………………………Hi everyone………………….Yesterday was a special day! I met Maria, Kate and Chantal in NYC at noon at the Neil Simon Theater. We were seeing a Weds. matinee of “The Cher Show”. Bob Mackie was his usual wonderful self and got us all house seats!…….8th row orchestra right off the isle!! Before the 2:00pm curtain we went for a little brunch at Del Friscos Grill right down the block from the theater, and a half a block away from Rockefeller Center. We had a sunny booth and could see all of the people passing by. We had a great time. Yesterday was also the “TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY” Maybe some of you watched it on TV? We had the time to walk over and take a look and take some pics! There were so many people already and lots of security and metal fences. You could feel the excitement in the air…….As we were looking at the tree….it started to snow….Chantal said out loud exactly what I was thinking at that exact moment……”Jac is here with us and brought the snow”…….Jac is always with me, but it was nice to hear that we all were thinking the same thing…….One of Jac’s very favorite things was SNOW, and she would happily tell you that…………..Now about the show……..RUN….don’t walk to get tickets! It was a great show. There are three Chers from different periods of her life that tell her story, and they are all terrific…..Now the fourth STAR of the show is BOB MACKIE!!!!!! The costumes were MIND BLOWING……..If he doesn’t get the TONY AWARD for best costume….there is no justice in this world!!! I was astonished! The whole audience was astonished and the costumes got applause. He not only did the clothes for the 3 Stars, but he did all of the dancers and support players costumes too……….and the substitutes in case someone gets sick, because each costume has to be fit like a second skin…literally! If you remember Cher’s costumes you know what I mean! The audience gave a well deserved STANDING OVATION!. After we met Joe in front of the theater. He is Bob Mackie’s right hand, and is always with him. I’m sure many of you have seen him on QVC when he replaces Bob on certain shows. He is truly hilarious, and has stories upon stories! He had just left Bob at the hotel they have been staying at. They had a day of fittings for all of the substitutes, and it is exhausting work! The five of us went to a local bar for a hours worth of theater talk. It was lots of fun. Then we all went off on our way. The girls to PA and me to CT. Unfortunately, Angela wasn’t able to come. She had bookings at QVC that she couldn’t cancel. The whole idea of us going to see the Cher Show was Angela’s, so it really was too bad she couldn’t come…..next time……………….Monday…..Dec. 3rd is the official opening…..It will be fun to read the reviews………What ever they are…..take my word for it, and I’ve seen many many many shows………..this is not one to miss…………………………Happy Holidays………………………..much Love…………………………..Louis

Dear Louis; It does my heart and soul good to see you so happy with your long-time dear friends from QVC. And Jac with all of you in spirit. What a wonderful idea to get together this way! Hopefully, you all can have another theater day together this way but with Angela along with you next time. And what a gentleman and another long-time friend, Bob Mackie. And there is your Christmas tree! I have seen that beautiful tree but once in NYC and am happy to see that glorious tradition continue. Love to you from all here! Barbara
Louis, what joyful pictures you have shared. Christmas is a truly magical time of year. I have wonderful memories of visiting NYC during the holidays with my parents and seeing the beautiful Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, along with the angels and reindeer. These memories bring me such comfort and my wish for you this Christmas is that you are surrounded by all of your warm and happy memories.
You are much loved by all of us.
I bet every man in the show was jealous of you surrounded by such beautiful ladies.
Well, I did see the men in the audience giving the girls quick glances.
You all look great. Being a New Yorker, I had to laugh when I saw you were all dressed in black. It’s a New York thing, for sure.
It was heartwarming seeing you all out together. Merry Christmas!
Hi Louis!
I couldn’t help smiling when I saw how happy you looked. That was no coincidence with the flurries. Ja c wanted to join in the fun too!
I remember when I was little and my Mom would tune into Sonny & Cher. She loved the clothes. Also remember watching Carol Burnett. Just noticed the other night while credits were running for Mamas Family that Bob Mackie also designed their costumes.one
Hope you continue to have fun filled days with family and friends this holiday season.
Thanks for all you do!
Dawn
What outstanding pictures! They really captured the spirit of the day. Its wonderful to see you enjoying yourself. There is nothing like spending time with good friends! You brightened my day by sharing yours.
Dear Louis, It’s wonderful to see you out and about with friends during the holidays, enjoying life.I’m sure Jac would want you to carry on and not miss a thing!…my first time to NYC was for the tree lighting, and upon exitng the taxi at Rockefeller Center, it started to snow…magical. Lots of love for Linea and you. Pamela in the Sunny South.
Louis – thank you for sharing this experience with us. It looks like a fun time was had by all. Great pics!! 💜
Hello Louis,
What a treat to see you and The Ladies smiling and having a fun day….and Snow!
Good for you, you deserve it.
Elaine
P.S. Love Maria’s hat.
You cannot see my face as I look at the photos and read your message, but oh my, I am smiling ear to ear and also went back to read the message again because I enjoyed it so much. The joy and happiness shown on the photos is evidence that all of you love one another, are true friends, and really enjoy one another’s company. What a blessing!
The euphoria you, the QVC models/friends and Joe experienced is palpable. Oh my, but you do make me want to see the show. Fortunately, I saw Cher in person during her last “final tour.” I think it was about 2006, and Bob Mackie created the costumes for that show. I visited Rockefeller Plaza this past summer, and that atmosphere there is super-charged in the summer. Cannot imagine what it must have been for the tree-lighting ceremony.
Mr. Mackie is brilliant at his art of exciting, shining, attention-getting and show-stopping costumes. Count me in as someone hoping he wins a Tony for the show.
