“JULY SNEAK PEEK #1”

Hello Everyone,

Even though tomorrow is officially July 1st, I thought you may enjoy your “Sneak Peek” a little early. I chose my first SP to be A226255, my PYTHON PRINT DRESS. You have already seen the SP of the open work tunic and the Leopard print reorder blazer that will be presented on the “Morning Show”, 7/16. This dress with be presented on PM Style on the same day, 7/16. This Python print dress is made of 95% Polyester and 5% Span jersey, [the same fabric as my maxi dress, A224712]. It has a V-neckline, not to high, not to low, and a flattering short sleeve. What you can’t see in the photographs are the EXTRA DETAILS. Running down the center front of the dress, from the bust to approx. mid tummy, are VERY small HORIZONTAL TUCKS. What this does is give a little extra room and drape so it isn’t plastered against your body. There is also RUCHING on each side seam which adds to the EASE and DRAPE of the dress. The dress, from “High Point Shoulder”, measures 40 inches long. The Python print gives lots of CAMOUFLAGE, so if you are concerned about showing any problem areas…..as I said, great camouflage!……..and Spanx is your friend……. The colors are …………PEACOCK……..STONE……..CHILI PEPPER. Wear this dress belted or not. Please notice the GENUINE PYTHON belt on the stone dress in the upper right photo. It blends right into the dress…..that shows what an incredible job was done printing this fabric……which of course, was developed by me and my print team EXCLUSIVELY for YOU! You will not see this print anywhere else. Do not be afraid of the print….it is not too bold or loud. The colors are all very sophisticated. Now, the jackets…..a quick SP. The long awaited return of the A216528, brushed cotton blazer, is finally here. The BLACK is featured over the CHILI PEPPER dress and the saturated NEW PEACOCK is featured over the PEACOCK dress. The OLIVE will be returning also. All of the jackets have the same GUNMETAL trims. You will have to wait until the 7/31 show to order…….but you never know, they might be released sooner for early selling……. The blazer over the STONE DRESS is my new FAUX LINEN in a HERRINGBONE weave…..the color is STONE. It is unlined……and…..it is…….FABULOUS!!!!! I will have separate Sneak Peeks for both jackets later on in July. I think this is the perfect dress for immediate wearing and great for transitioning into fall and winter………………………………………………….I hope you think so too!…….much Love, Louis

P.S. THE BLACK BEADS ON THE PEACOCK DRESS ARE LINEA! There will also be a stretch bracelet in black! They will both come in Chili Pepper too!! The beads are on the Chili Pepper dress mixed with the Black beads.

Does the peacock jacket look good over the paisley boho skirt in black from a year or so ago? And does the short sleeve sweater also in peacock look good with this skirt?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Chris….checked the samples out to be sure…it’s not good….it’s perfect!

  2. Barbara in Virginia

Hi, Louis! On my computer screen, the color of the Chili Pepper appears to be more of a cool than a warm red, despite the image of the color in my mind’s eye. How would you describe the red. Thanks so much and HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would not call it cool. You know when you see those bunches of chili peppers strung up……it really is that color. It’s not a supper bright red but it has a lot of color in it. I think you will get a better idea of the color with tomorrow’s sneak peek and the ones to follow. Have a great 4th and tell Ray to keep away from the “crackers”…..and I mean the “fire” ones.

      1. Barbara in Virginia

I eagerly await tomorrow’s sneak. As chili peppers age, they usually turn into a more blackened red. But I’ll wait for your pics. Now that Ray has lost weight, he is staying away from crackers of all temptations :-). If storms comes through again tomorrow night we probably won’t go over to “Cannon Hill” in the yard of the president of Mary Baldwin’s house to see the display. But I will insist on going to Kleins for our 4th of July ice cream fix! I bet you have some terrific displays across Long Island Sound. Enjoy!!!!

