THE OATMEAL LACE-UP HOODIE”
……………….This morning I noticed an underlying coolness in the air….Jac and I always say “Fall is in the air”, and with my show being on August 22nd…..Fall is just around the corner. With Fall come the local antique shows ( some of them out side), Flea markets, our trips to the apple orchards in northern Ct.,and all the other fun things we look forward to with the changing of the season…..More and more casual clothes are taking a larger space in Jac’s closet!
The LACE UP as a detail has been around for centuries….think of the men and women’s attire through the centuries…..Laced front bodices, and vests…laced up sleeves on jackets…..Laced up shirts like Buccaneer shirts, laced up corsets and the Gibson girl etc etc……More recently in the 40s and 50s designers like Claire McCardell and Bonnie Cashin used the detail, and introduced a more relaxed way of dressing…..perhaps the beginning of casual dressing. YSL brought it to the fashion runway with his cotton poplin safari pull over shirts…..The lace up showed up more recently on leather tunics from Ralph Lauren……….I have utilized the lace up detail on my new LINEA LEISURE LACE UP TUNIC HOODIE, A279523…..The fabric is my new FRENCH DONEGAL TERRY, a 60% cotton 40% polyester blend……There are tiny flecks of color that appear here and there….hence DONEGAL…….There are many details that make up this top….starting with the easy fitting silhouette……The body has a gentle A-LINE, and has a semi swing effect. The BODY SEAMS help to create the shape. The HOOD also has an easy fit. Please notice the HERRINGBONE TAPE used to cover the hood seam and the entire inside neckline. This gives the garment a more finished look…..a more Designer look….an added detail that is often left off leisure garments….The front lace up is achieved with metal grommets and a DTM cord. On the OATMEAL the grommets and metal cords tips are in a burnished BRONZE……..There is no need to wear anything under the top because there is an attached modesty piece…….Layering is optional when weather warrants the need…. The top, which is approx. 28 inches long for the xs, has patch pockets with the addition of the inserted set- in band for easy access. This type of pocket detail has become a Linea signature………..Subtly embroidered on the pocket is the Linea emblem. The sleeve is finished off with a cuff…….I have chosen to layer the tunic with the new TAUPE WK TN, A72448, and for a bottom the TAUPE LINEA LEISURE PANT, A262070/A262072. The total effect of the Oatmeal and Taupe is very sophisticated, soothing and low key……………enjoy……..much Love……….Louis
