Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well after hurricane Irene. I know there still are many people who are suffering and still don’t have power. I keep seeing pictures of the devastation that occurred here in CT and many other states, especially New Jersey and Vermont. Jac and my thoughts and prayers go out to all of these families.
I was going to wait until later in the week to post the “details”…..after I received my “script” for the show so I would know exactly what is going to be on it. However, if I wait I may not have the time, so I will tell you what I know for sure and follow up later with what else is scripted. Pencils ready? Here we go:
1-A217979, Is the riding jacket. Many of you have already seen my “sneak peek” of this jacket on my last show. Of course, it is not an authentic “riding jacket”, but it is my fantasy of a riding jacket. The fabric is a slightly heavier weight than my classic poly/rayon/span gab. It is also the same fabric as the straight leg pant from my last show and the slim leg pant on this show. I chose this slightly heavier weight because I wanted a very sharp tailored jacket, which only a fabric like this could achieve. It has a slight cut-away bottom. It also has flap pockets with a bison top [a sign of a well tailored designer jacket]. It has a four button front and four working buttons on the sleeve, with an extra long facing, to enable you to turn the cuff back without seeing the lining…..another designer touch……actually many “designer” jackets don’t even do this…..it’s a wonderful and classy detail. The buttons are mottled faux horn. The jacket also has body seams from the mid shoulder to the hem and princess seams for a beautiful shape. Each seam is top stitched, again, for superb tailoring. The collar is a special velvet cloth and and the collars are always black. The colors are Fawn and Hunting Red….when ordering just ask for red it that’s your choice. Of course the fawn straight leg or new slim pant [which I will be showing with the jacket], matches perfectly. Also, the fawn crew neck, short sleeve sweater matches beautifully. I will be showing one of the jackets with the new “essential” acrylic and wool long gored skirt, which is the same knit as the pencil skirt and, it is perfection. It moves beautifully and has just enough weight to conceal what needs to be concealed.. I will also be showing a new stand collar, faux charmuse shirt under the hunting red jacket. This jacket with jeans will become a fall uniform.
2-A217977, is the faux silk charmuse stand collar blouse. It has a stand collar and shirt cuffs. It also has a fly front which means the buttons are hidden which gives the blouse a clean front. It also comes with a narrow oblong scarf/ascot….to be used or not. It even looks good tied in a bow. The colors are Ivory…..perfect for so many things…under the pearl and ribbon emb. jacket …..unbuttoned for a more casual look….maybe with jeans and perfect under the new jackets….the riding and quilted. Olive, which looks wonderful under your new olive cardigan or for a totally different look….. with your olive paisley Boho skirtfrom July. It’s a great color and will look great under tweed…..I’m thinking of someones new Burberry! The third color is black and it is gorgeous and the perfect background for all of mt pearl necklaces. Of course it is totally washable.
3-A217976, is my new quilted jacket in a brand new fabric. It is 70% cotton and 30% nylon. Due to the nylon, the fabric has a VERY SLIGHT sheen, nothing anyone would find objectionable. It takes the jacket a notch above similar jackets. There are lots of special details. It has a stand collar with two snaps, and a snap front closure. The jacket has body seams for a nice subtle shape….it is NOT boxy like some of these jackets are….it is by no means a barn jacket! It has pocket flaps, but the real pockets are in the seams below the flaps. It has a curved slit at the side seam with two more snaps. This detail also repeats on the hem of the sleeve…with an opening with two snaps. The entire jacket is piped….the collar, front, hem, pocket flaps and body seams….always in black. All colors have a black satin lining that is quilted together with the top fabric… to give the quilting a slight puffed effect. This is not a fat quilted jacket and is actually quite flat. It also is not a heavy jacket and could easily be worn inside or out. Later in the season when it gets much colder……you can layer with sweaters. The colors are Black, Olive and Bronze which is a dark camel/ tobacco color [I actually gave the mill… bronze leather to match]…..all with black and antique brass trims. It’s the type of jacket I see lots of Connecticut women of all ages, running around town in. It looks great very casual with jeans or, dressed up with the black Boho or the new long gored skirt. This is a jacket for everyone.
