    Dear Louis,

What a lovely surprise to return from vacation and find all the wonderful sneak peeks! I’m giddy over all of it, especially the Chanel-inspired jacket. I’m still waiting on most items I ordered from the April 25th show (sometimes I think QVC uses the Pony Express to ship it to Colorado ;))But, so thrilled with what I have received, including the jewelry (Egyptian necklace, wire cuff and barrel bead necklaces). I’m looking forward to your May 9th show with Antonella, my favorite host–she’s such a hoot! The two of you together are a great, fun pair! Definitely must-see TV ๐Ÿ˜‰

“The Age of Elegance” — August 4,2011 “Vanity Fair”

    http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2011/09/consuelo-crespi-201109

[Just in the nick of time! An antidote to the lapse of good taste certain to show up at the Met Ball tonight; an expansion of Louis’s thoughts on the disappearance of genuine taste in fashion; and even something on Teal Traina (see snippet below taken from the article cited above). I love stuff like this.]

“Meanwhile, after a brief first marriage that was annulled, Gloria wed Frank Schiff in New York on December 27, 1954. Her sister Perpetual, who was married to Teal Traina, the Seventh Avenue business partner of the high-end designer Norman Norell, was maid of honor. Frankโ€™s polo-playing, foxhunting father, Colonel William Schiff, of 740 Park Avenue and Mount Kisco, was his best man.”

      Hi Goldie,
Thanks for posting the Vanity Fair article. I thoroughly enjoyed it. In my youth, I can remember following so many of the names mentioned in the article, especially Consueio Crispi and her daughter Pilar. They were always in the papers, along with other socialites and movie stars. It was a heady time.
Also glad to hear from you today. It gives me the opportunity to say Christos Anesti. I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your family.

      1. 1Jac

I meant to type Crespi, not Crispi- sorry.

      2. Goldie76

1jac, Aleethos Anesti! Thank you. Like you, the names in the article were ones I had read about in my youth. Who knew we were headed toward Linea and Louis? But I suppose we were always on a certain track. Even as a very young child I was thrilled by a TV prize show on which Bess Myerson handed out Penobscot Trotters, Pendleton knits, mink coats and, if I’m not mistaken, Teal Traina dresses. There was also a very special watch she sometimes awarded, but I don’t remember the name. Maybe the Teal Traina dresses weren’t given out, but I have a faint recollection of that.

        1. Goldie76

Was the watch a Longines Wittnauer? I know it wasn’t a simple Bulova. Anybody remember this?

          1. Grace

Goldie, love this… Thanks for posting ๐Ÿ™‚

            1. Goldie76

Grace, I am always cheered to know that something I find interesting is of interest to another, especially if it appears to match up with the interests on Louis’s blog. I was fascinated by all that I read. Fascinating lives.

    2. louis dell'olio

The Teal Traina I worked for was Anthony Traina’s nephew. Anthony Traina and Teal’s farther were Traina Norell. When Norell left to open his own company they closed the company and Teal opened Teal Traina Inc. Teal was married to one of the Crespi sisters but was already remarried by the time I worked there in 1970

      1. Goldie76

Interesting, Louis. Thank you. No matter what, you have been in this rarefied atmosphere. There once was a reverence for elegance — in manner and dress. It is a good think to remember. Maybe the pendulum will swing again. It isn’t as though there aren’t still those who hold up the ideals of beauty and dignity, it is that there aren’t that many these days.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Two interesting facts about Norell….he was the first American Designer to have his name on the label and his shows were always in the evening and they were black tie. He was in the 550 7th Ave building, which was the most prestigious building to be in. It was across the street to the Metropolitan Opera House that closed in 1966, and moved to it’s present location.

          1. Goldie76

This is “good” stuff, Louis, and we won’t find this information anywhere else. As I wrote, I love such details about the lives of “The Elegants.”

    3. Ruth

Hi Goldie, Thanks for posting the link to the Vanity Fair article on Consuelo Crespi. I especially liked the description of the sister’s style as “a total commitment to what might be called the Cult of Perfect Taste, a belief system now nearly as anachronistic as Zoroastrianism”. Hard to find these days, but, thankfully always present in the designs of Louis Dell Olio!
      Best regards, Ruth

      1. Goldie76

So glad the article resonated with you, Ruth. Thank heavens for Louis and Linea! All I know is that “discovering” Linea was an unexpected pleasure for me.

  3. Pamela in Anchorage

Hi Louis – Recently paid respects to family & introduced myself to an old friend & mentor of yours, Noman Norell @ Crownland Cemetery. He lies in a stately, marmoreal mausoleum with his mother & father just a stone throw from my dear ones restings. His grandparents were the 1st Jewish German emigrants to settle in my hometown of Noblesville,IN in the 1850’s. His parents left a present-day endowment (scholarship to local High School). Along with Norman’s timeless fashions, his Uncle Salmon was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize – they are revered & considered “most famous”! I was wearing your Fern drawstring dress giving Noman a wink & nod of his own chemise dress designs- perhaps he smiled from above?!

It’s a big, small world isn’t it. Glad to get to know you Louis Dell Olio!

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Pamela….that’s a wonderful story. I had no idea about Mr. Norell’s background other then he came from In. My all too short summer job at his company, before I started Parsons School of Design, left a major impression on me. The way the people of his company conducted themselves, and the refined environment was something I held as a standard to live up to. He was such a gentle sweet man who took the time to guide a fledgling……..something I will always be grateful for.

      1. Pamela in Anchorage

As a very, very young fledgling, were you employed by Norell’s own label after Traina-Norell retired? One of my childhood friends has her grandmother’s few with the Taina-Norell stamp – she was a close friend of the Levinson family – get husband shopped at Norman’s father’s clothing store in Indianapolis back in those days. He was a sucessful haberdasher!

