done courteously in respect of not only myself but all who view this blog.
Just the answer I hoped for! Thank you SO much for all you create, and for the kindness and caring you show to/for all who so admire you and your work. Blessings on you and all whom you love. You are very dear.
All three orders of “the skirt” have now arrived; not sure how anyone could have chosen between the blue and the latte…both gorgeous, but, now, a question. It seems apparent that there are NO waitlists for the petite, and based on what you have said so often, you are not in the business of repeating items at this point. So, here is the question: the one which I bought for my dearest friend is a few inches too long. I know you said earlier that the waist can be tightened professionally; could the skirt be shortened from the waist professionally? She does not want to ruin it…nor have me return it! Such a dilemma…Thank you in advance.
Dear Melinda…..anyone who is good can usually preform alteration miracles. My best answer to you is to bring the skirt to the professional and ask them. It really shouldn’t be a problem. Bridal tulle dresses are altered all the time. This should be a simple alteration….again, for someone who is good.
Hi Louis,
I wear silver rimmed glasses and am wondering
in your opinion, do gold earrings look goofy
with silver rimmed glasses??
NO Shari….I mix silver and gold in jewelry all the time….Maybe that something you should consider. I would mix a silver and gold roller bracelet…Maybe 3 with the silver in the middle. Wear what every you put on with CONFIDENCE and it will never look wrong!
Hello Louis,
I want to say thank you for helping me find a top to match the black/latte skirt in a color other than black. I would not have had the creativity to put these pieces together. The look is truly amazing! It looks runway. For other ladies who want to have the look; it is a gold tank and lurex hoodie sweater by Belle by Kim Gravel. Louis, I really appreciate you!
Ingrid
Ingrid….I’m so happy this worked for you….I searched and searched, and this was the ONLY thing on QVC that I thought had a chance. I wasn’t sure if you were a lurex hoodie kind of Gal, but some how the name Ingrid, Scandinavian no?, I thought you would like something a little unusual, and more relaxed…..I guess I guessed right! I don’t mind sending some business Kim’s way. We are pals. I do miss seeing some of the people there, but the pros definitely out weight the cons of not going down to QVC!
Louis
I just had to let you know that I may have sold a black trench coat.
My sister is visiting and needed a coat for dinner tonight. I said I have the perfect
coat over your dress- she is wearing with no belt which looks fab.
I must confess that I could not make up my mind on what color.
I tried to restrain myself since I’m here in the South, but failed.
I ended up with an espresso, vino and black. I purchased the black in my larger size for more
layering options. Let’s face it, treasures like these do not come around very often and I knew
I love your ultra suede since I had the black and dfg pants from last year.
I ordered the espresso pants but am still awaiting the stagecoach- they are telling me 11/12.
Once I try the new pants and make sure a good fit then I’ll order loren. Same goes
for the whisper knit sweater- I went with navy first.
thanks again for all you do.
Sarah
ps I did not offer my sister the vino or espresso coats because she would think I was nuts for ordering 3
since I live in Louisiana
Louis, When will you post a Sneak Peek of the ‘coming soon’ Tights, Pantyhose and Knee Highs, please. It’s cold enough now to wear them now.
Seka.
I’m waiting to get the date when they will be posted because I do not have style numbers, but I will give a list soon……Like everything else QVC takes forever!!!! All of the tights and trouser socks are sitting here in the warehouse waiting for QVC to post the pictures!!!!!
I received the blue and latte tulle skirts today and immediately tried them on for my husband with the necklaces. Without a pause he said “WOW, must be LouIs skirts, looks like things you bought in Europe. You are keeping both, right”? These are very Euro, exquisite, and I am going to feel like a million bucks when I wear them. Yes, I will wear this holiday season but they are good for year round events. There is no other designer, not a single one at Q, who offers such elegance. The added bonus is comfort. Thanks for the “yes, I will have one more appetizer” waistband!
I am such a big fan of yours.
Jackie, I am so happy that, one, you got your skirts!!!! and two that you love them….Euro exquisite….that’s quite a compliment……Two thumbs up to your husband!!
