Hi Louis
You indicated there will be new items on July 18 besides the new sweater with the lace back. Are you planning on Sneak Peaking the new items? As I will be traveling, I want to make sure your new trench colors will not be offered that day. I intend to buy black and khaki versions.
J267612 is a lunch time special
I was on QVC the other day and I saw the leather moto jacket in blue and brown. Now I’m assuming those are the new colors coming for the fall because it says sold out which means they don’t have it yet. Are those the only 2 new colors for this fall? I can’t wait!
Hi Louis
Are you showing us all new items this week with sneak peaks prior to your two shows. Since I will be traveling, I probably will need to purchase prior to your on air presentations.
Thank you.
Good morning Louis,
Just wanted to let you know –I am wearing the heck
out of my pink ombre tunic, although, I tried it with black
bottoms and really didn’t care for that combo as much.So I’m sticking with white for this season. I went back for the Peacock tunic, which I think will look great with black bottoms, not white.
Probably should pick up some charcol pants, but I like woven.I wonder
if the pink would go with the skirt with the zip/button front for awhile ago!? I’ll check it out. I’m thinking, probably not. The grey is too light.
BTW, my hydrangeas are at the peak of their beauty right now. Had a dinner gathering and put one bloom in a crystal dish center table. That’s the size they are. About 11″ across!
Dear Louis,
Is there any chance we’ll see a Whisper Knit sweater with a scoop or ballet neckline and three-quarter sleeves? Would love to have this style in basic colors, especially black, navy, white or ivory. Possible? Thank you for indulging our wish lists!
Always a chance, but never know if they will chose it
Louis, how long is the lace-back sweater?
The length of the xxs is approx 24 1/2 inches
Merci beaucoup.
Bought the A259621WK contrast inset sweater in walnut mulberry to match the walnut wk pencil skirt that I already own -looking for a necklace to pull it all together and the one in the video is sold out! What do you suggest, is the J273583 long faceted bead necklace in purple a possibility, or what else would you recommend. Love your clothing and jewelry can’t wait for the fall line!
Dear Debby…..You have quite a few choices. J273583 would be a very good choice as would be the J284043 in Bronze. The J271861 and J271859 both in wine would also work for a different look, and J325471, and J325472 the single bar and triple bar necklaces in chocolate would give you a more everyday casual look…….Don’t forget there are matching Walnut tights to work with the skirt and give you a column of color…..a dk. brown shoe, boot or shoe boot would be perfect..
Single bar necklace sounds like a great casual look – Thanks, can”t wait to wear it! Debby- It is so nice that you take the time to answer our questions!!!
Hi, Louis,
Ordered four of your hoodies today. How would the cloud blue hoodie look with the slate blue gaucho pants? Colors OK? Style OK?
Hi Louis! Just wondering about the 100% cotton on the new Leisure hoodie tunic. Can we expect any shrinkage when washed? Thanks, I am wondering whether to size up or stay with normal Linea sizing.
Dear Teri ……..I wish I had an answer for you, but I don’t honesty know. All fabrics are supposed to be tested for shrinkage, but again I honestly don’t know. Personally I find the top roomy. Jac wore an xxs in the show and it fit her perfectly It was a close to the body fit with some ease, but she bought for herself the xs because she personally likes her hoodies easy fitting…….she likes her dressier clothes form fitting, but her casual clothes easy.
Hi Louis what a pleasant surprise seeing you on AM style with your new hoodie at a one time only price made me do a triple take while ordering of course. I swore I didn’t need another hoodie but caved for the cloud blue (Leah looked great in it) and if I can get the taupe to wear with my taupe leisure pants that would be perfect. We tend to vacation off peak months when the weather is cooler so I don’t go anywhere without my Linea hoodies and I wear them as long as I can until the weather really gets cold believe it or not.
Luvitorleaveit ….let me check to see if the taupe hoodie works with the pant before you order it. I don’t know if they go together….sorry for the confusion …..yes they are all called taupe but not all taupe so are the same.
BTW…..it’s so cool here in Ct. …..that even though it’s July….it’s hoodie weather.
Thanks so much for checking the taupes Louis your the best. I ordered and received the black safari jacket because I love the taupe so much this is one beautiful jacket. It is cool here in NYC thank goodness a break from the hot, humid temperatures we’ve been having lately.
Thank you Louis. I ordered it anyway in the taupe color. Yesterday was refreshingly cool here as well. But another heat wave is scheduled to move in by mid week.
Regards,
Chris
Dear luvitorleaveit…..I checked the colors and NO….I don’t like them together. The hoodie is darker and has more of a pink taupe caste. The pant is paler with a yellower caste. If you want a hoodie to match your pant exactly there will be a new one in Aug in the same fabric and color. They were designed to go together and really should have been shown together, but for some mysterious reason to me the y were separated and the hoodie will finally be shown in Aug with a coordinating shell…….So if you want another color in the hoodie maybe you should consider the rose or the sage [which is the color Leah was wearing. The rose would look good with your taupe pant.
Thanks for checking Louis I just realized I ordered the taupe v-neck sweater (A267864) not to pair with anything in particular I fell in love with it after I got the heather grey when it was presented and now the alabaster, so I too was thinking of getting either the rose or the sage color hoodie. Looking forward to what new pieces are coming in August!!!
Yes, but my next shows are July 18th at 2am and 5pm…….see you then.
Fabulous I will record the 2am and watch you at 5pm!
Hi Louis
I purchased your new hoodie in black today. It looks adorable.
Forgive me if you have answered this question previously. I own your original boat neck swing sweater in black, tobacco and perfectly pink. Are you bringing this very popular sweater back and if you are – in what colors.
Louis, please do not respond to my question about the swing sweater. I read further down and saw the new colors. I am looking forward to receiving my hoodie.
Ok….I’m glad you found your answer!
Hi Louis. Caught you on AM style this morning. Cute hoodie!! Ordered the black and sage, as well as the swing cardigan sweater in taupe (had already ordered alabaster and black this season) and the v-neck tank on clearance in navy and white. Love these updates classics. Thanks!
Glad you liked the new hoodie….it did very well….let me know how you like it when you get it…..especially the new fabric.