        1. Pamela in Anchorage

          Get= her

          1. Pamela in Anchorage

            Traina

            1. louis dell'olio

Traina-Norell was before Mr. Norell broke away and created his own company “Norell”. After graduating from Parsons I worked for Teal Traina, the nephew of Traina-Norell. To this day the original NORELL perfume is my favorite when it was sold by Mr. Norell. Then Revlon got their hands on it and destroyed it by cheapening the ingredients. The Norell perfume today is nothing like the original though they say it is. I still have the original perfume in the original bottle and box…..It is still perfect. You might think after all of these years it would have become rancid, but it hasn’t. My mother only wore Norell perfume. The clothes were a bit too expensive. There will be two Norell sequin gowns in the new Met Costume exhibit…..they are timeless…like Fortuny.I worked for NORELL, not Traina-Norell.

    Louis,

About those seed bead necklaces- you mentioned they would be coming back (hooray!) . You weren’t sure when. But is this something that might possibly be this season? You mentioned they had the materials on hand. i guess you realize by now how impatient we Linea Ladies can be.What I’m driving at is this something we must patiently wait just a short while or put on the back burner for another season? Heighten our expectations or lower them for now. Inquiring minds want/need to know.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I believe it will be this season…..I’m hoping for June, but I have not been given an official word!

      1. 1Jac

Thank you. Great news! I along with many others will look forward to June.

        1. Grace

          Oh, that IS wonderful news!!!

  5. Debby

Just received the new milano knit cream skirt and have already worn with your navy tunic shirt lots of pearls- love it! What are your thoughts re new black wk cardigan A273879 with the pencil wk skirt

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

They were made to go together. There is a picture at the upper left of the cardigan sneak peek with the black cardi and the ivory skirt and an ivory WK tank….perfect!

      1. Debby

what about with the black regular wk pencil skirt? (not the milano)

          1. Debby

Thanks, already have two!! Can.t wait to order it!

  6. Alice Speelman

    Dear Louis,

Thank you for your reply. Will there be other jackets, knit or woven, in the unique alabaster color to pair with the wide leg pants and tank in the future? I love your “column of color” look!

    Alice Speelman

    1. louis dell'olio

Yes the swing WK cardigan will be coming in July in the Alabaster color……Plus there is a tunic shirt which is now avail in case you didn’t know about it.

  7. Jane J.

Hi Louis, Well, it was touch and go for awhile with my order for the seed bead necklaces. I ordered the lime, turquoise and black. The next day I found out that my credit card had been hacked so I had to change the payment method with QVC. That set back the order processing and the black went to Back Order. A day or so later the order was back to In Process. After much angst, I have finally received all three necklaces and I love them all โ€“ each is unique โ€“ and just my style. I will say that the lime looks like fine peridot. I feel very privileged that I was one of the lucky ones who was able to purchase these treasures before they disappeared. Should you be able to bring them back, may I request that a small hang tag with your โ€œDellโ€™Olioโ€ name be added to your jewelry. They are collectibles and I think they deserve your name on them.

I also wanted to tell you how happy I am with the fit of the new crepe gauze tunics. Many times in order to get a good fit in the bust and hips the armholes are huge and gape. On this tunic the armholes fit like a dream! Thank you.

  8. Alice Speelman

    Dear Louis,
Will the alabaster quilted jacket (A267878) that the model Kate wore with your new crepe wide leg pants on the show be reordered in the near future? It is only currently available up to size 10. The whole outfit of jacket, tank, and pants was so beautiful on Kate. I would love to plan on having all three pieces.

    Thank you,

    Alice

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Alice….the jacket has been reordered, but not the alabaster color. It will be in three new colors.I try not to repeat colors so they become very special, but if the jacket gets reorderd again and there is a great demand for the alabaster, I will bring it back. As of now there is no plan to.

  9. Writer with Flair

    Dear Louis,
The new Perfectly Pink and the Ivory WK skirts arrived last week and I love both of them! They are gorgeous. (Eat your heart out, St. John Knits!)
I have already written a glowing review for this skirt. Thanks so much for designing skirts in those colors.
By the way, if anyone who wears a regular size wants a longer length in these skirts, I suggest purchasing a plus size (since it is 2 inches longer than the regular sizes, I believe) and having it taken in. It does not look like a complicated alteration. Just a thought.
The gauze crepe tunic and pants in the Alabaster color are on their way after the pants were on backorder. I was able to snag the Alabaster quilted jacket a while back after doing some relentless stalking. I received the color block cardigan as a gift in the Alabaster and Black combination. Life is good!

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear WWF….happy to hear you are loving your skirts!

  10. Linda in AZ

Hello Louis. I have collected all of the new Spring colors in lilac, sherbet and spearmint. Sometimes you ask us to vote for colors we would like to have for reorder items. I am casting an early ballot for a boho skirt in sherbet and spearmint. I am so hoping that the Q will continue to let you offer us these terrific skirts. While I am at it, a georgette shirt/tank plus boho skirt in butter yellow would be lovely as well. Yes, I am greedy. What can I say? Hope you and Jac are having a lovely Sunday.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sounds good, but remind me again if it gets reordered and I ask for color suggestions

      1. Linda in AZ

Thank you, Louis. I surely will vote again when the time comes. When the temps go into the 90’s and above, I rely heavily on the boho skirts and the shirt/tank combos. Also, I just got the new yellow lace jacket from the mail. Love the navy checks on the ribbon. It will dress up my navy slacks and skirts all year. The pale blue is on its way too. Thanks again.

  11. Debra

    Dear Louis,
A273862 the Moss Crepe 3/4 sleeve tops look A-MAZING!

Is the “scoop” similar to the neckline on the 3/4 crepe top, or is it a deeper scoop, like the whisper knit tanks? Or perhaps, between the two? I always ask about the modesty feature.

