……………………….Jac used to own a Dark Forest Green maxi leather coat that she got as a present from one of the designers she worked for. I must admit it was absolutely beautiful. She rarely wore it, because I think she didn’t want to hurt my feelings…even when I said to her, “why don’t you wear that beautiful green leather coat?”. She just chose something of mine…..It just hung in the upstairs closet until she gave it away. Jac would say to me, “you should do that beautiful dark forest green like my leather coat”…….I knew she loved that coat, and I felt badly that she wouldn’t wear it………………she was my girl……………….so here it is……………..Jac’s Dark Forest Green………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
There are so many colors that look incredible with DFG like all purples from lavender to jewel colors, reds, oranges, aqua to royal blue, mint to malachite green, pale pink to tea rose to hot pink….and fuchsia and magenta…caramel and port, raspberry and merlot. I can go on and on…….Above, I have chosen what has become a signature…..the column of color…..It is definitely the most slenderizing way to wear color. Fashion is moving away from all the mixes of pattern and color, and coming back to the uber sophistication of tonal column dressing………The outfit above comprises of the DFG WK TN, A72448, new this season and avail. now…..the DFG long open front cardigan, A343439, and the DFG Super Ponte pant, A268216, also avail now……….Yes, the cardigan is longer than the jacket. It’s a look that is now universally accepted. There was a time that this bothered many, but it is like anything else….your eye gets used to seeing it and you start to like the new proportion and casualness of it……The SAGE necklace, J356989, again is the perfect touch. The Teal and Plum Carnival necklaces work well to, but for something less showy, the station necklace is superb!…………………….enjoy…………..much Love………………..Louis
Hi, Louis! I love, love, love this very deep green. It is really a neutral and goes with everything. I think I mentioned to you before the very deep wool gaberdine coat I bought in Spain many years ago. LOVED that coat and hated when I finally had to part with it after many years of wear. Now my question. Is there enough ease in this jacket to go over bulkier sweaters? Or would I need to go up a size? My bust has gotten bigger with age.!!! I did go up a size in the Port blazer as I knew I would be wearing it over layers. It is a bit big, but certainly wearable, and I could always take it in a bit if necessary. If there is sufficient ease in this jacket, I would prefer not to size up, but better a bit large than too tight.
OOPS! My Bad! Looks like the new faux Shetland cardi over the T-neck and under the jacket? But same question anyway LOL!
Dear Barbara, that’s a difficult question to answer. I know you like your clothes on the easy side. I did layer the green cardigan under the jacket, but without a person trying it on I can’t say if it was easy enough. I will be showing it layered on the models during the presentation, and I will ask them if it’s comfortable or not, but the only ones with large busts are Angela, and Maria. I tend not to layer them, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t enough room. I just don’t take that chance without pre-seeing it on them, and I don’t have that opportunity.I will let everyone know during the presentation if I think it needs to be sized up if the intent is to layer.
Thanks, Louis. I am not as busty as either Angela or Maria. What has happened is that my clothes no longer “hang” on me the way they used to as I am not saggy. Fit used to be very predictable for me, not so much now. And yes, I do prefer an easier fit, and I don’t like feeling constrained. The knit panels may well take care of that. I tried on an earlier leather jacket of yours with the knit panels in a Medium and the fit was fine. I’ll have to take a careful look at the “click here” measurements. I would hate to order two sizes as I know returns count against you, but I may have to.
Barbara I would think the med would be fine. Angela wears the small and borders on the med.
Thanks again, Louis. Will this jacket be letter rather than numerical sizes?
Dear Barbara, the trench and the leather jacket are both numerical sizes.
Is there another top coming in this color? It is my best complexion color but I cannot wear a turtleneck and my climate is too warm for a cardigan and jacket. The skirt is on its way!
What a gorgeous green! Wow! You zero in on the best intensity/mix of any color, Louis. You are the “King of Color” because you are an undisputed color genius. You zap the best, every time. Such rich colors spring from your sensibility.
Dear Saphira….you should call Customer Service about the green. On the Linea site it is avail. in every size. Some bookkeeping is wrong on their side!
Oh my, these are beautiful! I’m loving this deep forest green and have tried to order the matching TN sweater but Q has sent me an email saying they are out of stock. Love, love, love this coat. Fingers crossed that I can get one. Thank you for persisting Louis.
