Louis, I have the tank, swing cardigan and super ponte pants in heather grey. I’m disappointed I won’t be able to add a heather grey WK skirt! The one coming is too short for me. A-237412 in heather grey would have been perfect. Sad.
Dear Maia, the skirt you mentioned is on clearance, so it could not be done in new colors. You can’t wear the skirt with the matching Heather grey tights?
Louis, I have the tights. I’ll try! 🙂
Has the Raspberry Swing cardigan been reordered?
YES, but not the tank
HCG: my favorite Linea color since Olive!
Hi, Louis! I love the Heather Charcoal Grey and have all the pieces pictured above. But what I would like to focus on now is the Whisper Knit Tank, which I have in every color that I have cardis in. And that’s a lot! Their versatility for travel is virtually unsurpassed. I wear the tanks alone, over a blouse, over a blouse with a cardigan and/or jacket, over a T-neck, over a T-neck plus a cardi, and on and on. Un- characteristically, we will be cruising the Baltic Sea and its ports of call next summer. The weather will be anything but uniform for these Northern European, mostly Scandinavian ports of call, which includes Oslo for its most northernmost port. Travelers on this particular cruise have even packed light down jackets. And of course if there is a heat wave in Europe as there has been in recent years, the tanks worn solo will be perfect for those days when the temps can get up as high as in the 90s. I will be packing many Whisper Knit tanks!
Sounds like a very interesting trip. I have not traveled that much in Scandinavia….Denmark and Sweden, and loved them both.
My grandfather was Swedish. Can’t wait to put my feet on soil in Sweden!
Some of the things that impressed me the most as a 20 year old was….how beautiful the people were and how clean everywhere I went was. The streets were spotless…..This was many years ago and i wonder if it is still the same? One thing is for sure the people are still beautiful.
I’ll let you know after I see Stockholm! Pity that the port of call is but one day. I could spend a week there and still not see everything. My grandfather was an author, professor, and one of the pioneers for special education in the US. He also loved the natural world and would take us for many outings. We were very close. Every time I see Bergman’s “Wild Strawberries” I think of him. He was well known in Sweden but never able to return there. Part of me will be doing this for him. I know I’ll cry 🙂
Do you have a plan on what you want to see? I spent a week there. I stayed with a friend who lived in Stockkolm, and he also had a house in the country on the seaside. The house was on a bluff. On Sat. We went swimming. It was Aug. and the water was still freezing cold. It’s a good thing I was young and in good shape or I would have had a heart attack.
We do have a plan, Louis. We will likely spend most of our time in Gamla Stan, the very old part. We will have lunch in a typical, non-touristy Swedish restaurant I found. We are working with an excursion company in St. Petersburg which is very highly rated and very good. The most popular spot to go to is the Vasa Museum, which houses the opulent ship that almost immediately sank on its maiden voyage and which was found and restored in the ’60s. Very impressive, I’m sure. But I am more interested in the Nordica Museum, which houses ordinary fixtures of Swedish life over the centuries. (My ancestors came from southern Sweden. A Swedish genealogist took it upon himself to trace my grandfather’s ancestry. Goes back to the 1600s.) With so little time, we have to be very, very selective in how we use it. We may have to arrange a private tour for just the two of us. We may have to find a bakery for some 5 o’clock pastries to take back to the ship! I have many of my great grandmother’s silver 5 o’clock spoons which she used for her 5 o’clock coffees she held every day! Can pack two in my bag and we will have our “coffee” back on the ship. I’ll dip my toe in the Baltic but will go no farther than that!
It sounds like you are feeling much better!
I’m getting around much better, thanks! Hippo therapy starts in a couple of weeks. But we also have contingency plans in place. Ship is small and stateroom near the elevator. Micro planning in the works! Hope Jac’s sister is recovering nicely. 🙂
Goldie, I’m with you–love the heather charcoal grey. It’s the “new black” for me (although I still wear & love all black…) I have the HCG tank & swing sweater, v-neck and t-neck, plus the tights, and so, the skirt will complete the look. Of course, I tried in vain to match the charcoal grey sweaters and came pretty close with a vintage Eileen Fisher long knit skirt…I’m happy to hear Louis report we’ll be swimming in HCG next Fall. Yippee!!
Dear Goldie…..you will be swimming in Heather Charcoal Grey come next fall. I will be offering many new things, and many WK sweaters and reorders where the HCG will be the new color. The WK skirt and matching tights are a MUST HAVE to achieve that column of color. For those women who can’t or don’t like their legs in skirts….the HCG tights with the matching skirt will be liberating!I know we have a whole spring/summer season to go through first, but since the tank in these special colors will not be coming back I did not want my Ladies to miss out.
Dear Louis,
I bought the Heather Charcoal Grey tank right after “Sheesh” reported that it had such a luxe feel and look to it. She likened it to some expensive line’s cashmere (I don’t recall the name). I’m now hankering after the skirt and the swing sweater. Should have bought that swing sweater earlier, but I’ll wait for my size to come back in stock. Lucked out on that one, didn’t I? That’s not always the case, as we know.
DIVINE! Love this look and the color Heather Charcoal. I’m delighted the Whisper Knit skirt is coming in that shade. I have the V-neck in Heather Charcoal, too.