Will these tops be a part of the May 9th show?

They look just perfect for my Linea “uniform” of mix and match and quality clothing, tops and skirts. I have been wearing your items for years and they always look lovely for work or dressier. I have never found another line of clothing that has fit so well, felt so well and soft (I am spoiled for other fabrics beyond WK), and timeless and classic.

    thank you,
    Debra

    1. louis dell'olio

Morning Debra! The scoop isn’t as low as the tanks, but I’m not sure which is the other top you are referring to? I think you will be fine modesty wise. They are supposed to be on the May 9th show, but I never know for sure until I get the script which should be next Weds. or Thursday.

      1. Debra

Thank you for your reply Louis. I was referring to the crepe 3/4 sleeve top that keeps selling out. I guess that is more like a boatneck? Either way, I look forward to it.

        1. louis dell'olio

I think that may be higher

  12. vickybliss

Are there going to be other pieces in light khaki? skirt, pants, shell, etc? The jackets look wonderful, You make our lives so hard with which color or colors we should get. If I had the money I would get all three. Thank you for the lovely fashions.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear vickybliss….yes there is a Moss Crepe top and gaucho coming in May.The color of the jersey is slightly paler then the WK, but they definitely work together. With the WK cardigan I would also recommend, a Chino, ivory, navy, grey brown or black as bottoms

  13. Mimi

Hi Louis. I ordered 8 items from you last show, 6 of which were your new body capri’s (xxs). I ordered 4pairs days before the show and 6 more the day of the show. I only received 2 pairs today. How disappointing. Are more coming or is QVC, as usual, messing orders up again? I am waiting anxiously for the new gaucho pants in both colors. I’m sure you saw that the elephants have left the circus officially. Hoora, that the day finally came. Hope the girls are doing well and send my regards to Jac. Stay well and as always, YOU ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Mimi….we certainly did see the elephants had their final show, and will be off to Florida for a permanent retirement!!…as for the Capri legging that is the one and only order for the season. I’m sure you will get them eventually……at least I hope so…..How do you like them?!

      1. Mimi

I love them. They are even better than the long version ( I have 6 or 7 of them ). I wish I could order even more of the taupe color. I am going to review them now and rave about them. I think some can still be ordered. I’ll keep checking for returns but in the xxs, there are rarely returns. Thank you. Enjoy your evening.

        1. Mimi

Just gave a raving review about the capri’s. Next season, try to convince QVC to order twice as many as this season. I realize that maybe they didn’t order a lot because they are a new item but I’m sure the longer version sold extremely well. QVC rarely learns for their mistakes but in this case, I hope they do.

  14. ZOE101

    Hello Louis,

I love the new Lilac color boho. I ordered the feather jersey tank with side slits in orchid. Will it match the boho skirt?

Also will taupe color in the boho be coming back? Please bring back taupe in the boho, so many of your lace jackets match the taupe boho. I’ve worn mine out:(Wishing for it to come back Please!

    Thank you,
    -Zoe

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear ZOE101….I checked the two colors and the Feather Jersey is slightly more pink, so they are not an exact match but I think they are pretty together. If you want an exact match then the tank from the safari shirt would be a sure bet. The feather jersey is fabulous on it’s own and can be worn with many things. There are no plans to bring the Taupe back, but if enough women ask for it….that’s if the Boho gets reordered again, it is always a possibility.

  15. luvitorleaveit

I forgot about my chocolate cuff!!! I was worried that it wouldn’t fit but it fits perfectly and will look fabulous with my other chocolate pieces. I am so glad I got it before it sold out I hope I can get another color!

  16. luvitorleaveit

Two hands up Louis!! Some of my goodies arrived, the alabaster pants are fabulous and the material drapes so beautifully, still waiting for the alabaster tunic, love the PP skirt, and the pale blue crepe jacket is lovely, the fern dress is perfect and I love it with the moss zebra cardigan and all my items fit wonderfully too. I am also waiting for the spice dress.

  17. TrishM

    Hi Louis!
OMG I love the milano sweaters….thank you for not putting the color band across the bottom, I don’t think that looks good from the rear (a big line right across the hips)……I am going to get the black/white and the pink/black…XO Trish

  18. Dariann Lopez

    Dear Louis,

My crepe gauze tunics arrived today and I am so pleased (I purchased the black and alabaster). They are stunning! I already posted a 5 star review on the Q. I am now waiting for the matching black pants. Louis, are you going to gave any other black or white pants this spring or summer?
    Thanks,
    Dariann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes….I am going to have the Moss Crepe crop wide leg pant otherwise known as a gaucho pant. They hang and drape beautifully. Jac has worn them a few times and loves them.

      1. Dariann Lopez

Thanks, Louis. Are they coming in May?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

          That’s the plan!

  19. Susan

Louis, I have been a fan of your designs for years. I have many pieces of your clothing and jewelry. Unfortunately, the goldtone finish on some of my chains has worn off. I’ve seen the posting of your jewelry manufacturer’s address at least twice, but failed to write it down. Now I can’t locate it. Would you please post it again? Thank you for your help and for your beautiful designs.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Susan….sorry about your problem, but my Manufacturer will re-plate the piece for you. Just send it to the following address with a check in the amount of $7.50 to TCJC LLC for return shipping. Also include a brief letter stating that you are a Linea QVC customer and what the problem is. DON’T FORGET to give them your return address….it has happened where it has been forgotten!
      REPAIRS DEPARTMENT

      Smithfield, R.I. 02917

Please let me know how it turns out!

      1. Susan

Thanks for your quick reply. I will give you an update when I get it back.

  20. Pat

    Hi Louis
Love your clothes. I got the spice dress and it is so comfortable. Would the topaz zebra sweater look good with it?