That herringbone jacket is stalking-worthy to be sure. So, the dress is going to be presented during PMS, is that right? And the jacket will be presented, I am guessing, in late July?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Kate,
Correct on both counts. The dress will be on PMS on 7/16, and the rest on 7/31….anyway that’s the plan as of now. Is it nice and hot in Boston or have you escaped?

      1. Kate

It is hot as a matchstick so I have hauled it up to Maine in the hope of catching a breeze. Alas, it is hot here too, I’m about to take scissors to my Linea maxi! (Not really.) My only consolation is knowing that in a few months when LA becomes an autumnal inferno, it will be cool and delightful here.

Louis, the python print dress in stone is heading to my closet, along with the herringbone jacket and pants. I’ve been longing for those pants ever since you first mentioned them months ago and I dutifully bought the tank sweater to go with them, as you recommended.

I also LOVE the python print faux wrap top from last fall in all colors. I think it is absolutely the most flattering fit and style especially for those of us with mid-section issues. I would love to see that top in solid colors in the future, or even a re-order of the python in other colors. Any chance of that? Thanks for all you do for us, Blinddogs

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Nancy,
I am so happy you like the Python Print in stone with the Stone herringbone jacket. You will see in my next SP the herringbone jacket, pant and the tweed tank together. This looks soooooooo expensive it is really unbelievable for the price. Remember, the pant will come sized not SML. I’m TRYING to get more bottoms sized this way, but it’s not an easy task. There are many logistical shipping problems when you add so many additional sizes.
The python top will not be reordered :[, but I am doing it in 3 solid colors for my October show. This version will be in a Rayon/Span blend instead of the Poly/Span. It’s very soft and luxe feeling!I’m sure you will love it.

      1. blinddogs

Thanks, Louis! Even with a different fabrication, I’m sure the new version of the faux wrap top with be great in solid colors. Any hints of what colors will be coming in Oct.— PLEASE??? LOL!

    Dear Louis,

THANK YOU! You just made my day, week, and maybe my month … after two dead cars, (one new car and one warranty work), a very ill computer and drive, a husband with an eye injury (minor, and he’s fine except really earning his “grumpy” nickname), what a wonderful treat this sneak peek is! I already own this jacket in black and olive, and it’s one of my very favorites … the new peacock and chili pepper colors are just stunning! I’ll be in for everything in those colors; maybe even a “……” dress; the color combinations are divine. Would you believe I was standing on the bank of the James River in VA with my grandson two weeks ago, ready to put our toes in the water, and what should come slithering along the bottom of the river right by our feet ……. eeeek! It was only 6″ long, but I thought of you right away LOL! Herringbone Jacket is everything I hoped for; that’s a MUST, along with the pants, and probably a spare too. Lots of Linea will be traveling with me next week for an RV trip to CT to visit family 🙂

Can’t wait to see more, and thanks for the early peek, say Hi to Jac,

    Cathy in PA

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Cathy,
Glad you like the SP….just wait for the rest of the SPS…..I promise you will be giddy.
The snake story…..eeeek is right. One more snake story. When I was a child, my family would go to the Catskills for a summer vacation. Since I had terrible Hay Fever, I was never thrilled about two weeks of sneezing to begin with. One particular summer, when I was about 8 or 9 years old, we went on our yearly trip for fun in the country. Along the long gravel drive way to the main hotel, there was a lovely stone wall. My cousins and I would climb and sit on it. One lovely morning we were sitting on the stone wall, after breakfast, discussing what our next move would be. A look of horror was on my cousins face standing in front of me [I was sitting on the wall]. All of a sudden I felt something tickling my leg! A snake had come out of the rocks between my legs and was rubbing up against me. I ran screaming like a girl! Needless to say, I never went anywhere near that wall again. I was always a city, or beach boy at heart. The country was never my thing…..and that’s where the snakes lived!!……regards, Louis

      1. Cathy

Oh, I learned NEVER to sit on a stone wall too LOL! Ah the Catskills, sigh … Hoping to stop there for a few days to visit friends end of next week. It’s always nice and cool in Woodland Valley :).

