“Watched the video”

I recorded the show and Jac and I sat down to see the opening with Brenda in the white Braided top. At first we too thought it was the camera angle and thought it was the black showing though vibrating from the lights. Stripes can do that….but the close ups clearly show damages. Since this is a brand new piece and has never been worn I am not sure what happened to the top. Brenda was not wearing any jewelry that would have caused this and it did not happen to any of the other tops shown. In the ware house when they arrive they are taken out of the boxes, hung on hangers and then plastic bags with all of the necessary info on printed labels [style number, size etc] are put over them. Maybe something happened to this one piece during this process? The stylist then pulls the sizes and colors she needs according to my sketches, and who is wearing what and they they are brought to the models room where they are steamed and or pressed according to what is needed. Then I come in and go over the outfits put the accessory bags and shoes with each outfit and wait for show time where the clothes are handed out to each model. As I said no one even noticed it or we would have had Brenda change. I re-looked at my samples, which come from the same production QVC receives, and tugged it again….. hard….to see if I could tear it…..nothing happened. Having said that I have gotten in touch with my manufacturer to see if she has any explanation of what could have happened………..It could  be that something  happened in the factory and was not caught, or when they were unpacked and hung on hangers…..who knows what goes on and I don’t want to point fingers because know one can know for sure….. and Brenda just happened to get this one fluke top……It’s a mystery that may never be solved….Of course if this should happen to someone’s top QVC would take it back. This just baffles me because these fabrics are tested for strength, color fastness etc etc, and as I said before this is not a fragile fabric…..it’s polyester fibers which are very strong……If I should get anymore information that I think will better answer this mystery I will certainly pass it along. I certainly do not want anyone to feel they are buying an inferior product…..especially one that I was so excited to bring to all of you!………

‘The Braided Knit Fabric”

It has been brought to my attention that there are concerns about the fragility of the Braid Knit fabric. It seems some of you noticed “tears” on one side of the white tunic Brenda was wearing. This morning, right after my appearance on FEW, a stylist and I [not the stylist who ran my show], when to the area where all of the “show samples” are kept. Needless to say it’s the size of an airplane hanger. We looked at all of the tops in all of the colors in the Braided Fabric, and did not find any damages. However, the top Brenda was wearing may have been taken away. However, no one seemed to know about a damaged top. Before the show the stylist, Aubery and I, went through each outfit to make sure all of  the pieces, accessories and shoes were there. We did not notice any damages or we would have switched it out. I will look at the recording I made of the show and look at what you have seen.. I can say that no one noticed the damage or I would have been told about it. I was standing with Brenda and all of the other models waiting just before the show started….we were all talking…and no noticed anything wrong. I just went up to my studio and looked at my white sample. I tugged and pulled the top every which way, and nothing happened. I can say to all of you this is not a fragile fabric…..even though there are sheer sections they are made of polyester, which is an extremely strong yarn. We, my manufacturer, the the fitting teams, plus the factories have been working on this fabric for months, and  no one reported any weaknesses in the fabric. Certainly the factory who sewed the garments would not want to have been responsible for damages to due the fabric and would have reported it immediately. I will ask more questions about this and speak to the stylist when she has another shift, if she saw anything. In the mean time I feel very confident that you will be very pleased with the garments when you receive them……Please let me know what you think when you get your home…………..regards……………………Louis

“THE MAGENTA CASABLANCA MAXI DRESS”

tropical maxi1

………………………..THE CASABLANCA MAXI DRESS…..is the last maxi dress I will be offering for this summer season…..Why Casablanca? You will have to ask Jac, because she named it. When she saw it hanging in my studio she said, “the print reminds me of Casablanca.” Since we were never there I assumed she meant the movie….which she did. I asked her why Casablanca and she said “it’s something I could see a woman wearing at Rick’s Cafe”…….I guess it does have a tropical 40s vibe, and the colors are definitely 40s……..This CASABLANCA MAXI DRESS will be offered in two lengths, A266303 for the regular length, and A266304 for the petite length.. The fabric is the same poly/span jersey I have been using for years and recently used for the Ombre midi dress and the Ombre tunic print. The dress itself has the same bottom as the Ombre midi dress, only longer, so if you like that dress, which most of you did, then you will like this dress too. The top of this maxi dress is completely different as you can see. First, it has a RAGLAND CAP SLEEVE always contrasted with black to high light the black in the print. There isn’t any zipper in this dress and it is a pull-on dress. The sizing is XXS to 3X, which is also different from the Ombre dress. The neckline comes just below the clavicle bone so it is not too low, and gives you a nice silhouette….perfect for accessories. There is shirring  along the neckline which will give some extra bust room…..so for those of you who felt the Ombre dress was a little snug in that area…that should not be the case with this dress. The neckline is piped and has quite a bit of stretch…..not enough to wear off the shoulder, but more than enough to make it comfortable getting on and off. Also, there is no need for a lining in this dress anywhere….Since the top isn’t as fitted as the ombre dress and there isn’t any lining….it’s an easy fitting top……The POCKETS are also in this skirt too. Those of you who own anything in this fabric know how well is washes and packs….no wrinkles at all . You can take it out of your luggage, give it a shake, and put it on. For those of you new to Linea, you might want to give it a try. To me the fabric feels like silk jersey, and it doesn’t cling at all. It is also a nice weight and doesn’t feel too flimsy, or like you are wearing a night gown as some dresses in other fabrics and weights do…..The print, as I said, definitely has a 40s vibe and is a very intricate print as you will see when it arrives to you. There is just the right balance of BLACK…OFF WHITE and in this case……MAGENTA. It looks DESIGNER………. If you need a cover up for chilly places, any black  jacket or cardigan will work. I off the new Black Bolero in the ENR WK or the BLACK WK SHRUG which also has that period vibe and works really well with this dress……..Whether you are off to Casablanca or just your own back yard party, I’m sure you will enjoy wearing your new Linea Maxi Dress…….ATTENTION!!!!!….This CASABLANCA DRESS will be presented on June 5th on the 6:00am FEW show…………….much Love…………………………Louis

“THE MOSS CASABLANCA MAXI DRESS”

tropical maxi

……………………….The second color I am offering in the Casablanca maxi dress is……………MOSS……….Talk about a 40s color….this is it. I think there are many special features to this dress and the colors are at the top of the list. You certainly will not see them hanging on every rack in the department stores you frequent…..After all isn’t that what you are looking for….something unique and unlike anything you have seen or will see on another woman…………For accessories I have chosen the…..PALM FROND NECKLACES and EARRINGS…..They are present, but they also disappear into the fabric, so they don’t fight with the print. Do not underestimate just how seamlessly they work together….. The Palm Frond is repeated in the pattern of the print so these jewelry pieces and print were truly made for each other. The GUNMETAL COLOR is just perfection……………….A simple Black Sandal or wedge is all you need to complete the look…..maybe a straw bag with black trim will add to the TROPICAL mood……………………………………………………………………………….enjoy……………………..much Love………………………………Louis
