Dear Louis,
I am trying to interpret the meaning of QVC’s commercial dance. I think I “get” it, but I’m not certain. For a few weeks I had a waitlisted order for the 3-Bar Necklace (J325472) in gunmetal. Yesterday, QVC cancelled my order. Does this mean that there is no longer any hope for this necklace?
Since I also have a waitlisted order for the Y-Bar Necklace (J325471) in gunmetal, am I looking forward to the cancellation of that order also, meaning that I will never receive that necklace, too? Will these two necklaces ever be produced again? Thank you.
Dear Goldie, I actually can’t answer you, because I don’t know.I haven’t heard about any reorders so I would guess they aren’t going to bring them back. Would you consider the triple bar in silver? It looks wonderful and very modern, and can easily go from season to season.
I have been thinking of it. Even though I am not a “silver person,” I do like to change it up from time to time.
Silver is available. So is the chocolate in the 3-Bar, as you know. I must say that reorders and availability confuse me. Thank you for your response.
Dear Goldie…..normally I’m not a silver person either, but it is a very modern piece, almost like a Caulder mobile, and on greys it look wonderful. I’m not trying to sell you but I don’t want you to be disappointed later when it’s totally gone forever, and I have nothing planned like this that can take it’s place.
Oh my. For some reason I thought this was your new jewelry direction. Not to come again. My lands. I agree with your comparison.
Forgot to write in you “All That Glitters” post that I have both the clear and jet Drop Earring (J317115). It is one of the loveliest earrings I’ve ever owned. Cannot endorse it enough. (I am trying to find beauty in this world that has turned increasingly violent. Not trying to be frivolous. Just longing for peace and beauty.)
It was the direction for the season, but I’ve taken a left turn….there is something modern that I have sampled, but nothing like the bar pieces, and who knows if they will buy it???
Louis, Will there be any new items on your Dec 4 and Dec 28 FEW shows?
When can we expect sneak peeks for your new items for the Dec 29 and Jan shows?
Nothing new on the 4th, but one of the things I will be showing is the V-neck WK in the new colors which has never had air time. I’m not sure what will be on the 28th Few and I will be showing sneak peeks as soon as I get the collages together. Jac and I just got back from a mini vacation so I haven’t gotten to them yet..
2016 Linea wishes: simple v-neck whisper knit sweaters, long sleeve & short sleeve in ENR about 27″ long. Deep saturated plum & colbalt colors. Whisper knit vest. And, lastly a Linea suede coat. Though I’d get my wish list in early.
Actually Sharon…..you’re too late….Fall for 2016 is finished…..maybe 2017?…….God willing!
I am male and have a suit I purchased a couple of years ago and on the inside of the suit coat is the name “Louis Dell’Olio” with “Made in Italy” in smaller letters. I haved looked on line undre te name Loues Dell’Olio and only find clothes for women. Can you help me find where I can purchase men’s suits by Louis Dell’Olio. The men’s clothing store in Atlanta where I purchased the suit is nolonger in business.
Dear Jim, I am happy to hear you liked the suit. Unfortunately, the men’s line was made exclusively for the Syms chain of stores. Now that the chain has closed the line is no longer made, and can not be purchased. Sorry to have to disappoint you…….sincerely, Louis Dell’Olio
Hi Louis! Looks like I might have a hot date on New Years Eve if things go well in the next few weeks ..do you have anything dressy coming in December? Otherwise I will wear my new Ponte pants with a dressy camisole top and some Linea jewelry! Those pants are so flattering!!! Thanks for your designs, I am 51 and always get compliments from the younger girls in the office! Happy thanksgiving.
Dear Trish……..hope the date comes through. I actually don’t have anything dressy coming through. The next new items will be at the end of Dec, but they are casual.

Edith Piaf singing “Hymne a L’amour.” So glad the AMA and Celine Dion paid tribute to Paris with this song, but it is Piaf’s and hers alone.
Just finishing up making my summer/winter closet switch and it’s been like my own personal Linea Christmas! When I go through everything I own, I get a true appreciation for how much I LOVE YOUR DESIGNS! Very precious old boucle’s, super soft suede jackets, the original sequin suits in both the gray and the black….if I never buy another stitch of clothing again in my life, I will always look stylish.
Just wanted you to know how thankful I am for you. Tis the season, you know. Hugs to Jac and the girls, too.
crdlb
Carol has stated many of my own sentiments. Louis, you are the best! I’m so grateful that you resurrected my wardrobe, even if it occurred at a late stage in my life.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Jac and your darling girls!
Dear Goldie…..a well dressed woman is a well dressed woman no matter what their age.
Beautifully stated. I am an 84 year old Linea lady and love to still be interested in looking and feeling well put together.
Happy Thanksgiving to you Jac and the girls.
Hi Louis. I am going to try to send you an Ecard but I don’t know if you will get it. If not, I wish you, Jac and of course the girls, a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Thank you Mimi….and we wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving !
Louis and Jac- Add me to the chorus of Linea ladies wishing you and all your
loved ones happy Thanksgiving.
HI! How does the DomeD Stretch Bracelet J270118 go with the Multi SHAPE BEAD TORSADE J290366 – I already have the black necklace, and I looking for a bracelet – are they different finishes?- glossy vs. matte? What do you think ? Thank you so much fro for great clothing!!!
Dear Debbie…they aren’t a set so they don’t match, but I always show them together and like the way they look. Most black cuffs or bangles are very shiny……this isn’t so they do work together.
Thanks! Have a Happy Thansgiving!8
Louis, thank you so much for the A267877 Asymmetrical Tunic. This is one of my all-time favorites. I only ordered the black since I wasn’t sure how the tunic would look on my 3x figure. It is so slenderizing that I went to see what other colors may be still available to order, but the item is completely sold out – all sizes! I hope this one gets reordered. It sold out before anyone got a chance to review it and the only review on the item was a 1-star that one lady left who thought the item wouldn’t look good on a plus-size, curvy figure. So, I HAD to leave a 5-star saying how this was made for curves! I was pleased to find that the system would still take a review even though the item had no sizes still active. If anyone who likes this tunic has a few minutes to spare, add a review. From what you’ve said in the past, Louis, reviews have an impact on the potentiality of a reorder as well as low-returns, right? This one looks like it has low returns. I would love to see the tunic in navy and coffee. And, maybe a 3/4 sleeve version in Linea aqua! Louis, you’re a fashion GENIUS!
