I was checking my whisper knit skirts and I found a plum color skirt that I already have and it match’s my new plum tunic and pants. Did you do this color before? I don’t want to order the new skirt if I already have them. So what colors have you done in this skirt before?
Sharon I honestly don’t remember. I’ve done many skirts in many colors over the last 20 years.

Joanne, that’s the reason I do them. I was so upset with their photos I had to do something about it. They rarely do a good photo. How can you screw up a pencil skirt??? The jacket is unrecognizable. My videos will be coming tonight, Sat and Sun

Hi Lewis. I ordered my pieces from what is available today–eight pieces for under $600 which was less than I thought it might be for my going a bit overboard beyond my original plan! Question: could you describe the WK TN coming? I have the mock necks from last year with the split sides–are the new ones as long and do they have split sides too? Thank you for all you have done. It is nothing short of masterful!
Nancy….the body is a classic sweater body. It isn’t long so it will work under the jacket as well as the cardigan. It has a true TN in the same rib as the cardigan. There are no side slits.

Good Morning Louis! After carefully perusing all of the pieces listed at QVC – and SORELY missing the sleeveless turtleneck and the long cardigan pieces either not yet there or not yet posted – I’m a little leary about ordering the clusters without the missing pieces. Any idea when these will be received and logged in???? Also, and perhaps you have heard nothing, when are the reordered TCF big deal blazers from last Fall going to be available in the Navy and the Bright Pink? I know it is a total crap shoot to try and guess how long shipping is taking these days so nothing you say is going to disappoint unless they are not coming at all which we know is not going to happen.

I’d hate for your size to be gone by the 18th, The plum pant which has been post now for a few days is getting low in quantities.There are only 220 reg grey pants total!…and 182 in petite
My grey pant A298446 is super ponte with a slim leg. I have the same pant in a heathered gray but this is kind of a deep steel grey. Is your new WK cardi coming in your new grey that matches this new grey?

Nancy the lamb leather jacket is finished, no new colors. The slim faux suede pant will be coming in Dec under a new number because the old number was killed.

Is the Grey of the new A384504 PONTE Pant the same as the grey of my A298446 ponte pant. (not the heather grey but the more solid grey that might have been called steel gray). Will there be a WK cardi that goes with the new grey so I should get this new grey pant?

Ruth…I don’t have that pant to compare. I would hate for you to get the companion pieces and not have the right grey pant. This is also a slim leg, and I’m not sure what the other pant leg is? If it helps you to make your mind up this new grey will be my standard going forward.

Dear Louis, Thank you for answering my question about which necklaces go with what. Of course you were absolutely right that status necklaces will go with black bisque and plum and that the caramel triple strand is best on black in that group. Now the challenge will be to stick to the plan! There are so many wonderful things coming!

Sorry, but it will not be avail until Oct/Nov. It is too early to give the information.
Clarification on previous post—Will WK Carmel pieces from this year, go with Carmel faux suede pants from previous season?
I haven’t checked, but they should. There will always be a variation due to different fabrics, but that’s what makes the mixing of fabrics interesting

Louis, is the new dark grey WK midi skirt the same shade as the grey one done previously?
Grace…..I don’t have the older skirt so I can’t answer you. I would think not exactly the same. Greys vary a lot even if they are both dark.
I forgot to add that I found the Smoke color to be enchanting. It had a mysterious appeal about it.
For some reason, the Grey shade make me think of the Smoke you had for the Feather Jersey and, I think, in the safari shirt set and the 4-tier Boho skirt (and a WK sweater or two). Am I correct? Are they similar to one another?

Hi Louis, would like your expert advice on when to wear a double breasted blazer vs a single one. I have the black double breasted blazer with the cutaway hems and the new one looks great too. But I am not a black person usually, so wondering if it’s too many haha. Is there a body type that works well for a certain type of blazers or is there a particular outfit that looks great with one type better than the other? How do you choose what to wear when? 😀
Pratt, first of all there are NO RULES…Wear your clothes whenever you want!!!!!As for body typed working with what, again there are no rules. It so depends on how a person is built and proportioned and how the jacket/blazer is cut. One woman can try on a DB blazer and it looks bad, but the same woman could try on another DB blazer and it look great….I’ve seen it so I know it to be true. If you already have black jackets and your not a black person then go for the Plum….however a so called “not a black person”, can always wear a black jacket with a pretty flattering color under it. That’s what will be near the face.