    Pat

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Pat….I did try them together when I was asked if the olive Zebra sweater worked with the fern dress. The olives worked, but the spice and the Zebra color are off.The dress is more intense of a color and a bit more red than the sweater which is more golden. They almost work but not quite.

  21. Deborah (a.k.a. Diamondscribe)

Louis, I love the gauze jacket. My black one arrived. The others are in processing. The fabric and style is perfection. I did want to give you a heads up though that three of the snaps on mine don’t work (one pocket and the two sleeve tabs). When I look at the post portion of the snap beside the socket portion, there is a size difference which is why it isn’t fitting into the socket. I ordered another black one to see if this was simply one jacket being defective. I will probably keep the defective one as well to wear in fall and winter as a longer sleeve jacket. This fabric works for year round here.

  22. Pamela in Anchorage

    Dear Louis:

Rec’d my Fern & Spice drawstring dresses yesterday in record time – love the cut, color, & fabric. They will travel well. Two great colors to mix with jewels & shoes to yield many fabulous ‘looks’! Thanks Dear Designer – you’re the greatest!

    1. Pamela in Anchorage

P.S. shipment to my sister’s home in Indiana – very fast, indeed! Trouble posting reviews, yet will try. . .

    2. Kate

I paid for fast shipping as I want this for the weekend and mine arrived yesterday. WOW. So easy, comfortable and very, very flattering. I like the shorter length and the capped sleeve. Fern is great but I really love the blue. Maybe next time, black?

  23. Elaine

Hi Louis, what a surprise, the black gauze crepe pant and top arrived today! Great fit and love the fabric. Looking forward to your next show. Will leave a 5 star review on the Q.
    Thank you, Elaine

    1. louis dell'olio

WOW….two days…that was super fast.So happy you like them. This is my new favorite fabric.

      1. Debra

I just left my review. Louis, this absolutely should have been a midi/maxi skirt! It is a beautiful fabric and the teeny bit of stretch in the fabric is a very nice feature. My biggest problem is being between sizes and choosing. Also, in your opinion, since I have to layer, should I go down a size if I am between an L and an M?
I will probably wear a bolero with this top as my other drape cardigans hide too much of this top.

Now…..tell me about the dress please ~ sleeveless? length? colors?

        thanks!

        1. Debra

oops, just saw that you wrote sleeveless. Length? colors?
I would love a 3/4 sleeve in this top with the chiffon bottom.

  24. nikki

    Hello Louis,
I just rec’d the egyptian inspired necklace in the natural. WOW what a beautiful piece and I love love the earrings. Ofcourse, I had to turn around and buy it in the blue. Love all my Linea pieces.
I am still waiting for all my pieces from the show.

    1. louis dell'olio

nikki….I’m so happy you love it enough to get the blue….you will not be sorry. It’s a very special necklace that you won’t see coming and going or anything remotely like it. That’s why I personally don’t love all the stone necklaces….there’s nothing special or exclusive about them anymore. It’s not that some aren’t pretty…they have just become to common place. You will probably be the only woman where you live to have this unique piece.

      1. Goldie76

Louis, I received my blue “Egyptian” necklace and was bedazzled by it. What is especially wonderful about this pieces is that it MAKES A GRAND STATEMENT but sits lightly and comfortably around one’s neck. It is the new mystery of the Sphinx. Who could ask for anything more? Striking beauty and comfort, too. Although in some ways an attention-getting piece, the necklace is just the right size — not bullishly looking for glances. My thought is that there is no body type out there unable to wear this with great cheer and ease. This piece will garner quite a few positive comments, I am sure. (I left my review, which has already been posted.)

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Good news Goldie! I’m so glad you liked it.

          1. Goldie76

I’m weakening for the brown one now. This necklace is THAT beautiful. I don’t know how to express my thought exactly, but do know that this necklace is more beautiful when you see it in person. The photos definitely do not make it “glow” as it actually does.

  25. Joanne

    HI Louis
I love all of your alabaster clothing. It is a very flattering as well as classy looking color for me. In the April “Vogue” on Page 138 bottom half. Comment with 4 photo’s of pants is: “Crisp alabaster trousers – appearing at once voluminous and slender – lead us cheerfully into spring.” Thank you for keeping us all so fashion forward.

  26. Carol in FL

    Hi Louis,

Great show on Monday! I ordered the safari georgette shirt w/tank (A214117) in light tan. Will this match and/or coordinate with the sleeveless v-neck whisper knit tank (A233942) in latte???

I also ordered and have received the milano whisper knit skirt in perfectly pink–superb! I went back and ordered both the ivory and black.

    Thank you!

    Carol

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Carol….sorry for the delay in answering you…I had to search for the Latte top….the shirt is a little more pink than the tank…..however the tank looks great with alabaster [it’s a little deeper but very tonal], and the latte top looks good with the Moss crepe pieces coming up in lt/ Khaki.

  27. diane228

Louis-Great show. I stalked and I ordered all the new wide leg pants and matching tunics
at midnight. My orders now says backorder or waitlist. darn it. I guess I’ll have
    to enjoy through others.

    1. diane228

P.S If anyone could explain the difference between
WL and backorder I would appreciate it. Thanks and everyone
      enjoy their new things.

    2. Kate

Diane, for what it’s worth, I’ve never not had a backorder filled and only twice can I remember a waitlist cancelled outright. Within about 7-10 days after a show, people cancel order or something goes wrong with a payment, and you’ll usually see your order filled. Of course, with the limited amount the QVC orders, there’s always a chance you won’t get your stuff…

      1. diane bloch

Thanks Kate. I was so surprised about the backorder since I ordered immediately
once the things were posted. Well at least I got the seed bead necklaces.

  28. Kate

Okay, my orders have shipped so now I’m obsessing about the May 9th show.

Will the new WK skirt and the matching jacket be in this show?

Guessing you’ll start sneak peeks next week?

