The RAYON/SPAN TOP, A253378, and the CHIFFON BORDERED SKIRT, A253407, will be on my April 3rd show in this saturated……..LAPIS BLUE………….The more styles I do in this fabulous quality of RAYON/SPAN, the more popular it is becoming. The weight of this particular quality of rayon/span is unique to Linea. It is a heavier weight and a more substantial fabric then most. Its’ hand has a certain richness, which has been appreciated by the women who have purchased it. The cowl tunic, the faux wrap dance skirt, the body suit and the dance tunic with the chiffon bottom overlay were all made in this quality of rayon/span. If you haven’t tried it, I’m sure you too will love it……….Let’s talk SHEER………………Sheer is one, if not the biggest, trend to come from the runways in years. Every designer had sheer in one way or another…….from the ridiculous to the sublime! I could not do a Spring 2014 collection without doing my version of sheer for my Linea Ladies……….These pieces are perfect for all lifestyles…..play, work or an evening out…….these are pieces you will enjoy showing off…………..
The TOP has a V-neck line with a separate set in V banding…..a wonderful finish and a beautiful added detail. The top is approx. 24 inches long for the xs. What really makes this top SPECIAL are the SHEER SLEEVES, which are made out of a fine mesh stretch fabric. At the bottom of the sleeve there is a 2 1/2 inch rayon/span band cuff to finish it off……..It’s the perfect piece to mix and match with all the new pieces coming for April….like the linen blend jacket and pant…white jeans or…….the denim vest etc etc……..It can be very casual or party ready………………..For me this top has a COUTURE ATHLETIC LOOK…..very RUNWAY…..very EDITORIAL…………………
The RAYON/SPAN SKIRT is PULL-ON. The entire back and three quarters of the front has elastic. There are flat pleats in the front to give ease and to provide the sweep at the hem……they also provide camouflage.. Even with the sweep….the skirt hangs very straight as you can see from the pictures above. There are POCKETS in this skirt hidden in the seam which is placed a little more forward than a normal side seam would be…..This is to give easy access and they are more comfortable in this position………….Again, what makes this skirt of the moment, and gives it the edge you look for in today’s clothing……………is the SHEER CHIFFON BORDER………The border is approx. 5 inches on a skirt that is approx. 28 inches long…..including the border. Casual with flip flops and a white “T”………. or with clear jeweled sandals and the matching top you can not go wrong. When I look at this top and skirt in the WHITE….I can picture Elizabeth Taylor in “Suddenly Last Summer”…………blazing WHITE………………….This top makes for a fantastic new type of T SHIRT, and with the sheer sleeve it is just provocative enough, but you still have the coverage to make you comfortable………Sleeves that will keep you COOL…..now that sounds like an oxymoron! You can wear this white top with literally EVERYTHING, from white tennis shorts, a pencil skirt to a maxi skirt…..from leggings, Capri pants, dress trousers to jeans. I think it makes one fantastic dress look with the matching skirt, but again….. think of all the WK tops and other pieces you can wear with a fabulous white skirt……and yes….all of the skirts in all of the colors are LINED………I have chosen to accessorize with my TORTOISE pieces……the earring which has just recently sold out, and two of my Tortoise necklaces J278135 which I’m sure won’t be far behind…………If…. The APRIL 3rd shows at 2PM & 6PM are right around the corner….so I thought I should get the sneak peeks going!………………………….The first pieces I have chosen are the 51% LINEN/49%RAYON JACKET and PANT….Why these pieces??….because they are the nucleus of the the April grouping…….They work with everything and everything works with them as you will see as I continue with the April Sneak Peeks. Of course the entire April collection doesn’t depend on these two pieces, but they give more dimension and interest to the possible outfits you will be able to put together…….Many of you have asked and asked to bring LINEN fabrics to the Linea Collection….and I have searched and searched for just the right one……so………..why this one. First, it is a wonderful blend of Linen and Rayon which, due to the rayon, gives the fabric a wonderful drape and softness……This looks exactly like many of the Linen fabrics I have used over the years…from Italy….. Some linens can be very crisp and wrinkle a lot. Many Linen lovers understand this characteristic, but this is also the reason it has created Linen non-believers. The fact that it is a blend with rayon……and…..it is an end on end weave, as you can see in the blow up photo, this fabric doesn’t wrinkle like a solid linen, also the bi-color also camouflages any wrinkling that may occur……..does it wrinkle….yes… it is LINEN, but much less and it is much less noticeable……………………..That is the reason I chose this fabric………………………………………………………………………………………
THE JACKET, A253575, the color ………..BLACK & WHITE ……………The silhouette of the jacket is that of one of your favorites, A233182, the LINEA PONTE JACKET. The detailing is almost the same….the seaming, the top stitching, and the same style of patch pockets……The length is approx 26inches for the XS. The major differences are…..the new Linen jacket has a single button closure, there are long sleeves and the body of the jacket is LINED, but the sleeves were left unlined. I left the sleeves unlined so they can be easily rolled up for a more relaxed attitude and it is much COOLER…… LINEN …IS one of the coolest fabrics you can wear……..that is why it is worn in countries around the world with the hottest most humid climates. There are snap out shoulder pads TOO……All the details are here….nothing was left out or forgotten. THE PANT, A253578……and it will be avail. in PETITES too, but I do not have the style number for the petite pant……………The pant is unlined for maximum drape and coolness. It has a front zip, trouser pockets and an approx. 9 inch leg opening, [18 inches total]……a relaxed summery pant………. The inseam for the reg. is approx. 31 inches with a 1 1/4 inch hem. Due to the fact that their is no stretch to this fabric…there is a back elastic and a partial front elastic. Instead of a darted front….the dart has been left open like a small pleat for more ease……..These are numerically sized, and I recommend you buying your regular Linea size. I also love these pants with a PRESSED FRONT PLEAT, but they do look good either way………In the photos above I have used the WK STRIPE SHORT SLEEVE sweater in BLACK & WHITE, A253410……..and for my more adventurous and fashion forward ladies….the new PRINT CROP PANT, A253578. This is the same beautiful cotton/nylon light weight blend that I used for the BIRD and FLORAL prints of last summer……..There really are endless ways you can combine so many things you own, or the new pieces coming up. with this jacket and pants…..just add a FIESTA color WK for a totally different look……..Silver, gold, gunmetal and all kinds of color jewelry works with these clothes. I have chosen the GUNMETAL CHAIN HOOP EARRING, J267610………………I couldn’t be more pleased with the fabric or the way these pants were manufactured…..I hope you agree…………………………………………………………….