Good Morning Louis,
I was up at 5:00 am this morning waiting for you to present your new “Jacket” A279520. Apparently there was a change and it was not presented on air. I did order the “Jacket” in four colours. I can’t wait for your show on the 18th. Cheers
Hi Margo, Louis is on AM Style now! – 9:30AM Saturday.
Margo….5:00am??? I was on AM Style somewhere between 9:30 and 9:45…….Maybe you can see a video if it’s up yet?
Finally got the 3 pairs of moss crepe pants back from seamstress earlier in the week (needed shortening). Will there be any prints coming in either short sleeve or cap sleeve to coordinate with the new moss crepe pants for the sage or cinnamon? I wore the cinnamon ones today in the heat wave. So comfortable!
Dear Chris, no they did not buy any prints. I love the sherbet safari shirt with the cinnamon.
LouIs,
Will the wonderful wing collar blouse be back soon? I want all the colors! Thank you for u.
Dear Fran, the shirt will be back this Sept. Two colors are returning, white and pale pink. Black will be the new color.
Wonderful, I’ll be on the lookout. Thank you.
Dear Louis, I’m so glad the wing collar shirt will be available in black in Sept! I have it in all the other colors, and have been hoping for black. It is a great looking shirt in every color and I always receive compliments when I am wearing one of them. I gave it a great review on QVC and recommend it to any Linea Ladies who like a classic shirt with a bit of elegance.
Have you seen this? I actually think the denim trim is a cool idea but it’s a 100% rip-off of a Linea classic. http://www.neimanmarcus.com/Michael-Simon-3-4-Sleeve-Crochet-Cardigan-W-Denim-Trim/prod179250020/p.prod
Wow! You are right. It sure does.
Ours is better!
Ours is better at less than 25% of the price. Carry on Needless Markup
Hi Louis. I thought you might be interested to know, they are naming the street by 57th and 5th ( Louis Vuitton) Bill Cunningham Street. What a wonderful tribute. We didn’t know him but we saw him several times. Have a good day.
Mimi…I was there today and saw it. It bothered me a little because that was not his corner. He was always posted on the south west corner near Bulgari. I also heard it was a temporary sign. It will have to go through a lot of red tape for it to stay if it does.
Hi, Louis, I bought the black and slate blue top and the gaucho pants. By the way
both fit perfectly in my regular size, and I really like them. I wonder if you could give us some suggestions on what other top would look good with these pants. Thanks for your eagle eye, as always! Do you think the matching top will come in other colors next year?
Dear Eileen….the top will not be coming back because sales were only fair…..try white, pale blue and navy with the slate blue…..just experiment with things you have…..maybe pale yellow [butter] or pale pink too.
I cannot believe the 3/4 sleeve new moss crepe top did not sell well. It is so lovely. I purchased both the Lt.tan and black to go with your Linea slim ankle pants in black and Lt. Khaki. Those tops are so luxurious and can be dressed up or down. As I have mentioned previously, lately when I travel, my whole suitcase is all Linea. I hope you will be doing new stuff in the moss crepe fabric. It is the best!
I’m so surprised this didn’t sell well – I adore this top. I got it in black and light tan and left a glowing review.
I left a glowing review also!
Dear Louis,
A heartfelt thank you for all the wonderful clothes you have brought to us over the years. My closet if full, full, full of Linea outfits! I cannot count how many jackets I have that are yours.
I have one small question!? I just received item A253384, the Embroidered Tunic. Words cannot describe the beauty and quality of this piece (purchased the blue and white). It is outstanding. On ALL of the purchases I have made of yours there were always tags on the items. This one did not have any thing on it. Am I correct or not? Just wondering about the Q not you!
Thank you once again – you are amazing. God’s blessings to you and Jac!
Hi Louis. Can you tell me if the new navy moss crepe pants will coordinate with A251574 top midnight blue from a few seasons back.? Also would that jacket in blue work with black slacks too? Thanks.
Wasn’t that a wonderful tribute to Bill Cunningham in today’s style section in the New York Times? He was an extraordinary man, beloved by all who knew him.
Yes, it was a wonderful tribute to him. It’s very sad there has to be one.
Dear 1Jac…..I tried them together and I think they can be worn together, but any dark navy Linea pant and definitely black pants would be perfect, so I wouldn’t suggest getting the pant just to go with this jacket….which BTW I LOVE!
Can you please put your sizing measurements back to where they were before. Nobody can understand them now. They’re for a seamstress or tailor. We want the bust, waist and hip measurements in inches.
I just ordered your ‘currant’ color block sweater and I had to call customer help and have her to help me with the sizing. I order up because I find your sizes to be small compared to Denim & Co.
I love your clothes, but, I need the ‘click here’ measurements to be readable for the average buyer.
Thank you !
Hi Louis
I just have to tell you how much I love the Linea (A273872) Moss Crepe Button Up short sleeve shirt and the matching Linea (A273877) Moss Crepe Pants. What a great outfit. I really love this fabric for summer. But the best part is how slim I look in this outfit. I look like a sylph! What a great outfit for traveling. It can be casual as well as dressed up with jewelry. I purchased the sage and now I intend to purchase the navy-possibly the cinnamon also. I just love your Moss Crepe fabric. I am traveling this summer and as usual my one small suitcase will be full of Linea.
I just have to add that I went into QVC’s website immediately and purchased the Navy in the Moss Crepe Button Up Shirt and Pants. I cannot get over how slim I look in this outfit! Thank you Louis.
Dear Joanne….I’m very happy that you love the Moss crepe top and pant. I tried to create an outfit that would do just what you have found it to be…..slenderizing. I wouldn’t wait too long to get what you want in the top and pant since I think it will be doubtful either piece will be reordered as sales on both pieces were not what was expected. I thought they would be great for now, but even more so for transition….Sept, Oct and Nov. when summer clothes are put away but the weather still calls for these types of clothes…….Please don’t forget to leave your reviews….they are very important!
Louis, will the short-sleeve v-neck moss crepe top (A-262453) be reordered? I’d love to get it in more colors.
Dear Maia, no I’m afraid it will not make the cut. It wasn’t accepted as well as I had hoped.
Louis, I’m sorry to hear that. Thank you for designing the new moss crepe pieces.
I am sorry to hear that also. I own the top and skirt in black. I have worn the outfit a lot with sandals etc. It is great for traveling especially when I need an outfit that can be dressed up and takes up no room in my very small suitcase. It is also slimming no matter what I weigh.
