……………………………….Where there is a BLACK BRAIDED TOP….you know the SKIRT can’t be too far behind………………Wearing all black in the summer has to be done just right. One way is to introduce something either very bare….or something SHEER. I think the Rayon Jersey V-neck top with the sheer sleeves is just the thing……The new cardigan with the LACE SLEEVES in black is another way to introduce sheer………Any fabulous black top, or color will work. The important statement with this skirt is always the texture, and what you can pair with it to make it interesting. I love the mix of the two faceted crystal necklaces in BLACK JET and CLEAR CRYSTAL. It makes a delicate statement, but a bold one…..that anyone can wear……………………………………

…………………..All STRIPES are NOT EQUAL……….Such is the case with the new printed…..STRIPE MAXI DRESS above………..This is an ENGINEERED PRINT which was created to flatter the body…yes, I said FLATTER…..Can you use the words STRIPE DRESS and SLENDERIZING in the same sentence???…..in this case YES…… The angle of the stripes and the BLACK TRIANGLES that intersect the stripes were done to do exactly that…..SLENDERIZE. Stripes done on the diagonal ELONGATE which is always a good thing…and the print actually camouflages rather then accentuates…None of the negative aspects one might have about wearing stripes applies when stripes are done this way…………The Maxi dress will be avail. in TWO LENGTHS!…..A265610 is for the regular length, and A295611 is for the petite length. I do not have the information about exactly what the lengths are……..The fabric of the dress is a 95% poly/ 5% Span blend. It has a lovely feel and weight. It is not flimsy or thin, and for me, it feels very expensive. The tank neckline and armhole are piped for a clean finish. This fabric does NOT CLING, and is easy care. ……practically wash and wear…….great for travel…..I think the fit on this dress is exactly what it should be, and I would suggest ordering your size because the fabric has lots of stretch.  The dress fit is easy enough so you do not want to size up or it may  be too big. The size range will be offered from XXS to 3X………….This dress is a pull on dress and has no zipper. There is plenty of room at the bottom for a good stride….no slits necessary. I realize that this dress is not for everyone and not for all body shapes, but that does not mean large women can’t wear this successfully.  I’m sure there will be a lot of discussion about it, but if you think it could be for you…..give it a try….you may be pleasantly surprised…Something to think about….we did many fittings on this dress to make sure the stripes hit the body at the right place. Likewise we made sure the armholes were not too big because there is a lot of stretch to the fabric. If you have a large chest and you find the armhole too big…it may not be the armhole, but your chest that is pulling it forward…..just something to consider….The color above is……………….TOPAZ/BLACK……………..The TIGER/ZEBRA Cardigan, A265612, [depending on the coloration], is a sneak peek and will be coming in July as we start to offer a more transitional wardrobe……but I wanted to show how much fun mixing patterns can be when done well…………….For those of you who are less adventurous I have the WK SHRUG, A232520, in TOBACCO, BLACK and IVORY…..and they ALL work with the Topaz/Black dress……..and the new WK BOLERO too……My basic BLACK WK CARDIGAN will work too….just push the sleeves up for a more relaxed attitude…..When I design jewelry I don’t think about the pieces just coordinating with the clothes being offered the same season….but how they will work with clothes you already own, and how they will work in the future. Tobacco, Sienna, Topaz, Terracotta, Clay etc. are colors that I often gravitate to so they repeat from time to time, and I often do jewelry in those tones. The jewelry you bought in the past to work with a certain outfit will never be outdated, and  will always be a welcome and useful  piece in your Linea Jewelry collection. The hammered link and multi color bead necklace that I did a few seasons ago became the perfect necklace to accessorize the Ombre print tunic in Peacock, Fuchsia and Flame from this season………………..Such is the case with the jewelry I have chosen to accessorize with this Topaz dress. At the lower left are my AMBER pieces [called golden brown on the QVC Linea site]. The ENDLESS round disc necklace, J278131, the shorter  overlapping OVAL Disc necklace J278132, the coordinating earring, J278133, and the wide stretch cuff, J278134 are given a new life when worn perfectly with this dress. These pieces have just the right combination of TRIBAL and MODERN………For an alternative The ORGANIC BEAD and RING necklace in the ROOT BEER and GUNMETAL combination, J317652, with the CHAIN HOOP EARRING  in the GM color, J267610, are another great option………Don’t ever be in the situation where you have the right clothes, but not the right accessorizes to make the finished look wonderful. …………………………….MOSS combined with BLACK……………….is the second choice I am offering in the DIAGONAL STRIPE MAXI DRESS. This moss is not dark like my Olive or there wouldn’t be enough contrast between the stripes. It is sophisticated and chic….a very upscale “designer” coloration……………Again, I have accessorized the dress with the same necklaces, earring and cuff as I did the Topaz, only this time in the Olive colors. There are other options as well. The same Root Beer and metal ring necklace is avail in Olive, and if you own the long necklace with the stations of olive beads….that works well too [no style number since it is sold out]. Cover ups for these dresses are easy…..ANYTHING BLACK from the WK Shrug above, A232520, to the Bolero, A265614, coming on the June show, and lots of black cardigans and  jackets you own………… Come Fall…..black boots and a BLACK LEATHER MOTO jacket [one coming this fall], will definitely look fabulous…………………..enjoy…………………..much Love………………………….Louis

……………….Did you think I would do this dress and not offer it in BLACK & IVORY????…………….Above, worn over the dress, is the BLACK WK BOLERO, A265614………………..The UNEXPECTED, and the element  of SURPRISE can transform an outfit, and give it your personal touch. I have chosen the AQUA FROSTED BEAD NECKLACE and EARRING SET, J321803, to off set the boldness of the stripe. The Aqua is also an unexpected touch. Of course I now have numerous necklaces to choose from in Black as an alternative….the Waterfall necklace, a simple strand of Black beads, the Jet Cluster necklace and the various long Black Jet faceted bead necklaces will give you a variety of ways to change things up…..Metal wise….you have your DOUBLE STRAND METAL BEAD necklace, J296893, in GOLD, GUNMETAL. ***********************************Happy Memorial Day ****************Time goes by in a flash. It seems I was just sending you all Memorial Day wishes yesterday, but another year has definitely gone by. This year was marked by the stories of extreme weather, and extreme terror. The world and the planet seem to be in more turmoil then ever. What is happening across our nation is horrifying…….it’s either extreme drought or extreme flooding, and the tornadoes scare the daylights out  me . The record breaking snow fall seemed like it would last forever and in parts of the country it’s still snowing!…..and this is just in the USA. Earthquakes all over the planet seem to be always in the news…….Is Mother Natures telling us something?………Monsters are roaming the planet, and I mean the human kind……it’s just too unbelievable to discuss, and frankly I’ve read and seen enough on the news to last a life time………………but today we honor those who have given their lives for us and for this country. Young men and women who courageously went into battle for all the right reasons…..believing in what our leaders told them was just and right. I pray for them and their families, and pray that the lives they sacrificed was for a cause that was right and just.