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Kate…it was planned to be, and I’m sure it will, but you never know. Items that were planned for May showed up on the April show…..so I won’t know for sure what will be on it until I get my script.

      1. 1Jac

        Louis,
Will the new jacket come in all 3 colors like the new wk milano skirts? Could you provide us hungry for more Linea Ladies a description of the jacket? Some say Chanel-esque.

I am planning to purchase only one of the skirts and I’d like it to match the new jacket. Thanks.

        1. louis dell'olio

          P. Pink with black trim, Black with Ivory trim and Lt Khaki with Ivory trim. The ivory and black skirts work with two sweater cardigan/jackets.

          1. Debra

            Dear Louis,

How long will the new skirts be?
Is there anything below the knee? The new milano knit skirt is too short for me sadly.

            thanks,
            Debra

            1. louis dell'olio

              This is the only skirt

          2. 1Jac

Thank you for the info. I will choose between the ivory and black skirts. Can’t wait. Your clothes are always so classic and chic. We are so lucky to have you.

            1. louis dell'olio

1Jac….If you have to choose one…I would say the ivory…not that the black isn’t a beauty, but it’s very hard to find a good ivory skirt that isn’t see through or lined to death where they are almost too hot to wear….a black skirt will always be avail. to you, but not the ivory….which is like having a great white summer skirt.

            2. 1Jac

Thank you so much for your recommendation regarding the ivory skirt. I was actually leaning towards that one and
its on check hold. I will proceed with the order. Do you think that the ivory skirt can be worn year round (like a winter white)?

            3. Louis Dell'Olio

Absolutely, it’s the perfect winter white skirt, and I will probably be showing it.

          3. Cela

Perfection ! Your jackets, whatever the fabrication, are getting better and better.
The new crepe/gauze jacket and wide leg pants, can’t wait for in black ! GREAT SHOW !!

          4. Cela

Sound simply stunning. I have P. Pink skirt on the way. Is the trim on the jackets a braid or metallic of some kind?

            1. louis dell'olio

              No…it’s all WK

  29. gapeach

I can’t say enough good things about the Crinkle Georgette shirt & tank I got today. I ordered it in sherbet, which is a gorgeous color. I ordered it before they were shown on your show, since I was going out of town, so I was looking forward to seeing it on your show Monday. It was a prettier color than I imagined, but even more luscious in person. I have great pants in a brownish tan and another pair in stone which will be perfect for a cool summer outfit. I now own five of these shirts, and they are are a mainstay in my wardrobe. This is a wonderful color I hope to see repeated in other items. Again, you’ve hit the perfect note. I am looking forward to the show in 2 weeks.

    1. Melissa

I always tend to piggyback onto other people’s posts, but want to agree with what you said about the sherbet safari shirt. I have so many of the safari shirts I lost count. This time I ordered the aqua, the lilac and the sherbet and as much as I love all shades of purple, I think the sherbet is what wowed me the most. Was afraid it’d be too pastel, but it’s not. As you said, luscious describes it perfectly. Would love more items in this color.

  30. queendiva

    Hello Louis,
Thoroughly enjoyed your show with Jane yesterday. I bought the last outfit that she and Jac showed: the dress and crepe jacket, both in Fern. I am delighted to hear that you will be back with more goodies on May 9. Just enough time to receive items before travelling to my son’s college graduation and commissioning in the US Army. Many events planned. My suitcase will be exclusively Linea, both new and “classic”. I know I will be looking fabulous in all the pictures!

  31. Joanne

    Hi Louis
Sensational show yesterday. I purchased many pieces. I am most excited about receiving my new alabaster pants and shell. The alabaster pants looked sensational with the alabaster quilted jacket and short sleeve sweater. I also own the alabaster Cady shirt from last Fall which also will make an additional great outfit. With that in mind I am also looking forward to the alabaster cardigan swing sweater coming this fall as well as the alabaster dress. It goes without saying how much we all appreciate your fashion ideas. Thank you.

  32. Deborah (a.k.a. Diamondscribe)

Louis, wonderful show yesterday. I have the full array of tunics and wide leg pants headed my way. I returned to the single bar necklace thinking I’d pick up another in silver, which is sold out. But, I see on that page that there is going to be rose gold? Is this right? I can usually tell on the new page style when Q is pre-loading colors. If so, hooray! That is my favorite metal color. I already own a lot of pieces to match the necklace. Hopefully rose gold is going to be available down the road?

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Deborah….that is correct…silver, gold and gunmetal have been reordered [very few GM remain], and Rose Gold has been added…do sometime in July or Aug.

      1. Diamondscribe

Louis, wonderful addition! I think the rose gold will be spectacular with your pinks. Will there be more in that metal?

        1. louis dell'olio

          not as of now.

  33. Tylerpoo

Louis, it is a shame, just awful that many of the things that you have designed and we want are not being purchased by the BUYERS. Thank you for trying because you really know what we want, but they don’t, I only wish they would listen! We are so lucky to just have you, and we really appreciate what you do for the Linea Ladies. No other Designers/Vendors on QVC do what you do. Love you forever!

  34. judy

Louis, What happened to the seed bead necklaces? They were up one day and then they were gone.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I still don’t have an answer….The person in charge of the Linea jewelry is in Europe for QVC England and QVC Italy.

  35. Tylerpoo

Louis, also looked like one of the models wearing the white barrel bead necklace had a matching large bracelet to match. Is this coming next month?

      1. Tylerpoo

Shame! It was beautiful and a perfect match .