For those who want to immerse themselves more fully into the Cher-Mackie relationship, check out the December issue of “Vogue.” Bob Mackie contributed a piece that tells us quite a bit about his unique relationship with the bespangled one as well a bit about his personal and professional life.
On the QVC Forum, under “Fashion,” there is presently a link to a fantastic “New York Times” article on what is going on in Mr. Mackie’s life with this new Broadway show. For those interested, here is the link:

There is also a fabulous article on Cher in the Dec INSTYLE with Michele Obama on the cover….who is incidentally wearing a tiered skirt, and then you turn the page and there is a Dior tiered tulle peasant skirt. They seem to be stronger than ever!
No doubt about it, Louis, you ALWAYS have your pulse on what is au courant in the fashion world. We Linea Ladies are blessed in a multitude of ways to have you design for us.
OOPs. “your FINGER on the pulse of what is au courant in the fashion world.”
Although many of you might already know this, it is worthwhile to write for those who do not that Cher will receive a Kennedy Center Honors award tonight. This is her moment as well as Bob Mackie’s. The lesson learned here is to never, ever give up. Cher herself admits she has been up and down regularly in her multi-decade career. The Kennedy Center Honors show will air later in December, as is always done. Cher has self-reported that her record labels dropped her twice in her career.
Thank you for sharing your stories and pictures. How lucky for you to see snow right at that moment. Jac was indeed there. I love snow too and I can’t explain the joy when I see snow starting to fall. I recently moved to CA and I muss snow very much. The other day my heart skipped a beat when I saw something like flurries from the window of my tall office building.. after a second or two I realized it’s CA how can it be snow. It was some white stuff from the window repair going on then haha.
An observation – with all the amazing colors of clothing in your line and all the models usually wearing colorful clothes in the shows l, I was surprised to see that all of them were dressed in black for the show. There is really some color missing from the pics but your smiles compensate for it.
Dear Louis,
Seeing these pictures made me so happy. Perhaps the joy in all of your faces made my heart skip a beat. It’s been a long year. I’m so glad all of you had such a spectacular day!
Celia
Dear Louis,
It warmed my heart to see your happy group. All of you looked smashing. Guess who looked the happiest in every shot? You! Thank you for the photos and insights into the work Bob Mackie did for the costumes for this show. I am putting it on my list. The snow falling was a wonderful sign from Jac. Nancy
Dear Louis,
What a joy to see you having such fun with your wonderful ladies from QVC. There is nothing quite like a great Broadway musical to lift the spirits! And how very special for the snow to start falling as a reminder of Jac’s eternal love for you. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences. You are, indeed, a treasure.
Ruth
Wonderful pictures of you and the girls outing. I avoided that area like the plague when they announced on the news about the gridlock because of the tree lighting. I’ve always admired Cher and watched the Sonny and Cher show faithfully just to see what she was wearing from Bob Mackie….as only Cher could wear a handkerchief and get away with it. God bless Cher for still doing what she loves and Bob Mackie.
What wonderful happy pictures! Everybody looks great and really enjoying themselves. Thank you for sharing with us.
Wow, thanks for sharing. Love every picture. Wonder if it will ever come to Seattle, I’d love to see it.
If this was Facebook, I’d be doing heart emojis all over the place! I also smiled seeing you enjoying such a delightful day.
Who forgot to send Shantal the memo that black was the color of the day? However she looks beautiful ,so glad to hear you all had a fabulous time hope it comes to Phoenix one day, sounds like a can’t miss! Happy Holidays to all
Chantal had a black coat….LOL
Louis, it did my heart good that you had a very special day! All your ladies looked wonderful but my favorite pictures are you and Maria, two gorgeous Italians! Maria is a knockout! Bob Mackie is know for being a gentleman, just like you and how very kind that he made arrangements for house seats which added to the “special” day. Regardless of the reviews, the show has to be totally enjoyable and spectacular, what a life she has had and still going strong. I loved all of Bob Mackie’s costumes but to do a Las Vegas Show for Cher, Mitzi Gaynor or Ann Margaret is not the same as doing an entire Broadway Show especially at this stage. I have no doubt that the costumes are in a category all by itself! Joe was great to go with all of you afterward and what a fun time, all the stories, all the gossip, all the laughs. I was delighted that Jac was able to join all of you for an extra special day, put a little extra twinkle in your eye. What a fabulous way to start the holiday season and for you to know how very much you are loved and treasured by your ladies as well as Bob. You deserve it. So big, big hugs to you! You do bring a lot of joy to all of us! oxoxoxoxoxo Cat
Hi Louis
I saw Cher The Musical in Chicago – its last try out venue prior to opening on Broadway. It totally sold out in Chicago. Cher, the Musical is definitely a crown pleaser. Cher certainly has had a wonderful career. I would agree the costumes were sensational and Bob Mackie deserves a Tony Award.
From what I understand the show has changed quite a bit from the Chicago show. I was told it’s cleaner and less confusing. Since i didn’t see the Chicago version I know know the difference, but I thought it was certainly a crowd pleaser.
Sounds like a terrific show! Many shows open ‘out of town’ to see how certain things play to audiences before their grand opening on Broadway. I saw Wicked & Jersey Boys in Chicago when one of our sons attended U Chicago. Tickets were slightly cheaper too.
Cher saw the show in Chicago and stated it needed work. I was fortunate to be at the theater the one of the evenings she attended. I was able to get a look at her prior to the show began. Even though it was tightened up for Broadway, it still was enjoyable and a big hit with Chicago audiences. Costumes were still sensational!
Louis- It made me smile to see you so happy! Thanks for sharing-I mean “Chering”- your
evening with us. I hope the show come to LA.
