“HAPPY EASTER”

………………….As I post this I am at my brother’s house with his family………I chose this picture of the “Easter Egg Hunt” because it represents a full circle for me. Yes, there’s a little story behind that. Many Many years ago, before Jac and I were together, I was invited by my brother to spend Easter with them. The  single “young” uncle was invited over for the Holiday…..My sister in law Cathy had her sister Maureen over with her five sons. Cathy organized an Easter Egg hunt. Maureen’s son John was the youngest of all the children so I took him by the hand, and helped him find eggs before all of the other children found them all leaving him with none. I made sure he got his share…………..Today, we will all be going over to this young boy’s house for Easter! John and his wife Laura now have two children of their own, and an Easter Egg Hunt is planned. I will be out there helping the youngest boy find his share of eggs the Easter Bunny left for him……….I’m once again the single “old” uncle invited for the Holidays……….full circle…………Have a wonderful Easter everyone, and I hope you create new wonderful memories that will last a life time……

………..much Love…………..Louis

Life travels in spirals, and circles. After a lifetime of being the “Easter basket, treats, hand dyed eggs and dinner” mother, aunt and grandmother, Walter and I found ourselves alone for Easter this year through an odd set of circumstances. Not unloved, lots of phone calls, but no one to make treats for etc.! (Not to worry, we’ll all get together next weekend) So after feeling a bit disjointed and a tad forelorn, we looked at each other in puzzlement, got out all the “stuff”, made special dyed eggs, made a big tray of Marshmallow Peeps in little graham cracker houses surrounded by green coconut grass, chocolate bunnies and eggs, wrapped it all up in pretty cellophane, and went out to dinner. Our favorite Lebanese restaurant, run by a lovely young Lebanese Christian couple who celebrate Easter. Every relative they have, mothers, aunts etc. are all back in Lebanon, except one cousin, and their own 2 young sons. They work 7 days a week, make the most delicious food, and treat everyone like family. So for Easter this year, they became our family; we got someone who needed us, and they got auntie/grandma/grandpa substitutes … Spirals 🙂 I’m so sure those little egg hunters were thrilled Uncle Louis came to help them!

Dear Cathy…..we are all different people…somewhat strangers really….We all had different paths, but somehow in the end we all come together. My best regards to Walter.

It’s interesting how things do come full circle. What a sweet story. I bet you are the favorite uncle, young or old.

Hope you had a nice Easter with your family and helped the youngest find lots of eggs. Hugs to you!

The Circle of Life is a wondrous thing, Louis. It helps us to understand that the world goes on and continues in a beautiful fashion, even after our personal golden era on Earth has passed. Enjoy your day with your family! It promises to be lovely. You are fortunate.

    Happy Easter!

Sweet, sweet story. They are all so very lucky to have Uncle Louis.
We are at my sisters in NJ. On Easter morning 35 years ago my precious niece was born. She has been a gift from God to all of us.
I still make her an Easter basket, this year I included your new scarf.
Thank you for your beautiful memories.
    Love and prayers, Elaine
