“THE PANT SUIT”

…………….The May 2013 PANT SUIT definitely had a “Chanel” flare……It was made in what I called a “Faux Hopsack”. The obvious weave had the look of a hopsack fabric due to the thickness of the yarn. The button front jackets had contrast banding around the neck, down the front, around the hem and at the top of each of the four pockets. It also hadĀ  real shell buttons that were used in their natural state for the BAMBOO/BLACK combination, and they were tinted BLUSH for the BLUSH/BLACK combination. The pant was a classic zip front straight leg with an elastic gore in the back waist band. This is a timeless suit that 10 years later still looks current.

“THE LOTUS PRINT CARDIGAN & TANK”

………………The LOTUS PRINT was printed on a DOUBLE GEORGETTE making it slightly sheer, but not necessitating a lining of any sort. I did this print originally for Anne Klein, as seen above in the lower center photos, from my AK Look Book, It was developed for me by ETRO on silk double Georgette……The Linea version was also in a double georgette, but this time on a beautiful polyester…..I know polyester to this day still has a bad reputation, but it has come a long way, and constantly shows up on designer collections in one way or another….The edges of both the cardigan and the tank were bound in black. The front of the cardigan was longer, and came to points so it was easy to tie……It came in two color combinations………BAMBOO/BLACK….and BLUSH/BLACK…..It could be worn with the Hopsack trouser…….That season I did Champagne and Blush pearls that everyone loved……and I’m sure still have!

“THE COBWEB SWEATER CARDIGAN”

………………….I always loved “cobweb” kind of knits, but you must find the right yarn and the right machinery to accomplish this…….not all sweater factories are equipped.. This open front cardigan had a swing body and a draped neckline…….The bottom of the sweater and sleeves were finished right off of the machine and were without hems. It made the sweaters light and airy…..The colors were…..BLACK…….IVORY…..and THYME.