Louis, my Latte embroidered skirt arrived, today. This is a museum piece, a true treasure. I am madly, passionately in love! My admiration for your talent knows no bounds! I am the Belle of the Ball in this skirt. A true statement piece. I never want to take it off! I feel special and exquisitely feminine and delicate which is hard at 5’9″!!! Thank you, thank you for the joy you bring me. oxoxoxox Cat
Cat….at 5’9′ you must look like the models!!!So happy you are happy with it. Elaine did a wonderful job manufacturing it, and having my design come to life.
Dear Louis, The film of the villa and thoughts of you and Jac spending time there brought tears to my eyes. In my mind I could see you and Jac enjoying the beauty of the villa and the surrounding area. What lovely memories you have of your travels with Jac. ~ Barbara C.
Dear Barbara, Jac and I were there so many times it was like our summer home, and Andrea and Jean Pierre were so close they made us feel like it was our home. When they bought the villa is was a wreck. They did so much work and restoration. They added the pool, and many terraces. The ancient tower at the far end of the property they converted into a small apartment. It was the showcase of Praiano. Every summer they would have one huge costume party and everyone was invited. It’s strange to think strangers are walking around, swimming in the pool, eating on the terrace, and sleeping in their bedroom where we all laid on their bed watching TV, and looking at the latest movies we would always bring them. They are all gone now. Jean Pierre passed from complications from diabetes 9 months before Jac and Andrea passed from cancer in Feb 2018 only 2 months after Jac. They didn’t know Jac was sick. She wanted it that way. Andrea never knew Jac had passed away. I hope they are all having a Lemoncello sitting on the terrace looking at that fantastic view.
Kate,
You were smart to get the expedited shipping. My WK sweater and both faux suede pants are still “in process” a week after purchasing, SMH, but unfortunately that’s now the norm and sadly expected with QVC. The ONLY purchases I make now on QVC is strictly for Louis’s designs. Nothing else is worth the frustration, shipping costs or overall poor customer experience. It’s been months and months of this. I know this is discussed to great length on their forums/blogs but it appears to go on deaf ears to the leadership who actually handles the planning/organization/logistics of order fulfillment. I almost believe it’s a conspiracy to induce customers to pay the higher shipping costs for expedited shipping for items truly desired to increase their bottom line. I am eagerly anticipating my delivery as I already have outfits planned and the weather is perfect for it but I will patiently wait for their glacial delivery.
I’ll get off my soapbox now. I hope you enjoy your new purchases as I know we all will once we finally get them!
All the best,
Kate
Congrats on receiving ANYTHING from QVC! My items, ordered day before the last show, are starting their crawl across to the West Coast. If QVC were smart, they should put a $ credit on account for their awful service. I’m sure, it wouldn’t be much, but It would be a more meaningful apology. If it weren’t for you, Louis, I’d be gone!
I wish I had an answer. I forward all of your messages to me to my buyer, but she can’t do anything either. She keeps telling me when the new warehouse opens it will be much better, but REALLY!!!!? Chewy, where I buy my dog products ships in a day. This is QVC’s business! It really is unacceptable, so I do appreciate your loyalty to me.
FYI–my sweaters arrived on Monday probably because I always select expedited delivery. QVC delivery is wackier than usual these days and I try not to take chances.
We had a bit of cooler weather and an event to attend. I decided to put my fear of channeling Santa aside and go all in as the “lady in red”. I wore my new WK Scarlet sweater with the matching WK skirt AND the red trench (went with some bronze shoes–actually ones that Jac picked out for me a few years ago for the Oscars) and baby, I owned it! So many compliments, especially from the men in the room. Now, can we have a navy trench to go with the navy WK sweater and skirt?!
Kate…..in a previous life were you in the Navy?!
Louis,
I already alerted the Linea Ladies on the QVC Forum to my prized new sweaters. They are a dream come true. Yes, the ladies should not have to wait so long.
Oh, Louis, my Cranberry and Navy WK v-necks arrived today. Superb styling. Love the ENR knit. That neckline! Cannot wait to wear any number of dramatic necklaces I have from the Linea collection with these sweaters. I tried my newest, the goldtone El Morocco (J483112), with both of them, and the look is stunning. Going back for the Red v-neck. Thank you for this chic and flattering look.
Dear Goldie….I think you are the first to receive your sweaters…..so glad you liked them…..please let the ladies know….they have been waiting so long…..too long!
