………………You all know I am constantly on the search for new fabrics, and every spring/summer season GAUZE is one type of fabric I am always looking for. Most are much too casual and inexpensive looking, and I have given them all a pass…..but not this one…….What I love about this fabric is it truly bridges casual and dressy…….When I first touched it I thought it was a blend with a fine cotton yarn……I was surprised to find out it was actually a polyester/span blend…….As I’ve said before polyester has come a long way baby!…..The fabric has a surface texture, but it is refined and not rough looking like so many cotton gauze fabrics can be……. As you can see from the photos it tailors and stitches very cleanly and precisely…….HURRAY….it is now avail to order!
…………….The GAUZE JACKET, A276280, comes in numerical sizes. The size 4 is approx. 25 inches long. With each garment I design I think of how it will set itself apart from the zillions of garments out there……for this jacket it’s definitely the FABRIC, and always the special DETAILS. This is a jacket that certainly looks so much more expensive than what it is…. This is an UNLINED jacket as any spring/summer “gauze” jacket should be. The jacket has an open JEWEL neckline. It is a zip front jacket, and has a 3/4 length sleeve which can be rolled up and held with a tab. The neckline and front have an inside border facing of approx 1 1/8 inches which adds a nice detail especially in the white. There are small top yokes front and back with MINI EPAULETTES that snap onto the jacket. There are HORIZONTAL SEAMS on the sleeves and on the front body of the jacket that add yet another detail……There are also vertical body seams from the yoke to the top of the horizontal body seams. Just below the horizonal seam are patch pockets with snap flaps.. If all of this description seems confusing….one look at the photos and it will all be clear….The vertical seams give the jacket an easy “shape”, and keeps if from getting boxy……..I wanted this jacket to have a breezy light feeling so I used minimal hard wear. The “bar” zipper pull is clean and modern, and the snaps have a fine rim with an open center allowing the fabric to show through. They have a delicate presence, but do not become “the” focal point.. The jacket is entirely top stitched with a 1/4 inch stitch. Since it is a gauze there is a minimal amount of see through, but only with the white. I find this totally acceptable for a gauze white jacket. If you look at the upper right photo you will see below the pocket a hint of the black skirt peeking through………If you were going on a trip and only wanted to take one jacket this would be ideal. It works over everything!……shorts, Capri pants, crop pants leggings, slim pants, trousers and my new wider leg Moss Crepe Crop pant. Wear any kind of skirt from short pencil skirts to long slim maxis…..sarongs, short full skirts or my Boho all work….It also looks great over DRESSES!……Whether you are sight seeing, shopping or going to dinner this is the perfect jacket to have……..If you have special occasions and parties coming up like graduations, wedding dinners and weddings themselves….this jacket will be a terrific choice……. Above, I have chosen my WHITE WK ENR tank and the Black Moss Crepe pencil skirt under the WHITE GAUZE JACKET, and a BLACK WK TANK and the WHITE BOHO SKIRT with the BLACK GAUZE JACKET. The white Boho skirt is coming this summer………………The SILVER PALM FROND JEWELRY adds to the cool refreshing look of the BLACK GAUZE over white, and the BOLD BLACK BEAD NECKLACE and EARRING set is perfect for a more OPTIC BOLD LOOK of classic Black and White……What ever you choose you can’t go wrong. This is one jacket that choosing just one color is going to be very difficult. When you try one you will want them all…………………………enjoy……………..much Love……………………..Louis
