It really is strange to call them a “trend” since they have been popular for centuries. Queen Elizabeth 1 wore tassel necklaces made of pearls, and during the Roaring 20s tassels in gems stones and glass beads were the rage……….The new CHAIN & PAVE Tassel, J390579, will be avail in THREE COLOR METALS. The first is GUNMETAL with a CRYSTAL PAVE CONE SHAPED CAP. I chose to plate the cap in the Gunmetal to contrast with the crystals instead of silver to match the crystals. This allows the individual crystals to show up more. I also chose the gunmetal to give the piece a vintage look. This can be seen well in the photo to the upper left……The TASSEL is FULL with many strands of chain. I detest skimpy tassels! The chain also moves beautifully. If you are going to make a tassel make it LUSH! I think the chain allows you to wear the tassel super casual, but it can also be worn very dressy. I have it shown above with the BLACK CREPE GAUZE tunic, which has been reordered, and the matching pant. I have chosen the GUNMETAL HOOP from the set of four to coordinate with the necklace. A Pave earring would also work for a dressier look…………………..There have been many jewelry items posted very quickly, but as Forest Gump said “It’s like a box of chocolates. You just can’t have one”…..and VALENTINE’S DAY is coming soon….so buy yourself a present or two or three, and have hubby give them to you as a present. I ordered this sight unseen based on the description. One thing, though, the description of the copper version says the crystals are black on the Q. That’s the only reason I didn’t order that version without a photo. I have the black crystal tassel and wore it loads during the holidays. Love your jewelry to bits!
Dear Carol…..the description say “Black Diamond” which they are. Black Diamond isn’t Black Jet. They have a slight smokey grey color but are still clear like crystals. The difference between Black Diamond and Clear Crystal is slight, but the BD looks better on the Copper Ox.
