“JANUARY SNEAK PEEK #7, THE TSV!!!”

Would you believe….the day has come…..a LINEA TSV!!!!! It’s been a LONG time between DRINKS, and I know everyone was feeling very parched, but the day HAS come and I hope you are happy with my offering! When I was told by my buyer to come up with a TSV proposal, after I got up from the floor, I thought OK, what should this be???? After so many years it had better be something good…….. WK sweater??? no I have BIG programs in WK coming up and I’ve got those bases covered, a dress…..to chancy and not everyone is on the dress band wagon……..for me there was NO QUESTION……..it had to be a jacket….that’s what I have always, through my entire career, been know for and that’s what I do best…..but which jacket???A blazer….no too basic, but I’m known for blazers….so how can we tweak it…..light bulb!!…. The DENIM JACKET, A222543, in a Ponte Knit…..was the answer for me. Almost EVERYONE loved the style and the fabric, [read the reviews], so I said “let’s do it with a twist…..a new fabric and some wonderful colors!” VOILA  the  TSV was born!!!!!!!!!! The colors being offered are……….IVORY……..BLACK…….NAVY……CORAL……IRIS…….SEA GREEN……..This jacket style and measurement, fit wise, is almost identical to the denim….. so whatever size you purchased in the denim…..get the exact same size. This jacket was fit, and fit and re-fit by my team and the QVC team and it meets ALL OF OUR STANDARDS! The length of the jacket is approx 24 1/2 inches long for the XS, which is exactly like the denim jacket. From the outside it is almost identical. We added a SEPARATE CUFF which is slightly different from the denim jacket. but that was the only outside change. The cuff is double fabric with three working “SIGNATURE BUTTONS”, so you can turn the cuff back for a slightly more casual attitude, and for those with shorter arms this will solve that problem and still look GOOD. It also shows off all of your NEW LINEA WATCHES an BRACELETS! There are NINE SIGNATURE buttons on this jacket, three on each sleeve and three down the front. There is also a spare of each size on the inside of the jacket. I would remove them and store them in a safe place….ALSO!!! be sure to check your buttons to make sure they are secure….we speak, we cajole, we plead… to make sure the buttons are sewn well, but my Chinese isn’t so good!….so double check. We have been very democratic….there are six colors to choose from and three have silver buttons and three have gold buttons. The Ivory, Navy and Coral have GOLD…..the Black, Sea Green and Iris have SILVER The next question was…..to line or not to line. We discussed and discussed and what we came up with was….we would do both. The front is lined to cover the pocket bag and keep it clean looking.. The back and the sleeves are unlined. Let me be very clear…..this was not done to cut corners! This was done for two very good reasons…..the first, because it was a knit fabric, without the lining the fabric would have MAXIMUM STRETCH. Second, without the lining the jacket would be lighter and COOLER, which would allow you to wear it LONGER into the SEASON.  You will notice some seams are piped and some are marrowed, again, not to cut corners, but to provide maximum stretch….and what shows when you hang your jacket up were piped……..piped seams do not stretch. All of the seams on this jacket have 1/4 inch top stitching……this accentuates the shape of the jacket, and in the back where there are many seams for shape, it gives a corset look, which is very flattering. ……..THE PEPLUM…….the BIG CONVERSATION IS…..is a peplum flattering or isn’t it?????I have been a designer for over 35 years….I started when I was 10…LOL…..I have worked with and dressed a zillion women of all ages, and sizes, and IMHO, a MODIFIED PEPLUM, which this is, is very flattering for those who have JLO behinds and more……and for those who are flat. This is not a peplum that shoots out and has lots of shirring. It adds fabric and ease where many women NEED IT. One of my biggest PET PEEVES is seeing a woman wearing a tailored jacket with a back vent, and the vent is SPREADING WIDE OPEN because the jacket is too TIGHT ACROSS THE BUM! With a peplum, all of this is AVOIDED. I know there are skeptics who will not agree with me no matter what I say, and to them I say, “this jacket is not for you”. To those with an open mind I say, “give it a try, you may be pleasantly surprised”. For the rest of you, I know you are going to love this jacket, and your biggest problem will be…………WHICH COLOR??????Scroll down for more pictures!!!……….Enjoy……MUCH LOVE………………Louis

Thank you for having different color buttons on the TSV. I purchased the navy with goldtone and the sea green with silvertone. I also ordered some of the pants and tops. Last year I got the ivory and red jackets with your signature buttons. I do love your jackets. And I so appreciate your sneak peeks. They help me with my decisions to purchase. I hope today was a good day for you.