Thank you for reminding me about these pieces. I’ve been so busy that I got behind on my Linea orders! I just picked up the set in blue (sylph…how could I resist). Something tells me these are pieces you have to try on to really get how awesome they are. I think they didn’t sell as hoped because, as usual, QVC chose to ignore petite women of which there seem to be many and, at least for some of us in warmer climates, they were offered too late; we were mostly done buying our spring clothes and these are probably a bit warm for high summer. Anyway, more for me!
Does the slate tunic A251589 work with the heathered boyfriend sweater A259619, or are the grey off? Thanks- always appreciate your sage advice!
Thank you all for the helpful answers. Keep them coming! 😀
Dear Louis,
I have an unusual question. I purchased Two WK scoop tanks the thIrd week of March so I cannot return them. They were each in size L (raspberry and charcoal gray) but I have continued to lose weight and now wear a medium in your clothing. Is there any way I can shrink these tanks?
Many thanks for your patience and help.
Best,
Debra
Dear Debra…..I have never tried to shrink any of the sweaters…..but…..I know that some of the ladies, who were in the same boat as you, have shrunk them successfully….so LADIES….if you have shrunk a WK sweater on purpose, or not, can you share how you did it with Debra?I think a tank style would be the easiest to shrink if it can be done without ruining the sweater.
Thank you so much for your encouragement on my behalf!
Debra–you have so much integrity! Most would (hint, hint) order the correct size and simply return the ones that are too large. Someone will be grateful to have those larger ones when the matching sweaters come back next month!
I didn’t read this
I don’t think that shows any personal integrity or ethics. The policy is to return within 30 days. I would never recommend being dishonest.
Debra,
I would just call Customer Service and tell them what happened. I have seen people on the forums say that QVC has taken things back well after the 30 day time period. I bet they will work with you–especially since you want to make an exchange. I have not had to send things back very often, but when I have, QVC has been the best in exchanging things for me. They want to keep you as a customer.
Debra, I’ve returned things after 30 days, and while they don’t refund the original shipping cost, they have accepted them. Especially when the item is still in stock.
Hi Louis, Nice show this morning. Question about the necklace that Brenda had on with the dark tan V-neck sleeveless tank. It was a long large bead necklace in a teal/green with silvertone beads in between. Is this something new that will be coming this fall? If yes, will there be other colors? Definitely my style. Reminds me of the large bead necklaces from Jacques Carcanagues.
Dear Jane….you clever little thing!!!!!LOL. It is a first sample, and yes it came from a J. Carcanagues necklace. This is a first sample. It’s beautiful, but too heavy! Jacque could get away with selling necklaces that were heavy because his customers could care less…..Iris Apfel was a good customer of his and could care less if she was wearing 4 of these necklaces around her neck, and she’s a peanut, an adorable peanut!…..So I am reworking it similar to the white crackle, black and chocolate bead necklace……eliminating beads and replacing them with chain so it reduces the weight and will make it much less bulky at the back of the neck. These will be shown to the buyers for next spring in the Azure/silver that Brenda wore, Amber/Silver, and Olive/Silver…..that however is no guarantee they will be bought, but they are beauties…..It’s all about the beads, and they are wonderful!
BTW….the Black, white crackle and chocolate bead necklace were also beads from Jacque C…….I’m so sorry he retired.
Louis, This is so interesting! After reading your reply, I looked in my drawer where I store all my Jacque Carcanagues necklaces and, sure enough, I have the necklace that the Azure/silver bead necklace is based on! I also have it in an opaque tannish color as well. I was lucky to purchase a boatload of his necklaces before the shop closed, he retired and then passed away. As large as they are, I never found them too heavy. Yes, it’s all about the beads and they are beauties. I hope QVC will purchase your new necklaces because I know they will be something special.
Good morning Louis: Beautiful, beautiful day in NH 🙂 I may have missed this but is the WK turtleneck swing sweater returning this Fall in new colors? I love that version of the swing sweater. (And also love the cardigan version that just arrived in alabaster) In the winter, nothing beats the WK turtlenecks for me and the swing version from last year was so wonderful!
Nancy, from a previous reply from Louis: “the reorder of the swing TN is due in November, but since this is a reorder style there is always the possibility that it will be posted earlier. There will be SIX NEW COLORS…Scarlet Red, Hunter Green, Purple, Navy, Heather Charcoal Grey, and Espresso Brown…..they are all beautiful.” It’s going to be a good turtleneck season for you! Here in Florida, I don’t have need for more than a couple. The sleeveless mock neck tank Louis did a few summers back are the ones I wear most.
Dear Nancy……the mock neck tank and the v-neck tank in WK will be featured on my 6/28, 5:00 am show…..
Will there be new colors in the v-next tanks? I love those…
Dear Melissa…no the style has been discontinued, so what ever colors are left that’s it. It will be featured on my 6/28, 5:00am show….I think at a reduced price?
Oh my gosh! I will definitely pick up the few colors I don’t have yet. Thanks for the info!
Thank you Louis for the heads up. Will be there front and center 🙂 And thank you SO much Diamondscribe for the complete listing of the colors and info regarding November. Perfect timing and the colors! Lush! All of them 🙂
Hi Louis,
I just purchased the alabaster gaucho pants and top and have to have them shorten and I was wondering what length to do them, I am planning on wearing them to a class reunion and am going to wear a pair of wedge shoes with them. The reunion is at a country club, but it is in the afternoon 12-4. I don’t want to look overdressed or underdressed as I am not sure how everyone will be dressing. I am 5’2″ as least I was. Can you let me know what you think this outfit will due for the occasion.
Thank You,
Diana
Dear Diana, I think it would make a terrific outfit….it’s not too casual or over done. Accessories can make all the difference. How much are you planning on shortening it. It should be about two inches above the ankle. You should decide with the top on and the shoe you are wearing.
Thanks for answering my question, I took it to the tailor today so I think I am having it shortened as you are saying. I hope so, I tried to imitate the girls on the show when you were showing it. What do you suggest for accessorizing the set. I have a lot of costume jewelry and good jewelry, but I would love to look really classy when I get there. So, another question, do you think it would be a good thing to belt the outfit. Just an idea.
THANKS.