Hi Louis! Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my latest purchases. As you may remember, I wanted the blue tunic to go with the zig zag skirt. When I saw they were selling quickly I decided I should order the ivory too. I am so glad I did. These shirts are beautiful!! So nicely made, as always, and gorgeous details and lines. I absolutely love the French cuffs. I have several pairs of pretty cuff links that were my mom’s but only had one shirt I could wear them with (which I don’t have anymore). So now I have two new shirts that I can wear them with. I love when I can wear things that were hers. I miss her especially this time of year as her birthday was always near Thanksgiving. But at least I have wonderful memories of her and our family gatherings when I was younger. She was a stewardess back in the 60s when they had to look perfect, if you know what I mean. My mom had beautiful clothing from Hong Kong, etc. I know she would’ve appreciated your designs and quality.
Anyway, I would’ve gotten red but it’s not a great color on me. Hope it comes back in more colors like plum or hunter green or navy or…
I also got the violet/grape colorblock top. What a surprise! I put it on with jeans to do some errands and felt cute and comfy. The tv didn’t do this top justice. Should’ve gotten the grey/black too. I’m waiting on the assymetrical top. Hope to get that soon as I loved the tank version.
Also, thanks to your “one of my favorite bracelets” post, I got two of the silver and black bead bracelets. I would’ve missed out had you not brought it to my attention.
Now I just have to decide which of your pieces to wear on Thanksgiving. I know I’ll look fab thanks to you. Hope you and Jac have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Dear Melissa, I’m happy to hear you are pleased with your goodies! Have a wonderful Holiday!!
Thank you! 🙂
Melissa….don’t forget to leave your review on the Linea site…..thanks.
I meant to mention that yesterday I finally took the time to write 5 star reviews on items from your last few visits. I had some catching up to do but finally did it.
Thanks Melissa, it really does make a difference. I never realized it until Jayne started calling me Mr. Top Rated.then I realized that TPTB , and he buyers pay attention to these ratings
Did anyone ever ask what happened to “HAPPY LADY?” She used to post up to the time of her trip to Italy. Has she changed her online name?
Idle thoughts on a Friday evening…
Hi Goldie! I’m so glad u posted that question. I have been wondering and missing her posts as well. She is one of the captains of the Linea cheerleading squad!! It would be a shame to lose her, since many of us are grieving and still missing your colorful prose on the forum.
1jac, since I had never read one word inquiring about HAPPY LADY’s whereabouts, I thought that I had missed such a post. (Thank you for “missing” me, but I’m here.) You are right. HAPPY LADY was “one of the captains of the Linea cheerleading squad,” as you so aptly put it, and I think we miss the excited reviews of other Linea Ladies when they fall by the wayside. The other concern I think that many of us have on these boards is that, at our age, something very serious can happen to us or our loved ones. Hope that is not the case. So nice to read your words again, 1jac.
I’m also wondering what happened to NaturalBornWoman. I loved to read and see photos of what Linea she wore every day. She posted frequently, and then suddenly stopped posting. I hope and pray she is okay, and just taking some time off from posting.
I miss NBW, too, Lyn. Time moves on, things change. Still, change isn’t easy. We get used to folks and their particular personality or style; when they leave, we miss them.
I don’t know if you remember, but I asked you questions about the turtleneck swing sweater. I was concerned that it would be tight at the neck. It sold out so quickly, but luckily one popped up in ivory, and I ordered it. I received it yesterday and promptly tried it on. It fits beautifully — just like the other swing sweaters I own — and it’s not the least bit tight nor heavy around the neck. I plan to wear it with black velvet pants for Thanksgiving. Hopefully, I won’t spill on it, ha! However, it is washable.
Lyn….I’m glad to hear you like it, because there is a good chance it will be reordered.
Louis, I live in my black turtleneck. If this is reordered, navy, charcoal or your gorgeous dark olive would be heaven!
I, too, am hoping for more colors in the turtleneck swing sweater. I love it even more than the original if that is even possible!!! The magenta is my favorite, although I also have the black and ivory. Another beautiful rich color in addition to basics would be loved.
My little wish is for a tad longer length 🙂
Great news if a reorder happens! Love these swing turtlenecks.
Finally had a little cool weather here in coastal NC. Wore one of my favorite jackets A230026 and immediately had to order another one. This is a fantastic item. I’d love every color.
Thanks, Beryl
Should have said A20025.
Sorry
I mean A 230025
That jacket is smashing! Bought my first not too long ago, but it begs for another with its high-end look. Finished-looking yet edgy. Great combo!
Thanks, Louis, for your reply, and I do understand what you are saying. It must be frustrating for you to invest time and energy into a design only to have it passed on. …sort of like having one of your children rejected! Sometime you could show us on your blog all the lovely things we’ll never get to purchase, or maybe that would be too hard for all off us! Thanks so much for the time you invest trying to keep us all happy, Dodie
I wasn’t up early enough, and I missed the presentations for your 3 new items. I wanted the color block top in purple, but size small sold out. It’s available in XS, so I may order that size. Does this top run generously? I am small on top and size 6 in the plum MOTO jacket and alabaster quilted jacket are just fine on me. I just wonder if the XS will be big enough for me, as I don’t want anything too fitted. If it has a full cut, I should be okay.
I think it will be fine if your small on top.
Yes, I’m definitely very small on top. I understand this is not a fitted top, right?
Correct.
Dear Louis,
Thanks again for all of your beautiful designs. I am hoping that you will bring back your wonderful printed floral cotton cardigan sweaters this spring. Solid colors would be great also. They are great for California weather and I get so many compliments when I wear them.