Dear Louis… It lifts my spirits that I can make you happy, as you have made me so happy! Since you noticed very few changes at the villa, I can envision you and Jac enjoying life there with your friends. There are more videos of it on YouTube, if you’d like. Sophia Loren still has her villa in Amalfi, not far from the Santa Caterina Hotel where we stayed in August. Thank you for your warmth and openness with your clientele. You are amazing and much loved.
Hello Louis! Here is the answer to a question you asked me in this section back in August. Knowing we were returning to the Amalfi Coast, you’d asked if I could find out what became of a villa you and Jac used to visit in Praiano which was owned by your friends, Andrea Phister and Jean Pierre Dupre. After a little sleuthing, our friends told me it is now a luxury rental called Villa Lilly, owned by Costa Land Company. Here’s a link to a video of this gorgeous place which may bring back fond memories: https://youtu.be/VBRUkyV-8AI. Now the last time I answered your question about our Amalfi visits my response was deleted, perhaps in the belief I was promoting something. I can assure you and your administrator I have no connection to this business. I’m simply happy to answer your question. As always my wardrobe for our travels is almost exclusively Linea, and I thank you for the understated elegance and grace of your designs. Currently two sweaters and the tulle skirt are on their way to me! Thanks for all you do for us.
Love and blessings,
Pam
Dear Pamela…..THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! You don’t know what this means to me. I have wondered many times what had happened to Andrea and Jean Pierre’s magnificent villa. For almost the 20 years I worked at Anne Klein I would go to the villa twice a year for at least 10 days and work with Andrea on the Anne Klein Couture Shoe Collection. Jac would come when I would be there in late June and the weather was perfect. I have so many pictures of us there. We loved Andrea and Jean Pierre and they stood up for us at our wedding in Las Vegas. Andrea was a brilliant shoe designer and Jean Pierre was his partner in the business and in life. I’m so happy to see they made very few changes to the villa. Even the rooms are decorated with some of the same furniture. The outside with the lounge chairs and the dining table on the upper terrace is exactly the same. In the picture of the three people, The man in the middle is Jean Carlo. He was the caretaker, and it looks as if he still is. Andrea had many many celebs to his home including Sophia Loren and Barbara Streisand. I am so happy to have this video and the name of the villa to look at from time to time……Yes, many many incredible memories!
Dear Louis,
I am planning to wear your yellow plaid blazer with your white button-diwn shirt, and a sleeveless yellow sweater vest that you did several years ago. The vest is v in the front and back, and I have a matching yellow jacket you designed to go with the vest. I think it will be a good looking outfit, along with a pair of your black pants. I hope you approve! Your designs are awesome and timeless!
Regards,
Alicia
Alicia…it sounds perfect…..glad to hear you saved your yellow pull over!
Hi Louis, I just checked the Q program guide and the guide indicates we will enjoy a Linea hour on 11/27/2019 7 PM-8 PM. Accurate? Also, how does your garden grow – any new photos? 😉
Hi Lynne……Yes, after Jen and I said that the last show was the last full hour of the season, a few “hits” that Jen was supposed to do were canceled due to their new scheduling [having the overnight hours being taped programs only…..so they gave us this last minute show! I believe it’s QVC2?……….My garden is finished for the season. Everything has been cut down…..not a pretty sight.
In response to Sarah who suggested the DFG WK top with embroidered sleeves, I own that already & wore it to a post wedding brunch with the DFG ponte pants last weekend. The caramel plaid blazer went to a local brewery where we met the bride’s family with the caramel ponte pants & an older WK top in the sienna (A210367) which is a little darker than the caramel, but works together.
My entire wardrobe was Linea this past weekend. For the wedding I wore the boysenberry lace outfit with the solid tank. The Venetian jewelry in the boysenberry color completed the outfit.
Hi Louis, are you bringing in more petite pants or skirts in the Dark Forest Green (A303147 – Petite Pull-On Super Ponte Knit Pants)?
I purchased the black blazer and would like to get the dark forest green, but need a matching bottom. As you know they are all gone.
I would love to get the blazer before it is gone. Please tell me there will be more dark forest green bottoms coming!
Love all that you do!