Diana
Dear Diana…..accessorizing is a very personal thing, and since I don’t know what you have it’s difficult to suggest. I will say this about belting. Yes, the top can be belted, but at 5’2″ you should use a narrower belt. Also, you want the jewelry to balance with the belt……meaning don’t wear a necklace that is too long and comes near the belt…..keep the necklace on the short side like the Egyptian necklace…. You have time to play and see what looks best.
Louis,
Thanks appreciate your answering my questions. I will look at what I have and see what would look best with the outfit. I do have a narrow belt, but I will see about that too. I want you to know I love all your clothes and I have purchased quite a few of them. I have your jackets, blouses, skirts, etc. You can say I am a fan of your clothes. I look forward to seeing you on Qvc. Best wishes to you and Jac.
Diana
Dear Louis,
Will the new Nutmeg Classic Swing Sweater (A259620) work with the Nutmeg Whisper Knit Mid-Calf Skirt (A257384) and the Nutmeg scarf (A257914)?
Dear WwF…..they are very different nutmeg colors and do not work together AT ALL…..sorry for any confusion, but I’m running out of color names. The “old” nyutmeg is brighter and more golden….the “new” nutmeg is softer and more of a terracotta….if that makes anything clearer?
Dear Louis,
Thanks so much for the clarification on the nutmegs. It really helped.
Since I have been getting “silver threads among the gold” (my hair is graying), I have somehow felt like stepping out and trying colors I had not tried before.
I can’t wait to see the terracotta. I bet it will look smashing with my Hunter Green, Walnut, and Olive things.
I can’t imagine having to come up with names for all those new colors. Better you than me!
Can’t wait to see your program on Tuesday at 4:00 AM CST. It is always a treat to see your shows on QVC.
Thanks for all you do to give us the best possible clothing, jewelry, and accessories (love those scarves and shawls)and shows on QVC. I cannot imagine all the effort that goes on behind the scenes to make everything look so effortless. I hope The Q will display some of your sketches during the show. I always like seeing them.
Thanks Louis also for the clarification of the Nutmeg swing sweater color. I own the zip up sweater as well as your scarf.
Hello Louis, I just received your striped moss and black maxi dress (A265610). I do have the black WK shrug to wear with it, but was wondering: Do you also recommend the moss/black tiger print cardigan with this moss maxi?
Karen,
I know you will love your new maxi dress…..it is a stunning design. I think that I recall seeing the question regarding the moss and black sweater with this dress and believe that Louis tried the two together and said that the greens were not compatible. I believe that he suggested a solid black whisper knit bolero or shrug with the moss stripe maxi. I hope I have recalled correctly. Again, enjoy your fabulous dress. I own it in the other two color ways offered and they never fail to garner compliments. Jean
Thank you, JeanCP. That is exactly what I needed to know. Happily, I do have the WK shrug in black and it does look great with the maxi.
Hi Louis,
In another post you said that the WK v-neck sweater is not returning. Are you referring to A217629? I hope not. That’s my favorite fall/winter sweater! I was looking forward to many new colors. It’s such a great sweater!
Carol
Yes….that’s the one. It hasn’t been discontinued, but it hasn’t been reordered.
I hope that it will be reordered. In the meantime, will there be a short sleeve version of A217629 coming this fall or next spring???
Thanks, Louis!
Carol
A New COAT! Any Hints, please.
P.S. Today I am receiving a delivery from my Linea Lady, Loren – can’t wait to see all my New Linea Items!
No hints yet…it’s way too early!…but it’s fabulous!!!, and will be in WINTER WHITE, SCARLET RED and BLACK….that’s enough hints for now….it’s not due until NOVEMBER!
A Scarlet Red coat — be still, my heart!
I know! And Winter White too! And who doesn’t need another Black Coat – love Black. It is going to be difficult waiting until November. Wish Louis would post his sketch of this Fabulous Coat!
Hi Louis, I’m sure I probably missed this info as we are in the throes of moving to another location – where I will need more of A268137 – the turtleneck swing – if it is going to be returning in more colors. Will it be? And have you already said, if so, what the colors will be?
Dear Louis,
I see that the Alabaster swing cardigan is available, but is this color coming in the Swing sweater A259620 as well?
When will A259620 be available?
Perhaps, I missed it. Did you mention the colors for the swing sweater? If so, could you please share again? If not, please share!
thanks,
Debra
Dear Debra…..alabaster will not be in the classic swing sweater, but in Sept there will be four new colors plus black….Royal Blue, Nutmeg, Blackberry and Dk Chocolate. The boot cut pant, A268216 will soon be avail in the new Taupe and the returning Black and Heather Charcoal Grey……In Oct. it will be back in Dk. Umber and Navy…..In Dec. I will be introducing a new version of the boot cut with a straighter leg in Black and Espresso. There are no new skirts [none were ordered]. The A253411, WK pencil skirt will be coming back in Dec. in Heather Charcoal Grey, Black and Scarlet Red. Scarlet Red will be a key color this fall in an assortment of tops, starting with the classic WK TN, and a new coat…..There will also be a new LL. Pant and new additions to the Linea Body line….
What a great summary! Thank you, Louis!
Thrilled to hear that your glorious Scarlet Red will be a featured color for Fall — thank you!
Blackberry, Dark Chocolate, and Espresso! Love those colors… thank you! Hmmm, with a little whipped cream and mascarpone wouldn’t that make a yummie dessert? Who’s hungry?
Me! Blackberry sounds especially luscious. I hope he does more items in blackberry as I really don’t need any more swing sweaters. Don’t get to wear he ones I have as much as I’d like to.
Wow. Scarlet Red. Wow. And, new tights, too?!!
A new tight, new leggings, and a three pack of trouser socks too!
Great news — been hoping that trouser socks would be added to the line!
Thank you Louis!!
Royal blue and BlackBerry sound like gOrgeous cool colors for my snow white coloring.
I am sorry that no skirts were Ordered though. Not everyone wants only pants, but I know that is the lopsided powers that be.
Many thanks for your wonderful answer.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Debra
Louis, thanks so much for the early winter season tip-offs! I adore the swing sweater and have it in all colors and incarnations (swing turtleneck, swing cardigan, etc) I’m fascinated by the “blackberry” color: is it a bit of a purplish-black, like the fruit???