Thanks,
Love Linea
I also love your patterned retro cardigans. I wear them all of the time in summer and when I travel to warmer climates in mid winter from Chicago. I already own the black floral cardigan, purple paisley as well as the tie dyed cardigan in neutral. I also own your striped retro’s in black/white and topaz/black. Do you have any plans to bring back the retro cardigans for spring?
On another front thank you for your brilliant collection this past fall. I love every piece I purchased.
I do not have any plans for any printed cardigans, not that I haven’t presented them to the buyers. Maybe they are buying them from other vendors? I will keep trying.
Hi Louis: Have been a long-time Linea lady..even recently wore the suede jacket with in green with the purple appliqué you did so many years ago, remember it? Absolutely in great shape, also the brown with the blue. My hope is that you will return soon to the classic, old neutrals that I love and that you did so many pieces in for awhile…the taupe suede, the camels, grays, maybe some “fawns”, if there is such a color…ivory, more alabaster….my favorites that I still wear most of the time. A92303, the taupe coat with removable liner, A92305, the taupe jacket with satin buttons and matching pants…..A93340, the suede jacket with the open neckline in leather….You get the idea, I’m sure. I realize there is the necessity to stay updated so your designs will appeal to many, but I sure miss the “classics”, for want of a better term. I do have many of your hoodies, and Linea Leisure, but I’m also the one who suggested, a while back, that I hoped you’d do a collection of Olivia Pope “wine clothes”….some cozy, oversized sweaters, some silky, thin strap camisoles…also in teak, fig… colors that made a brief appearance and then seemed to disappear. Any chance? (Don’t ask for much, do I?) But you always seem so receptive and accommodating to your ladies that I just thought I”d ask…We are so very lucky to have you, thanks, Dodie
Dear Dodie….I hear you, and I understand what you are looking for. ….you have yo understand that what you see, even though I have designed it, is the buyers selection……many pieces are not selected, so I can never promise.
Hi Louis – wasn’t a new color coming in your v-neck pullover sweater A259108? It’s one of my favorites for throwing on with jeans and boots on the weekend. And I seem to remember reading something about it coming in rose?
Dear Enjay, yes you are correct they should be posted by the end of the month.
“I really have enough clothes,” she muttered to herself while hitting the submit order button in the dim pre-dawn light.
Dang it LDO.
I was all set to take a pass on the this round but I just had to have the black and raspberry tunics, the new ivory shirt, and (never say never–you would have thought I’d learned my lesson with the skort) the new Asymmetrical Hem tunic in that lovely violet. And, since I have the tuxedo stripe tights and the black moss crepe skirt, I had to have the grey and black, too. Sigh.
Great way to wrap up the fall season. Hopefully you and Jac can stay off I-95 toward PA for the rest of the year!
Not quite the rest of the year…..I have a show on Dec 29th at 1pm with new and I may be on the 28th FEW
Good for us!
December 29th is my birthday—which means I’ll have to treat myself to everything!!!!
A little Capricorn?…..You will get a BIG SHOUT OUT!!!
I’ll be watching!
Louis as of this moment, A267878 light weight quilted jacket is one of mine (and my mother’s) all time favorite Linea pieces. I’d like it in navy if you do it agin, mom wants it in Valentine red. As might have told you in my family I’m a third generation Loiuis Dell’Olio woman. Cute story–I was visiting my mother the other week and wore A267878 with my black jeans, boots and red turtleneck. I walk in her house she kisses me and says where did you get that jacket? She then had to try it on, we wear the same size 4/6, fit her terrific. She lamented that it was just the jacket she needed for a party she going to in a couple of nights and knew she couldn’t get one before the party. I gave it to her and she said she’d get me another one. We looked at them online and she said oh my it also comes in creme (alabaster) she bought herself the alabaster that day. She did buy me a new black one and to my surprise was so kind to also get me the alabaster too. I would never have bought myself the alabaster but I really do like it with all black under it. And I can see myself wearing this lighter color in the middle of summer when black is just too black in places like Hawaii or the Southern states. As always many thanks.
Dear CC that’s a terrific story….thanks for sharing
Louis, I want to reiterate what CC said about the Quilted Jacket A267878. I wore it on the plane, back and forth to Milan, and I wore it everyday in Venice and then when we flew to Nice—it was the perfect weight when there was a little chill in the air, and when it was warmer, I just rolled it up and put in my handbag. At night, I added a jaunty print pashmina. I have the Black, and I’d love to see this back in more colors—I’d like Ivory, as the Alabaster had too much brown/yellow for my complexion. Charcoal would be great, too. It’s the “sleeper” piece that is a must have.
Me too. I wear mine just zipped up like a blouse with nothing layered under it and it’s so light and comfortable, but also warm. Navy would be awesome.
Same for me. I have it in black & alabaster and both are in heavy rotation, because they are so versatile. I agree with Kate–navy would be awesome.
Don’t leave me out…got the alabaster and black and would like
navy, red and gray. My “problem” is that I buy your items in every
color and still want more. Thanks Louis
Yes, yes, yes a beautiful Valentine red in this lightweight quilted jacket would be perfect with jeans and all of our navy and grey! The perfect color to brighten up these cool drab days and evening! Thank you
Louis – It was great to see you and Jac this morning! I purchased all three items and am looking forward to wearing them soon.
May I say that YOUR outfit this morning was smashing as well? Loved the combination of grey and black!
Do you think the grape/violet top would look ok under the dark plum leather moto jacket?
Susan
Dear Susan I will check the combo tomorrow . I looked good because I was wearing my Heather Charcoal Grey WK Linea TN!
That heather grey turtleneck is a knockout! I will have to check the measurements to see if the sleeve length is long enough for my hubby!
Hi Louis! 🙂 I can’t wait to get my long sleeve peplum tops as the summer ones were one of my all time favorites from you and thats saying something. Also wanted to mention I pulled out a very old turtleneck from you, cotton and silk blend I believe, from years ago and wore it and it still looks and feels like new. As much as I adore my WK sweaters it would be fantastic if you could maybe offer us some in a lighter weight for layering. The main reason for my post however is to tell you that my grandson who is in college called me a couple of days ago to tell me he’d been required to read the novel American Psycho for a class. He wanted to tell me that you are mentioned by name in this book, which you probably already know, but I’m not sure what is more impressive, Louis….that you are named in a required reading college assignment or that my grandson immediately knew who you were and couldn’t wait to call and tell me! You are a LEGEND sir and we are training our grandchildren right!