        Regards to you and Jac,

Cathy in PA. P.S. Those blue hydrangeas Jac posted on Facebook are glorious; would love some spring clothes that color blue next spring …

  6. Maria

    Dear Louis,

After a night and day of no electric power — coupled with oppressive, stifling heat — my particular area was returned to the grid. I gleefully turned on my PC, and after checking my personal and business e-mail, the very next click was on your site to see if your new designs might be there. It is such fun anticipating them and then finally viewing them! You have no idea what a treat that is for me.

Because of our recent chit-chat about snake and python prints, I had a big laugh when I caught sight of your gorgeous new frocks. Really, how ill-timed could my comments be? I might have to eat some “humble python,” my friend, because I love the dresses. Also, a careful look at three of my Anne Klein purses after my online snake smackdown with you revealed that their print is python. Magnified, but, without a doubt, reptilian. (I must have rationalized the purchases some way.)

Does hummus go well with python pie?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear Maria,
When I was posting the picture I thought about you! Oh Oh, Maria’s going to scream when she sees this. I can tell you it’s my one and only Python print of the season…….remember it’s only fabric! No need for python pie…LOL

  7. Sherry

I’m a stone, taupe, and khaki lover. The herringbone blazer and pants are a must on my list…Question?…Can the lace shirt-jacket be worn under the herringbone blazer? Fantastic that the pants are in sizes, will they be offered in petites? Can hardly wait to see what else is coming for the end of the month.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

SherrySherrySherry, you beat me to the punch! You will see in the next sneak peek the lace jacket with the tweed tank under the tweed jacket and it looks Fantastic!!!

      1. Sherry

Thank you, Thank you….can’t wait, I know I’m going to love it!

  8. Carol

I adore these fall colors. I must have the peacock pieces. All the jewelry–especially the necklances. Hope the bracelet will be small enough for me. The coup de grace is the herringbone. I’m completely undone by that one–and the pants. They are going to be the centerpieces of my fall wardrobe. I’m hoping the python print wrap tops from last winter coordinate with that suit. I think that would be a great look.

Thanks again for spoiling me rotten!

    crdlb

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Carol, the herring bone is a summer4, autumn, spring suit. It is quite light weight and unlined. For the south it is a perfect all year fabrication, but you couldn’t wear it once it gets below 45-40 degrees. It really is marvelous and the pants are sized, not SML!

  9. Carmille

Beautiful pieces! Just must have one of each…. sure hope QVC brought in enough of the herringbone jackets. It is a masterpiece and can be worn for years to come as it is such a classic look – I am going to cancel all plans in order to watch online (as I am in Canada and dont get QVC tv) as I just must get this! Lovely work Louis, as always!

  10. Chris/Jazzmom

Wow!! Love the herringbone weave stone colored blazer!! Love the chili pepper dress– I bet they would look great together!!

The chili pepper beads will they have coordinating or matching earrings? Would love studs or drop earrings in that chili pepper red color!

Enjoy the 4th!! How do your girls do with the fireworks all around?
    Regards to Jac, Chris

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No earrings, but there is a terrific stretch bracelet that I call the wedge bracelet. It looks like sections of a Mandarin orange. Gold or gunmetal earrings will look great…..

  11. enjay

One word, Louis … wow! That dress in stone is coming to mama. And the faux linen jacket is just nuts!

By the way – I own the brushed cotton jacket in both black and olive. Wear them to death, do an occasional dry clean – they wear like iron and look great with anything.

  12. Jane

    Louis,

You’re killing me! I see a huge credit card bill in my future. Finally — the brushed cotton blazer in that fabulous peacock, plus the black and olive which I missed out on the first time around, and the herringbone faux linen blazer — WOW!! And, I’m sure there’s more to come that I will just have to have. Thanks for making my day with the sneak peeks! You are just terrific!

    Jane