Sara….there is no more new apparel coming for this year. I don’t know what size you need but there are still more Dk. Forest Green Faux Suede pants avail. Those are the pants I showed on Kate in the video. The DFG Blazer is beautiful and you should not be deterred from getting it because there aren’t ant bottoms to match. I have shown it with the taupe ponte and the heather gray ponte pant. Navy would also look good with the green blazer. The green blazer and the other colors probably won’t be coming back so you really shouldn’t miss out.
Hi Louis!
I always try to shop my closets and keep a mental note of what I have. Not sure how I’ll wear it yet but I will play around. The Champagne blouse looks good to me and plays well with the Highs’s and lows of the Latte embroidery. Also have a black charmuese blouse that buttons up and I think it came with a tie that might also work with the skirt. There’s alot that can be worn with the skirt. Off to leave a review.
Good Afternoon Louis!
The Latte Tulle skirt arrived today. I went to my closet and paired this with the skirt: A213624 (Champagne) Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Button Front Charmeuse Blouse w/ Tie.
Dawn
Hi Dawn…..I’m assuming the colors work well together> Wow, that’s what i call shopping your closet. I totally forgot about that blouse. How do you plan on wearing it…tucked in with a belt, out belted maybe with a black ribbon or passementrie belt or out loose?
Hi Louis,
I would love to see more Linea Leisure items.
Many of us Linea Ladies either work from home, are retired or live a more casual lifestyle. We still want to look appropriate and be comfortable in beautiful clothes!
As I have changed over my wardrobe to fall/ winter, I find that I need more LL. Jeans are not something I chose to wear at home. More pants to wear with my WK sweaters and more tops and knits would be most welcome additions!
Thanks for being you and for dressing me so beautifully for nearly 20 years.
A day without wearing Linea is like a day without sunshine!
Chris’s color suggestions are perfect! But how disappointing if that v-neck doesn’t get reordered. If it doesn’t get re-ordered, how about doing those colors in that elbow sleeve one (A347450)? I love that style…the sleeves are a fashionable length & the neckline is extremely flattering.
Chris
I thought the same way so I ordered this sweater
https://www.qvc.com/Linea-by-Louis-DellOlio-Whisper-Knit-Sweater-with-Embroidery.product.A343152.html?sc=SRCH
for matching caramel and dfg.
It was not my preferred style, but I wanted the match too.
Consider trying – hopefully your size is available
Sarah
Good afternoon Louis,
I know it’s early to ask but could the WK sweaters in the V neck, if they get reordered, come in sapphire, caramel, deep forest green & turquoise? I really would love if I had tops to match off the Big Deal blazers.
I’m not the only one with this specific colors request.
Regards,
Chris
Dear Chris….all the colors you mentioned are good, but I have my doubts it will get reordered.
Louis, I would like to thank you for years of gorgeous outfits. I have so many of your timeless pieces, from your boiled wool, embroidered pieces to your shantung suits to your gorgeous lace pieces to your current collection. You’ve helped me to be fashionable at affordable prices. You’re an artist! Thank you!
You are very welcome. I’m happy I can do this for you
Hi Louis, I loved the longer Vee neck Whisper Knit sweaters and ordered all four colors. Also ordered all the Faux suede pants and trenches. I wore the faux suede pants and the turtle necks that match and the lamb jackets all last winter. I hope you will think about some suede pants in navy or the beautiful sapphire blue. Lastly please keep doing the sketches so we can print them out. It was very helpful in finding the shoes you choose for the models and a great reminder of how things were put together. I was a Textile Design Major at Moore in Philadephia so I really love and appreciate your chioce of prints and fabrics. I don’t know how you make such wonderful clothes for so little a price. Thank you for everything you do.
Hi Louis, of course alteration would be by a professional, definitely not moi! Thanks again. Have a great weekend.
Terri
Then Terri, I don’t see a problem. They can always tighten the elastic.
Thank you for answering my question on the no return of the black jet bead tassel necklace Lois. I am so disappointed.I have missed out on a true classic beauty. I wish there was a site where one could go to trade or sell Linea items. I have recently lost weight and have many items that I can no longer wear as they are too big. So far I have not been able to part with them. If any one out there would like to part with their black tassel necklace, I would pay top dollar to buy…just saying.