4-A217972, IS THE SLIM PANT!!!!! On your marks get set……..order early or you will definitely lose out. The colors and fabric are the same as the straight leg pant and the riding jacket, which I LOVE! with this pant. It’s not that I don’t like the straight leg pant with the riding jacket….it’s just that this is more the ” authentic look”. Ladies don’t let slim scare you…..these are not jeggings! They are beautifully tailored clean hanging pants. These pants, as the straight leg pant, will be avail in regular and petite length
5- A217982, IS THE BIG SURPRISE, it is a long, aprox 33 inch, lurex skirt. Think of my crinkle georgette , as in Boho, with lurex. It is actually more like a Fortuny fabric which has tiny crystal pleating…..something like an accordion. It has two tiers with an elastic waist and it is a pull-on. It is very rare that I find a fabric that looks as rich and expensive as this that I can afford to bring to you. It is one of those pieces that looks like you spent hundreds…. if not four figures… for it……IMHO… it’s that good! I’m thrill to be able to offer it to you. The colors are black with gunmetal/silver lurex and black with gold/ silver lurex. The silver mixed with the gold gives the fabric an antique look, but it is definitely predominately gold and black…..to say it looks incredible with a black turtleneck, like my reorder silk and cashmere and gold or silver jewelry…..is an understatement. It is lined in the tricot knit as is the Boho ,so it is extremely comfortable. There are a zillion ways I can see wearing this skirt…from a white shirt , a great belt and boots to the black turtleneck or the whisper v-neck sweater [it’s coming]and the reorder black suede jacket with buckles. Perfect for your winter concerts and special events. A big heads up….next month I will be offering a matching top in the same fabric as the skirt and you will get a sneak peek on this show!
That is it for the new…..now for the essentials scheduled for this month…..I’m not sure exactly when they will be avail……I will try to find out. Many of you already own the acrylic/wool knit pencil skirt that I have been running for a few years. It has been so successful that we decided to add some new essential pieces in this yarn. Many of you( if you had power!) have already seen these items as sneak peeks on my last show. They will all be avail. in the same four colors: Black, Steel Gray, Cassis and Dk. Mallard Blue. The pucker blouse with the companion cowl matches beautifully.
6-A217986, is the long gored skirt. It is aprox. 34-35 inches long. Many of you may remember a similar skirt I had done and we offered for a few years running. It was made in a cotton/acrylic blend. It is basically the same skirt but due to the new yarn….this skirt is actually lighter in weight and has beautiful movement without being too much fabric. With long skirts being the “new” trend for fall 2012….I think this one will suit all of your long skirt needs.
7-A217983, is the new waist whittling cardigan that so many of you made mention of. It has a jewel neckline, which is slightly more open than a crew neck, and a button front. It has ribbing at the sleeve hem and the bottom of the sweater. Due to the yarn and the way the sweater is knit, the ribs are a little more relaxed and not as tight as the whisper knit crew neck with the waist whittling ribs: A210360. If you want more of that effect…on an ironing board….push the ribs closer together and steam them. That will shrink them in more than they are. I happen to like them as they are and think it has a certain elan. This style is perfect with either skirt if you want a matched look or equally good with pants…..
8A217985, is the V-neck tunic. I did this exact sweater for Anne Klein….made in Italy out of Merino wool. I can tell you they look exactly the same. This is an Every Needle Rib sweater so it is the exact same knit as the two skirts. It is totally fully fashioned, which means there are no added trims on the V or the hems of the garment. It also has slanted fully fashioned side slits. You will not find a sweater like this anywhere! It is perfection and totally chic! I sneak peeked it on Angela in the cassis with the matching pencil skirt. It can be dressed up or down, layered or not and,I guarantee it will be your new favorite sweater. Just be careful of your daughters or it will be gone.
Well my dear friends, that’s it for Sept. After I get the script of the show….if there is anything else for you to know I will get back to you. I hope you are all having a wonderful Labor Day Holiday!
……………..Much Love to all, Louis
