On June 22, 2013…..I will be on PM Style with a brand new STRIPE PONTE KNIT DRESS, A235307. The sketch above is an example of the sketches I do for the stylists and the models so they know who is to wear what and how each should look in their individual outfits…..I leave nothing to chance…………..This is the way I was trained and it’s hard to teach “old dogs new tricks”……….. I have taught, by example, many of the designers you may know who have worked for me over the years. Each model gets a sketch on a plastic bag with all of her accessories in it, so she knows exactly how I expect her to look when she comes out onto the runway. They love doing the show, because it feels like a real runway show, but it is a lot of work with usually 4 to 6 minutes in between changes………………..I thought you might enjoy getting a glimpse of what goes into doing one of my presentations……………..

I will be on QVC this coming Monday morning at 6am with Pat and Jane, and I will be showing three garments. I will be pairing some of them with sneak peeks of things to come. I have the 1st 2nd and 3rd sells, so I start the show. I will also be on PM Style this Monday night, June 22nd. One of the items I will be showing is this new PONTE KNIT STRIPE DRESS, A235307. First I have to say, this dress is quality from….A TO Z……..The fabric is 67% Polyester, 31% Rayon and 2% Spandex. This is a yarn dye fabric, meaning each color yarn is dyed separately to create a saturated vivid color and then knitted into the fabric. You may ask…..”aren’t all stripes done that way” and the answer is no…..but I won’t get all technical on you, but YARN DYE it the most expensive way to do a stripe. Years ago there was a French company called “Racine Jersey”……They made the most beautiful knit fabrics in the world….the stripes were amazing and they used the finest wools money could buy. Every high end designer wanted their fabric, but they only worked with the best. In the 70s and 80s dresses similar to this one were in every fashion magazine. YSL, Chanel, Dior, Norell,  Blass, Oscar etc etc used the Racine jerseys in their collections…….so you might say, this dress has a slight retro look, but today as then it is totally MODERN…………… The dress has a CAP SLEEVE and a JEWEL NECKLINE. The XS measures approx. 39 inches. It has a chemise fit with gentle waist definition. The band pockets are on the diagonal for easy access…….PLEASE NOTE……all of the stripes are MATCHED at the side seam……….. Layering with a turtleneck is a definite option when the SNOW starts to fall!!! The dress is unlined for maximum stretch and total comfort. The color above is ……….COCOA……….It is a combination of a deep Cocoa Brown, Olive and Topaz as the accent…….a wonderful FALL combination of colors…………….The sneak peek TOPAZ SUEDE JACKET, A236138, will be coming in Aug…..I’ll give you all the details then…..I love the suede jacket and dress together……….Your Topaz jacket from last fall will work too……………scroll down for more colors…….enjoy……much Love………….Louis

The second color way of the A235307, STRIPE PONTE DRESS is………………Blue…………….It is a combination of………… BLACK, GREY and BLUE…………To be clear…..this is not Limoges Blue which is a true vivid blue. The blue in this dress has more green in it………….bordering on a peacock, but definitely BLUE. Of course this dress can be worn with all sorts of……. black  jackets……leather, suede, boucle, ponte knit etc.,……. sweaters and shrugs…..depending on your mood and the look you want to go for. I have chosen to feature the dress with the BLACK WK KIMONO SWEATER, A233950……which really is an all purpose sweater. When winter comes, and it will….add a black turtle…..whether it be the sleeveless mock neck [depending where you live],  or the classic WK turtleneck………add your cardigan or jacket of choice and off you go…….looking absolutely CHIC !!…… For those of you who are fearful of stripes….a hint….to minimize the effect of horizontal stripes wear a solid jacket or cardigan that comes below your derriere…….this way you only have a narrow column of stripes down the front, as illustrated above………there is no reason y0u should deprive yourself of wearing  these wonderful deep color combinations. The third and last color combination for the A235307, PONTE KNIT STRIPE DRESS, is……………….CHERRY……………………It is a combination of…………….CHERRY RED………………HOT PINK…………….BOYSENBERRY……

The colors are absolutely yummy…………..I will have a jacket or two that will work over this dress!…….It is definitely an emotional color combination…..it’s just beautiful…….enjoy…………much Love…………..Louis

I think the MEDALLION PRINT SCARF TOP, A227572, would be a perfect piece to wear  transitioning into Fall. The inspiration for the print came from a vintage ETRO SCARF, which Mr. Etro gave to Jac as a present. I collaborated with Mr Etro for many years working to develop prints and fabrics for the Anne Klein Couture collection. The detail and delicacy of this print is extraordinary, and it is almost impossible to get this type of fine printing done today at a reasonable price. The factories simply do not want to print such fine lines……frankly it’s too much work for them and they want easier and less complicated things to print. Soon, only the most expensive fabrics, such as the Etro prints, will have this kind of work and detail……… The OLIVE combination,on the left, looks great with the MOSS FJ pants, a pair of Olive Capri pants or crop pant. It looks wonderful with the FJ Olive skirt pencil skirt too……when the weather gets cool,, just layer a FUCHSIA WK Turtle neck under it and you can wear it all winter long. The BLUE in the middle looks great with JEANS, as well as the FJ SMOKE pants and MAXI SKIRT ………………the PURPLE looks great with the WALNUT FJ pant as well as the NEW WALNUT FAUX WASHED SILK PANT coming on the July 30th show.  This is a season-less piece, and can be worn all year long. I know you will enjoy just looking at it………………………….Love………Louis