Also, can you advise if there will be any new WK’s in any shade of GREEN??? You know I have a one track mind on that color! –Blinddogs
Hi Blinddogs….the answer to your questions are…..YES….and….YES.
Louis,
Will you be showing the print culotte and that lovely taupe hoodie on the 28th?
I think so…..they may put the new hoodie on an AM Style, but I never know until the last minute.
Hi Louis,
I see the taupe will be a popular color in the Fall, so I’m wondering if it’s a flattering shade for blondes? And, you mentioned that in addition to the swing cardigan, we can expect the taupe in a WK TN, too. Can you share what other new colors are coming in the WK TN and the WK v-neck sweaters? Thank you!
Dear Grace…..The taupe is a deep color so there is enough contrast for blonds to wear. It looks good on Jac who’s very fair and a light blond. Please read my answer to Debra on colors. I don’t want to give too much away….It’s a long time from now until Dec.!The WK V-neck hasn’t been reordered this season?
Thanks, Louis! My coloring is close to Jac’s, except that my complexion is not as fair and my hair has more golden weaved through the light blonde. But, I think I’ll give the taupe a try–there are too many coordinating pieces I don’t want to pass up! The boot cut pant, TN & v-neck cardigan are at the top of my “taupe” list, so far.
So surprising the v-neck isn’t coming back this season! It’s one of my all-time favorites, and I know I’m not alone. But, I see there are plenty more “must-haves” on the way.
What new skirts or pants (or new colours) will be available later this year?
Hmmm, not sure why my query posted under anonymous but I am eager to get more bottoms to go with all of my new tops!
I have to have some surprises.
Sigh, you continue to be a tease! I look forward to your new pieces – especially in scarlet.
Dear Louis,
Thanks so much for getting the Alabaster and the Taupe Whisper Knit items–especially the cardigans. I can’t wait for the turtlenecks to appear. You made my day!
All the best,
Writer with Flair
Hi Louis,
Count me in as one of your biggest crinkle georgette safari shirt fans…The very first year you brought one in SAGE which I love- please bring back this color! Any plans for that?
Celia
Dear Celia….there is no plan to bring any of the previous colors back. On to the new.
It’s always fun to see new colors:-)
Hi Louis,
Since others are asking what colors some items are coming in, I thought I’d ask if there are more colors coming in the swing cardigan. I ordered the alabaster and black, but am thinking about the raspberry and taupe. I live in Florida so don’t need a lot of sweaters, although I love the weight of this one. I recall reading it was coming in dark umber, mallard and scarlet red.
Dear Melissa….I had to look it up, because I was confused myself about which styles were coming in which styles…The answer is yes…dark umber, scarlet red and mallard will be additional new colors in the swing cardigan.
Thanks Louis! I do love this sweater but need to pick and choose which colors to get. Can’t get them all, especially when I know there will be other items I want that I don’t know about yet. I am pretty sure I will want mallard, I bet it’ll be beautiful. Then either the dark umber or taupe. And the scarlet red or raspberry. Decisions, decisions. I have charcoal grey, marine blue, soon will have alabaster and black. I’m collecting them like I collect the georgette safari shirts!
Could you please describe your dark umber and mallard?
Hi Louis, I’m wondering if you could describe your dark umber and also mallard? Thank you, Ruth
Mallard is a saturated teal/peacock, and Dk Umber is a dark camel/brown….I am sure that doesn’t help at all. Describing color is like the old story of describing what an elephant looks like to a blind man.Your imagination will conjure up a variety of things.
It is true that it’s difficult to communicate color with words, but you’ve been helpful. It sounds like the mallard is teal rather than hunter green. The dark umber sounds darker than your taupe but not as dark as walnut? Thanks for your willingness to help with these color questions.
Dear Ruth the mallard is a bright teal, not hunter green at all and the umber is much lighter than the walnut but more camel in it…..I guess a golden brown???
There is a wonderful exhibit of the drawings of Kenneth Paul Block at the MFA Boston. The drawings are exquisite. They show a history of gorgeous clothes, the designers who created them and the fabulous women who wore them. Jackie Kennedy, Babe Paley and the Duchess of Windsor are some of the ladies shown. I’m so glad that fashion illustration is being recognized as art. Louis, I’d love to see more of your drawings. Could a nice big coffee table book be created?
Dear Ruth….KPB, as he signed many of his sketches was a brilliant illustrator. He did many illustrations for WWD, and was in my Anne Klein showroom many times illustrating the clothes for the publication. He was a very quiet person…..one would think shy, but not sure of that. I really didn’t know him well….only to say hello…………his work was wonderful, more classic.
I love the way he captured the gesture of the ladies and the clothes they wore.
I also would love to see a book of LDO sketches!
Yes, a marvelous suggestion!
Always love the way Louis styles clothing and accessories.
I agree, Goldie! Would love to see a legacy book by Louis:)
Hello Louis, I was looking at my sweaters and I was wondering if you could tell us what colors will be coming in the swing turtleneck sweater. I wore those sweaters out this last fall winter season.
Dear Sharon….the reorder of the swing TH is due in November, but since this is a reorder style there is always the possibility that it will be posted earlier. There will be SIX NEW COLORS…Scarlet Red, Hunter Green, Purple, Navy, Heather Charcoal Grey, and Espresso Brown…..they are all beautiful.
Oh Dear fantastic so I will start saving my money. The only problem is where to put more sweaters . So is the regular swing sweaters coming in new colors too.
Sharon….oh yes….definitely.
Hello Louis, saw an interesting exhibit of the work of Antonio Lopez at El Museo on 5th & 104th St. He captured the fashion world of the 70’s and 80’s. His drawings, illustrations and photos really brings you back to that era. Sad that he was gone so soon. The museum is just up from The Met.
See you soon and hi to Jac.
Elaine
Dear Elaine….I have two books of his sketches. I never met him but I remember them when he first did them. He used to do great ads for a variety of stores, publications, and designer….he was one of the best.
When will you be introducing the Burnt Umber swing cardigan
No, not this season.
Dear Louis, I was so touched by the beautiful memories of your father and mother. Thank you for sharing a lovely part of their story.
