“Sneak Peek #8″,
This is the last sneak peak for the Fall 2011 season! There are three items which will be presented on Monday, Dec. 12th on the PM Style show.
1- A219796, is the faux satin back crepe de chine blouse. This is a new fabric I am introducing. It has the look and hand of a silk crepe de chine but it has a satin back, so the side that is against the skin is satin….like a satin charmeuse. Imagine how wonderful that is going to feel on…..like expensive lingerie. It has a classic shirt collar and stand, a one button cuff, body darts so it isn’t boxy [just skims the body], a curved bottom and the all important fly front. I chose to do this shirt with a fly front to keep the shirt perfectly clean so your jewelry really shows up. This is the perfect shirt for tucking in or wearing out, belted or not. The colors are Ivory, Perfectly Pink, and Black, which is a deep Black! An essential blouse in three essential colors. This is a piece that has no season and a blouse you will wear the entire year. Of course, it is washable for easy care.
2-A219797, is the vest front cardigan. This is a TOTALLY full fashioned piece. What does that mean? There are many sweaters that are fully fashioned but are finished off at the neckline, sleeve and bottom hems with linked on tubular bands. The shape and finishing of this sweater is entirely knitted on the machine so there are no tubular trims. This cardigan is made just like the V-neck tunic A217985. You can see in the pink photo how the bottom has the drop stitches to create the perfect V. The V neckline is done the same way. This is how many expensive Italian sweaters are made. Is one way better than the other?…..no, it’s simply a matter of which will work better for the design of the garment. I have said it before and it is worth repeating……”if this sweater cost $600, it couldn’t be make any better”. It is in my acrylic/wool yarn, the same yarn and knit as the pencil skirt to come. The colors are Black, Perfectly Pink and Fawn. YES, the fawn and p. pink work with the fawn and p. pink pieces you already own…..i.e.. the fawn pant and riding jacket. The black blouse with the fawn cardigan, belted or not, worn under the fawn riding jacket and the black riding skirt or black pant is pure class. Notice in one picture I have the fawn cardigan with black pants and in the other I have it with fawn pants. Also notice the belted black cardigan photo. I left the ivory shirt out, not tucked in, so the bottom V of the cardigan is highlighted. This is the perfect cardigan for wearing right now and into spring and early summer. For me, it’s another essential, lifetime piece. I can’t emphasize enough the superb quality of this cardigan.
3-A219798, is the 26 inch pencil skirt. This has been a long time customer request!…..and it’s finally here. It is the same acrylic/ wool as the original skirt and in the same every needle rib construction……the only difference is the length. It is something that my tall gals have been pleading for and I think it is the answer for my petite gals who are looking for the perfect boot length longer skirt…..one they won’t have to shorten. I really think it’s a perfect length for all. The colors are the Black, Perfectly Pink and Fawn. If this skirt is as successful as the original skirt….hopefully, I will be able to bring it back in more colors. The care of this skirt is the same as the original skirt. Add this to the “essential list”.
My inspiration for the total “Look”…… the blouse, cardigan and skirt, came from “Hitchcock Heroines”. I can picture Tippi Hendron in “The Birds”, or Eva Maria Saint in “North by Northwest”, Kim Novak in “Vertigo”. or Grace Kelly in “Rear Window”, wearing these three pieces and looking their famous “Cool Chic”. It’s a timeless look that never looks out of style or dated. It always looks effortless. When I see a woman dressed like this, my first impression is….this is a woman who knows how to look understated and elegant….it is surprisingly sexy……….a few very good pieces of jewelry, beautiful shoes and bag…… and a lot of attitude is all you need.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..Enjoy…………………… Much Love to you, Louis
