……………………..This GAUZE dress will be offered in TWO COLORS….the TOBACCO, which you have seen…..and BLACK….so your choices will be easy. I have to say, this is a terrific LBD….perfect for work, church, and going out for the evening. This is a terrific “going back to school dress” for my teachers out there! WOW, I just remembered a teacher I had in high school. I hate to say it but that was 54 years ago!!! Mrs. Tillman. She taught biology. Mrs. Tillman was a tall, thin very chic woman. not beautiful, but very handsome………She would have killed this dress. I can’t believe I remembered her! Some memories just stay with you in a corner of your mind. Her look, her movements and her voice always impressed me….yes, I guess ! did have a small crush. She was smart as a whip and great to look at!……Beautiful legs too! She always wore Ferragamo skimmers with a low block heel. I think they still make the same shoe. It was there “status” classic….How’s that for gray matter!………….I accessorized the dress with the WOOD & GOLD BEAD & LEAF NECKLACE SET in the GREY, J352567………………….This dress can easily carry dramatic jewelry and this necklace on the Black is perfection IMHO………………..enjoy……………much Love…………………..Louis

When/if this come back, navy please?!
As a middle school teacher, it is mostly the boys who comment on what I am wearing, as in why do I have only one button on my cuff fastened or did I wear that blouse last week! I don’t think any of them know Ferragamo.
LOL! Cute
Louis,
You just made Mrs. Tillman’s day…wherever she may be.
This dress is perfect in every way. Can’t wait to purchase it.
If Mrs. Tillman is still with us she must be in her very late 80’s early 90s. It’s strange to think of them as being old. She will always be sophisticated, chic and young to me.
As a teacher, I LOVE dresses with pockets. Anything with pockets! I wear much of your clothing to work and receive many compliments. And I have taught Biology but now it’s mostly Geometry. It is an honor for us to be fondly remembered by our students.
Louis, you brought a smile to this retired teacher’s face. Do you remember what Mrs. Tillman taught?
Mrs. Tillman taught 9th or 10th grade biology….don’t remember
I was twenty years old when I first taught high school English. I had one very very difficult class. After a few hair raising weeks, everyone behaved. It took a while for me to find out that a star basketball player, who was repeating Junior English, had a major crush on me, was keeping the class in line. He passed that year.
Dear Andrea. I was lucky enough to have a few teachers who left their mark on me. One was my English teacher Miss Erlichman. She was a little stiff, and very near and trim. She often wore a big black bow at the back of her head. She was single and I think remained single. What she gave me was the appreciation of the English language and vocabulary. She would stand in the front of the room, and with grand jestures, enunciate beautiful words….
…like mellifluous…..she would exclaim on how musical words are. I’ll never forget her. Jump ahead 18 or 20 years. I was now well established as a designer and well known. I was doing a trunk show for Saks 5th Avenue in their Garden City Store on Long Island. I was standing in the Anne Klein department, and guess who walked in!? Yes, Miss Erlickman! I couldn’t believe my eyes. She was shocked I remembered her. I told her the story of her in front of the room saying mellifluous with such musicality…..She was so pleased. She said that I was one of the few students who intimated her? I couldn’t believe she said that to me…that I intimidated her. I was pretty shy. She meant it in a complimentary way. I never asked her what she meant, but to this day I wonder what she meant. I didn’t even think, as a student, she even knew who I was…Her name was still Miss Erlichman so she never married..When she left I told Jac the whole story…Funny how things happen…….the other teacher that left an indelible impression on me was Lois Lazirous Locker…. my art teacher in my senior year, but that’s another story for another time…..Oh yes, there was also Miss Greenwald, my kindergarten teacher…I loved her!
Hi Louis,
I’m still thinking about this new dress offering. Is the fiber content the one with some spandex? I always like a little stretch.
Ruth the fabric is so gauzy it doesn’t need spandex.
Yes, Ferragamo still makes the Vara Pump. Jackie O wore them and the Queen wears them. Mrs. Tillman was in good company and, of course, you noticed!
I love the looks of this dress. I like the neckline and the swing gesture of the hemline. Can you share how long the sleeve is?
