“THE MARCH 2012 DENIM JACKET”

……………………This was a fabulous new jacket in a “dressier” denim fabric. It wasn’t as casual as your normal heavier denims, but it couldn’t be mistaken for anything but denim. It came in Indigo, White and Black. The buttons were the new Linea signature button. What made this classic denim blazer super special was the three working buttons on the sleeves that could be turned back to create a cuff. You rarely saw working buttons on sleeves anymore except for very expensive designer jackets…….The true surprise was the PEPLUM in the back. There were many seams to give the jacket a sculptured shape…….The true surprise was the PEPLUM in the back….not too much shirring, but enough to give the effect I wanted……..There was also a BOOT CUT denim pant to match in all three colors.

“MARCH 2012”

…………….OOPS! I posted April before March so I’m doing a little back tracking here!!………March had some wonderful new pieces. Starting at the bottom left was a fabulous DENIM JACKET with SIGNATURE LINEA BUTTONS….The fabric was more of a dressy denim than a casual one…The jacket had SIX top stitched seams in the front for shaping, and five seams in the back. It had inseam band pockets and a three button front. The sleeves had three working buttons that could be turned back into cuffs. The back had a RUFFLED PEPLUM which was the STATEMENT of the jacket, besides all of the other details that would have been statement enough…..A boot cut zip front denim pant coordinated with the jacket. Both pieces came in Indigo, White and Black………….The poly jersey Pucci type patch work print had tonal coloring. It had a V-neck and 3/4 sleeves. It came in Yellow, Blue and Pink….These tops were perfect for traveling…..The georgette print tunic had circular ruffles set into curved seams at the bottom of the top and the bottom of the sleeve. The print was a type of distressed tropical abstract floral print. It came in Green, Terracotta and Black………….The sweater was in a rayon yarn that I used for the sweater that had the stripes going from one sleeve across the body and down the other sleeve. This had a novelty stripe. The stripes over the lower body were tonal colors so there wasn’t a strong horizontal look. The colors were Navy and Dark Blue for the body and green, ivory, red and navy for the top. The second combination was Black and Dark Grey for the body stripes and Fuchsia, Pink, Ivory and Black for the top.

“MARCH 2012 CON’T”

………………………..For March 2012 there were some additional special unique pieces. Starting at the lower left were three coordinating pieces…..The Embroidered Kimono jacket, the tank tunic and the pull-on pant all in a faux Crepe de Chine.. The kimono had beautiful embroidered sleeves combining different stitches. All three pieces came in Cream, Coral and Black….A kimono is always a wonderful and exotic cover up….The floral print maxi dress was in a new fabric for Linea. It was a very fine slub stretch knit. It had a weight to it, but it wasn’t heavy. The dress had an elastic scoop neckline, a cap sleeve with elastic hem and an elastic Empire waist line….There were pleats below the Empire waist to give the bottom more fullness…There were inseam pockets too…….The fabric had a wonderful drape and the dress just flowed…..It came in Chartreuse, Orchid and Black…The last dress was a sweater knit. It followed the line of the body What was interesting was the emb. detail. It had a band of different sized sequins and bugle beads outlining the scoop neck and the back neckline. There were also three emb bands going horizontally across the scoop neck as you can see in the sketch and emb. swatch. What was also interesting about this dress that gave it a modern edge was the exposed zipper in the back. We made this dress so you could wear it reversed with the zipper in the front. It came in Navy, Black and Sand all with tonal emb.