Hi Louis! Hope you and Jac are having a great weekend, if you are in CT it’s beautiful weather! I’m switching out summer/winter clothes in my closet and I had to keep your whisper knit light blue turtleneck in the closet because I wear it so often!! It’s a beautiful shade of blue – not too pale, just a beautiful shade. I think it was a new color last winter around Christmas. That is a color I would like to see more of…in any whisper knit (my preference is any version of the swing sweater or the essential v neck) or even in your boho skirt. Thank you. Half my closet is Linea.
Happy Father’s Day from your Girls. They are your children. Do something good for yourself and have a nice day. By the way, I’m in love with the new capri’s. I now have 10 pairs of the capri’s and 7 pairs of the leggings. I just grabbed 2 more of the black. That’s not counting the older capri’s. Everything else in the A is sold out. Can’t wait until you bring in the new colors in the fall. Again, enjoy tomorrow. Please send my best to Jac.. I don’t know the exact quote but, behind every successful man, there is a great woman! Stay well.
I received the Gauze Crepe Tunic in Light Azure a couple of days ago, and I love it. When I first tried it on, I felt like it didn’t do much for me, as I am short with short legs, and things can easily overwhelm me. I was contemplating sending it back, though I really didn’t want to; then I got the inspiration to put a vintage linen blouse with a small ruffle around the collar under it, and it made all the difference. I added a turquoise necklace, which is the same color, along with one of your goldtone logo ones. It is dressy in a casual way, and I can imagine wearing it in many situations. I love the fabric and the color–adds a little class to summer. Thanks for another winner.
Dear Louis,
Congratulations on the success of your Alabaster! You always hit a home run in my book, but with the Alabaster, as with the Perfectly Pink, you hit a grand slam! Sadly, I am one of the few people who cannot wear Alabaster with my skin tone—simply dreadful on me, but I do appreciate the entire look—it is incredibly chic, head to toe Alabaster–simply stunning.
I did order the Alabaster/Black Eyelash top as I can pull that off with the black multi-strand necklace up near my face. Once I’m certain I ordered the right size, I’ll go back for the Blue/Black Eyelash. I’ll be spending a lot of time in Fort Worth on business later this Summer and the Fall, and I plan to wear those tops over the Black Slim Pants (and I’ll try the Alabaster with the Light Khaki Slim Pants)and any number of Linea Black skirts. I plan to wear both the new Black and the White Crepe Gauze Zip Up Jackets, A276280, as my go to jackets in the heat of Texas. What a great jacket!
All the best to you and Jac, Sheila/Sheesh
Good Morning, maybe I missed it, but what is the item number for the coulotte? Thanks,
You didn’t miss it….I forgot to post it which I have now done….but it’s A279518
Thanks, I will start stalking for it to come up. I wear Linea about 90% of the time and I know that I always look put together. Thanks for creating this line of cloths for us. Have a GREAT weekend.
Dear Louis and Jac,
We are in NYC for a few days doing tourist things with relatives in from CA for a visit. After a long, hot and tiring day out, they announced they were hungry for “nice Italian” … Back to the hotel for a quick change, a phone call for a reservation, and a short walk to our first visit to Orso. What a delightful and delicious evening we had … such good food, lovely atmosphere, and the most gracious people, Many many thanks for your advice … our family was thrilled, even the teenager, who ate nearly all of the plate of roasted baby artichokes LOL. I wore a simple but pretty floral linen skirt, Linea navy pebble crepe tunic, sparkly navy sandals, and a necklace of red coral and Croatian filigree beads. Walter wants you to know his linguine with clams was better than Italy, and he recommends the strawberry rhubarb crostata with vanilla gelato 🙂 Thanks!
Cathy in PA
Dear Cathy….good news. I’m so glad you all enjoyed it. There are so many restaurants in NYC, but Orso is one of our favorites, and the fact that’s in right in the heart of the theater district makes it very convenient for us. I love their Rosemary pizza bread!
Another fan here of Orso, their fish dishes are pretty terrific too!
Regards,
Chris
That’s what Jac eats there all the time……She also likes the pasta with clams…..I’m surprised she hasn’t grown gills!
Chris…..The style number for the coulotte is A279518
Thank you! 🙂
I bet Walter would go back just to order Rosemary bread Louis LOL … Frank Langella had dinner at the table next to us 🙂 Thanks again!
There are usually theater people in there after the shows…or just celebs who when to the theater and then out to dinner.
You have to tell them “just rosemary bread” or they will give you a mixed basket…some with rosemary and some with garlic……that’s if you don’t want garlic.
Hi Louis, I own your A267880 Asymmetrical Hem Button Down Top in Alabaster and in Black. They are real favorites for me and I always get compliments when I wear them. I’m wondering if you are going to bring it back in other colors. I’d also like to know if the color alabaster in the A267880 Asymmetrical Hem Button Down Top is the same as the alabaster in the newly posted WK swing cardigan A267864.
Best regards, Ruth
Dear Ruth…..that shirt was not reordered so no, it won’t be coming back. The alabaster of the shirt is slightly different. It’s a little darker.Different fabrics can produce different results. When they all come out matching it’s a miracle!
Thanks so much!
Louis, All the sizes of the swing cardigan A267864 are now loaded into the system and available for purchase in the Alabaster, Taupe, Black and Raspberry
Louis, will there be any more alabaster items and matching taupe items Skirt/Pants coming to match the swing cardigans.
Thanks
YES Tylerpoo…..the boot cut super Ponte pant and the WK TN will both be coming in taupe…plus other items through the fall season. I don’t recall any more Alabaster for fall but definitely for next spring 2017.
Hi,
Will there be matching tanks for the new alabaster and taupe swing cardigans? I loved last year’s matching sets. I’d also love that scoop neck tank in white. It would be so useful. I have the v-neck style, but I prefer the scoop.
Thank you!
I have been waiting for the alabaster and taupe swing cardigans to show up. I look several times a day. Today I went out to lunch, and when I returned the sweaters were posted and most sizes were sold out. Very frustrating. i wonder if there will be more. I also wonder why QVC doesn’t stock more to start with 🙁
Dear Anonymous….it’s not that the sizes that are unavailable are sold out…it’s that they weren’t processed yet and have not been put into inventory…..you will see in a day day or two or three or four….they will all miraculously appear
Thank you. I am so happy. You are the best!
