…………………….The “IT” jacket of this past year, and the “IT” jacket going right into this year, is definitely the EMBROIDERED BASEBALL JACKET, and my version, A221353, is avail. RIGHT NOW!!!!…………There isn’t a designer on both sides of the pond who hasn’t presented “their” version of the IT jacket, and will continue to go on STRONG for 2017…………It has definitely replaced the Moto jacket as the singular “fashion” item to covert……….”What goes around…comes around”…….This is not the first time “baseball jackets” have been the IT item…..They were “the” jacket of the 50s with the younger generation….embroidery and all!….REMEMBER!…..I have to give credit where credit is due……Alessandro Michele, the designer of Gucci, has made the strongest statement with his revision on the BBJ, but I have to say my version gives it a run for its’ money…..Oh, did I mention the Gucci jacket is well over $1000……..and so are all the other jackets from all kinds of designers from Alexander Wang, Stella McCartney, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, Moschino, to Armani etc. etc……..all having their version……….There are so many details to this jacket……..Firstly, the new fabric is a blend of 74% polyester and 26% cotton in a Ponte knit. The fabric is substantial, but not heavy. It needs to have body to handle the huge amount of embroidery, and to KEEP IT’S FLATTERING SHAPE. There are lots of close up pictures and details shots of the beautiful floral design. Some of you may recognize the pattern from other garments I’ve done in the past…..like the Boucle jacket and sweaters. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it…..The pattern comes from iconic SPANISH SHAWL designs, and they have inspired many designers over the decades……It never goes out of style. It’s a design designers go back to time and again. The Gucci emb. is similar to mine, but not IMHO as elaborate. Due the the weight of the fabric, and the CASUAL FUN look of the jacket I have kept it unlined….This way you can definitely wear it for three seasons…..The jacket has a….TWO WAY ZIPPER…..both for the comfort and the fun of wearing it different ways. The neck collar and the sleeve cuff are made out of a ribbed knit in a stripe pattern…typical of baseball jackets……….Classic baseball jackets have the rib knit at the jacket hem too, but that is where I depart from the the norm….I think it’s more flattering and easier to wear keeping the bottom clean…..A designer doesn’t have to be a slave to tradition…lol…Baseball jackets are usually boxy, but that is also where I depart from the classic. My jacket has PRINCESS SEAMS in the front to give a subtle shape that you can easily see in the photos above………There are also……INSEAM POCKETS to make everyone happy!…The label is PRINTED at the back neck, so no fabric labels to fuss with……The length of the jacket for the XS is approx. 25 inches…..perfect to wear with jeans, leggings, Capri pants, skorts, crops, and all kinds of skirts…….dresses too…..This is a jacket for all seasons. Wouldn’t it have been fun to wear to a New Years Eve party with a TN, a velvet long skirt and fabulous color boots……Come spring chose any color T to wear with the many colors in the emb. A fun color jean would look great too. When the weather warms up….wear a tank, one of your BOHO skirts [4 new fabulous colors coming in Feb.], and a pair of multi color jewel sandals……HAVE FUN mixing and matching……..DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ACCESSORIZE……in this case MORE is better…..The J277885, Coral [orange] enamel link watch…. J320890, the Sage [spring green] Dew Drop pendant all look wonderful with the jacket, but best of all is the J270116, the MULTI COLOR DROP CANDELIER EARRING, [shown above] is perfect with the emb. for a true Bohemian fantasy look…Then there is the ne Mardi Gras necklace coming soon!…. This is a jacket for any age…so be careful your daughters don’t run off with it…..all you need to carry it off is a young fun spirit…..You will definitely get tons of compliments from men, women and children!………………………………………enjoy………………..much Love……………………Louis
My black baseball jacket arrived yesterday. It is lovely and so slimming. I like the fact that Louis left off the striped part at the bottom. It looks more monochromatic when paired with black pants or spandex pants. On items like these you can tell that Louis is a master at fitting and draping clothing. It is an adorable great addition for my summer travels.

Yes! The Gucci prices are heart stopping. I wrote down the prices of the cloth versions.

Hi Louis, I’m wondering if you can compare the weight of this ponte to any of the other Linea ponte pieces we might have?
It’s lighter then the Super Ponte. It’s mote like the cotton knit in the hoodie jackets….maybe slightly heavier than that. I don’t know the gram weight.

I already packed mine up for the winter, but they were crew neck with short sleeves. Came in ivory/black, purple/turq and latte/coffee. They are from about three years ago I think. It’s the color “match” I’m not sure about.
