“September Sneak Peek #6” is A228334, a ponte knit dress. The colors are…………HEATHER GREY……………..GRAPE…………………TARRAGON………….This is a controlled draped dress…..meaning all of the pleated drapes are held into place with different kinds of stitching. The back of the dress has two PRINCESS SEAMS and a center back seam for shape. The front has a PRINCESS SEAM DART. The front drapes start at the back of the neck and are stitched then released at the side of the neck. They are draped and held at the waist with two top stitches. These drapes are great for both full busted women and women who are not. The skirt portion has a center inverted pleat with pleats on either side……great for hiding a little extra weight. There are long sleeves and a V-neck. The dress is approx. 40 to 40 1/2 inches long. It is very soft and very feminine dress……great under jackets, as you can see from the photo of the TARRAGON LEATHER JACKET with the Tarragon dress. On it’s own, it really needs nothing else. You can wear it belted….or not. Different accessories will keep the dress looking fresh and new with each wearing………………Tres Chic!……………Enjoy, much Love, Louis

Does the heather gray ponte knit jacket of a few years back, match the gray of this dress?
Gray or Grape, Gray or Grape, or both Gray AND Grape 🙂 ?!!!!
I’m heartbroken. Adore this frock but it is too short for “moi.” If it is not 42 inches long, I have to look away — even if it has grabbed my heart. Do most women prefer shorter lengths? They must because most of your recent dresses hit above the knee.
The 42 inches is for a size XS which for most women is below the knee. The dress gets longer as the size goes up.
Dear Louis,
Your description accompanying the photos states that the dress is “approx. 40 to 40 1/2 inches long.” You have written in your response to me that the XS is 42 inches long. I am confused. What would the length of a Large be? My decision to buy hinges on this. Thank you so much.
Sorry….the xs IS approx. 40 to 40 1/2 inches long. The grade is “usually 1/2 inch per size…..if I remember correctly. If that is correct the 1x should be approx. 42 1/2 inches.
Sounds promising for me! Thank you, again.
I will really enjoy wearing this dress with the Leather Jacket, and also with a colorblocked SHAWL I have in the mushroom shades. I didn’t notice the stitching as I was looking at the belted version, but the stitching holds the draping in place and is so flattering b/c it draws the eye in.
The one with the necklaces is boho chic and I can see wearing this version with flat suede fringed boot, as well as with the shawl.
This is a dress with many options; love it Louis!
Louis,
Is the pleating in the skirt part of the dress similar to the recent animal print dress? I’m asking because as much as I wanted that one to work for me, as a pear, the pleating didn’t work with my hips. I love this dress but don’t want to buy and return. Can you offer any advise for a pear? Thanks!
Julia/Qulia
P.S. If it doesn’t work for my shape then I’ll be disappointed but okay because you have plenty in the line up for the show that will work for me.
It is similar but it has more pleats in the top and skirts….this nay nt be the best choice for you.
Thank you for answering so promptly. No worries. This means I can get two colors of your medallion cardigan or both colors of the tweed. I love the look of the new blouse, too. The shirring at the shoulders will make my narrow shoulders look broader and balance my hips which is a great thing. Do you think you would ever consider reworking this past summer’s Grecian maxi in a shorter version in solid color ponte with long or 3/4 sleeves? I love that dress!
Julia
Julia….I think they would all be better choices for you.
What a lovely dress! I am leaning towards the purple one since I got the last dress in the gray/black combo and I have the safari shirtdress in olive. Will either the walnut or tarragon tweed jacket look good with the purple dress?
Not really…..The black plaid from last show would go better. The Tarragon dress goes with the tarragon tweed.
Dear Louis,
I am loving everything you are showing! I’m so excited about what you are offering, and will be one of those ordering before the show because I live in Oregon, and will be at work when everything is presented on air.
One thing I wanted to ask about was belts. Your belts are stylish and sophisticated, and look amazing with the outfits. I have been searching for similar quality belts and have not had any luck. Any suggestions that you could provide would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank-you so much for the sneak peeks and especially beautiful clothing!!
Cindy
Dear Cindy,
Many of the belts I have are Anne Klein Vintage, but if you go on ebay you can find great belts at reasonable prices. It is a little tricky because if you just look for “Womens Belts”, you will see one group of belts but if you click, for instance “YSL Belts”, then you will find only belts by Yves St Laurent…..so there are many ways to find great belts…..Anne Klein too.
Thank you so much for the information! It is nice to know that some of the belts are vintage, and to be able see how you use them with your new items is very inspiring.
Thanks again!
Cindy
Oh, wow! Classic elegance!!
