HAPPY VALENTINES DAY…..a day late!…………We made it home safe and sound!……………but let me tell you it was a close one! We went down to PA on Weds. to beat the storm, and are we glad we did or we would have never made it there! On Weds afternoon I went to QVC to set up the shows with the stylist and made sure everything was in order, and that night we went to a local restaurant in down town West Chester near our hotel. By the time we came out it was starting to snow..and boy did it come down! Thursday we stayed in our room all day and watched TV….mostly the news and Olympics, and only ventured out for some lunch in the late afternoon. At 11pm we started over to QVC for my 1am hit with Lisa and my 2am show……That was harrowing!….After the show we went back to the hotel for a nap and then back to the Q for the 11am show and Q check……….Thank you all for making it a very successful and worthwhile trip!….I am sure many of you heard about the 100 car pile up on the PA PIKE…..what a horror! Thankfully we weren’t caught up in that mess or we may still be sitting there in our car. We managed to take an alternative route and got home to our three babies who were anxiously waiting for us…..so many Valentines Day kisses!……..What can I say….another adventure with Jac and Louis!….Now for the good stuff
The CHARCOAL GREY ANORAK….A251586……….will be presented this coming MONDAY NIGHT ….FEB. 17th on PM STYLE…….can you believe we have to go down there again!….but the ANORAK is worth it! I will start off by saying….I design many basic pieces for you to build your wardrobes upon…..this is NOT ONE OF THEM……….Many of you ADORE this type of fabric…and some…………If you own any of my SHINE garments from the past, [anoraks and trench coats], and love them…..you will LOVE this fabric too. If shine isn’t your thing….I’m saving you some money…………..For me, garments like this are MUST HAVES in your wardrobes……you can’t always eat vegetables…….sometime we MUST HAVE A SWEET!…………The weight of the fabric is similar to those fabrics I have used before….It’s no heavier than a COTTON Sateen. It is a surprisingly soft fabric, and it does have drape to it….but this is not supposed to be a drapy garment!……..The SURFACE of the fabric is what initially caught my eye………..It has a slightly HAMMERED effect like a piece of metal jewelry, which is PERFECT for the COLORS I have had developed……There are many many details on this jacket…..from the asymmetric zip closing….the V-shaped seaming , front and back, the INSET BAND POCKETS, the ELASTIC CUFF and the DRAW STING….which can be drawn, or not, to suit your preference. This is an unlined jacket….The inside is very SMOOTH and there was absolutely no reason to line it. Sometimes with a draw string, combined with a lining, it can get bulky…..there is no bulk to this jacket………….The fit,the fit, the fit…………….What size to get is SOOOOO ARBITRARY! It really depends on how you want YOUR ANORAK to look. If you want it to look like a normal jacket go with your regular size…..The shoulder measurement would be your most important thing to look at………..Both Jac and I prefer THIS STYLE OF JACKET to look a little over sized so she will be wearing a SMALL not an XS. Take in mind she has broad shoulders. It’s not that my xs sample did not fit her….it fit perfectly through the body as a normal jacket…..a little small in the should, which for her is normal. She, and I, like these kinds of draw string jackets to look over sized…..MANY MANY women DO NOT LIKE OR UNDERSTAND that look….again, it’s totally arbitrary…..so for the vast majority, I would say, go with your normal jacket size……for those that like that luxe over sided look…go up on size………..one other word of caution…..if you have a very long torso and you are long waisted….the draw string will definitely hit above your waist…..for some that look is fine for others it’s an annoyance…..once again, ARBITRARY……….Above….the CHARCOAL GREY ANORAK is paired with the HEATHER GREY PONTE LEGGING an absolute must have, and the FLECKED TANK REORDER IN THE PALE GRAY…..coming this spring…..I know the question will come up….”can you wear this in the rain?”. The fabric has not been treated for the rain and quite frankly if it were….it would have stiffened it……..OKAY….after all is said and done this is a FABULOUS JACKET in TWO FABULOUS colors…..a WONDERFUL addition to anyone’s closet….It can be as casual as your lifestyle requires and can also be worn for dressier occasions…..maybe with a with a terrific dress for the theater or what ever arises…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
scroll UP!……………………….enjoy…………………….much Love…………………………………………Louis
