“THE GLITTERATI NECKLACE & EARRING REVISITED”

……………This year you may have noticed that there has been a larger amount of new jewelry pieces than in the past. The reason is because the jewelry is no longer combined with apparel. It is now its’ own entity, and has its’ own budget…………..that’s a GOOD THING!………It no longer eats into the apparel “pie” budget as it did before. Now it’s its’ own pie!……………..As long as the jewelry does well, as it has been doing, the more new pieces I will be able to bring. As a company we have decided only on rare occasions to reorder pieces. We prefer to constantly bring in new, so if you like something don’t hesitate too long or it will be gone…….For me, I love this concept because I can always design new things to work with the new apparel. It also makes each item, with its’ limited quantity, an instant collectors piece………………The GLITTERATI necklace and EARRING set, J428966 will be part of this new concept. Once these colors are gone, instead of ordering them again, I will introduce NEW COLORS………This 72 inch GLASS FACETED BEAD NECKLACE is a classic design. It’s all about the beads….I just found the most beautiful quality of glass beads in the most delicious colors and had them linked together with metal rings. The rings insures that the necklace will not break or fall apart…………….Each color is UNIQUE and SPECIAL………………Starting from the top.

1-The BLUE necklace is comprised of two color beads. One is a solid opaque blue bead, and the other is an iridescent bead with GUNMETAL so it looks fantastic on greys. The effect of the “dancing” light reflecting off of the beads is beautiful. This necklace was specifically done to go with the VIVID BLUE EMBROIDERED SKIRT. I chose the color beads to work with the emb. thread so you will never find a better match. Yes, you can wear pearls or gold with the skirt if you want, but this is, for me, the best choice. They just harmonize so beautifully together, and the necklace doesn’t distract from the skirt, but enhances it. Women will marvel about this beautiful combination……Of course I love to layer so I also showed one strand of the NEW BLACK JET BEADS. The BLACK represents the Black Tulle and the Blue the embroidery. For dressy occasions this combination is perfection……………..As you can see from the photos above it also is the perfect match to all SAPPHIRE apparel. It is also stunning on Heather Charcoal Grey.

2-The TAN necklace. I didn’t name it “tan”….yuck……What a terrible name for Glass Beads. I prefer to call it LATTE. Again, there are two different color beads that make up this necklace. One is a more solid Latte color bead and the other is a two color Latte and Ivory bead…..like the whipped milk on top of the coffee in a Latte drink………..This too was specifically designed to go with the LATTE EMBROIDERED SKIRT. I was very luck with these colors both for the Blue and the Latte, because with all of the colors avail on the color cards these were the only ones that worked, so they are very special………….You can see from the photos that the Latte necklace looks wonderful on Alabaster and the Heather Mink WK turtleneck. Come spring and summer the necklace will look great on all ivory, or with an ivory top and an alabaster or linen color bottom.

3-BLACK JET necklaces are a must have in every woman’s wardrobe. In the past I did many variations of black jet necklace for Anne Klein. Funny, I never see them on ebay! Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall….black jet always looks great. Do you have a wonderful black and white outfit for spring summer….add some sparkly black jet. For the winter I love lots of black jet on black tops. This is the necklace I showed mixed with the blue and the latte necklaces with the embroidered skirts. One necklace on its’ own is good, but two  combined are SPLENDID! I have combined Black Jet necklaces with many many other necklace, and because you can customize the length it works with so many other necklaces as illustrated above….You can never own enough BLACK JET NECKLACES!

4-The WINE necklace……..When I was looking at the bead color cards I kept coming back to this WINE iridescent bead…..it was just so beautiful. The iridescence was captivating. The colors kept changing, but the wine was constant. I didn’t even know what I would put it with, but I knew I had to add it to the collection. Since I received the sample, and have had time to play with it, I have found so many ways to use it. On solids, like the port TN sweater above, it is a stand out, but worn with tweeds from past collections it just sings………Ladies these are necklaces to collect. Don’t worry about what you are specifically going to wear with it…….That will become very obvious once you own it. It is just so beautiful to look at that I’m sure you will become just as memorized as I was when I first saw this color.

5-The TURQUOISE necklace and earring is a combination of TURQUOISE and an IRIDESCENT COPPERY CHOCOLATE……what a gorgeous combination. This was another color that just jumped off of the color card when I saw it. I had no idea what I was going to show it with, but I HAD TO HAVE IT IN MY COLLECTION. If you are a turquoise lover this is a must have. If you are acquiring a collection of CHOCOLATE Jewelry….this is a must have to combine it with…………..It just looks so beautiful on anything in the brown family from sienna to pecan to dk. chocolate to espresso, and on the right shade of turquoise it is just fabulous. This is one of those colors that will immediately draw attention…..it’s just that beautiful!