I, so, agree with all that you said. I sent a private message to you on your facebook page of a Charles James dress for The March of Dimes Ball in 1953 worn by Gypsy Rose Lee. My husband worked for Charles at that time and lo and behold he is in the background with the runway list! I thought you would enjoy seeing it!!! Cat
Dear Somersault….I’m not very face book savvy and don’t know how to retrieve you private message. That’s an incredible story about Charles James.
Good morning Louis! I think you missed my question (#47). I had a hard time finding it myself. LOL. Just need to know, can the waistband on the embroidered skirt be taken in a bit without ruining the flow of the beautiful skirt? I see the PM relaxed waist is 32.5. A bit large for past medium waist measurements in other boho styles and long skirts (29.5-31.5 I have noticed). Your designs are impeccable as always. Bless you for keeping in touch with all of us this way.
Terri
Dear Terri, I didn’t miss your question. Sorry I didn’t reply, but I forwarded the question to my manu. to be sure I answered you correctly. I will probably here on Monday. I didn’t want to give you wrong info. Would this be an alteration you would do or have a professional do?
Louis, I saw that Zac Posen is shutting down his operations. Made me so sad because I think he is one of the young talented designers. As you know “Seventh Avenue” can be brutal and it was not easy during your time at Anne Klein. It is even more difficult now because it has changed so much. It is now about Boards of Directors, Corporate entities and sometimes over expansion and no longer about talent and design. So many of the “Houses” have struggled to keep afloat. Ralph Lauren is one that comes to mind that is still able to successfully survive. So many of the past are, just, a memory.
I remember, years ago, in France, the fabric houses supported the French designers, Dior, Givenchy, Chanel, etc. I do not know if they still do so. It made a big difference.
Corporations have no respect for the creative process! I remember you telling me years ago after you left Anne Klein that they sold off most of the runway pieces for nothing! What comes to mind was that spectacular Saworski crystal dress Jac wore that closed the show!!!! That dress and Jac has stayed in my mind all these years. What a sin to lose that treasure.
Thanks for listening! oxoxox Cat
Dear Somersault, I am so sorry to hear about Zac. I didn’t know. I remember when he first came onto the scene, the new rising star……..Yes, the business has changed COMPLETELY. Today I think it’s the opposite of the fabric houses supporting the designers. Then the designers owned their own businesses. To day corporation “bottom Liners” own the companies, and could care less about creativity. The bottom line is their GOD. If Ralph sold his company there would be huge changes in that company, and the huge extravaganzas that Ralph produces would all end…….Chanel, under Karl Lagerfeld bought struggling specialty companies that produce embroideries, shoes, gloves etc. These companies are the best of the best that Chanel used. If they weren’t saved by Chanel they would all have disappeared forever. I wonder if Lagerfeld hadn’t had the company save them if they would be here….I was very lucky to have started my career when I did. It was truly the golden age of American Sportswear. There were hundreds of stores all over the country for smaller, and larger companies to sell to. Calvin Klein, Donna Karan and Anne Klein have all closed there Designer Businesses because corporations took over. Many aren’t even in the fashion business. They have destroyed the industry IMHO. I’m sure there will be more and more closings. I am glad that I am at the end of my career and not just starting.
I haven’t received the Cranberry yet, but I know I will love the length of this because I prefer longer lengths. And the V-neck is my favorite neckline.
I only purchased the yellow sweater in my usual Linea size. I am also interested in the red and navy, but I want to see fit especially length prior to ordering any additional.
Louis that’s too bad the new WK v-neck only did fairly. I hope that won’t negatively impact future WK orders. Maybe it was the limited color choices? I only bought the Cranberry because I don’t do Navy or Yellow, & the Scarlet was another red & I didn’t want to spend that much on 2 red sweaters. So I only got the one. If there had been something in the green or brown family, I definitely would have purchased a second sweater. Nancy (above) mentioned Blackberry, that would be gorgeous…also, that Mahogany you did that time is one of my all time favorite colors! I love your deep rich colors!
Thanks for the fast response…Have blue necklace ordered…Iam so excited for skirt and necklace!!!!
Hi Louis!
