“FACE BOOK LIVE”

Hello my Dear friends…………….after much soul searching, and many discussions, we as a team have decided to cancel any further Live Face Book shows. The decision, in a way, was made for us. We had already decided no train travel from PA to CT, and now all road rest stops have been closed in PA….That will probably start spreading to other states….The message is clear…..stay home, go out as little as possible, and be safe………Of course when the time is right we will happily resume our Live Face Book rendezvous at Chez Dell’Olio………..Until then I will post lots of pics to make you all happy. If you are going to have to be home we will all have to find ways to entertain each other. Feel free to use my website to share interesting stories or updates on this dreadful virus. My doctor already told me to drink lots of fluids, not COLD. and to drink lots of HOT tea. It will kill anything in the throat before it reaches the lungs…….TAKE DEEP BREATHS and hold it. If you don’t start with dry coughing your lungs are probably clear………………………Be safe everyone……………Lots of Love………………………..Louis

Dear Louis, Of course none of us wants any of you to risk exposure to this dreadful virus. I’m sure Chez Louie will be eager to get gong again once the all-clear has been called! Who knows when that will be, so we will all have to be patient. I hope all stay safe and stay home if at all possible.

Thanks for your tip from your doctor! I have always been a tea drinker but had not known that HOT tea will actually kill viruses. Is that any tea or only certain ones?

We had already had decided to isolate even before the call went out as we are both in the high risk category. like everyone else, we have stocked up with all manner of foodstuffs, cleaning/disinfecting products, and the gamut of nutritional/herbal/homeopathic remedies. I have used all of these for years and years for both prevention and treatment and replenished all of my supplies. Elderberry (Sambucol) has been tested to be effective against Viruses A and B but untested for this one. But we are taking a preventative daily dose of a super potent powder mixed with tea. We are also running high-powered air cleaners that have been tested to remove viruses and bacteria. Knock on wood, there are no known cases here in our small city, impossible to know for sure, however, as there is still no testing. But the community has come together in doing our part, if that is only staying home. Lots of special help is being organized to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in our community. Everything has been shut down/cancelled, and restaurants and grocers are offering curb-side deliveries. I am disappointed that the program that offers me physical therapy on horseback is also cancelled but of course understand the need to do so.

I just hope and pray that all remain safe and healthy. XXOO Barbara

Greatly looking forward to your photos of the new colors in the shantung jacket!!!! Will love coming by here frequently to see the photos you posted. 🙂 All of that will be a breath of fresh air in crazy times. To enjoy Linea beauty, no social distancing required. 🙂

    Hi all
Johns Hopkins has a site that will give you a day to day COUNT
of confirmed cases, according to country (every country on the planet). Its a way to NOT drive yourself
crazy with worry, but instead look for that down tick that when we finally see it,
will mean we are out of the woods at last, maybe.
Another website I like is “Live Science”. Which includes Q&A ‘s. that are user
friendly, as well as other little factoids, by medical journalists.

A lot of misinformation going around. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2020/03/theres-a-facebook-coronavirus-post-going-viral-claiming-to-be-from-stanford-dont-believe-it/?utm_source=mj-newsletters&fbclid=IwAR0nqRF9xLFmXtrP74zx4_c8lqWOhEyx-37mUmIThVOBD7qX9IQqrOzviYE
I got this e mail from a friend claiming it was from NYU.
Wash your hands for 20 seconds and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. Listen to what Dr. Fauci says.

Stay safe, stay home. Avoid crowds, shop when there are less people. Bring disinfectant wipes with you when you go food shopping to disinfect the cart, the touch screen & currency cup holder if using self checkout (which might be faster than standing in a regular check out line).

I will look forward to your pictures Louis and certainly understand about the Facebook shows! It is a trying time for everyone. My husband is not allowed to see his dear father in the nursing home until they lift restrictions. This is quite sad as we aren’t sure his father has two months left and he really looked forward to his children visiting. I know that many other families are in the same boat. Now if I could just convince my 19 yo not to fly, but drive home next week! Sigh* grown sons don’t like to listen to their mothers!

I have never made goat milk soap, but all the comments have inspired me to do so. Maybe I can pick some up on my next quick trip to the natural food store. Sounds like I will be able to get a few batches of soap made the next few weeks. I bought the 44 lb bulk box of shea butter from Vermont Soap to make soaps and body butter to give away and maybe this will help make a dent in that! It is a fun hobby and everyone loves homemade soap.

In the meantime, I am making more elderberry syrup (my sweet 15 yo son said that my elderberry syrup could take care of anything….no honey, but thanks!). We are also taking more immune supporting supplements and I have stocked up on homeopathic Oscillococcinum (formulated for all viruses, not just the flu). I am sending another care package out to my son in Seattle this morning. Thank goodness he is able to work from home most of the time and only has to take public transport into the hospital he works at one or two days of the week. He is in IT and doesn’t have to be there every day.

Add me to the list of Beekman goat milk lovers. Body cream, hand cream, frothy and fabulous soap – my skin loves all of it. Moisturizing, soaks in and not greasy. HSN always has free shipping on every product. The shampoo and conditioner is the best. A new super size is now available. Never has my color tinted hair been so bouncy and soft. Regarding the virus, I stopped going to the YMCA, we are eating at home, and we cancelled our Florida trip. I can wait it out.
Now…back to Linea. Will be checking back for photos. I love window shopping on your blog!