Jules
OOOPS! Should have mentioned your name was not in regard to anything Psycho but one of the very chi chi ladies in the book is wearing a Louis Del Olio! 🙂
Dear Jules…I actually did not know that! From my perspective I actually think it’s more amazing that your grandson knew who I am!
Not only has he sat with me through numerous LDO shows and seen the endless packages arriving over the years but I got him one of your cashmere jackets through ebay a couple of years ago and he loves to wear it with a casually tossed scarf around his neck. The acorn and all that baloney…. LOL
Here you go “Scott Montgomery walks over to our booth wearing a double-breasted navy blue blazer with mock-tortoiseshell buttons, a prewashed wrinkled-cotton striped dress shirt with red accent stitching, a red, white and blue fireworks-print silk tie by Hugo Boss and plum washed-wool trousers with a quadruple-pleated front and slashed pockets by Lazo. He’s holding a glass of champagne and hands it to the girl he’s with – definite model type, thin, okay tits, no ass, high heels – and she’s wearing a wool-crepe skirt and a wool and cashmere velour jacket and draped over her arm is a wool and cashmere velour coat, all by Louis Dell’OliO. High-heeled shoes by Susan Bennis Warren Edwards. Sunglasses by Alain Mikli. Pressed-leather bag from Hermes.”
…I actually think you must be mentioned twice because this isn’t the reference he told me about! “
YOWZA! sorry about the body parts, I didn’t read through before posting!!!!
Wow….thanks for sending me this.
Hello Louis, I wanted to order the A267877 that you had on today but was worried about the length of the top in front. I had purchased your A262453 and had to return it because it was way too short for me in front. I’m a tall lady with a large chest and need more length. I can see the front length on A262453 from the click here measurements but unfortunately the A267877 only shows the back length. Would you happen to know if the new long sleeve top is longer in front then the moss crepe one? I also loved the tank top you based the long sleeve top on and have but it looks like it too is a couple of inches longer then the new top, is that correct? Thanks kindly, Romy
Dear Romy…..the Moss Crepe top is about two inches shorter at CF then the new top. The new top isn’t quite as long as the tank version.
Dear Louis,
I noticed that your leaf necklace is often styled with a long, delicate chain necklace underneath. I love that look. Is the chain necklace a vintage piece or something that will be available in the future? I don’t see it on QVC’s site…
Dear Laura….I honestly don’t know what necklace you are referring to?? If you are talking about the Falling Leaves necklace I have only paired the gunmetal with the single bar in gunmetal…..other than that I don’t know
My mistake! It’s just the chain of the leaf necklace itself! LOL! I re-watched the video of Jackie modeling the new purple colorblock tunic, and upon closer inspection I see it’s all one piece. Sorry about that.
P.S. I would never have thought to wear chocolate jewelry with a purple top… but the combination is very pretty indeed, and not something you see every day. I ordered the leaf set in chocolate (my first brown jewelry) and look forward to trying it out with all different colors.
Dear Laura….I’m excited for you! You will fall in love with chocolate metal….it looks so good on so many unexpected colors….from Black, brown and navy to tals, purples, magentas, forest and olive greens…..just PLAY….you will want more in chocolate!
As always Louis the show this morning was great I had to order the green colorblock top I wish I had that today I am going to a retirement party in the city this evening and it’s suppose to be chilly out so that top with my hunter green WK pants would have been beautiful and perfect to wine, dine and dance in but none the less I am glad it’s on the way. I also ordered the tunic in the red and ivory….gorgeous; I was having problems ordering the peplum top in black not sure why unless it was just selling so fast but I will check to see if I can still get that.
luvitorleaveit….I’m happy to hear you enjoyed the showing……I’m sure you will have lots of opportunities to wear your mew Hunter Green top….and I know you will love the Ivory and red tunic shirts
Dear Louis,
Need your expert opinion. What do you think of brown with grey hair? I have brown/hazel eyes and a little more pepper than salt. I always loved brown and thought it looked good with my complexion. I still own/wear a brown top (from ages ago lol).
If you think it’s a good combo, which of your brown shades would you recommend for this grey haired lady? TIA.
Madame
Dear Madame….Absolutely…..first I love brown with white and brown with grey so you are a double header. The walnut and the coffee bean will surely look good. I don’t remember any other browns that are avail??? If there is one in question let me know.My browns are deep enough that they should work on anyone.
Glad to hear you say it as this will give me more color options than just black, white, and various shades of blue and violet LOL!
I actually WAS thinking of the walnut A259621.
Also, I was thinking that the deeper browns would work better than lighter and/or redder. I truly loved the tobacco swing, but hesitated because it seems more earth toned (and I really never liked earth tones).
I’m also considering your heathered brown Linea Leisure tunic.
Will check out the walnut and let you know. Grey haired Linea Ladies Unite! We need more shades that contrast/go with grey!!
Happy day to you and Jac.
Madame
You should have no problem with the walnut….it’s very dark. I do understand what you mean about reddish browns….they can be tricky….they too have to be deep. The tobacco is not in that league, and it may be just a matter of changing your lip color to a more brown based berry, and a more tawny blush instead of pink, and a deeper brown eye shadow and liner.Anyone of those changes could make a big difference.
Thanks so much, Louis. I appreciate your honesty. I’m going to try the walnut and will look forward to more. It’s a blessing to be able to tap into your expertise!
I like the fabric in the two trench coats I bought this season. It reminds me of the pinstripe jacket and trousers. I wore the black pinstripe jacket and trousers Sunday. Those pants are the best fit for me. I keep hoping for a grey trouser or ivory would be good. I am curious if pants might be offered in that fabric in 2016? Thanks.