On the gorgeous embroidered skirt, I see the M relaxed waist measurement is 32.5. I have so many of your skirts from the regular bohos to the florals, to the paisleys, etc. and the M relaxed waist measurements range from 29.5 -31.5 in the past. Can the waist be altered on this one in case it needs to be taken in a bit? There are PM left in the smaller sizes, but no PS. (Yay, Great for the sales!) I have just never seen a M before in your skirts with 32.5 inch relaxed. I just need reassurance the waist can be altered a bit. Many thanks for your help on this one.
Terri H
I got the new shirt in blue and wanted to get the necklace, Glitterati, in blue however there is a review on the site that says the necklace does not sparkle like glass beads…Is this necklace suppose to sparkle? On tv it appeared to sparkle. Love this skirt.. I plan to wear it with boots as my gatherings are not formal…I plan to wear simple black top…Wanted that necklace. Sometimes I wonder if you realize just how talented you are… Your fashions are the best!!!!!! The fit is always perfection .
Dear Tricia….I read that review too….It’s not sparkly sparkly because some of the blue beads are opaque, but some are iridescent and they do sparkle. There are two different beads that are combined in the necklace…..Plus I also had one of the black jet necklaces mixed which sparkle a lot. Trust me, with the blue emb skirt and a black sweater or top you will love the beads. They also match everything in SAPPHIRE!
A v-neck whisper knit, as you and we all know, does not a “cluster” make. Would have loved a midi skirt, a cardigan, a long sweater cardigan, and a turtle in some new oolors. Would love to see you come up with something to wear with the petrol blue midi and cardi pieces from a couple of years ago. Or adding to the blackberry pieces with variations on that theme. I did not get the v neck WK new this season because I have other Linea knit options from years ago that are sleeveless and v neck which work well with the new big deal jackets as well as the reorder blazers. But this doesn’t mean I’m not dying for WK options this year and pieces to round out previous clusters or a new cluster in perfectly pink or a new cluster in Linea navy would be wonderful!. I’m grateful for all the WK’s in my arsenal but always eager for more! 😉
Hi Louis
I was looking at your photo’s – specifically the last belted suit photo. I liked the necklace. You refer to the necklace as Twisted Sister. I looked at your jewelry on QVC online. There is no Twisted Sister named there. Is Twisted Sister a nickname? If it is what is the real name of the necklace. Thank you.
Hi Joanne….yes, “Twisted Sister” is the name I gave to it, but QVC didn’t enjoy the same sense of humor I have so it will be called something else. You couldn’t find it because it hasn’t been posted yet. Probably towards mid or end of Nov.
Hello Louis,
Thank you for being YOU! You really are special. My question is this. Will the Jet Black tassel necklace be reordered? I hesitated on it and because it was on waitlist assumed maybe it was coming back. It is now not showing at all. I want this necklace so bad! I looked on Ebay but no luck. I am hoping it is being reordered. Would love it in a burgundy color also. Can yo adivse? Aos, I am ecstatic that the Shantung is coming in Sapphire! Yay! Thank you!!!!
Dear Bebe, no the tassel necklace is not being reordered. The wait list was too small to warrant a reorder. We are finding that no matter how successful a style is, with few exceptions like the fish, the reorders sit in inventory. So we have decided that instead of reordering styles we will concentrate on bringing new in. This way the inventory will always be fresh, and when a style sells out it is done. This will keep the jewelry more exclusive.
Good morning Louis,
FYI I asked if the Tortue necklace would be reordered. You said no. Wha-la!! All four colors showed up this morning. Nice surprise.
jackie….I will always tell you the truth. These necklace showed up from somewhere? Maybe returns that have been sitting on a shelf, but I can guarantee you the Tortue was not reordered. There must be very few, and they too will be gone in days. The same thing happened with the seed bead necklaces. All of a sudden, to my surprise, all of the colors were avail???? Colors that hadn’t been seen for more than a year! They were all gone in a matter of hours.
Louis, the suede trench coat is sooo YUMMY! That was my first thought when I put it on. I got the black. I LOVE that the pockets are partially lined with the suede.
Sylvia….where it in good health!
Dear Louis,
I am waiting anxiously for this Winter’s whisper knit sweaters; they have been my go to for so many years and I love them!
Are there any crew neck styles coming by any chance? A295878 was perfect for me and I own it in numerous colors. But, also, the shorter crewneck you did a couple of years ago is one I need more of.
Is there a black top/sweater designed for the new embroidered skirt coming with a shorter silhouette?
