“MY BIKINI BRACELETS”
…………………………A little story………Yesterday I went on an errand to buy clear, small round light bulbs that surround my bathroom mirror. There are 22 of them, and one is out so I thought I’d pick up a few at this lighting store…………..As I was checking out this very pretty, and very young lady said to me, “I LOVE your bracelets!”….so I gave her a closer look and told her all about the “BIKINI” bracelets. I told her I was the designer and asked if she would like to know where to get them……”YES’ she replied, so I gave her all of the info on my QVC site. I told her it was part of a group….. a set of three bracelets that came in Silver, Gold Plate or Rose Gold plate. There was also a set of three ankle bracelets and a double strand necklace. She proceeded to tell me she just lost her ankle bracelet at the beach…”cheap clasp” she said…..so I showed her the Lobster Claw closing and told her I’ve worn mine swimming and in the shower….”no problems”. She was excited to hear about the ankle bracelets too. She loved that I was wearing the gold and silver together….She was going to tell her mother to get them for her for Christmas. She said her Mom loves jewelry and would probably buy things for herself too…………..I wear mine every day, and I always get a compliment from someone…..Most of the time I forget I’m wearing them because they are so light……They are already sold out in Rose Gold in the smallest size…I love that they work for both women and men.
“LET THE CHILDREN PLAY AND SING AND CREATE ART”
………………………It disturbs me when I see so many children attached to their phones and tablets, and whatever devises they are using now!!!! What happened to PLAY….to SINGING….to DRAWING…..to socializing…to expressing themselves freely….to DREAMING…..to playing MAKE BELIEVE!……It is so different from the way I grew up, and IMHO it is not a better way….. I recently heard a parent say referring to their children’s devises as “built in babysitters”…..SHAME ON THEM! I blame parents who won’t take the time to expose their children to the arts, to what there is out there in the world to enjoy and investigate instead of living such insular lives attached to machines.!
“HAPPY FALL”
……………………Happy Fall everyone…………Fall is one of my most favorite times of the year……but it can also be a melancholy time of year…….The warm weather is ending….the days are getting shorter….and the beautiful summer flowers are dying…….However, the cooler weather is welcome….the colors of fall are magical, the fall dishes are yummy, and it’s FIREPLACE time again. Enjoy every moment of the fall season.
“IMAGES OF A ROYAL FUNERAL”
…………………I did not get up at 4am to watch the proceedings, but once I turned the TV on I was hooked…………..The pomp and circumstance was unbelievable……steeped in Royal splendor, an historic even that shouldn’t be missed.. I firmly believe we will never see the likes of this again….ever. There are many reasons for this. Firstly it is very very unlikely that there will ever be a British monarch that will reign as long as Elizabeth 11. A queen who rivaled all of her predecessors…….I doubt the money spent on this entire ceremony will ever be spent again. It has already been reported that King Charles has said his funeral will be much smaller…………All that said….this was an historical occasion…….I really did not think I would get emotional watching the proceedings……but…..there were moments that I was completely caught off guard…..Four that immediately come to mind were at the very end when the lone bagpiper, with his back to the camera, marched up the empty hallway and out of site……his music drifting off…I found this very poignant, and it brought tears to my eyes. I later learned this was requested by the Queen herself, and the bagpiper woke her every morning with this special song….When one of her long time most senior advisors, the Lord Chamberlain, stood at the foot of the casket and broke the rod in two signalizing his duty, and her staffs duty had ended……it was so sad symbolizing an era over…..I wasn’t expecting to see the casket being lowered into the vault inside the Cathedral…..it was so final…so sad…The other was seeing Charles’ face when, at the very end, they played “God Save the King”. It was apparent that there were tears in his eyes…….He gave the expression, “a stiff upper lip” a knew meaning…..I took these pictures at the moment they were occurring so I would have these images so I would never forget what I saw and how I felt. Her reign is now a part of history.
