……………………………………Coming up with new exciting Whisper Knit sweaters each season, that may tickle your fancy, is not an easy task………but it is a challenge I love to take on. Your basic ESSENTIAL CORE pieces are the backbone of your Linea wardrobes. The classic sweaters may be admired, but it’s these special pieces that are noticed by all and garner the most compliments. The WK sweater above is what I call “THE TIERED SWEATER”, A268130……….The color combination is…………………..BURGUNDY and ROSEHIP…….This is basically a V-NECK sweater with a SADDLE SHOULDER, LONG SLEEVES and deep SIDE SLITS………the MAGIC is what happens below the sweater……………….The entire sweater, front and back, has a separate layer which is attached at the neckline, armhole and saddle shoulder. The rest of it hangs free. What you have is practically two sweaters in one. Please notice the two photos at the lower right. I have turned the sweater inside out so you can see exactly how it was constructed, front and back. I know the inevitable question will be…..”can they be worn inside out?” That is totally up to you and your comfort zone. There are “down town” designers who have been known for deconstructing their garments and using the inside as the out side, and it is well accepted……..so…..if you like this look and don’t mind the seams on the outside which look very finished, just as “they” would make them, then my answer is YES, why not…….just carefully remove all the tags! LOL………..This is a very easy fitting sweater with hip room to spare…..it’s meant to be that way! Absolutely NO CLINGING or GRABBING…..It is approx. 29 inches long for the XS. Due to the double layer the sweater was made in the classic jersey stitch……..anything else would have been too heavy. This is a sweater that easily swings both ways……super casual with jeans, a wonderful Saturday sweater, or very work, dinner, church etc. appropriate with dress pants or the WK Aubergine skirt shown above. The Aubergine and the Burgundy are not the same colors, but they are beautiful together. The ROSEHIPS accent color is NOT AS BRIGHT AS MY PHOTO. Don’t get me wrong….it is still a strong color, but not as light or bright as the pictures above……..It is slightly deeper and a little more muted…..Black, Charcoal Grey or Linea Navy bottoms are other options……..Now for the cherry on top of the cupcake…………..If you own the BURGUNDY TRENCH COAT…..this sweater looks fabulous under it and quite unexpected. The same burgundy standard was given to the fabric and knitting mills, but due to yarn differences and different formulas for each yarn type, there will always be a difference. I think they are pretty darn good together…………………..I like the CHOCOLATE metal with this combination. The Chocolate picks up the burgundy and I find the two very pleasing. For me it’s better than gold, silver or gunmetal…….but that’s MHO………..whatever you choose I’m sure will look great……………………………………………………………..enjoy……………………………………….much Love…………………………………………Louis
