what a delightful picture and surprise !, I am sure Jac would be so proud !, You and the girls look so happy in the sunshine
😊🌺🌺🌺
Oh Louis, what a sweet picture! That a lot of pots of pansies. My strawberries have been coming up and weren’t happy that we didn’t get the straw off of them until 2 days ago. The tulips are coming too!
I wish you much joy this spring. I have been thinking a lot about you since your brother’s passing and have been keeping you in my prayers. Hugs and love and lots of rays of sunshine being sent your way!
Hi Louis, Some of my snowdrops are blooming and I was thinking about your daffodils and wondering how they are doing. Thanks for posting this wonderful photo of you, the girls and your garden. I planted pansies yesterday too. What a lovely time of year! Ruth
Dear Ruth….my snow drops are coming up too. The strange thing is some are coming up in areas of the garden I never planted them??? The Daffodils are staring to bloom. They should be at full bloom in 2 weeks
W H AT?? I checked the LDO blog anticipating a new blouse or maybe a new pant but what I saw caused a smile. What a beautiful day, the pansies are lively and I’ll bet Jac’s heart has been warmed!
Ah, Jac’s favorite pansies … so many of us shared her love of pansies. How lucky we are that she and you have so generously shared this beauty with us … and the Scotties are a treat!
Here’s a fun little story for you. Walter and I took our vintage travel trailer on her first outing of the year this past weekend, to meet friends for the Gloucester, VA Daffodil Festival. It’s glorious; a whole quaint little town planted in daffodil gardens, a daffodil show and competition, street fair full of crafts, dogs, people, music, more daffodils, and good food, all on a brisk sunny spring weekend. I chose to wear the new Linea botanical top in ivory, dark indigo jeans, and the sunshine daffodil yellow denim jacket. ALL day, random strangers were coming to admire that top “with all the daffodils” and ask where to get it 🙂 We finished our day at the lovely gardens at Brent and Becky’s Bulbs Company. I ran into Brent himself outside, wandering and greeting customers and friends. He is a world class rekniwned gardener, author and lecturer as well as daffodil hybridizer. BEFORE he even recognized me in the crowds, he ran over, gently grabbed my sleeve and gasped “Oooh, you’re wearing daffodils!” THEN he looked up and said “ Oh, Hi Cathy, how is Walter … and where can I get Becky a blouse like that???” So fun 🙂
Cathy what a perfect place to wear your Daffodils, and what a great representative for me! I bet you brought a smile to many faces.
Love this! Happy spring!! 🌸🌼🌿
Hi Louis
Fabulous job on the pots!!!
Hope your daffodils are coming up too!!!
Lots of rain and storms down here in Southern Louisiana, So I’m hoping
for a payoff in my ‘May Flowers ‘.
Our azaleas bloomed early last month due to mild winter.
It was a nice reprieve from last years harsh one.
Good news that I do not have to water the new sod I put in two weeks ago.
Oh and look there- sun is out- yeah!!!
Enjoy your beauties and thanks for sharing
Sarah
My daffodils are just starting to bloom.
Louis…but, where is your richly deserved treat?
They are my treat! and not fattening!!
Yes, they are the best treat. That and a job well done
Their little tails are so cute, all perky and wagging, waiting for dad to succumb to their cuteness. I take it dad gives in every time!!
all day long!
How lovely for you to give us a glimpse of this relaxing moment with your girls after a hard day’s work planting the pansies. I’m sure your garden and yard are something to behold when everything is blooming.
Great picture! You have such loving companions and helpful too!
Thanks for sharing this adorable picture. It’s wonderful to see you relaxed and ready for spring. Inspired me to get started. 🌺☀
Hi Louis!
The Girls are adorable waiting for their treats after helping their Dad. Looking forward to seeing more of your gardening pics. My thumb isn’t as green as yours. Our weather is slow in welcoming Spring.
Sounds like your weekend was busy too outdoors! I pruned all my rose bushes. Then collapsed into a chair for the rest of the day. The pansies are so colorful. Looks like your girls enjoyed being outdoors too.
Our wisteria is just starting to bloom. The azaleas are fully flowered out. The roses are back from their winter pruning. Must be spring! I’ve been wearing a lot of your spring collection this past week, mostly sapphire. Raking in the compliments, of course.
Hope you find some inspiration and not too much perspiration in your garden!
Louis, this photo of you and your girls and Jac’s favorite flowers made me smile bigly. You are lucky to have spring weather for flower planting–we are getting more snow this week! Enjoy this joyful season surrounded by your blooming garden and sweet “helpers.”
Such sweet little babies! I am obsessed with gerbera daisies this year. Can’t get enough of them! So many colors!!
Well, there’s those cuties, and the pansies too!
Happy Spring Louis!
Nice to see the photo of your Girls.
Went to the Tartan Day parade on Saturday, enjoyed seeing all The Scotties marching up 6th Avenue, adorable.
There is a beautiful Magnolia tree in bloom at the end of Barrow Street, I always makes me smile.
Looking forward to seeing your blooms.
See you soon, Elaine
Beautiful! What a joyful photo, Louis. Loved it.
Three cuties!
A perfect weekend in the NY metro area for getting out in the yard, working, enjoying a treat as well as the view featuring two dozen pots of pansies. I think I will pick up a flat or two this week.
Oh my gosh Louis, this pic is so precious!! 💕
I’m glad you and your helpers were able to get all the pansies planted!
Well done Louis and beautiful too I just love a colorful garden, the weather has been so inviting to work in the garden lately. I didn’t get a chance to do anything in the garden but at least my gardner came and straighten and cleaned things up nicely. You look so relaxed with the girls in that beautiful sunshine, deservingly so you have been hitting us up left and right with the beautiful clothes and jewelry! Enjoy.
