If you recall, I told you last December, when I introduced my Stripe tunic sweater with the sequin stripes, that STRIPES were going to be BIG for the coming spring /summer season. The cardigan above, A232657, is the perfect example of a stripe garment that works though out the year. The BLACK/HEATHER BLUE combination is very chic and transitions not only seasons….but DAY to NIGHT and CASUAL to DRESSY. What gives a woman her PERSONAL STYLE is her UNIQUENESS and CREATIVITY in the way she dresses. I think this cardigan is a piece that will accomplish that goal……………….enjoy…………Love…………..Louis
BLACK and GREY is a combination I love and use many times….the leopard print, cotton sateen jacket and the baby Cheetah print top are just two examples. BAMBOO and IVORY is acceptable for many areas of the country after August, but for the northerners…..switch out the ivory for khaki, chino, navy or black…………….WINTER WHITE is always in.
Black and White works all year. Where it over your neutrals, black and grey….or over color such as a LAPIS BLUE turtleneck [coming] and a pair of BLACK CREPE trousers, or any of the new jewel colors coming for fall.
One of the best ways to transition into fall is will a sleeveless dress. A232339, is one of my favorite dresses that I presented this past Spring. It is a Polyester/Rayon/Span blend and the fabric is a JACQUARD Ponte Knit. A jacquard means the pattern is actually KNITTED into the fabric as apposed to being printed on top of the fabric. This gives the fabric a natural softness and drape…..there is nothing added on top that sometimes can create a stiffness to a Ponte knit. Ponte knits usually come either in wool or wool blends, or Polyester and poly blends such as this one. Rayon is the ideal fiber to mix with polyester or wool, because it drapes and hold dyes well. I love the OMBRE effect of the speckled pattern………something like a Robins egg. The cap sleeve gives some coverage, and for many is more flattering than a short sleeve…..if the short sleeve isn’t the right proportion it can be aging. Also, with this sleeve length you can easily wear a variety of cover ups…..from the very popular shrugs and boleros….to cardigans and kimonos….to classic jackets and and not so classic, as my gauze jacket below. The drawstring enables you to bring the dress in and give it as much shape as you desire…..or leave it looser for a more relaxed look…..either way looks great. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the three colors being offered….they all work off of BLACK……..come fall and winter…..wear it with a black turtleneck, black tights and boots………….it truly is a season-less dress……..enjoy…..Love…..Louis
