…………………I always love when my nephew Christopher comes to visit his Uncle Lou…………I don’t get to see him as often as I would like……distance, work and life can keep us apart……..so it’s great to spend some alone time with Chris…….We get to talk….We can talk about things he really doesn’t have anyone else to say certain things too, and he can really open up to me…..there is nothing he can’t tell me…..and he knows it will always be between him and me….it’s our special time….our special bond…………Chris may be a 6’3″ burly type of guy, but he really is a SOFTY at heart……kind and many times generous to a fault…..What I also love about Chris is he is surprisingly very CREATIVE!……He loves crafts, and makes the most incredible Holiday wreaths….for all of the Holidays……His autumn. Easter, Halloween and Christmas wreaths are amazing!!!….He, like me, loves to decorate, and always loves and appreciates the way I decorate the house, and my table settings for the Holidays….We always stop off at the store…”TERRAIN”…because they always have wonderful, different things to buy for the Holidays…..They already are set up for Christmas, and I always leave with bags in hand…..This time I bought a grapevine tall Christmas tree with tiny LED lights all over it….What can I say….I’m a real sucker for Holiday decorations….just like him!….For Halloween he decorates his house, and does the best job in the his neighborhood……He sits outside, in a costume, and even has a costume on his beautiful dog Bella. He sets up a HUGE caldron filled to the brim with candy for the kids, and even has a separate table with healthy drinks or the kids, and wine for the adults who would like to share a Holiday toast……He goes beyond the beyond…..that’s what I love about him!…….He also knows everything about everything technical….from cars to trucks…..computers and cell phones etc etc……EVERYTHING his uncle, me, is clueless about!…..So, when he visits I always have a list of things I need help with, and he knocks them, out one by one in no time at all!!!…..He has a long time relationship with his girlfriend, Danielle who is very much in love with him. That makes me very happy……but selfishly I don’t like sharing my time with him…..They are both invited to come to visit me at Christmas time when the house is decorated and the Christmas tree is up, and we will spend a lovely weekend together…..I will make him his favorite LEMON CHEESECAKE….take lots of pictures….and create lots of new memories to share!
…………………….It’s a story I have told before….but well worth repeating!……..Years ago Jac and I adopted two elephants……..TARA & FLORA………….When Tara was six months old she was captured in Burma and imported to the America. For 20 years Tara traveled across the world entertaining audiences in circuses, amusement parks, zoos, television and even motion pictures….Her owner, Carol came to realize that an entertainment life style was not suitable for Tara…..Tara was the inspiration for the creation of…..THE ELEPHANT SANCTUARY in TENNESSEE……..After 21 years of entertaining the public, Tara was retired and became the first resident of the Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee. Tara became best friends with Bella a stray dog and they were besties staying together all the time. When coyotes killed Bella, Tara found her body, and cradled Bella back to the barn in her trunk……Tara’s elephant sisters rallied around Tara in support knowing how despondent she was….Tara has become the “social butterfly” and is the first to greet all the new elephants who have come to the sanctuary…….Jac fell in love with her….after all they were both “SHOWGIRLS”………….FLORA……was orphaned in Zimbabwe as a result of a culling [MASS KILLING] of all the adults in her family herd in order to control the wild elephant population…….Flora spent time with an elephant broker in Southern California. She spent 18 years performing under the big top and was even in PeeWee Herman’s movie “BIGTOP” ….After years of entertaining, her owner David realized Flora no longer enjoyed entertaining, and wanted her to have a better life…He researched options…..Eventually, Carol Buckley, the original owner of Tara, and the creator of the Sanctuary was contacted and Flora was sent to the Sanctuary, and was the twelfth member….where she was greeted by….TARA!……..There they remain living the good life they deserve. The Sanctuary continually expands with more elephants, and more land for them to explore, and ponds for them to swim in…..They make their money with donations which I contribute to yearly……You may consider adopting one of these beautiful elephants too!

……………..”ELENA & JAC………….BESTIES FOR LIFE!………….Elena was one of Jac’s best friends….even though they lived on different continents….they always kept in touch. After Jac passed I sent Elena some photos of us all together,” and some of just the two of them. Elena has told me they are all in a group on a shelf in her living room where she can see them every day………I sent her an e-mail today……”always in my thoughts”…….She said………..”we will never be apart”.