Dear Lynne, the pencil skirt is 24 inches long…..The jacket is will be avail in the Bisque, Plum and Black only. Not all colors of the Big Deal Cardigan will also have a jacket. Between the reorder Boot leg Super ponte pant and the new slim pant there is a color pant in each of the BD cardigan colors.

Dear Elaine….I posted a video of the storm on my website take a look. There wasn’t any rain but the wind was fierce! It was so loud you can’t hear me speaking on the video. There were so many trees down and limbs. All of my trees and hydrangeas are burned by the sea spray. That will be it for the season since it’s already August. Roads are blocked with trees and traffic lights aren’t working so the traffic is terrible. I had to go to UPS, but it was closed due to no power, so that’s it…I’m staying home. I had no internet or phones until 1pm today……just in time for me to see the Yankees loose!!

Thank you Seka for letting us know that the long WK skirt is the same style as before. I had been wondering! Very excited to see this WK collection Louis. It seems like forever for your August shows. I don’t know if you have ever done an A-line type of whisper knit skirt (knee length or just below knee), but I would be interested in this type of skirt to add to my wardrobe in the future too.
I am also quite excited to see what the new suede skirt will look like. I absolutely love your faux suede. It is so very comfy and keeps me warmer in the winter!
Dear Karen….I have done two A-line WK skirts in the past, but they just didn’t perform as well as the straighter pencil styles which always reorder,The faux sued will be an A-line style.

Oh, Louis, how I love your stories! I loved when Jac would post her memories! Many, many years ago in the Bronx was a store called Loehman’s and every once in awhile they would have a Norell, since I was still very young even at that discount price it was way out of my budget but they were beautiful! Many, many years later…..The Lighthouse for the Blind would have a celebrity sale for charity of outfits by known designers. Jimmie was able to purchase a Norell red sequin gown owned by Joan Bennett for my mother. It was a perfect fit, my mother was tiny like Joan Bennett. My mother was in seventh heaven, she wore it to her 75th Birthday party and when she passed, we buried her in it! She was all set for a party!
I ordered your Eyelet skirt, yesterday, one in black and one in white. I ordered both lengths because I wanted one to be on the shorter side. Eagerly awaiting delivery!
I was thinking how fortunate you were to be in the design field at the time you were. It has changed so much, drastically and not for the better. For you, it was the right time and the right place. You are so right about the right place at the right time…..Anne Klein was at the forefront of American Sportswear, before Calvin and Ralph. It was the Golden Age of American Sportswear…..before conglomerates came in to ruin everything.

Watching “Sex and The Single Girl” last evening on TCM. In a night club scene Lauren Bacall is wearing a beautiful sequence gown, appeared dark grey or black. I was able to look it up and it is a Norman Norell, though he is uncredited on the film. Loved all the clothes in that movie.

Elaine, Lauren Bacall was a very good client of Norman Norell. When I graduated high school my uncle got me a summer job at Norman Norell before I was to start Parson School of Design….1966. I was a go for, and did anything I was asked to do. One morning I was asked to bring a cup of black coffee into the models room. They had special china which I used. I walked into the model’s room and there stood Lauren Bacall in a tiny bra and panties. I though I would loose it and shake the coffee right out of the cup when she reached out to me for the coffee. I handed it to her, she said thank you, and I immediately left, but I will never forget it. Years later at some special fashion event that Jac and I attended, I happened to meet her again. She was standing outside waiting for her car or taxi. I offered her to give her a ride in my limo. She accepted. It was freezing out. In the car I told her about our first meeting. She laughed with her deep voice, and that was the last time I saw her in person.

