Since I will be away when May arrives, and there will only be a few days before the show….I thought I’d give you an early sneak peek at what is coming. The MAXI DRESS above is style number A224712. The fabric for this dress is my poly/span blend that you all know well. It is the same fabric as all of my poly/span printed tops. The print comes from my archives and I developed a separate print border that is cut and set into the dress. The colors are……BRIGHT BLUE/TURQUOISE……BRICK RED/AMBER….. and…… ESPRESSO/HOT PINK…… As you can see from the photos WHITE is accented in each color combination. The length of the dress is approx. 53 1/2 inches for the xs size. There is also an invisible side zipper to make it easier to get in and out of, but more importantly…..for a BETTER FIT. I think this is the perfect summer dress for any time of day, for any occasion. Perfect for travel….as you have seen me illustrate many times…..just roll it up and tuck it in your carry on. As you already know….this fabric is the easiest thing to take care of….practically wash and wear. Remember….when we all get tired of the MAXI INVASION…LOL….this will look great shortened below the knee, above the knee and even as a tunic. Just think of all the things you can do with all the extra fabric………….head bands?………………………………… Enjoy…..Much Love, Louis
I have a bit on the sidelines on the whole maxidress thing. Don’t want to be too ‘Hawaiian’ (big florals, extra bright colours) but this certainly hits the mark. The fabric is going to be fantastic (just like my tops), great for travel. Will order the espresso/pink combo, cannot wait for the show. Good work Louis.
louis, I purchased quite a bit during the last show and now…….must have this new maxi dress. We are going to Paris in August and I need dresses. Paris is a place where women have a knack for dressing in style and this dress will be easy but beautiful. Like your other fans, I will be glued to the computer during your next show.

I LOVE this dress! I have got to have the blue and will get at least one other color. The real trick will be how on earth I will order it from Peru which is where I’ll be for your May show (who scheduled this trip?!). I’m checking into whether my iPhone will work in Cusco and am envisioning myself ordering as the sun rises above Machu Picchu. I am sure the Incan gods will be with me as your fabric, pattern, design and colors are phenomenal. Also working on a backup plan. Hope you are having a wonderful time in France. My husband and I were there this time last year. Amazing trip. Look forward to returning there soon.

WOW, I may have to get a maxi dress after all! Louis, would the reef bolero coordinate with the blue/turq color? or would white be a better choice?
White would be a better choice the reef green and the turquoise are totally different

The blue combo is right out of the Greek Islands with their white houses and blue doors, shutters and flower boxes. You’ll make great pictures standing in front of them!
Oh Louis, THIS is the maxi for me! I’ll definitely be getting more than one color, and have a question to ensure that I order the right size. This is fitted over the the rib cage, and I’m a tiny lady with a large ribcage. Is there some ease or give in that beautiful band around the middle? I’m usually an XXS, but have sometimes found that I have to go up a size when something is snugly fitted around the ribs. At 5’2″, going up a size raises all sorts of other fit issues. So I guess I’m hoping that you will say that the raised waist has some give. And you are so right, I can definitely see wearing this dress for years to come, eventually in a shorter length. Gee, maybe I need all three colors!

The dress definitely has give through the rib cage. It is not rigid where the band is set in…I hope this helps….Louis

Hi, Louis! Thanks for busting my budget again :-). I can wear both a Small and a Medium in this fabric. I usually get a Medium as I prefer more drape, especially in the heat and humidity of the summer. But as this is more fitted, I am thinking of getting the Small. Any advice to give me? As always, Barbara
Dear Barbara……that is a difficult question to answer. This is pretty fitted through the upper body but as you know the clothes tend to fit on the larger side of the size…..a generous small, a generous medium etc. but I’m not sure about this dress. I think you should wait for the measurements to come up and compare them to something you may already own…….Say hi to Ray

Beautiful dress! I thought I would be skipping the maxi trend but this dress is a must-have. Love the idea of having it shortened. I will definitely be getting the red and may get another color but not sure which one. I want to make sure i don’t miss this dress – what is the date of the May show?

At 54″, there’s hope for this one working for me! And it’s my very favorite so far. I’m getting at least two colors and there’s a chance I may need all three. I see this one coming with me to the Cabo Surf Hotel next December. It definitely has that Cabo vibe.

Don’t want to sound like a broken record, but I can see Jackie “O'” in this dress, going ashore in Capri or Mykonos in the early 1970s, doing her retail therapy thing. This dress is timeless in its design, Louis. It is a classic in the exotica category. Like “Farmerwife,” I can’t settle on my favorite color. In short, it’s a winner!
Everytime I look at this, I want a different color. When I first saw it, I thought blue, then when I enlarged it, and the brown came up, I thought that is the one, then as I clicked on the red, that one jumped out at me, so what is a girl to do. I know at least one will be coming home to me, and who am I kidding, I know I’ll order at least 2. Love this look and live in this sort of thing on our screened in porch, as well as a new place we have as a get away. Can hardly wait to get these dresses. Thank you so very much.