  36. Debra

    Dear Louis,

Another question…J329589 is nowhere to be found. Q says make another selection….
So, since the necklace is not available, can we hear more about the gauze tunic? pretty please? it looks like a 3/4 sleeve which I love and is it opaque or sheer?

thanks for patiently answering all of my questions,
    Debra

  37. Terri Harse

Good evening Louis! Another wonderful show that just flew by, far too quickly for me! One question…..I rewatched the video on the new crepe gauze tank tops and in the pink tone, I noticed the model was wearing the new pink chunky jewelry set (gorgeous by the way), and the model had on a matching BRACELET! Oh my, is this a possible item for us in the future? Like next month, maybe? That bracelet is just lovely and so completes the set! Can you tell I am begging? LOL!

Many thanks for all you do for us!

    Terri (TexasMom1)

    1. louis dell'olio

      Dear Teri….it’s a sample that wasn’t purchased

  38. Debra

    Dear Louis,

Have you ever thought about making tagless tank styles?
I wear all of your tanks backwards, from rayon/span to Whisper Knit, in order to get a higher neckline rather than scoop.
I always purchase your tanks with the matching whisper knit cardigan. For your marvelous rayon/span, I turn them backwards and mix and match.

    thanks,
    Debra

    1. Karen in WA

I second that. I am short wasted, and many are too low for me. I even wear the strip maxi dress backwards.

      1. Maia

Louis, please do not make tagless tops! They can show through when I wear tanks turned around. It’s easy to remove the sewn-in tags.

        1. louis dell'olio

That is not my decision….QVC has very strict rules about the tags and how they are to be sewn in….that goes for printed labels also.We could not remove tags even if we wanted too…unless they are printed, and not all garments or factories can do printed labels. They are usually done in factories that do more active and casual clothing.

          1. Yvette

I find it extremely easy to remove those sewn in tags too. Hate the printed tags because they can show through light colors, and then it’s impossible to wear it turned around. I’m 5’2″ and most scooped necklines fall too low on my chest – ah, the joys of being petite!

            1. louis dell'olio

Jac hates the labels too because they irritate her neck. I usually ask to do this…she’s afraid of cutting a hole. I take very sharp small scissors and cut close to the seam, and then unravel the rest of the threads untill it’s totally removed.

    2. Yvette

Debra, buy a seam ripper from a sewing supplies store. The sharp pointed end is perfect for removing those pesky tags.

      1. Debra

Thank you all. Yes, I have been cutting out all of my tags for quite awhile but I was curious and feel badly cutting the linea name and size out of all my clothing.
        Quite a spirited response!

        1. louis dell'olio

Don’t feel badly Debra….Jac has no problem cutting her husband’s name out of her clothes…LOL

          1. Debra

            Thanks Louis.
In that case, I am in very good company. Also, because I buy so many of your pieces in multiple colors, I am cutting out A LOT of tags.

            ๐Ÿ™‚

I am excited to get my new crepe gauze tanks – I ordered all 3 colors because I think that when reviews start coming in, they will sell out. I am ready for more colors in your crepe 3/4 sleeve top as well. LOVE that top!! I wear it weekly.

  39. Sharon

Hello Louis, I really enjoyed your show today because it seems like such along time since I saw you. I have to make a request for the linea ladies with upper arm issues. I have your cotton span tops in every color and just ordered the new colors but the cap sleeves are to short and want to grab on. Just a few inches longer makes a big difference for your plus size ladies otherwise it perfect.

  40. Debra

    Louis,
    The crepe gauze looks amazing!!
I wish that there had been a maxi skirt in this fabric so that I could layer and do the column of color look. For those that can get the pants, they look great.
Sadly, the drawstring dress is too short for me. Are there any other skirts/dresses coming with the length and/or sleeves?

    thanks so much,
    Debra

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I,m not sure how tall you are or what length you will need. There aren’t anymore dresses with sleeves coming. There is a sleeveless gauze crepe dress coming, but that will probably be too short for you too.

      1. Debra

Thank you for your reply Louis.

I am 5’6″ and wear a L in your crepe top which gives me a roomy fit. I need that back in more colors! When I lost weight, I had to give away my chili pepper one. Luckily, I was able to replace my black and navy.

If there is an item that is sleeveless, like today’s crepe gauze top, I will wear it with an open drape cardigan. There is no video up yet for today’s gauze top, sadly, but I ordered it in all 3 colors knowing how quickly your crepe disappears.

I would love to hear more about your May show items.

        Debra

  41. Grace

The crepe gauze pant and tunic are up for ordering ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Melissa

Thanks! I ordered the alabaster and black sets. ๐Ÿ™‚

  42. Grace

    Dear Louis,

I also want to add to the chorus of praise for the anorak! I LOVE this jacket so much that I’ve worn it every day since receiving it, and each day, I’ve built an outfit around it! This has got to be the first time a drawstring jacket hit me at my waistline…the fit is PERFECT. I sized up because I wanted a slouchy look and the length hits me at low hip–I’m in heaven. I appreciate all the details of the jacket, the great fit and the comfy fabric. I started with the lt khaki (great color), and now that the size I ordered fits, I went back for the black. I immediately wrote my online review…Thank you for this terrific piece! I’m taking it with me on my trip to Florida:)

    1. Melissa

Don’t mean to hijack your post, but you took the words out of my mouth. I didn’t technically size up, but ordered my larger Linea size. I ordered the khaki and was going to see how it fit before ordering another color, but was afraid to wait so ordered the black too. Hope I don’t regret not getting that green too but need to save my dollars for upcoming Linea. I live in Florida…have a nice trip!

And thanks Louis for a beautifully designed jacket!!

  43. KathleenAlice

    Hi Louis,

Could you tell me if the drawstring dress would be a good choice for a petite, 5’2′? I found the anorak jacket drawstring to be too low for me. That is a beautiful jacket. I wish the buyers would consider petite for more of your things. Looking forward to tomorrow.

    Kathleenalice

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I,m afraid not…the drawstring would probably be very low. It would only work if you don’t mind a blouson effect.