Louis, Very sorry to hear that there will not be tights to go with the fall colors. I bought multiples of everything in Linea Body last year.
Linea Ladies: the fleece lined tights are the best around (I wore them almost every day last winter, still in top shape), and the fleece lined socks made great gifts at the holidays. The point d’esprit are recommended by Louis to go with the Coquette skirt we all have. Trouser socks lovely. And so on. Let’s make sure we all left good reviews, and finish any stocking up, so that the QVC buyers will let Louis bring us more of these. And Animal Instinct tights again 🙂
I would have bought the point d’esprit set if had been available for sale before the holidays. I may purchase them for the holidays this year if there are any parties happening. Part of the reason many items sit in stock IMO is the timing of when they are available for sale and the ridiculously long shipping times–even before the virus. Same for some of the jewelry.
Since I’ve been staying at home, my Linea Leisure pants A262070 are getting a real workout. They are good for those of us who are approaching our Quarantine 15.
I would love to have some capri/pedal pusher length in this style. I have some of your old capris, but I want some with same waistband, pockets and leg as the A262070–not tight like a legging. I have the Ponte capris, but want something in the cotton/span fabric.
I imagine next spring is already a done deal, but just an idea for at the future

Dear CGee….unfortunately there will be no new product added. Since all of the items we brought in last fall are all still avail in all sizes and colors, the decision was made that nothing new would be added until the inventory levels decrease. I’m not happy about this but if the product isn’t selling there is nothing to be done. Frankly, after the success the line initially had I’m surprised it has done so poorly. We brought in many new items. the sheer tights and trouser socks, the fleece lined tights and trouser socks, the lace and point d’ Esprit fancy 2 pack etc, but even thought the reviews were most favorable it still hasn’t preformed. Maybe this fall/winter it will pick up?

Mr. “O” oh me oh my. All 3 of my skirts came yesterday. I had originally ordered the blue and black, however I went back to your video and decided I had to have the white as well and so glad I did. They are beautiful and the fabric is so soft and delicious. I did not expect the look and feel of high end fabric. In the stores the price would have been unaffordable for me. As lovely as your presentation always are when I see it in person I am always blown away. When I was in the work force I worked for 10 years and then home raising my family and then decided to return to my profession for another 10 years after the family were grown. For work I wore only white..White dress. white shoes and white stockings and worked long hours so no need to have much in the way of nice clothes. But now I need them. Where we live we have so much to do. The theater out to dinner ect. I am blessed that you have come to the Q and I can always look and feel beautiful. And the compliments I receive when I go out put a smile on my face.Aways compliments from friends and strangers..Even men I do not know. You always have the best fabric and the best designs THANKYOU…

Just have a quick question…….I now own your beautiful Anniversary Bangle and can’t wait to get the matching ring and earrings. However, is it possible for you to suggest/dictate/insist or otherwise have a say in how the ring and earrings will be shipped? QVC has mailed (via the post office) the large majority of your jewelry to me regardless of the cost and upon arrival has caused much aggravation (couldn’t spell agita). The boxes, should they even arrive in a reasonable amount of time, have been crushed, bent or torn. I always hold my breath until I make sure that the jewelry is okay. This certainly doesn’t reflect the proper respect for your talent and creativity that so many of us are glad you share. Louis, Thinking about purchasing the Inset Lace Top A351465 – to wear with my Shantung Band Collar jacket in Espresso. My Question: Would you pair the MOCHA inset lace top with the Espresso Shantung jacket OR would you prefer the GRAPHITE under the Espresso jacket? Or another option? I can play as after a long hunt I finally got ALL of last years jackets in my new smaller size (16) and have slowly worked to acquire all this years colors in the proper size. I love to watch Jack Hannah’s show on Saturday morning and guess where he was this week…….visited the Samburu people! The men had the most beautiful and very intricate beaded neck collars on and they dressed Jack up in their typical attire. It was a hoot! They.really like bright vibrant colors. I will think of this show when I wear my Samburu bracelet and earrings. You nailed their love of gorgeous eye catching colors!