    Dear Louis —

Looking forward to your lovely new items; I’ve already ordered a number of them. Loved reading about the creation of the TSV. That’s quite an elaborate process. But most of all, thank you for putting together the various outfit options, photographing them, describing them, all with perfect attention to detail. Very much appreciated!!

In the words of one of my favorite actors, “Wow, wowwie, wow”. I knew I was getting the ivory but now the black is a must, must, must. The texture of this knit is rich, I can tell, and full of body. I love the cuffs. Much luck to you, my love! We’re pulling for you!!!!!!

Louis = i am looking forward to lots of you, you and you tonight/tomorrow. one question: will the black dance skirt go with the black TSV jacket? have fun!

    Louis,
I echo Jane’s commentary about you sharing all of the behind the scene work that goes into not only your fabulous TSV, but all of the garments you bring to us. It is OK to be anal sometimes – especially if your name is going on the item!!
I’ve already preordered several jackets and matching WK sweaters – am still toying with buying the winter white. Would wearing ‘color’ underneath it show through since it is not totally lined? I have an older winter white jacket and skirt in a boucle and also the one with the pearl buttons – so, the big question is “Do I really NEED another winter white jacket?” -hmmmmm….since when does ‘need’ have anything to do with it?? Decisions, decisions!!

Does the ivory flounce skirt (A221814) coordinate well with the coral jacket? How about the ivory pants (A229473)? Thanks for being patient with our questions.

The colors would work, but you have two different types od peplums. You would have to try them on and see.

It will probably show through a little but not to the point where it’s objectionable. I will be showing the Ivory with color under it.

    Hi Louis,

First of all, everything looks wonderful! I’ve already ordered two of the TSV blazers (sea green and iris) and the matching sweaters. Just waiting now for the pants to be posted (definitely the white and perhaps the navy).

What really struck me in your post was the detailed description of what goes into the design of all these pieces, all the meetings and discussions, the design details, and the fittings, etc. This is a look into the design world which we as the consumer rarely if ever see. Does this mean multiple sessions at QVC or your design studio or both — it’s just absolutely fascinating. All the pictures and descriptions for these items are just amazing. Thank you for all of this and for the beautiful clothes.

I hope to enlighten so all of you realize what goes into making these garments. I am not saying all manufacturer are equal….for sure they are not, but I was lucky to join up with a manufacturer who is a anal as I am LOL. There are multiple fittings that go on back and forth between the QVC department and my fitting team. Sometimes by phone, mostly by e-mail and scanned pictures and sometimes joint meetings. I doubt that many realize the amount of work that goes into a $49 jacket…….as much as a $490 jacket. I have said many times on air….” if this item cost $1000, I couldn’t make it any better”, and I mean it.

Wow! The TSV jacket and all designs that go with it are fabulous! It has been a long time waiting for a TSV from Linea and now it is truly a feast of colors and pieces! I’m trying to decide what colors and pieces to get and want one of each. Thank you so much for this treat of a TSV and all the other goodies!

Love it! I ordered the navy, black and coral jackets and all the sweaters. Betting the pants sell out first, the sweaters next, and it will be a race to see which jacket sells out first (I’m betting either navy or ivory). I am huge fan of denim version which fits like a dream, so glad you chose this jacket.

Oh, Louis! I’ve been agonizing all night, tossing and turning over which color to order … I was trying to be “good” this time, as the closets are full. So when I opened the blog, I thought “WONDERFUL … this will help me make my decision!”! Called Walter over to help … he said get 3 even though he really doesn’t know what the colors are, being partly color blind. I’m in for Iris, Coral and Sea Green, and coordinates to match 🙂

THANK YOU for all the work you and Jac put into these posts; they are MUCH appreciated!

Hugs to you both; “see” you at the Q,
