………………….I named this necklace AMALFI after the Amalfi coast where I spent many years working. I made many trips to Praiano, which is the village next to Positano. I spent many glorious days at Andrea Pfister’s villa collaborating with him on the Anne Klein Shoe Couture collection. His white villa with huge arch window and multi layer terraces was famous in the area. It was perched at the edge of the cliff and straight below the beautiful sea. It was 250 steps down from the main road and another 300 steps down to the sea. It was one of the few villas to have a pool…. Sometimes Jac would join us, and spend the day at the pool over looking the Mediterranean, and Capri. We would all meet up for lunch on the terrace where we had wonderful food and ice cold white wine……….great memories……………………….The Amalfi necklace, J478583 is made of a series of large and smaller coins separated by multi color, cobalt, carmine, ambra, verde and nero glass beads. All of the coins are double sided, and the large ones have different images on each side so there is no right or wrong side when you wear it……Again, it looks great on its’ own and fantastic mixed with the other necklaces…..Maybe wearing it will bring you to the beautiful Amalfi coast…..If you ever get to Positano take a very short ride down the coast [5 to 10 minutes] to Praiano and have lunch or dinner at the Bracci, a small family owned restaurant…..one flight up from the road!…P.S “Under the Tuscan Sun” was filmed right next door!……………………enjoy………………………much Love……………..Luigino

Oh, Louis; I am conflicted! My wonderful daughter in law is a product of an Italian mother and an Irish father. Quite a combination! Her mother’s family is from Rome and their “Lavazza” coffee houses are all over Europe as well as in some US cities. This dear addition to our family is very much an International woman and lover of ancient as well as more contemporary art and cultures. Ethnic jewelry, YES! and I already bought her one of your pieces for Christmas. But here is my dilemma: She very much loves necklaces that are long and low, like the Amalfi necklace and earrings. The Roma necklace is just not her style, and I fear that the Trevi set will be too short for her. I bet she has also been to Amalfi, but I don’t remember her mentioning it. I thought about buying her the Amalfi set and the Trevi earrings that she can wear with other things. Her coloring is like that of her mother, with pale skin and very dark hair and eyes. Any ideas?
Dear Barbara. I think you have worked it out pretty well. The Amalfi necklace and clip earring will be perfect along with a set of the Trevi earrings. I must say if she loves drams the Roma necklace worn with it is fabulous…What ever you decide don’t wait to long especially with the clip earring as there are few left!….I think I may have had a coffee in a Lavazza coffee house more than once!LOL I remember the Logo on the cups and saucers and the awnings and umbrellas outside.
