“I LOVE THE SOUND OF RAIN & THUNDER”
I love the sound of falling rain and thunder!!!! Living on the water there are some really incredible shows that Mother Nature puts on for me! I love to lay in bed with the shades on the windows as high as they will go and watch and listen………..and fall asleep.

…………..Mother Nature can put on many shows for us to enjoy, and I love them all, but one of my favorites is the sound of falling rain and the clap of thunder. If there is a storm at night I will raise my shades as far as they will go and lay in bed…..and watch and listen…..until I fall asleep.
“MOULIN ROUGE…..THE REVIEW”
……………………..Before I go into great detail about the show it was……in a word………………FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! This show is what you always hope every show you go to see is going to be, but quite often they don’t meet your expectations…….That was not the case with this magnificent show……There is a good reason this show won 10 TONY AWARDS including BEST MUSICAL!……..The minute you walk into the theater and are completely bathe in a sea of red, the beautiful lights, the stage set, and as you instantly take in all of the surroundings….you know you are in for something really special….The setting is not just on the stage, but it encompasses the entire theater……You are instantly transported to Paris and the world of MOULIN ROUGE……..Our seats were in the 7th row center orchestra…..perfect for taking every detail in…….At the beginning the dancers, scantily clad, start to slowly and sinuously make their way out onto different areas of the stage, and the different levels on the sides of the theater….It was mesmerizing as each simultaneously gave their own subtle performance…..This is one beautiful group of dancers!!!What bodies!!!!They moved incredibly to the Tony award winning Choreography!…. The Tony Award winning Costumes……..were fantastic…..The costumes through out the entire show were magnificent and absolutely deserved the award for best Costumes in a musical. It also won Tony Awards for, best Orchestration, best Lighting Design, best Sound Design, best Director, best Senic Design, best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role, Danny Burstein, and best Actor, Aaron Tveit. There was a little controversy since Mr. Tveit was the only actor nominated in the category. None the less he deserved it. I don’t remember this ever happening before????I guess there was no question on who was going to win!……..TEN TONY wins speaks for itself! The lead actress was also nominated, and she was brilliant. However, she lost to the actress who played Tina Turner…….In a nut shell I loved everything about Moulin Rouge, and was totally transported, which is what any good theater experience should do…….I can not recommend it highly enough……………Afterwards Cathy and I went to Frankie & Johnnie’s for dinner. I used to be a regular at this restaurant when I worked at Anne Klein years ago. Many a night Donna and I would take our assistants there for a late night dinner. We would arrive as the restaurant as it was thinning out from the dinner crowd. We eventually had it all to ourselves and many nights closed the restaurant….The tiny entrance was off the corner of 45th street and up a narrow staircase……It opened in the 1920s as a speakeasy which was always a fun fact. I learned that the restaurant I used to go to closed SEVEN YEARS ago!! Where has time gone!!!…..The waiter, who took care of Cathy and I, third photo down on the right, has worked at Frankie & Johnnies for 27 years! It was nice reminiscing with him……There are hundreds of pictures on the walls of patrons of the old and new restaurant. It’s a who’s who of celebrities………I have to say I miss the old restaurant with all of its’ history…..the old memories have seamlessly mingled with the new.