The Goat Milk products are really nice; I agree with Sheila. I also like 100% Shea Butter, rubbed onto hands right before bed. It’s too thick for daytime activity, but overnight, it soaks in, and is the best ever to relieve chapping. L’Occitane has many Shea Butter products, but the 100% in the long run is the most economical as a little goes a long way. We get the unscented, as Walter isn’t too fond of walking around smelling like roses etc. :). He swears by it for dry skin on his ankles that torments him in winter otherwise.

Hi, Louis. With all the hand washing we need to be doing, hands can get dry and cracked. I highly recommend Beekman 1802 Goat Milk products. They started out on HSN and are now on QVC. Right now on HSN, they have a wonderful 3 piece set of 2 Liquid Hand Soaps and a Hand Lotion with a caddy for $31.95 plus Free Shipping. Item #617-247.
They also have a set of two hand creams for $19.95 plus Free Shipping, Item 617-304. The soaps, lotions and creams come in many fragrances, plus a fragrance free.

What is so good and soothing about the Goat Milk products is that the pH of the goat milk is practically identical to the pH of our skin. While I’m waiting for my soap, lotion and hand cream to arrive, I have been using the Pure Goat Milk Body Cream on my hands and it feels wonderful.

Thanks for sharing the tip from your doctor about the hot tea. I’ll be pulling out a nice big tea pot the first thing in the morning.

    Sheila

I will gladly look forward to more photos and stories from you! I’m an avid reader who’s never caught up, so this staying at home more is helping me reduce my pile of books to read. I am naturally concerned about my husband not getting this virus since he has several health problems, and both he and I are baby boomers. We do get out if we have to, but we are careful about where and when we go and will curtail that more this week. Silas, our six-year-old Corgi is, as always, our wonderful excuse for fresh air and short walks. I say “short” because the poor little fur baby has evidently pulled a ligament in his back right leg and can’t put too much weight down on it. We will find out more in a week when we take him to a vet specialist. I’m praying that this virus will come to an end soon and that a vaccine of some sort can be developed for use against it. Here’s to good health and to spring and summer weather!

    Dear Louis,

Many many thanks for being so kind and caring of your team and of us. Jac’s pansies are a bright spot for us to visit every day, and I feel her spirit watching over you and us through them; I’m so glad you were able to get them in a safe place! Your doctor’s advice sounds very good; we’ve boosted our vitamins, and will brew tea too … can’t hurt. We’re keeping busy with reading, a bit more home cooking, family and friends on the internet (what a BLESSING!!!), music, knitting etc. … all the things our busy lives don’t always allow time for. Walter disappears every day for a few hours … he says he’s completing the long delayed remodel of our vintage travel trailer bathroom. It lives at a storage unit; no humans there most days, just Walter and a lot of RVs. The Italian glass sink I bought him, shaped like a beautiful fish, has disappeared from my house, but I’m almost afraid to go out there to see exactly what he’s constructing … or deconstructing LOL. One amusing story amid all this: My grandson (age 12) gleefully texted everyone on Friday: “Yay, NO school for 2 weeks!” By the time he walked in the door, my daughter had him signed up for bi-lingual cyberschool, beginning Monday morning :). Stay Safe and Well, Louis, Linea Team and Linea friends.

  11. Seka

Completely understandable, Louis – and agree with the Team’s decision.
We have a Doctor in our Family who works in a large downtown hospital – am getting instructions on what to do and not to do – and daily updates as to what’s going on.
Stay safe Louis and Team – and all the Linea Ladies.
    Seka.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Seka….a doctor in the family is a good thing….any advice he is passing along to you is very welcome here!!!

  12. Carolyn

And this too will pass (that means I will look forward to your future FB shows. I’ve appreciated them as you are able to go in to greater depth on each garment. And that reminds me – your jewelry show was the best. Q does not cover your pieces in the same way (or at all) so it’s great to see them in detail. A blessing to everyone. Love – one of your Linea Ladies.

  13. Cela

Louis, 😂😂😂 You are so sweet. You were probably THE ONLY person in the country
shopping for flowers and not hand sanitizer!
Those are excellent tips from your doctor, I’m going to follow them myself. Take care, read a good book.
So glad to hear on your blog that your most successful pants are coming back.

  14. Sylvia

Hopefully this will all be over soon. I have to go back to work tomorrow, I’ve been off for 2 weeks following a small surgery. I’m an Oncology Case Manager. Our hospital is screening all employees and patients entering our facility. I enjoy your site, and reading the comments from the Linea Ladies. I would be happy to read stories from everyone and, of course, view the pictures you post.

  15. Sarah

    Louis
Very understandable. It’s a strange time a no unnecessary risk warranted.
Your website is a nice respite from the negative news. I’m enjoying your flowers, I’ve decided
to not visit a garden center because I’m limiting my outings. I’m looking forward to the daffodils photos.
Am thoroughly enjoying the 42 pots of pansies photos.
thanks for everything you do for us.
    Sarah

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sarah, I went to a wholesale nursery to get my flats of pansies with Franco…..we were the only two people there plus the two sales people!
