………………………..The Maasai people have always been a source of inspiration for me……..Both the men and women dress with abandon….Notice the second picture in at the top left….There are two men in the background…..a handsome people!….Color and pattern are their calling cards…Even their make up, all natural….is fantastic…It’s all a part of who they are…..The men and women carry their sense of style through with their jewelry….all hand crafted….They love collars and rows of beads mixed with cords of multi color fabrics. From these collar rings they hang a variety of beads, metal discs and shells. They dress up for both special occasions and no occasion at all…….notice the center bottom photo of the two women dressed in their togas, sarongs and jewelry….and BABY!…just to herd the cows!………They are a very proud uninhibited group of people, and are know for their style and the way they carry themselves. The men are all tall, slim and statuesque, and wear their piled on jewelry proudly……We can all learn from these people, and their FREEDOM and exuberant enjoyment of life………… joie de vivre is how they live……………………………………………enjoy…………………much Love……………………………………Louis
“THE MAASAI WOMEN”

Hi, Louis! When I was in graduate school, we studied the Maasai people in the course “Clothing and Human Behavior”. As I remember, the text we used was “The Ideal Wife is Shiny” and examined the change in clothing and all kinds of adornment and body modification for a young woman preparing to marry. The ideal wife was also plump and was sent to a “fattening up” location with the older women who prepared her for marriage. On her wedding day, she was rubbed with animal fat to shine her up! It was a fascinating study! Having her ears pierced for the large earrings a married woman wore was part of the body modification along with other changes to her maiden body.
Amazing people! My bracelet has shipped and I’m looking forward to wearing it with a denim shirt and white jeans–my new summer uniform. Thank you sir for once again creating a piece that will transform an outfit from average to beyond interesting.
Enjoy…..I’m glad yours is being shipped. I have been told the 3 items are already selling well and they have just been posted.
Louis, your prolific creative genius continues to astound me! I ordered the three pieces yesterday. They are a treasure, just like you.
Louis, I wasn’t going to order this set but after reading your Sneak Peek – I just did – the Necklace and Bracelet (am not a big fan of Earrings in general).
Seka.
If you don’t mind me asking….why aren’t you an earring fan? If I remember correctly you are tall….no? Do you wear your hair short or long? In my mind you have short hair, but I can be wrong on both counts…..LOL
Yes, Louis, I am tall (5’ 9”) and have just above the shoulder length hair (Blonde) – and no pierced ears. I do have some of your ‘work of art’ earrings (clip versions) – such as the Fish, and the Palm Frond, and enjoy wearing them for special occasions. Because I wear clip earrings I always know they’re there even though they are comfortable….so for everyday I always wear your beautiful bracelets and necklaces.
Seka.
Seka…..I’m going to have to change my whole image of you! A tall willowy blond! I pictured you with dark short hair sort of brushed back……was I wrong. I guess, with your name I pictured dark hair. What origin is your name?
Louis, All of the Linea Ladies know what you look like and sound like – while you have to develop an image based only from our posts. I have never worn my hair short, the length I wear it now is the shortest it’s ever been – slightly above shoulders. I am Serbian. Seka is my nickname my Family uses, my given name is very long…..during the time when we immigrated to the land up North…..everyone changed their first name to ‘fit in’….throughout my school, work, outside life I am known by yet another name.
Seka.