Thank you for patiently answering my questions.
Best,
Debra
Dear Debra…..sorry to say no to all of your questions. I have sketched WK sweaters for next year….let’s hope they buy some. I was actually surprised to see that the new V-neck only did fairly, especially after everyone wanted WK sweaters?
Hi Louis,
I must have missed it, but could you or Jennifer explain how the hook at the top of the suede coat works? I finally got it undone but was afraid I was going to break it. I appreciate your help. I actually ordered a second coat in black after I received the vino. It is just perfection! I also bought the new scarlet sweater, the black whisper knit turtleneck and the black whisper knit tunic that is only available now in purple. I have emailed qvc to request more whisper knits. Thanks
Dear Kathleen if you can’t see how the hook works than I can only assume that it is flattened. One side is the “hook” and the other side is the “eye” You have to put the hook into the eye. You may have to raise the eye if it got flattened.
Hello Louis,
I bought the exquisite embroidered skirt in black/latte. I look awful in black near my face and want to know if you could recommend a top to go with the skirt that isn’t black. Many thanks.
Ingrid….this is a good question and I will need some time to think about it. Unfortunately I don’t have anything in inventory that will work with the skirt. There aren’t even many black pieces avail, so I will have to think of things that i could see in general.
Ingrid…….sorry black doesn’t work for you as a top. Unfortunately I looked through all of my inventory, and there is nothing that I have that I would suggest…..however Kim Kravel, who I love, does have a very, what looks to me, a subtle gold lurex tank that just might work, A301586. She also has a lurex hoodie in the same gold, A288756. if you want to go that route. It is a more casual, unexpected look with the skirt, but since it is lurex it could look good. Other wise you should look for other lurex pale gold tops that aren’t too glittery. I tried my Alabaster top but it was too pale. Maybe a pale camel sweater set?
Thanks Louis for your response and ideas- Once I get the skirt I will play with the items you suggested. I also decided to purchase the black elbow sleeve
whisper knit as an additional option.
It has finally gotten cool here so tomorrow I’ll be wearing one of the suede trenches when I do
the annual visit to the cemeteries.
Sarah
Can I wear a sequined top with the blue skirt to a black tie wedding? Too much?
Dear Barbara….it depends on the top. If it’s scattered baby sequins on a simple top that doesn’t compete with the skirt than it might work. I much prefer a beautiful neckline on a simple black top with the coordination Glitterari necklaces. I think the skirt should be the focal point. I wouldn’t want the top to compete with the skirt. If the top isn’t overdone and totally covered in sequins than it could work, but you don’t want that GILDED LILY look.
What a great show, and the star was that Blue skirt with the black Sweater. It was PERFECT, it looks like cashmere. They really should have reordered it again, if only in black. The collar balances the skirt perfectly. I remember that one from the past, but it looks as new NOW as it did then. Today I got the beautiful navy sweater, along with both reds, and both suede pants. I have a cowl neck sequin tank that would be gorgeous with the skirt but that sweater….ooh la la. I should have gotten it when I had the chance.
Dear Louis,
And … Point d’Esprit hosiery??? Ooooh, I can hardly wait 🙂 Will it mix with the embroidered skirt, or is that too much texture?
Thank You!
Cathy in PA
The Point d’Esprit will look great with the skirt
Mr. D, I have received, and am deeply grateful for, the black trench belt. Thank you and Rowena for “saving” my gorgeous coat. Best to you both! On to QVC to review the scarlet blazer…love!
Dear Melinda, I know Rowena and I are happy we were able to do this for you…..enjoy…………..much Love…………Louis
Hi Louis,
Thinking about the new J483440, Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Beaded Tassel Grande Necklace it is beautiful. Can you share thoughts on this item? Designed for anything in particular? Many thanks –
Dear Lynne….I will be posting my photos on my web site shortly…
hi Louis
I was looking for a few more styling tips for the new skirts.
a what are your thoughts on pairing the crush velvet in sapphire or the
vneck knit long sleeve in sapphire with the new skirt?