So, that’s my FACETED BEAD 72 INCH NECKLACE STORY for 2019…………..Who wouldn’t love one of these necklaces as a Holiday present. A SISTER, a MOTHER, a DIL, your BFF will all love opening this present and seeing the beauty inside…..No one will be disappointed with what you have chosen for them………………………….enjoy………………………much Love………………………..Louis

I have the zebra coat in brown and blue. The reason I love them so much is that they are roomy, easy to wear, warm as toast but light weight, and unique looking. The hood is a bonus during our Wisconsin winters. This weekend I organized my fall/winter coats. Louis, I also still have your beautiful cranberry color coat with floral embroidery on the colar, sleeves, and front. It is stunning and each time I wear it, I receive many compliments. Unfortunately, it is a little tight (ugh-a constant battle of the pounds at my age) but I can still wear it open like a topper. I think the coat is at least five years old. It is one coat I will never let leave my closet because it is so special. It is pieces like this that draw me to your collections year after year after year. Saying that, I am still waiting for my Tulle skirts to ship. We are going away for Christmas again and I will have many occasions dress up and wear it (and the blue necklace too) this season. And lastly, thanks so much for this blog. It really is a treat to connect with you and the ladies.

I too have the zebra coat in tobacco and black. I just brought it up from my cedar closet on Saturday. I love that coat and have received many compliments on it. I love this blog, it’s so much fun to learn what everyone has bought and is wearing. I can’t tell you how many times after reading a comment here I have a light bulb moment of “I have that item too”. I’m not ashamed to say that over the years I have purchased so much Linea that I have forgotten I have some pieces.

Like Goldie, I have the gray and black zebra coat and just love it. I am wondering how I missed the silk zebra blouse years ago but I want it now! Please “feel a zebra print”, Louis! I still have the color block silk shirts from early in the Linea collection. For some reason I think they were referred to racing silks. But I love anything black and white as well as the bright colors.

I have the Zebra coat that has the grey and black stripes. Whenever I wear that coat, I feel as though I’ve stepped out of “Vogue” magazine. Such a stylish coat!

Louis, that is a wonderful story, and now I’ll treasure my shirt all the more. I’d be sick as mud over that quilted bed cover, too. Yikes. I, like Seka, also still have my blue zebra coat, and remember when you were showing them you saying, “Sometimes you just feel like a blue zebra!”. I said to myself then, “Yeah, sometimes, you do!”, and bought it on the spot. I still love it, love the hood, the deep pockets, and it’s still just so much fun to wear, I’ll probably be toddling around in it when I’m an old lady. I hope.

Louis, Would you consider doing another Zebra print?

Not feeling a Zebra print right now, but things change.

Congratulations on the new separate jewelry budget! THAT is a coup for you, and great luck for us. If I only owned one black sweater (and luckily my husband won’t be reading this because he would die from laughter), just my pieces from you would transform that sweater (Linea, you don’t even have to wonder) into something new every time. I own all the originals + the mint in this style, and they are the best. I have worn the original 3 altogether at Mardi Gras parties in lieu of MG beads over a silk zebra striped shirt you designed looong ago, and they really got noticed. Some of us really DO shop our closets, lol. I’ll be adding these, starting with that gorgeous blue version to go with my new skirt. Again, congrats.

April….I remember that Zebra print blouse very very well. If I remember correctly was it silk?….Some background…..The original Zebra print was designed by me, and I brought it to ETRO, the famous Italian print designer to make. It was originally printed on a silk jacquard of the same Zebra pattern. So it was Zebra on Zebra. It was fabulous! At that time he did not have an apparel collection. His main business was creating prints for designers, and did have a home line and an accessory line of hand bags and luggage which he still produces. He gave me a king size quilted bed cover as a present. On one side was one of his famous paisley designs on silk, and on the other a woven cashmere solid fabric. It was too large for the queen size bed in my apt so I gave it away. I sure wish I had it now. He also gave me a big duffel leather bag also printed in one of his paisley prints that he still produces. Unfortunately, I had it in one of the back rooms at AK to store it, and someone stole it. That Zebra print will never go out of style. It’s still the best Zebra print I have ever seen.