No there aren’t pants in that fabric, butI have some wonderful pants coming for spring and next fall
Hi Louis, it was finally cool enough in the City to wear your navy trench coat, great soft fabric. I put on your white blouse, WK red sweater, a pair of jeans and headed up to the Vereran’s Day Parade! The trench is a 5 star review.
Thank you and see you soon, Elaine
Dear Elaine….I am ver happy to hear you are enjoying your clothes, and I couldn’t think of a better place to wear your red, white and blue Linea!
I Louis, I am not Laura but I am interested in having the chain link necklace and bracelet re-plated. I love the set but no longer wear it because the gold finish is wearing off. TIA
Dear Debra…..I will get back to you with all of the info.
I have the same issue with mine.
Yvonne….check out my answer to Debra about how to have your pieces repaired
Dear Debra, Here are the instructions for having your chain pieces replated:
Mail to:
Repairs Department
C/O TCJC LLC
3B Industrial Drive
Smithfield, RI 02917
Enclose a check for $7.50 for the return shipping. Also enclose a brief letter stating you are a QVC Linea customer and you would like to have the pieces replated. Don’t forget to also include your name and return address in the letter. It will take some time, but so far anyone who has had anything repaired has been pleased with the result.
Dear Louis, Thanks so much. Good luck on FEW! I am looking forward to the long sleeved version of the asymmetrical tunic – I have the sleeveless one and wore it quite a bit the last two summers.
Dear Louis,
I love my teak and black striped sweater. Any hope you’ll have some new items in teak. It’s such a beautiful color.
Beryl
Dear Beryl….I am not planning anymore teak in the future, but the A263355 is avail in Teak.
thanks. I’ll check it out.
Dear Louis,
Recently I purchased your curb link bracelet (J159966). Will the matching necklace ever come back in stock? I didn’t even know there was a necklace until I read reviews that mentioned it. I looked for one on eBay, but no one is selling it – not surprisingly!
Dear Laura…..that necklace was from a few years ago, and will not be coming back, but the bracelet is a beauty. If you ever have any problems with the plating please let me know and I will have the factor re-plate it.
That’s very kind of you – thank you! The bracelet is beautiful on its own and will look great with other pieces.
P.S. I received my new trench coat last night (A267875). It is gorgeous, and very comfortable. I especially appreciate it not being tight in the shoulders. It looks so expensive. My husband loved it and was relieved when I told him the price – LOL! I hope QVC reorders more colors. I have bought many other coats from QVC and none of them compare to the quality of this one.
Dear Laura…I’m happy to hear you are liking your coat I really don’t think it can truly be appreciated until you see it up close…..certainly not from the QVC dark photos…..I would appreciate it if you left your reviews both on the Linea site and on the Linea forum…..it does make a difference when they are deciding if something should be reordered or not.
Good to know – I’ll jump into the forum too. I did post a 5-star review last night, but it’s not showing up yet. In all my years as a QVC customer, it was the first time I reviewed anything, and I told them so. 🙂
Thanks Laura….that even makes it more special!
Louis, I’m interested in the new Ivory Wing Collar shirt/tunic. However, I notice you didn’t put anything under it in your website. I would want to wear it as a shirt jacket. Can I wear a color turtleneck under the shirt without the color showing through the ivory? Thanks.
Dear Lyn, Jac may have answered this already, but I did try the navy WK TN under the shirt this morning and it works for me.
Thanks, Louis. I did read Jac’s Facebook page, and she did respond to my question. I’m glad I’ll be able to wear a colored turtleneck underneath the Ivory Wing Collar Shirt.
Good Morning,
I purchased the lovely ivory tunic. I already own the beautiful signature jewelry in gold which I wear often with Linea clothing which has gold hardware. I would also like to order either the red or blue tunic, but I’m primarily a white metals girl. I’ve been searching unsuccessfully on-line for reasonably priced feminine cufflinks in a white metal so I can wear some of my silver Ripka jewelry. Does anyone have any ideas? Louis, maybe you’d consider making your signature cufflinks in silver. I wish one of the tunics had come with silver cufflinks.
Thank you!
Dear Chris…due to quantity constrictions I could only do gold since there are only two to a shirt. ….unlike ordering buttons where there are 5 to 6 to a shirt….have you tried e-bay or even mens stores. Sometimes they have ball cuff links like studs in silver and gold.
Chris…..P.S……I just checked ebay under silver cuff links and they have some really nice ones….and very inexpensive….I saw love knots [steel] and a square cuff link with a sort of honey comb texture….all in the $2 and change range!
Thank you. I’ve continued to Google and have found a few possibilities in addition to your suggestion of eBay. Now…will it be red or blue in addition to the ivory? Probably red since I have the techno cady in blue. I’m looking forward to wearing these tops with your vintage black velvet pants A210828. Love those pants for the holidays!
sounds perfect!
Louis- Just bought your new beautiful red tunic. Plus 3 of the A254439 tanks. Even after reading the reviews I’m
not sure about the sizing. I wear S in whisper knit and M in your placement prints. I ordered a S but I’m wondering if
I should get M instead. Any help from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks
Dear Diane….how something fits is very objective. The only suggestion I would give is….if you are large chested, and that is a strong consideration then maybe the med. If you are not….then the small should be fine…..If anyone owns the rayon/span tank tunic with the asymmetric hem, maybe you could add your opinion to the discussion!
Diane, I purchased A254439 in my usual size, medium, and I’m a 38 B/C. The fit is spot on for me. In whisper knit, I can easily size down to a S. Hope that helps!
THANKS! I really appreciate the answers. THink I need to change to a M.
The tunic shirt with French cuffs A268129 is available on QVC website for ordering! Blue and white coming to Minnesota for the holidays!
Ordered the Ivory & Red. One size in the Ivory is already sold out!
I noticed that too! I also ordered two colors, the ivory and blue.
Sigh, am I the only glutton in the group? I ordered all 3 colours … AFTER I told myself that I really did not need anything!!!
Merrylass…..I honestly don’t think you will be sorry. It’s classic enough and versatile enough that you will wear them for many many years for all different occasions. As I said to Chris….there are lots of cuff links on ebay to change the shirt up……just click cuff links….and they are really inexpensive.