I also noticed the faux shantung will be in sapphire next year- would that work too??
thanks as always
Sarah
Dear Sarah…..all of your suggestions are good possibilities…..But you would have to try them on to make sure they work proportion wise. The velvet top is the trickiest. It depends on how far down it comes on the skirt. I would this any of the Sapphire sweaters would look good. When you say V-neck sapphire, I’m assuming you mean the wrap over collar that creates a high V. It would give the skirt a more casual look worn with boots. I like it. The elbow sleeve scoop neck WK in Sapphire would look good too….either worn out…maybe belted or tucked in definitely belted…The off the shoulder georgette peasant top in the black would look fabulous too…The ivory or black blouses with the boat necklines and bell sleeves….would look great tucked into the skirts too…one has the scoop back with the strap across the shoulders and the other is plain in the back….The Sapphire Shantung should look great as well as the sapphire leather jacket for two completely different looks….Whoever owns the leather jacket in Alabaster could also wear it with the Latte skirt….It’s time to PLAY
Hi Louis!
Just finished watching (dvr) the show. I ordered the Latte skirt and the Almond Cathedral top. Glad I picked up the Scarlet blazer when it was first posted ’cause as you know it sold out.
Now can we talk about that gorgeous Flower Blossom Black Jet Beaded statement necklace. Also admiring the sheer black dotted hosiery.
Thanks for all you do!
Dawn
Hi Louis,
This morning I bought the faux suede loden pants, to wear with my loden trench, along with other Linea items. When I get a new piece I always find many possibilities in my closet. I already have last year’s faux suede pants in caramel. They go beautifully with a Linea jacket from a few years back which is a nubby part wool fabric.Today I also bought the v neck sweater in navy. I would love to see the jean style pant brought back in navy, along with other colors. I have it in walnut and to me is the perfect pant in fit, style and comfort. What I like about accumulating your pieces is that they spark my imagination in how to combine them, with nothing seeming dated. To me fashion is both self expression and entertainment.
Hi Louis – I am watching your show today on the Q, and have picked up quite a few lovely things. I have a question – Brenda was wearing a twist necklace in sort of a cranberry color, but I can’t find it on the Q. do you have an item number? Hopefully it will be available soon – as It was stunning! Not sure what colors it comes in – but – as with so many of your things -I fell in love with it!
Hi Joanna, That was a sneak peek….it’s an entwined glass faceted bead necklace with metal disc beads mixed in. It should be avail next month which is right around the corner. Chantal was wearing the black jet and silver version with the black blazer so you can review the video.
Louis!!!
Can we please have a sneak peek f the twist necklace Brenda was wearing in the 11:00 show??? I kept rewinding to get a good look but your sneaks are soooo much better!
Hugs!
Bernadette….as soon as i get the style number I will post….it’s due next month which is soon!
Good Morning Louis!
Jennifer is doing a fabulous job, AND we get to talk to you here from the comfort of your home … how lucky are we? So far 😉 … I got a lot of WK sweaters lol … and … BOTH embroidered skirts. Walter made me do it; he says he loves that skirt.
Thank You, dear designer and friend,
Cathy in PA and Walter
Cathy….Walter has good taste. Those skirts are well worth the money….you will be very pleased you got them
LDO–apologies if this has been asked…does the new Scarlet red WK sweater match back to the Scarlet red WK skirt you did a while back?
Yes Kate…all Scarlet Reds “match”
I awoke at 8:15 expecting to see Jennifer on the recorded 5AM show on QVC2. Instead it was a Gifts Under $50 program. I ordered at midnight the Cathedral tops in almond & blue & 3 of the WK tops.
Dear Louis, what happened to the pearl torsade you gave us a sneak peak to yesterday? Poof, it’s disappeared from this site and hasn’t been posted to the q site. I hope that it’s still coming as I just purchased the cranberry sweater to wear it with.
Ginny, that was my mistake. I hit publish instead of save. It hasn’t been delivered yet so it’s a little early, but there are many new things that have recently been posted. You should check them out.
Indeed. Well, a girl can dream can’t she? Thanks for the quick reply.
P.S. Just ordered the boot leg suede pant. Excited!
Is the whisper knit turtleneck (of which I own six at least) coming in new colors? QVC looks like it is showing placeholders for luggage tan, persimmon, C7Pbplum, walnut. (With 421 five star ratings I would not be surprised.) Can you enlighten me?
Dear Lee, the turtleneck has not be reordered this year? I know WHAT??? Hopefully they will reorder it for next year.