Soooo happy😊😊😊😊😊
Louis, I see that there is a new item listed on QVC this morning….A279516. Short sleeved printed top available in either alabaster and black print, or blue with black print. It looks lovely, even with the Q’s photos. Looking forward to your suggestions and photos. Jean
Wow Jean….that is going to be on my July show…..they are certainly jumping the gun…..I will post pics tomorrow.
Hey Louis
Just received the Sherbet crinkle blouse. OMG!!!What a pretty color!!
Hoping there is a boho skirt in the Sherbet coming in the future ??
I have all the sets in all colors, with exception to the sherbet skirt.
I am looking like a million bucks this spring/summer season thanks to all the beautiful Linea clothing now adorning my closet!!Dressy and casual.
Thanks so much for making this gal feel so great!!
Dear Shari….a heads up. Something you may not have thought putting together is the sherbet shirt with the cinnamon Moss Crepe pant. I think they look great together and it’s a great way to bring the sherbet shirt into fall.
Will this “sherbet” work with the orig. Knit pull-on pencil skirt in “cassis” for Fall forward? I love that skirt with my “persimmon” WK cardi.
I don’t have the cassis skirt anymore, but I don’t see why not. Today they are mixing colors that you would never have put together 10 years ago. There”‘s only one way to know…..try it out it could be fun
Ok – bet I own the ‘perfect’ scarf to pull this color combo together? ! Love that fabric; love that shirt!!
Actually, I wore it yesterday with moss green cargo bermuda shorts and cork wedges with your gold palm jewelry to a family reunion. Many compliments.
How does the alabaster swing sweater go with the cream wk skirt – have the sweater in blue and love it!
Dear Debby I think they look great together. I love the tonal look. It is sort of the same combination as the lt. khaki and ivory of the zip front sweater, A273879. I would suggest wearing either ivory or alabaster under the cardigan with the ivory skirt.
Hi Louis,
Any word yet if A267883 in the alabaster/black combination is being reordered? This is the WK color block cardigan.
Thanks.
Regards,
Chris
Dear Chris…..since that is the only color combination that sold out that style will not be reordered
I am disappointed in reading this! Oh well!
Louis,
I am hoping for a reorder of the gaucho pants, especially in the black. I ordered the black and blue in XL, but they were HUGE! I wear an XL or 18 in all of your other pants. I was able to reorder the blue in size large and they fit very nicely. I never wear size large in pants. Sadly, they are sold out in black, but I’ll keep stalking.
I’m loving all of the crepe items I’ve ordered this spring. If you bring in more moss crepe items next year (which I hope), I would love a long sleeved version of the button down top and also black pants.
Thank you!
Hi Louis!
Just received my gauze tunics in yellow and white!
I cannot find enough ways to say how much I LOVE them!! The fabric
is so rich, yet comfortably chic. I can see wearing these with skirts, yet with my “ripped” jeans and a slung belt. I am thrilled with the style, fabric and fit of these tunics.
I would love to see more colors next spring, like lime, orchid, orange,
bright aqua and a grapefruit pink( not the perfectly pink, but a sassy pink)
Wearing the yellow one with white jeans tomorrow, out to breakfast with the girl friends.
So glad you like it. Don’t forget to leave your reviews both on the Linea site and the Linea forum…..thanks
Already done right after I left you my message
Louis,
I just received one of my regular emails from Eileen Fisher, from whom I also purchase clothes. Just got her notice of summer sweaters and glancing through her selection, there is one tencel link sweater that is very reminiscent of your new v neck tops that I just received. I forget for the moment what I paid for those sweaters individually $34? Her sweater costs $218. I have no doubt there are differences…but when buying online one only is able to see design, fluidity and fit! Thank God for this web site where we get a real sense of your design quality. Your sweaters have a v neck which I prefer and hers has a broader open neckline. My point is she has beautiful things at a high cost, but so do you with similar quality for a very low price. LADIES WE ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE LOUIS And his brilliant designs !!!!
Dear Victoria1….being in this business since 1970 I know what goes into the pricing of “designer” garments. You would, or maybe you wouldn’t, be surprised what % of the cost is actually the garment. Employees salaries, advertisements, retail stores, return percentages, loses [like stealing] etc etc. all go into the price of a garment. So it is no wonder a garment of similar quality to mine is 3, 4 and even more times what a Linea garment costs. My agent who gets it all done after the sketches are given and chosen….keeps the overhead very low so the cost is kept as low as possible. There are many times when the garments should actually be more money than they are, but we all work tom keep the prices as low as possible.
I know…had a boutique in Bev Hills in early 70s…so know wholesale/ retail/ and all the overhead and I am thrilled to get your things…you do a tremendous job giving us quality…my size in Alabaster and taupe sweaters are gone😪… Ran to city this morning and just checked…sad…thank you
Victoria1….they aren’t gone….just not processed yet….keep looking.
Louis!
Your fashion has given your ladies such joy and pleasure. I have been one of your ladies for the the past eight years! Thank you for all that you do!❤️ Today in my city of Orlando we lost 50 lives with many more injured from this horrendous shooting that changed lives forever! Pray for Orlando, Louis, and let us hope that this might be the last!!💔
Dear Barbara….Jac and I have been watching everything on TV since it was first reported, and we are praying for the souls of those who were senselessly murdered and their families who are left behind with their broken hearts. I watched President Obama’s speech. He almost sounded resigned to the fact that nothing will change as long as things stay as they are. It seems the NRA and their money is stronger then the will of the people. I see nothing changing in the future and I’m afraid this will go on and on and on. My fear is where next. There are too many deranged unenlightened people out there with their twisted ideologies to ever guarantee a world where this will never happen again. It’s the world we now live in…..so different from the world of my youth, and I am afraid we will never get back there.

I totally agree with you, Louis. There seems always to be outrage that stricter gun laws would inflict some incomprehensible harm to our American way of life, but there is no similar outrage to the innocent lives lost. NO ONE needs an assault rifle. To argue differently is not to be on the side of the angels. There are too many holes to plug if the guns are allowed as freely as they are. Better to limit the guns. The United States is the only country where this sort of assault on other human beings happens repeatedly. Yes, it happens elsewhere — but rarely. We need to see the light.