Hi Louis,
Would you please tell me how it works with a vendor having a TSV? I cannot remember that you have had one since the blazer you did with the ruffled piece in the back? It’s been so long ago that the QVC history on my account does not go back that far for me to get the correct description. I cannot believe with the quality and popularity of your pieces that a TSV has not been offered to us, your customers, at least once per year! I think the time has come for another TSV from Linea!!!
The PTB decide who gets a TSV.
Hi Louis,
Is it best to pair a statement necklace with bold earrings? I am debating which color of your “Bold Geometric Shapes Necklace” (J325473) to buy – either silver or gunmetal. Do you think either color would look good with diamond stud earrings? Or would simple studs look unbalanced against the boldness of the necklace?
By the way, I am new to the Linea line and sorry that I am, because every piece is just so beautiful and thoughtful. I recently purchased a few WK and jewelry pieces and am floored at the quality compared to everything else I have bought at QVC. You are truly the best designer they have. Also, I appreciate all of the styling ideas on this blog, especially for jewelry pieces that don’t seem to get any airtime on QVC.
Thank you for this wonderful collection. I look forward to buying many more of your pieces for years to come.
Dear Laura….there are no rules and it depends on what you can carry and your comfort level. I always show the statement necklaces with bold earrings like the bold hoop, but I am aware that some can’t handle it and I offer the Demi hoop, the swirl or the set of 4 studs…..For instance I LOVE the Palm Frond necklace with the bold Palm frond earring. I say go for it. I would have to agree with you, know all of the Fashion Jewelry lines QVC offers mine is the best quality and it gets better all the time…..that’s not me bragging….it’s simply a fact. I am so glad you have found Linea….and know that we are always working hard to keep the quality the best we can. I am always told the product looks like so much more money then it is.
I couldn’t agree more. I have been a QVC customer for several years, but lately, the levels of taste and quality are really declining in certain brands… which is what led me to search for something new, and that’s how I found Linea. I’m so grateful to you for bringing us this beautiful collection at affordable prices. There isn’t anything in the world quite like it.
I ended up ordering the necklace and bold hoop clip earrings, in silvertone to match. It is a stunning combination. Seeing the photos on this site gave me the confidence to order both pieces. Thank you for taking the time to show how the pieces work together. I have no doubt they will be even lovelier in person than they appear on screen.
I almost never watch QVC live… but I’ll be tuning in to “Fashionably Early” on Friday just to see what you have in store for us. Thank you again for bringing us this inspiring collection.
Louis !!
Tell me! Is it true??! Do I actually see FRENCH CUFFS on the new tunic blouse!!!??
Yes….they ere are French cuffs and Signature Cuff Links.
Thankyou thankyou thankyou!!!!
Finally someone with class gives us french cuffs– I am THRILLED!!!!
Hello,
I don’t own the tank version of the new top you posted today and I’m trying to get an idea about the fabric. Will you please compare the fabric to the cowl neck top A268132 from earlier this fall? Is the weight and drape similar? I don’t have any items in your rayon/span jersey to use as a comparison…..at least I don’t think I do!
Thank you!
Dear Chris, this fabric is nothing like that tunic. The rayon/span jersey is heavier, not heavy, but twice the weight of the cowl top. Does anyone want to weigh in on this discussion?
I’ll add a comment– its probably similar to the raglan sleeve Leisure tops in terms of fabric weight. They are the same fabric configuration, correct?
Actually the raglan sleeve Leisure top is a cotton knit and really isn’t anything like the rayon jersey which is very drapey and lighter in weight. They are very different.
I have found that the fabric is drapey but not like the LOGO or the other rayon/span — it’s got more substance and it holds it’s shape better. It hangs beautifully and does not cling. It does not pill (I wash regular on cold but I don’t put in the dryer). The black does not fade like cotton does. It’s almost like a really really nice tshirt material, but not clingy. I think you will love it. I sure do.
Yes Trish, the fabric is very fluid, and at least twice as heavy as the Logo jersey
Louis!
My closet is bursting with LDO clothes, and I love every piece! Your taste in style and fabric continues to seduce me into blowing my budget! With pleasure of course!! Thank you! Keep it going please! That being said, I’ve been using the search term on QVC, “New Linea”, for a very long time. Now QVC no longer searches with that term, but using the same term “New Liz Claiborne” or “New Isaac Mizrahi” works fine! What’s going on? Any ideas? I’m very unhappy!!!
Thanks,
Barbara
Dear Barbara…..thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have made an inquiry.
Louis, I think the search for “New Linea” isn’t working right now because none of the items on your pages currently have the Red heading “New.” The headings I am referring to are those like “Best Seller” or “Customer top rated.” One can still get to the newest items by sorting in the drop down menu “New Arrivals.” Hope that’s clear and helps!
Barbara, I use the same search term and it’s especially useful right before a new show to get orders placed the moment a new item appears. Glad you noticed and reported it to Louis.
I use “Linea new” when searching on my computer and I phone. This search term always works for me in Linea as well as Ripka etc. I have not done it lately though.
I just went back to QVC and Barbara in Orlando is correct. Neither my usual search term Linea new or new Linea did not work. Though that search term worked for Ripka
Hi Louis
Your Tobacco/Black Zebra coat is such a hit in Chicago. Everyone comments in a good way. Today I wore it over the Nutmeg Zip up sweater (A257380) from your Linea collection last fall and tied fashionably around my neck was the Nutmeg Scarf (A257914) with the your Linea slim ankle pants in black. The nutmeg color is certainly somewhat lighter than the tobacco of the coat, but for some reason it blended and looked good together.
Dear Joanne…..they are all in the same family, and the nutmeg is a wonderful brighter accent to the tobacco
Louis, I know you probably figured this out already, but the new A268216 Super Ponte pants are all that and a bag of chips. I have a closet full of LDO pants that I love. Pants were the reason I first fell in love with your line. The super pontes are now king of my pant hill for fit, comfort and style. Thank you so much!

Louis I don’t know if you read the Wall St Journal, but you have been mentioned there twice lately! So here are 2 trips down memory lane for you!
