January Sneak Peek #2 is the KATE SHIRT, A214116. I have had a beautiful white cotton shirt as part of my collections when I designed the Anne Klein collection. For me it is as ESSENTIAL in a woman’s wardrobe as a great pair of black pants. There is nothing more ICONIC……….more AMERICAN……..than a WHITE COTTON SHIRT and a pair of JEANS. There are many reasons this shirt stands apart from the multitudes of cotton shirts out there. F8irst is the fabric. This is a fabric I had MADE to my SPECIFICATIONS. It is a fine twill, and being a twill, has more substance than most shirts out there……it also prevents it from being SEE THROUGH….like most shirts out there. It is ALL COTTON with just enough SPANDEX to give just enough STRETCH. The “hand” of the fabric is very smooth, unlike many other shirts that can feel rough. The fabric, the details and the tailoring of this shirt were copied from one of my very expensive cotton shirts…………….right down to the collar stays. When was the last time you found a woman’s shirt with COLLAR STAYS???? There is a very good reason for collar stays….it prevents the corners of the collar from curling and always keeps the collar sharp and crisp looking………….YES, th9is fabric will require some steaming or pressing after washing……….I will not tell a lie, but for me it is worth it………By the way……I do my own pressing! Why you may ask are some cotton shirts wrinkle free? Is it some superior strain of cotton?……..NO……..there is no such thing! The reason some all cotton shirts are wrinkle free is very simple………………………….CHEMICALS! I prefer my shirts chemical free…..the choice is yours. The colors that the KATE shirt are now avail. in are………..the very IMPORTANT WHITE…………..PALE OLIVE…………………..BLUE…………….and the new…………….SEA GREEN pictured above which is a GREAT MATCH to the new TSV jacket and skirt. Scroll down for more pictures. I think every SHIRT LOVING WOMAN needs to own, at the very least, 4 great white shirts……if not more……JMHO……………………….Enjoy…………much Love………..Louis

My Sea Green Kate is being delivered today! I think your photo looks like a color I’m definitely going to love. Thanks so much for continuing to give us these outstanding blouses. I also love the zip front blouse in that fabric. Any chance we’re going to see a new color in that one this year? I’m broken hearted about the Robyn. I adore that blouse and have two of every color and the white and khaki in a two sizes for layering or not. I was so hoping to get that blouse in pink or ecru one day. Oh well, it’s

Louis, would you say the color of the Sea Reen shirt is accurate in the photo? On my screen it looks like a beautiful clear Turquoise … I may need my first Kate shirt 🙂

Yes it’s pretty accurate…….there is always some difference between a photo and the actual garment but….it’s pretty close.
Perfect, as in perfectly lovely, and perfect timing… reorganizing my silver and turquoise jewelry treasure chest as we speak :). Hmmmm … With this and the Chili Pepper Tunic on the way, I feel a need to buy a ticket to New Mexico LOL …

Louis, I love your A214116 button front w/ pocket shirt (men’s shirt styling?). I particularly love that the sleeves are longer than other shirts I’ve found, also love fabric, etc.
Is this “Kate” shirt the same fabric? fit? collar? If not, how does it compare? More tailored? Thanks. Looks like another great shirt!

Oh my! That Sea Green is the MOST gorgeous color – reminds me of the waters of the Caribbean. I ordered it – obviously sight unseen – last week and am most anxious to receive it. I am thrilled to add this color to the rest of my “Kate” shirt collection.