“It seems the NRA and their money is stronger then the will of the people. I see nothing changing in the future and I’m afraid this will go on and on and on. My fear is where next. I also agree wholeheartedly with this opinion. I live near the Columbine High School community where 17 years ago 39 students were massacred by fellow classmates with assault weapons they secured through gun law loopholes. Although my children were in private schools at the time, my son was on the same baseball team as one of the victims and in a Confirmation class with another. Horror on our doorsteps and devastating for us all, as these shootings have been repeated in communities across the country. In the wake of these tragedies, we expected gun law changes, despite the very powerful NRA, only to be disappointed again and again. These shootings have become routine and, as a nation, we are becoming numb to these mass shootings. And, sadly and poignantly, if the slaughter of kindergartners and first graders in Newtown cannot move this nation and Congress to take action, I don’t know what will… I hope with new, committed leadership, we can make real progress with gun law reform. It’s a start. But, it really comes down to us…We, the People, need to stand up for change and prevent the repeated “assault on human beings” in this country, as Goldie so aptly put it.
Well, I guess that puts me “not on the side of the angels”! Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. And if it’s not guns, it will be knives or explosives. The best defense is a strong offense. I have a permit to carry, and I have all intention of protecting myself and my loved ones if the need arises. I won’t be cowering in the corner waiting for someone to defend me.
I don’t think anyone needs an assault weapon to protect themselves in a home invasion.
I don’t think people should not be allowed to carry a gun, rifle, shot gun etc. but there is no reason for assault rifles. Unfortunately the mighty dollar speaks louder than anything. It drowns the voices of reason.
designista, I just hope for fewer guns out there. That can be achieved only with tighter controls. My desire is not for you to be without one. My mother and her four sisters and five brothers were born in an area of Pennsylvania that was settled primarily by those of German descent. Consequently, her four sisters all married men of German descent, and those wonderful gentlemen believed in the beauty and bonding of hunting and considered learning to hunt a rite of passage for their sons. My Greek/German male cousins, fine citizens and exemplary people in all respects, engaged in this sport. I understand, to a degree (I think), the gun culture. My relatives are all responsible and God-fearing. They do the right thing when it comes to their firearms. What isn’t acceptable is selling assault rifles (and accoutrements) as well as turning a blind eye to the wholesale deaths of innocents. Like Grace, I thought the tragic deaths of the kindergarteners at Sandy Hook would change the stubborn minds and venal souls of Congress. To me, it was unbelievable when that body of power hardened itself to the loss of those tender children and was not moved to act on higher principles and motives. When those precious kindergarteners did not change things, I knew we were lost. Everything and everyone is now a possible target. Any gathering is an invitation for open-season to a sick mind. Any assembly for sport, worship, music or shopping is an open invitation for slaughter. Something has got to give.
And for good measure, can’t our government agencies communicate better with one another? How can anyone who has been of interest to the FBI buy a gun? Where has the system failed us once again? Leading up to 9/11, a flight school (in Arizona, I believe) was suspicious of some foreigners who wanted to learn to fly but NOT TO LAND. They passed on their suspicions. Well, you know the end of the story. Since that time, better communication was promised. It is still not there.
Louis, in my previous life as a Washington journalist, I interviewed NRA lobbyists and members of Congress on the rationale for NRA opposition to a ban on armor-piercing bullets– so-called “cop killer bullets.” The NRA and their campaign donation-bought lawmakers said, with a straight face, that these bullets were needed because some large animals could not be hunted with regular bullets. Well, the cops produced evidence that it would have to be a rhinoceros to require shooting with the ‘cop killer bullets. I don’t know of any rhinos roaming freely in US hunting grounds…
Dear blinddogs…..as I always tell Jac, “look for the money angle”……it’s ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY, and unfortunately it’s never going to change. This may sound pessimistic but I think it’s the reality of today.
Sadly, it is indeed. Follow the money, always. Would you believe that gun sales have SOARED since the Orlando massacre, as they have after every mass shooting? I don’t like guns one bit and have never had one in the house. You may remember that I grew up in Dallas. Many mothers of my friends had little pearl handled revolvers in their handbags which they carried everywhere. Fathers kept loaded guns in the drawers of their nightstands. Dallas was very much a gun culture then as is is now, only worse now. My 12 year old next door neighbor tragically died when a classmate playing with a gun in the house shot and killed him. It seems to happen more and more today with young children being killed this way. Several men in my family are hunters but are real sportsmen in the time-honored tradition. Their guns are stored in a locked gun cabinet with the ammunition stored separately. I can have more respect for that, although I wouldn’t want to do it myself. And NO civilian needs an assault weapon to either hunt or to “protect” themselves or their families. There is a far greater probability of their harming either themselves or their families than there is of successfully interrupting a criminal. I have seen deer mutilated by an assault weapon, no doubt discharged by a drunken hunter in a deer stand. Hardly edible. Mothers are now being advised to ascertain whether there are guns in the homes where their children are visiting to play. No, I don’t like the insane proliferation of guns in my country one bit. Rant over!!!!
Hello Louis, I need to share my sad experience with your chocolate 2-row graduated bead necklace J296893. Twice I ordered this necklace and twice QVC has sent me a broken necklace with beads unstrung in the bag. The first time I called QVC to let them know. Several weeks later, I re-ordered the necklace because I really wanted those chocolate beads in my wardrobe. When the necklace arrived today – same problem – I actually think they may have sent me the same broken necklace again! I’ve called QVC to complain again, but not sure it will have any more effect than it did last time. I also put a review on QVC the first time it happened, so they know the problem. Perhaps you could speak to someone at QVC. Love your designs and am disappointed that chocolate beads won’t be around my neck!
Dear Karen…….I’m afraid my complaining will not change the problem that exists. Why something is shipped out that is broken is beyond my understanding. All I can suggest is….if you really want the beads in chocolate , or any color, you can send them to be re-strung by my manufacturer in RI. They only require a check for $7.50 for return shipping, but it will be done in RI, not in the factory where they were made, and then sent back to you. They have repaired, and re-plated items for other Linea QVC customers, and so far I think everyone has been pleased……it’s up to you.
Hi Louis, thank you for the suggestion. I just called QVC and ordered the chocolate beads again and was promised that the warehouse would carefully check this time to be sure the necklace is perfect. If they are not perfect, I will go ahead and send them to your manufacturer in R.I.to be re-strung. I look forward to wearing them with my raspberry sweater set as you suggested!