Today’s mention reminded that I forgot the share the Sept mention. I saved the article, so here goes:
Sept 24 Style & Travel section: Teri Agins answers readers’ fashion questions & a guy wrote in about his weight loss & asked if it was realistic to have the waist taken in.
Her response: “In 1991, I could not resist buying a pair of distinctive, high-waisted sailor-style pants in a luscious wool crepe by Louis Dell’Olio for Anne Klein. The last pair on the markdown rack was 80% off, but 2 sizes too big for me. Lord & Taylor called in its top in-house tailor, who promised me she would cut down those pants to fit me perfectly. Indeed, she worked miracles-& the alterations bill was $80. No pants have ever fit me better, & I wore them to death”.
On Fridays the Mansion/House Call section profiles a celebrity’s home & growing up. Today is about Donna Karan & she talks about her parents & her father died when she was 3-1/2. About her mother she says “I think my mother would be proud of me today. In 1977, 2 years before she died, my Anne Klein partner Louis Dell’Olio & I were up for fashion’s Coty Award. After we won, my mother & I went to Studio 54 to celebrate. She was happy.”
And here we are in 2015, so lucky to be able to purchase your beautiful designs! Thanks for all you do!
Dear Julie…….thanks so much for sending me these articles……Teri is a hoot! She’s a fabulous black woman who simply never ages. Teri used to, and I guess still does, cover fashion from the business angle more so then covering the runway…..though she used to come to all the shows. When she says she loved those pants she really means it! We rarely see each other these days, but recently we were at the same book party for Patricia Underwood, a very famous and successful hat designer, and wouldn’t you know it she starts talking to me about those pants!…….and they weren’t even stretch!! I’m happy that those pants are still a source of inspiration for her and her articles.
That’s too funny about the pants! Her column is on Thursdays, they publish a fashion question from someone & she answers it. I love the advice she gives!
Hello Louis
I second the sleeveless wing collar shirt for under blazers. I definitely need that! My spruce leather moto jacket arrived and I LOVE IT!! ITS GORGEOUS!! Honestly everything you make is fantastic. Thank you!
Louis I really enjoy the Linea Wing collar shirt. I would really like a sleeveless version of the wing collar shirt for under jackets etc. would you please consider offering this beauty in a sleeveless version TPTB at the Q?
Dear Kimiko….I agree with you 100%, I did a sketch of that exact shirt for this spring coming up but it wasn’t selected. I will try again.
Louis
I agree with Kimiko! Sleeveless blouses are so great under suit jackets in the warm months. I would love a couple of your wing collar blouses that were sleeveless.
If you all know that why don’t the buyers feel the same way. Probably because I have a cotton sleeveless shirt that is still in inventory, and they don’t want to buy more…..that’s my guess….or they have had them from other vendors without much success….
Dear Louis,
I’m having sneak peak withdrawals symptoms! Fair warning: I could get grumpy, very, very grumpy!! LOL! Can’t wait!
Hope you and Jac are having a great evening.
Madame
Saturday
Clapping! Love sneak peaks. BTW, that Asymetrical button down blouse in that heavy fabric is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! OMG! Louis, my daughter is getting married October 2016 and I may wear this fit n flare black blouse with a Matt jersey floor length pencil skirt with an ivory colored sash or wide beaded belt. Collar popped and accessories , perfect for an evening wedding! It’s going to work! 😀
Your outfit sounds beautiful….I don’t know how easy it will be to find a long skirt, but if you have a good seamstress it would be easy to whip up…..even black velvet would look great…..whichever black looks best
I have the Matt jersey skirt in my closet, must be 15 years old but still looks brand new. Love a good mat jersey, great fabric. Thank you for your reply!
I meant to say 25 or 30 years old.
I was going through the coat closet and found an Anne Klein long hooded coat in your dark navy this weekend. Actually I was putting my Zebra coats away. The hood buttons off. I had forgotten about it. It’s vintage and the fabric is polyester, but doesn’t look it! You were ahead of your time as always! The coat still looks fantastic. I don’t think that it is rain wear.
Dear Louis,
Today I met a friend who was wearing a beautiful hooded rain coat. The fabric and styling was magnificent. I asked her where she got it and she said oh it’s 25 or 20 years old. So we looked inside to see the manufacturer and it was Anne Klein. Louis your designs are truly timeless and that’s why we all love them and you.
Beryl
Hello Louis, I see according to my calendar that you have a show coming up and I was wondering if anything new was coming.
As of now it’s all up in the air
Hi Louis.
Good morning. As always, I hope everyone is doing well. I don’t know if you recall but I received my olive trench with the strings coming out of the seams. I tried to fix it but I couldn’t. I checked everyday and low and behold, 10 days ago I reordered the trench. The fit is even better and I am thrilled. I hope everyone keeps checking on the stock availability and orders what us left. Ladies who read this blog, order, order, order the trench. I also ordered several colors of the wk scarf. One for me, one for my hubbie and some for presents. Thanks Louis. Stay well and send regards to Jac..
Louis I must rave about my new demi earrings in the gunmetal and chocolate (luv….)which will look so nice with my y-bar necklaces in the same colors. I missed out on the PP WK swing sweater which I see has popped back in stock but I had already ordered the pure pink v-neck sweater my first pure pink piece which is a lovely flattering color; I have tons of the Perfectly Pink so the Pure Pink is another beautiful addition to my wardrobe. Now the wow factor is that smokin hot bronze necklace this is ultra fabulous.
On the PP swing sweater is the necklace layered with the pink pearls available I couldn’t find it?
The necklace sold out very quickly, but was never reordered. It also came with clear crystal and Ivory pearls, but that sold out too. Glad you love your Demi hoops. I think they are the perfect size for everything
Thanks Louis:(
I was wondering if the cadet blue color in the posh knit goes with the slate blue color in the linea leisure pants?
I have to find the sample to check.
Dear Romy…….sorry for the delay….I checked the two samples and they are not the same color. The Posh knit cadet blue is greener and the slate blue is grayer.