  44. Ruth

Hi Louis, I’d like to order your TIERED SLEEVELESS TUNIC A276293 in several colors but the QVC search engine is saying they are sold out. Is that possible? I shall be so disappointed. In case it is not, would you be able to recommend a size for me – my chest circumference is 37″.
Thank you for all your lovely clothes and styling inspiration.
    Best regards,
    Ruth

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Ruth….it’s not sold out! I don’t know why??? they post that instead of “not yet avail”. Since it is on the show tomorrow I guess they are holding back from posting it. There is no rhyme or reason to why some things get posted days early, like the gauze zip front jacket and some at midnight before the show. I can assure you they will be avail. The tunic and pant will be the first two things in the show…I don’t expect them to last long.

      1. Ruth

Thanks for responding.I’m so glad to hear they’re still available. I hope I can get home by 4:00 or I’ll be ordering by phone.
Have a great day. It’s beautiful here in Massachusetts. I hope Connecticut is as lovely.
        R.

        1. louis dell'olio

Beautiful here in CT. I live on the L.I. sound and the water is just sparkling!

          1. Cela

Louis, is L.I. sound the same as the Hamptons?

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

The Hamptons is at the end of Long Island …just before Montauk Point. Long Island separates at the end creating two forks. The Hamptons is on the south fork and is on the Atlantic Ocean . The north fork is also partly on the Atlantic Ocean , but it is also on the Long Island sound. The south shore of the entire length of Ct is on the LI Sound which is directly across the water from LI

  45. Seka

The Drawstring Dress A276292 is posted on Q and is available to order.

    1. Kate

I swooped in and ordered blue and green. I love, love, love this style of dress and the shirttail hem makes it really designer and different. Paid for fast shipping so it should be here middle of next week, in time to wear it next weekend! Thanks LDO.

P.S. My lime and black seed bead necklaces arrived and you have outdone yourself. Stellar in design and construction. When/if blue appears, I’ll be all over it!

      1. Grace

I also ordered the dress after seeing the 40 plus-inch length. Yay! I love a simple, throw-it-on-and-go dress, especially in summer with sandals…easy dressing. I have a long list of show items I must have, and because I’ll be on a plane when the show airs, I’ll be in stalking mode tonight. Fingers crossed those gauze pants go up for ordering soon. I’m on the “hunt.”

P.S. My jewelry orders–Egyptian necklace, wire cuff and bead necklaces–are in process, and I’m still hoping we’ll see another trickle of inventory for the seed bead necklace…

        1. louis dell'olio

Grace I’m sorry you are going to miss the show…I think if it goes as I have planned it….it should be a fun one, but the next one in May will only be two weeks away!

          1. Grace

Louis, I’m DVR-ing the show anyway…I have all your shows saved, just in case I need to refresh my memory on how you’ve styled something I own! I’ll be looking forward to the next one in 2 weeks!

  46. designista

The blue Egyptian necklace arrived today, and it is a masterpiece! How did you ever find those little round/square gold low luster beads that make it work? The proportions are perfect. The blue makes my eyes look even bluer with my dark hair. I’m in awe of your talent; sometimes you overwhelm. My seed bead is still in process. You’ve made my day.

    1. designista

I was so excited about the necklace that I forgot to open the earrings. They are so light, and exotic looking. I will need to change them to clip.

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

I am so please you like my Egyptian necklace….It really is the small gold beads that makes it look like an artifact….changing the earring to a clip is very easy as long as you can get the part. Which is actually very easy

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Don’t forget to post your review and let the ladies know on the forum.

  47. Solandra

Louis – I just received my black seed bead necklace. A really fantastic piece. I am a silver person, but the gold accents on this sets it apart and makes it pop. I almost didn’t buy because of the gold and the price. Thank you for your wonderful designs. I wore the short palm frond necklace and earrings, in silver, to two weddings last year and ALMOST overshadowed the brides! The seed beads are making their debut at a graduation next month. Can’t wait to show it off!

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Solandra….I’m so happy you like it….It’s one of my new favorites!

  48. TrishM

Hi Louis! I have the zebra stripe cardigan in moss/black, will that go with the Fern Drawstring Dress? I am currently wearing it with the slim pant in olive (i just received; that is a fabulous combination, love!) Thanks!

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear TrishM….I tried them together and they are almost a perfect match….The cardigan is slightly deeper, but they look great together!

  49. luvitorleaveit

Hi Louis, my khaki anorak arrived and it is pure fashion forward perfection as I stated in my review. I know all the ladies that receive this will appreciate the workmanship you put into this. Now to wait patiently for my PP WK skirt, pale blue gauze jacket and the criss cross cuff to arrive. I can’t tell you the delivery drama that I went through to get your frosted necklace set but what a beauty when it finally arrived.

    1. louis dell'olio

      GOOD NEWS!

  50. 1Jac

    Hi Louis,

Does the new alabaster tunic work with the new ivory milano knit wk skirt? Thanks.

    1. louis dell'olio

YES….it’s a beautiful combination…….I would keep the whole look monochromatic….meaning…bone or ivory shoes….cream pearls like my 72 inch necklace that you can wear 4 different ways, and a Pearl earring…maybe a drop….I would even go as far to say a sheer ivory hose could look beautiful.

      1. 1Jac

Sounds divine and so elegant!! Thank you for the complete look.

  51. Sandra

    Good Morning Louis,
I just ordered your tunic in spearmint, nectar and carnation pink plus Capri leggings and so hoping for white ….my office is sooo cold and I Was wondering if you will be presenting any cardigan or complimentary sweaters for spring/summer season.

Thank you and looking forward to Monday’s show!

    Sandra

    1. Goldie76

Sandra, speaking of cold offices, mine is frigid and we have turf wars over the temp. Naturally, the guys are typically the ones who prefer the colder temps. My Whisper Knits now work with me throughout the year in that place; there is hardly ever a non-WK moment for me these days.

