“A day at the pool con’t”

………….It really was the perfect day to skip the bush and take a day off just to relax. The weather couldn’t have been nicer. The shaded lounges were very welcome, because the sun was very strong. The breeze off the river kept you cool from the blazing sun. The water was cold but refreshing once you goy used to it. I asked Dolly if she was the life guard too. She replied with a big smile and her giggle, ‘Oh no I can’t swim!”. Then she pointed to a brass plaque embedded into the deck at the top of the pool. It read “SWIM AT YOUR ON RISK”. She was off the hook!
A day at the pool. Chris was playing bartender while Dolly was doing her chores. I had a tasty lunch, and sweet Temmy was waiting to take me over to the spa for my massage.

I’m on my way to the pool complex at DumaTau. The gym, a gift shop, a bar and across the path is the spa. Dolly is in charge of the “Deli” which is the bar. The pool is fabulous, but the water took some getting used to. At first it was cold, but I got used to it and enjoyed it under the hot sun. The lounge chairs were in the shade which was the perfect place to read or nap. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken…..yummy. Dolly brought me some African COLD white wine. The spa across the way is where Temmy gave me a fabulous massage and then a sea salt scrub. My skin felt like silk. She then escorted me outside into a separate large bathroom with a wonderful shower fully equipped with soap, shampoo, conditioner and body moisturizer. Chris was up next and we agreed it was one of the best massages we ever had, and Chris owned a spa so he knows what he’s talking about…..but that’s another story. We took one afternoon off from the bush and spent a wonderful time at the pool…..all this and an incredible VIEW!!

…………..The pool was located just after the last room down the path. It was between the DumaTao camp and Small Duma camp and was shared by both camps. It was situated right on the Linyanti River…WHAT A BREATHING VIEW!!!!! Chris and I decided to take an afternoon off from going into the bush and took advantage of the pool, gym and spa. I ordered lunch, a Cesar salad with chicken and COLD AFRICAN WHITE WINE! which Dolly brought me with a smile and a giggle. The pool water took some getting used to, it was cold, but once I got used to it….it felt wonderful under the heat of the African sun. After lunch and a swim Temmy gave me a fantastic massage followed by a sea salt scrub. She was great. I played my music and I was lost in the moment. After the scrub Temmy escorted outside to another small building which was the bathroom and shower. It was fully equipped with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer and huge soft bath towels…..wonderful. Chris was up next. One wall of the massage room was all glass and Chris had a audience of monkeys! He agreed with me that Temmy was fabulous, and Chris should know because he owned a spa for a few years, but that’s another story. I truly wish we had a few more days at DumaTao to just lay out at the pool!
Our suite of rooms at DumaTao was incredible. As you went down the wooden path a number 5 was embedded into the wood. You entered into a nice size ante room. There was a nice size living area, a large bedroom with two beds and mosquito netting that the maids would drop in the evening. Behind the bed was a desk and a cooling system. The netting held the cool air inside. We had a beautiful deck with a plunge pool, and an incredible view! The bathroom was huge with a double indoor shower, a large copper tub and an outdoor shower. It was all FIVE STAR.