Louis – Just got back from a visit with my daughter in Boston. Took all Linea (naturally). Big hit. Everything I had on my
daughter wanted. Thanks for making it so easy to pick out what to wear while traveling. Happy weekend.
Sounds great. Is your daughter a Linea Lady too, or an admirer?
Right now just an admirer. But she will be a Linea Lady soon. I’m buying her the color block cardigan(currant)
and several swing tunics. Wishing you, Jac and the girls a happy, happy holiday season.
Dear Louis,
I took your advice and paired the chocolate and gunmetal falling leaf necklaces. They look fabulous together! I am meeting a friend for lunch today and I am wearing them with one of your black turtlenecks and black jeans. Just perfect for a fall day in The Napa Valley!
Thanks,
Dariann
Dear Louis
Love you and your linea line of clothing…I have purchased whisper knit tops love them but there are no pants to wear with the tops.
I want black in 1x will more be coming to QVC before .christmas ?
I asked QVC but they did not answer my question…I would like to buy several more tops if I know there will be pants to wear too.
Thank you for making such lovely items for us regular folks.
RosalindR53K
Dear Rosalind…..the WK pant is almost sold out without any plan to being it back. I have been selling WK sweaters for years….without matching pants. They are sportswear separates and will go with many pants you already own.
Thank you for the answer
Rosalind, I’ve recently seen some pairs on Ebay.
Dear Louis:
Are you thinking of doing the frosted acrylic necklace set ( J321803) in any other color for next year? I love both of mine and would really like more colors.
crdlb
No…..there aren’t any colors being added.
I just ordered the tobacco coat when my size popped up. I went with your advice and did not size down. I ignored the click here measurements. I am 5ft 3in with copper/red hair. I have a lot of your clothes–3 tranch coats and 3 of the moto jackets. I especially love your “missioni” pieces. However, when I put this coat on, I wasn’t sure if it overwhelmed me. I asked my husband who is conservative, and he loved it. I was astonished. I put it on with leggings, black boots and swing sweater. We are going to NYC in a few weeks and this is coming with me, especially because it has a hood if I need it. Thanks, Louis, for all your great styles.
Dear ceicei……I’m sure the coat looks incredible on you, and if your husband loved it on you that’s 80% of what’s important……something I have observed…..if a woman feels overwhelmed in a garment…it will be overwhelming…..If she has attitude, and carries herself well…..nothing is overwhelming. What also works for this coat is the fact it has a half raglan sleeve so there it doesn’t have that broad shoulder look with the sleeve hanging off….it also has the roll up sleeve…..so when the sleeve length is correct it brings everything back into proportion……Have a great time in the Big Apple.
I work in retail and I am always telling customers to ignore the rules–yes, you can wear stripes, yes, you can wear a long sweater if you wear with leggings or a slim pant, roll your cuffs. Your advice was perfect. I will now be quoting you. It’s all about attitude.
Hi Louis,
Just wanted to say Thanks! We were spooky Halloween camping in our vintage camper with the grandson and family this past weekend; the leaf colors in PA were stunning. Sunday we attended an anniversary party for a favorite couple … dressing from the camper means no ironing etc. … so in honor of the flaming red sugar maples in all their glory, I wore the new Merlot nubby tweed skirt, Merlot swing sweater, wool wrap in merlot with touches of black, golds and olives, black Linea tights, black patent croco mary jane shoes, and a couple of long ropes of Tahitian pearls … comfy, cozy, warm and no wrinkles … just PERFECT for travel … THANKS!
Cathy in PA
I have one of your no collar, zip up ponte knit jackets from last year, item # A-251580 in navy xxsmall that I love! It was also made in red and grey. I was on waitlist for quite some time for the red jacket, but I never got one. I particularly love jackets without collars and they are hard to find. When I type in the # it says it is currently sold out. Will you and QVC please bring back this jacket especially in the red and any other colors? I so love this jacket and would buy other colors now that I know which size I need. Thank-you Louis
Dear Donna….even though this jacket received terrific reviews….that doesn’t always tell the whole story. The returns on this jacket were too high for it to be a reorder, so there will not be any more coming back. I always sketch a variety of jackets….with and without collars, but I never know what or why they choose what they do.
Louis, so sorry that this wonderful ponte zip up jacket, and the matching pants, won’t be returning. I have the set in all three colors– even navy, and I’m not normally a navy person. Versatile, as comfy as pjs while looking like a classic dressed up pantsuit. Maybe you can ‘sneak’ a very similar style past the buyers in the future in other colors. Black would be very welcome. And of course I always hope for some shade of green…–Blinddogs
Dear Grace you are correct. The fabric came in with flyers (damages), and could not be used so we had to cancel it. I have tried to bring it back, but so far the buyers have not been receptive.
The posh knit turtleneck A83962 is the lunchtime special today for $45.61 on 4EZ pays.
The Posh knit TN is a little more shaped then the basic TN and is finished with tubular trims which is less sporty so it’s perfect if you want to go a little dressier….plus it’s a super black, and the Ivory is very rich.
Dear Louis,
I remember a year or two ago, you talked about bringing us a tuxedo suit during the holidays, but it was cancelled for some reason. Do I have that right? I also wondered if you think we might see one in the future. I think many women love that iconic look and I know your version would be best of class!
Shout out to Louis’s Ottoman knits. I have three sweaters, two jackets, and three skirts. They get more comfy with each wearing and hold their color and shape with heavy wear. I wore my tangerine sweater to a chilly Oklahoma State homecoming game. It was classy and appropriate. My husband noticed and he never does.
I wore my tangerine sweater in my Facebook photo! I LOVE that sweater!!
I have your Charcoal Grey turtleneck and cardigan. I was thinking of getting the grey and blue color block cardigan. However, I need to know if the charcoal grey turtleneck will work with the color block cardigan.
Note: I already have the alabaster/black and currant/burgundy color block cardigans and matching short-sleeve sweaters, and I dearly love them. I wore the currant/burgundy set to church today with the Linea black boot cut ponte pants.
I’ll have to check tomorrow, but ez pay will still be going.
