March “SNEAK PEEK #3”

An extra weekend bonus …….Sneak Peek #3″. Actually, a sneak peek infers something you haven’t seen, but this sneak peek is more of a reminder. The A213621, PEBBLE CREPE TUNIC, is probably one of my most universally accepted pieces. It sold out last year and the returns were extremely low…..which makes for a very successful item. I think there are many reasons for the success of this top. It is deceivingly simple……it’s only when you get it home can you appreciate all the work that has gone into this little top…….the separate bands that frame it and accentuate the shape also help it to drape properly. The patch pockets with the inserted bison detail, and the shape, proportion and fit all add up to the perfect little tunic. The fact that you can change the look of it with every wearing, depending on how you accessorize it makes it a very versatile garment. Many of you own it and many of you have already received the new colors……AQUAMARINE and NAVY…..the returning colors are COFFEE BEAN and BLACK. There are countless ways to wear this piece and there are new and old pebble crepe pieces you can mix and match with this top. Last seasons pebble crepe long pull-on pant, A215175, works with this top beautifully and is still avail in limited sizes and colors. The A221804, long straight pebble crepe skirt in black, sand and terracotta is the perfect proportion for this shorter top. The A223661, two tiered pebble crepe long skirt is coming in April and is one of my favorite pieces with this top and many others. Skirts with fullness are a major trend, but must have controlled fullness to be successful……I believe I have achieved that with this skirt…..it’s something new. It is pictured above in the Aquamarine with the matching top and also in Black, sneak peek #1, with the white denim jacket. For all of you that own it and swear by the comfort of the fabric, I need not say another word…….for those of you who are being introduced to this top and fabric for the first time……I suggest you read the reviews that so many Linea Ladies have given……..their testimonial says it all………enjoy, Louis

    Louis,
I have the Turq/aqua Shantung slacks from several seasons ago…are you aware if this top in aqua might work with those slacks?..There wasn’t a matching tank or jacket to match in my size at the time.

Thanks for the reminder. Photos very much appreciated! Love this top and everything else made in this fabric. The new long skirt looks great too. But, I could not see two tiers in the photo. Could the first tier be hidden under the top?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Exactly….the first tier is approx. 5 1/2 inches down from the wait band. This allows me to keep the volume over the tummy and upper hip at a minimum, yet allowing me to add controlled volume to the skirt. It is slightly retro, very Grace Kelly in “To Catch a Thief”. I love it with strappy flat sandals or hirachies [don’t have the slightest idea how to spell it].

Tier construction — genius! Huarache sandals — love them!

This tunic was my most worn item when I was at the beach for two weeks last summer. With the pebble crepe crops of course, in all the colors.

    Louis,
I have already ordered, and received, this pebble crepe top in the new navy and aquamarine. I so loved this top last year in black and the coffee bean that I ordered a backup black because I loved it so much! This top is perfection.

But I must say, Louis, that the new merlot longer tunic with collar that was based on this top was a DUD, in my humble opinion. The longer length was not scaled proportionately and it hugged ( in a bad, bad way) my tummy issues. So I returned it. But this shorter top is perfection in every way.

Enough! You must stop with the fish necklace already unless you wish to whip us into a feeding frenzy should it ever one day become available.

I ditto all the wonderful comments about this tunic. If there was anything at all I would wish for in this fabric it would be a long, v-neck cardigan with natural shell buttons, long enough to make a 5’9″ Linea Lady smile as much as the Robyn shirt does.

Can’t wait until your next visit to the Q!

    1. Sherry

Here fishy fishy…I’m swooning over the fish belt.

  6. Elena

Just ordered it in aqua. Couldn’t wait!

Dear Pebble Crepe Tunic, how do I love thee … let me count the ways …

The light as air fabric; the divinely subtle and sophisticated seaming details; the way you play with my fish necklace and other jewelry; how you share space in my closet and suitcase, your versatile colors …

Thank you Louis, this top just couldn’t be any better! Well, unless we could get new colors in the future … french blue, chili pepper, pale sand, coral, spring green come to mind, but you’ll have better ideas 🙂

    Hi Louis
Second the request for a dress out of this material. I have the black and new navy tubic and was wondering if you could describe coffee bean. I need browns to have some yellow ( love your tobacco!) to work. I know its subjective- but apprecate your help.
Love this top- its all you say and more!

This tunic was my very first pebble crepe purchase–along with the safari tunic and crops–and once I had that fabric in my wardrobe, I immediately set out to collect all the pieces from the previous year that I could. I have the big shirt, the jumpsuit (both in azure), the long skirt (in black and purple), all the pants (the black were soooo hard to find, but I lucked out on ebay), all the shirt jackets, the terracotta and sand pieces, and the new black skirt. I practically live in them in the worst heat of summer as I always look and feel COOL! They are the perfect backdrop for accessories. Best of all, they hide a multitude of figure flaws (not that I have any, but if I did…..) I’m looking forward to the new two-tiered skirt, too. I love full skirts, but if they are too full at the waist I look HUGE, so I really appreciate they way you have constructed your tiered skirts to minimize the puffiness.

If you’re thinking about next year’s pebble crepe offerings, I would like to put in my request for a mid-calf or maxi dress with princess seams (maybe it buttons up the front), a tank, and a long short (12″ or so).

Whatever you bring us, I know I’ll love, just keep it coming!
