………………………In the spring the driveway is lined with beautiful Daffodils…………They give way to beautiful roses covering the fences…………once they are gone for the season it’s time for the Black Eye Susan’s to line the drive way…..each stage is beautiful. It’s all very bitter sweet . It all reminds me how Jac loved all of these flowers, and waited with great anticipation for each flower to bloom. Each represent a different stage in the spring/summer season. The Black Eye Susan’s last into the fall, but do mean the summer is coming to an end……..Where does the time go?

Yes, do start more morning glories next year. Try again!
Love these flowers because they’re the nickname my father gave me as a child. I have very, very dark brown eyes (almost black when younger),
and my real first name is Susan, so it was a natural choice for a nickname. (And, yes, my name dates me as one of the baby boomers. I just turned seventy and swear I was only fifty a few months ago! How quickly the years pass!)
Oh Louis the Black-eyed Susans are just lovely. I really like that you have daffodils there in the spring. I need to succession plant like that where my tulips are. My black eyed Susan’s succumbed to a fungal disease a few years ago, but I have always wanted to try again. It is beautiful to have flowers that bloom mid summer and extend to frost. I can see Jac delighting in the new blooms as the season passes. Now this is one of her gifts to you.
Did the morning glories bloom more this year? I can’t believe that August is almost here either. Love the simple joys of summer. Hugs and love to you!
No Morning Glories…..That saddens me. I will start fresh next year.
Thank you. Lovely.
So beautiful Louis!
How beautiful. You Mr.Louis are a good student. It’s so nice to see that you are continuing on with Jac’s joys. Bravo!
Spectacular! They are so joyful, I could look at these flowers for hours. Thank you for sharing.
Wow! Spectacular.
Both artists, the two of you. So poignant to see the garden go on without the gardener….
Such lovely Black-Eyed Susans! What a wonderful way to usher in each phase of the growing season! This must bring you so much happiness to see each beautiful change! Bittersweet for sure, but faithful! Also, Happy Belated Birthday to you! I hope you have been well spoiled by friends and family.
Louis