And, of course, the rest of the air conditioned world is not much better for me when the warmer seasons roll around. I love warmth, so I love spring and summer most of all, but those who “run hot” ruin it with the AC.

Keep those knits coming, Louis! Please.

      1. Sandra

        Totally agree Goldie!!! Lol

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Sandra…these are some cardigans you may want to take a look at, A263357, A267864, A265550, A259706, A265614 and A263783….they are all very different and serve different purposes, but they are all good cardigans and cardigan jackets.

      1. Sandra

Louis….thank you so much for providing the item numbers to check out…you are so kind….

        Have a blessed day!!!

  52. Frieda

I ordered the lime seed bead necklace and it says that the order shipped. I really do not believe that they all sold out. Now on the website it says they are not available at this time, so maybe they did hold back for the show. I think y’all will be able to get yours if you check on the website after midnight.

  53. Hi, Louis! Will you be bringing back A255122, the cotton/span pull on crop pants? I need white! Everything is sold out in my size except black on wait list. Thanks! Barbara

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Not this year but I’m planning a new version for next year.

      1. Anything similar for this year? Could find only the jean fabric for this year in white. Think I’ll go for the black wait list. Thanks!

  54. Cela

Louis, yesterday on the Today Show, Ivanka Trump wore a Perfectly Pink” trench exactly like the one you designed for us !

    1. louis dell'olio

      sounds pretty

  55. Cela

The Alabaster Crepe-Gauze Dress sounds heavenly. I’m in!

  56. Joanne

I intend to buy all of your new Alabaster items as I own all of your alabaster items from your Fall, 2015 collection. Alabaster is such a classy color. With very few exceptions I generally take a medium in your clothing. Are your flowing pants meant to hit the top of the shoe as full length pants? My dilemma is since I am only 5’3″ I guess I should buy the petite. But I do not want them to be too short. Also is the body of the flowing pants each size the same in both pants just shorter in length for the petite?

I am sorry to bother you with this, but I know I have to purchase prior to your show on Monday. Otherwise I will have to stalk.

    Thanks Louis

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Joanne at 5’3″ you should definitely get the petite. The crepe gauze pant should definitely hit the top of the shoe and could even have a slight break. I like that look but some do not…The look right now is to cover the shoe a la Lisa Robertson, but many do not care for that. The petite pants are graded like any other pant. If you are asking if the petite sizing such as the hip is smaller than a missy….that I can’t answer. I wouldn’t think not. The difference should be in the total length and the rise…..but I am not in charge of fitting anything but the original sample….grading and size measurements are left to the production fitters

      1. Joanne

        Hi Louis
I very much appreciate your assistance as to the sizing of the alabaster gauze pants. We all appreciate your sneak peeks so we can plan our purchases prior to your shows. I speak from first hand experience that purchasing prior to your shows is so much easier than stalking. Thanks again.

  57. NJlady

    Hi Louis,
I wanted to purchase the A255145. It seems a little larger than normal so I wasn’t sure which size to order.
Does Jac wear a small or X-small in this one. ? QVC doesn’t give the waist measurement on this – most important.
Thanks for helping in between small and medium

    1. louis dell'olio

      She wears an xs.

  58. Enjay

Louis, what happened with the seed bead necklaces? Went to buy the black, and it’s gone?! I grabbed the Egyptian necklace in the neutrals – wasn’t taking any chances with that one! I was going to buy the wire cuffs in each color, but I have a 6 inch wrist – are these at all bendable? Can they be bent slightly smaller to stay on?

And while I’m here – someone wrote you recently mentioning the drawstring pants. I own the black and charcoal and adore them. I wear them with little cashmere T’s, and they’re the best “running late” outfit ever. Also perfect plane pants. Please keep trying to get the Q to buy them again!

  59. Shari

I am really burning at QVC !
How us it possible that they retracted my order of my seed bead necklace!?
What happened? Did they decide to put up the sold out sign , to wait for Monday?
That’s usually what shows when something is new, they show it sold out, when it’s not.
I WILL BE STALKING THIS NECKLACE!!
At times , I don’t think the professionalism is present on their part. Now I have missed out on an order I already placed , that was cancelled by QVC, NOT ME!!
ERRRRR!!! Thankyou for letting me vent!

  60. 1Jac

Is there any chance that qvc is holding back the remaining inventory on the seed necklaces for your Monday show? (A girl can dream can’t she?)

    1. louis dell'olio

      I don’t think so.

      1. Shari

I had mine ordered. The ship date was there. I went into my orders this morning to check on a delivery date of something else and my seed bead necklace had cancelled on it!!
Playing dirty if you ask me.

  61. Carol

Oh the necklace shortage is soooooo disappointing. We go for months without anything new to buy and then everything comes at once! I got all the cuffs, one of the Egyptian necklaces and one of the barrel beads. Guess I better rethink that, too. I really expected the more expensive piece to hang around a little longer. GRRRRR.

    crdlb

  62. Sheesh

I totally missed out! I wanted the Turq and the Black—boo hoo!

  63. Grace

I wish I’d gotten the black one, too! That’s on my wish list and it now says “waitlist” when before it said “sold out.” Louis, is it too early to ask about a reorder?

  64. Beryl

Congratulations on selling out the seed bead necklaces. Unfortunately I hessatated and lost out.

  65. Goldie76

Are all your seed bead necklaces really sold out? That is what the system says.

    1. louis dell'olio

don’t know…..i know the quantities were limited due to the price, but that was fast!

      1. Goldie76

Considering the relatively steep price, isn’t this some kind of record? The first wire cuffs were 1/4 this price, so this was really a very brisk sale.

        1. Goldie76

Other than returns, is this it? Any small batches of them dribbling into inventory again?

          1. Beryl

            Goldie,
You and I will be stalking.

    2. louis dell'olio

      not to my knowledge
