I may have posted these pictures before, but since it was one of the high lights of our African trip I thought I’d post it again. Peter booked the DumaTao Barge for an early lunch as we sailed down the Linyanti River. On the table we sat at were baskets with African printed fabric drawstring bags. In each bag were different foods in containers. There were different types of salads, skewers with roasted chicken and beef, and a fresh fruit salad for desert. I washed it down with two Campari and Sodas [my lunch limit]. My nephew Chris brought his portable MegaBoom3 speaker so we had beautiful Chris Boti music to accompany us. It created the perfect majestic atmosphere. I asked Peter if one could swim in this incredibly clear fresh water and he said “not if you want to get out alive!” The water was filled with crocks and hippos, but we only saw two hippo heads peeking above the water. You never know what is lurking below!!!! That’s why I prefer POOLS!…It was wonderful to see the Duma camp and the land and grasses from a water perspective….something no other camp we went to or would be going to offered. That early evening Peter booked the smaller faster boat that would take us through the reeds and shallower water. We would stay out until sunset!….DumaTao was definitely my favorite camp.

……….As we were driving along through the bush one morning, Peter, our guide, saw this huge skull of a hippo on the side of the road. He hopped out of the jeep, picked up this huge heavy skull and gave us a lesson on the eating habits of the hippo. What I wanted to know was how did this hippo come to be so far inland and where were the rest of its’ bones???? Peter didn’t have an answer for that one, but he was knowledge about everything else. We still keep in touch though social media. On thing social media is good for!

After my trip to Africa all of the Masaai and Samburu group is looking better than ever! ……The silver/gold jewelry manufacturer was very disappointed in the decision to stop making the jewelry since we were starting to grow a nice new Sterling silver and Sterling silver with gold plate business. Many of the pieces sold out and were reordered. The owner of the company approached me and asked if I would be interested in going forward with this line of jewelry…….I discussed it with Cathy, my partner in crime so to speak, and she thought it would be a great idea…….I’M BACK IN THE JEWELRY BUSINESS!!!!!!!You all know I LOVE DESIGNING, and this way I can still do what I love. I can also offer you the finest jewelry out of Italy. This has always been my passion and my passion will never die…. It will only be as successful as you all make it, and I’ll always love designing for you!…..I LOVE the new designs we are developing……The Anniversary Hoop is the first item to come through. For me they are the best hoop around. They have presence without being overdone. They are MODERN , but still can be worn with anything as an everyday earring…..and……..they will make an INCREDIBLE GIFT for someone very special in your life!….I hope you are all happy with this new turn of events…..I wasn’t looking to do anything….it just came to me which is the way my entire career has been………………enjoy………much Love…….Louis
