“DECEMBER SNEAK PEEKS #1 & #2”

Hello Everyone,

First an update….the sea wall construction is finally over and just in time for winter. There are still many things left to do like a new sprinkler system [the old one got washed out to sea] and a new lawn and shrubs has to be planted. New fences have to be erected, but this can all wait for spring….we need a break!

Back to the December Sneak Peeks………..The first S.P. is the A230025, which is the  jacquard Ponte knit jacket. The inspiration for the pattern came from a collection of antique Tortoise Shell English Tea Caddies from the 1800s…. that Jac and I have collected over the years. The markings of the Tortoise is just beautiful and they were done in most of these colors. The style of this  particular jacket was also inspired by the “ATHLETIC WEAR” you may find in the very upscale sport shops like Lulu Lemon or the original Juicy Couture. Those jackets however, were strictly for casual wear…..where as this one bridges from casual to dressy. This jacket has some really beautiful details such as the two way zip, which you can have fun zipping or unzipping from the top or bottom to create different looks. You can get some ideas from the photos above and below. There are also inseam pockets which are cleverly hidden by invisible zippers…..why is that so special?? It is much more difficult to put in an invisible zipper than a regular zipper. They are also very flat and flexible…..and INVISIBLE. I wanted this jacket to be totally comfortable and reflecting the “athletic wear” esthetic……I chose to do the entire jacket UNLINED. There are princess seams front and back….. for a  follow the body fit. The jacket is approx. 25 1/2 inches long for the XS. The collar stand is approx. 2 inches high. The sleeves have been left unadorned so it is a simple alteration for those who wish to shorten them, but quite frankly, I like them pushed up for a relaxed attitude. The colors are

…………………………….GREY…………………CHOCOLATE………………..COBALT……………………….RASPBERRY TRUFFLE………”they” may have shortened it to raspberry. All of the colors are with BLACK. As I said before…..wear it  as you would a zip front hoodie……….casually with jeans………or dress it up with a pair 0f black WK pants or a pair of BLACK PONTE pants that will be coming on Jan 7th! There is also a PONTE KNIT SKIRT, which is Sneak Peek # 2. I hope you all like my winter offerings……………………….SCROLL DOWN FOR ADDITIONAL PICTURES!

………………………..much Love, Louis

    Louis,

Love the jacket!! Thank you, thank you for making it UNlined for the southern ladies or the ones like me who are warm natured.

The gray jacket– will that match the gray of the ponte knit dress with the pleating (A228334) or is it a different gray color?

    Thank you.

    Chris

Dear Chris it is actually a different grey. The dress is a heather “cool” grey, which means it has more blue in it. The jacket which is a solid grey is warmer, which means it has a tint of yellow to warm it up. Black with the jacket is your best bet

        Thank you! Merry Christmas!

        Regards,

LOVE the sneak peek #1 jacket! The fabric, print, colors, style and 2-way zipper!
I have enough jackets for dress wear- thanks for the more casual styling. I am not a fan of lapels and man tailoring on my curvy figure, so this style rocks! I will have to get this in 2 colors, for sure.

    Dear Louis,

I adore this jacket – it is so chic. The grey is coming my way!

    Dear Louis,

If you have time, might you let us know, in the 2 sneak peeks, which photo of each color you feel is closest to the true color? I know with lighting, it’s difficult, but Q’s photos will be worse 🙂 Much appreciated,

    Cathy in PA

I think the deeper colors are the truest. The raspberry looks very bright in the photos , but it is actually much more muted.

        Thank you, sir 🙂

Hi Louis. Love the jacket! Can you describe this ponte please. Is it like the older grey and black pieces from a couple of years ago? Little black dress? Or more recent dresses (in grape with inverted pleat and subtle leopard-both of which I own and LOVE!)? Speaking of inverted pleats, is that a skirt or dress that the raspberry jacket is shown over? Thanks!

Hi Jean it’s closer to the dress in feel and weight……a dress, sneak peek #3

      1. Jane

        Hi Louis,

With your tease about sneak peak #3, I thought it was the multistrand pearl necklace and earrings? But I see now you say that’s the dress. Are the necklace and earrings forthcoming?

Merry Christmas wishes to you and Jac!

Be still my heart! By the way, what is the status of the way laid WK Petite Small Black pants that were not available at midnight. I’ve been checking ever since and they never seemed to show up, or did I just miss them? Have they been reordered? I should have ordered the XS, but didn’t act fast enough.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sorry but you have missed out. There were too many returns due to the inconsistent lengths for it to be reordered….too bad, I really love those pants. Have you checked the Linea site lately?

Morning Chris………the Chocolate is a lighter color…a little darker than a milk chocolate….the darker photos are pretty accurate. The skirt is a Knit fabric not a sweater knit like the rib skirt, so it has a vent in the back. It is a very comfortable cozy jacket…..really like a comfortable sweater shirt, but not heavy.

  9. Chris/Jazzmom

Good morning Louis! Is the pencil skirt in chocolate close in color to the walnut items like the WK T neck and the plaid jacket? Does the pencil skirt have a slit at the bottom on the back or is it like the double needle rib pencil skirts?

Lovely design on the jacket and I think double zippers are the best thing since sliced bread!

    Regards,
    Chris
