“THE MAY 2012 LACE TUNIC”

…………………..The very open stitch look of the faux lace tunic came with a matching jersey tank. The fabric was actually a knit in a paisley open stitch pattern. It was one of those special fabric that come along very seldom, and when you find one you snatch it up! It came in black and olive. There were so many ways to wear them….as a beach cover up, or over leggings, or over a long beachy skirt……

“THE MAY 2012 SAMBA DRESS”

……………….The Samba Dress came out exactly as I had hoped….The plunging front was very sexy, but with the modesty piece nothing was revealed. The bolero cardigan was the perfect cover up over the Violet and Deep Peacock dresses.

“THE MAY 2012 CAFTAN DRESS”

…………………….I really wanted it in a sheerer lighter weigh georgette so it was more see through. I wanted it to have a lighter airier look. It was actually more sheer than the photos show. I also liked it over ankle leggings. To me it looked more like a “bat wing ” dress than a caftan dress, but everyone liked it this way. The perfect dress to layer on the accessories.

“MAY 2012”

……………………..May was always a bridge between Spring and Summer. In the south the temperatures were already in the 80s……….The jacket at the top left was a cotton twill. Only the front was lined to keep, the jacket COOL! It was 24 inches long so it was on the short side. It had a two button front and a WING COLLAR. Th sleeves were 3/4 with turn back cuffs. It had two sets of body seams front and back to give it a nipped in look. What i wanted the “print” to look like was a DISTRESSES DENIM…..It came in Coral and Sky Blue…….The sweater with the raglan elbow sleeve and scoop neck was a light weight SLUB KNIT. This knit had a two tone effect like a chambray, but it was very subtle because the knit was very fine. It came in Sky Blue and Coral to coordinate with the jacket and the next Floral skirt…….I loved this print then and I still love it. It was a very romantic, antique looking floral in the most beautiful colors. I think it was one of the most beautiful prints I have ever done. The pull-on crinkle georgette skirt [fabric like my boho skirt and safari shirt], had two bottom tiers. It was about 34 inches long….It really said summer. It came in a Navy ground, a soft Turquoise ground and a soft Coral ground. The flowers and leaves in each print were different so the skirts looked very different from one another.. The next skirt was a triple tier skirt with a fourth pleated tier. The whole skirt was 25 inches long. It was a fun summer skirt to wear with flip flops or sandals. It came in Black and Apricot……The little WK sweater next to the skirt was a coordinate, but a cute sweater with any bottoms. As you can see from the sketch it had short sleeves and a square neckline It had tubular trims to finish the edges. What stood out  was the DTM gros grain ribbon front and the GEORGETTE tiny ruffle trimming the horizontal neckline. It to came in Black and Apricot……….The next MAXI dress was in my Poly Jersey…..What nobody new was many times for certain prints like this one and the OMBRE TUNIC…..we used a special jersey out of either South Korea or Taiwan where the prints were printed. They were far superior doing complicated prints. We would have the finished fabrics then shipped to China for the garments to be “Made In China”, but the fabric wasn’t from China……This maxi dress was an Ikat Print, with special border prints tom be cut and sewn onto the dress. It came in Bright Blue with Turquoise, Brick Red with Mango and Espresso with Hot Pink. White was in all of the prints….This was a terrific travel vacation dress or just out to dinner on a Sat. night.
