“THE BLUE TRENCH JACKET & CARGO PANT”

……………….BLUE is the PANTONE color of the season……….Exactly what shade of blue I am not sure, so I can not claim this is “the” blue!….but then I never use Pantone colors anyway. I like to search and develop my own colors rather than have them handed to me……The exploration is part of the fun of designing………………The BLUE I have chosen is a softened blue with a touch of gray…..a very Milanese color…..For some they may see a touch of periwinkle…..All in all it is a very soothing color, and not an aggressive color at all, so it is easy to wear top to bottom. Never forget that these are separates in the true sense of AMERICAN SPORTSWEAR, and are also meant to be worn with other things……such as the CROP NAVY SUPER PONTE PANT shown in the tiny photo at the upper right. An Ivory or White bottom in any style from a dress to a short skirt to a dress pant, jeans, Capri, crop pants or shorts will all look great. Grey and Black are always  terrific alternatives with this particular blue……Accessorize as you like….the Linea choices abound……..Above, the new LIQUID group in the GLEAMING GOLD!…..or the SILVER BALL BEAD necklace & Earring at the upper left………….There is just something so quietly elegant about this soft, languid pant suit in this beautiful blue…………………enjoy…………………..much Love………………….Louis

Louis, Would you recommend that the jacket have a loose fit or fit close to the body? Are the Silver Ball beads new and when will they be available?

Judy, this is an un-constructed jacket in a relatively soft fabric so I think the jacket should have an “easy” fit not close to the body. I think we sized it just right so I would recommend buying your normal jacket size.

    HI Louis,

I really like the Blue version of these pieces! May I ask a few questions?

No surprise here but Q’s photos seem rather dark and dreary for this color of blue. Might you tell us which photos in your collage you think are truest to the color in person?

Do you think this Blue would work with Jac’s Garden pieces in Ivory? I was thinking it might pick up the color of all those pretty morning glories?

Are these cargo pants a wide leg, straight, or flared at the bottom?

Thanks ever so much for all the lovely spring color and fashion delight!

I would say the detail photo at the lower left. I think in general they are all a little brighter than the color actually is. Jen will be wearing the jacket and pant tonight even though the pant hasn’t been listed. The pant opening at the bottom is approx 9 1/2 inches for the 4 so it’s a little wider than a straight leg, but in gauze crepe they have more drape so they look less wide.I don’t know the grading per size.
