Hello everyone……..I have some news to share with all of you and I’m afraid it’s a bit disappointing……..None of the Green Patina pieces will be delivered. I am extremely disappointed in this news. It seems that this particular plating and finishing requires just the right weather conditions for it to come out correctly. Unfortunately, it has been non stop rain and extremely humid in this region of China where these pieces are being made. The factory has tried over and over again to plate the beads and the fish, but it has not come out right. My buyers were even willing to take these pieces in later, but the factory can’t guarantee when this will happen…….Since my initial samples came out perfectly, we had no idea this would be an issue until production began. This is truly artisan workmanship, and we were totally unaware of the delicacy of this process……I have been showing the Green Patina pieces for months now , but little did I know the problems we were to face….I know you are as disappointed as I am, but there is much to choose from, and the MINT MIST SPIRIT NECKLACE will work on any outfit you had planned for the Green Patina……..I have not given up on the Green Patina color, but I may be standing alone facing a storm on this one. I was hoping that we could bring it in later in the year when the conditions were right for the process to be done, but that would mean QVC holding back money for months, and I doubt they would be willing to do that. Again, I am very sorry to disappoint, but this was something that is totally out of anyone’s control. If there is any news going forward I will let you all know……………………………………………………..
……………………………………….much Love……………………..Louis
Don’t ever think you’ll be alone facing the storm, we’re with you, always!
Your green patina was beautiful. I hope you will be able to bring it in later. Clearly it would be a sell out.
Oh boo hoo! This was a must have for me as well. Let’s hope the factory gets to try again sometime in the future. More to allocate to other new pieces in the meantime!
Susan
So disappointing! This was my one “must have.” I hope you can persuade the QVC buyers and PTB to bring this in the future.
Can’t tell you how sad I am. I am going to be “out at sea” that day and another wonderful Linea Lady agreed to purchase the set for me as she knew how much I loved it. There is a message here somewhere, I’ll keep looking for it. I am gratefull for you and my friend, we are blessed. Keep trying, I am sure it will be profitable whenever.
Louis, things happen, live goes on. In the grand scheme of things—it doesn’t even hit the radar. No worries. If it happens later, great; if not, c’est la vie.
Thanks for all you do.
Sheila/Sheesh
I meant “life” goes on….oops
Dear Louis,
What disappointing news! I am not fully understanding. Are you writing that the green patina pieces will never be available or just not for the big show on August 25? I can wait and remain hopeful to see them. Or, is the green patina offering totally off the table forever?
I’m another disappointed person. Keeping my fingers crossed there’s hope for at least the long necklace in the future. The
Why can’t you make the green patina pieces in the good ole USA?…I was waiting for those pieces and am so disappointed. My Hubs even thought they were cool!
Following your blog is such a learning experience about what goes into creating and producing your beautiful jewelry and clothing. Never did I think about all of the steps involved from inspiration to delivering the finished product. Thank you for sharing with us and most especially thank you for your talent and hard work on our behalf.
How disappointing – the finish was so unique and interesting, I was really looking forward to the green patina pieces, as were many. But we understand. 🙂
I’ll be getting the silver, gold and copper. Probably the India necklace. Not sure what else yet. I’m trying to budget.
Hopefully the jewelry will be a sellout and the Q will bring back the green patina items if all goes well.
Thanks for the sneak peeks! Looking forward to your shows!
Oops. That shouldn’t be from anonymous. It’s from Melissa. Have not had enough coffee yet. 🙂
Sad news about the green patina. No matter how advanced our technology and processes there are some things that just require the planets to align. A silver lining is that with the patina pieces unavailable that cuts down on the difficult choices I was going to have to make on which of your pieces to buy. Now I’m in for all three of the Etruscan bead necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. Guilt free. If you are ever able to get pieces done with the green patina, I’ll be happy about that. But I am also confident that you will have many more delightful jewelry pieces to come.
Julia
I am also very disappointed in those green patina being at the whims of Mother Nature, but it’s not within your control. But I am sure that I will find other pieces to tide me over!
Wow, such a disappointment. I’ve wanted the fish for my collection since I first gazed upon it. Kinda hard to take this news in! On the other hand, that DOES free up more funds for other pieces in the show heh heh. And given the general state of world affairs, I think I can deal with a fish that got away. Stuff happens, and we appreciate the explanation. Now onward to a great jewelry show!
I’ll happily content myself with an extra Russian gold necklace. I mean, since I already had the green budgeted…!
Louis, While it would have been a very unique finish for a piece of your beautiful Jewellery – I will choose the Russian Gold which looks equally as beautiful! We know this falls in the category of beyond both your control and the Q’s control!
Hi Louis,
It just wasn’t meant to be for now. No worries. Something fantastic will come from all of this!!! I look forward to all of you fabulous pieces in jewelry and clothing. Have a terrific day. 😀
Bernadette.
I share your disappointment but there are many beautiful pieces coming.
